I definitely found the hard way into this one and thank goodness I found the easy way out. It was great to read about the first wind farm.
Quick find. Don't know why there are no signs to this place, even though it's #10 on the ocean drive. Tftc
Fantastic views all round from the lookout. Thanks for showing us your beautiful area
#5674 An interesting area to explore. The signage on the trail is fading and at one stage we ended up walking into thick scrub thinking we were on a trail but we found our way to gz for a quick find. Feeling old knowing that a wind farm has been decommissioned! All good here with the cache hide and TFTC Nijesa.
Find number 13715 at 11:40:55AM on Saturday the 31 August 2024We're on our way to WA Goes Big, travelling from Croydon (Melbourne, Victoria) with a caravan in tow and making a leasurely caching holiday across the Nullarbor and back.Spending a couple of nights at Esperance relaxing (sort of) after many days of driving, so today we decided to go for (yep) a drive to checkout Stonehenge and the Great Ocean Drive, with a few geocaches thrown in here and there Quick find, all good.**Thanks for placing this cache Nijesa**---*WOW, so much happening here in Victoria*Dont forget to log your will attend for Victorias first ever Block Party in March 2025, the [**The Sunbury Event**](https://coord.info/GCAP417).Theres also all those lists of amazing geocaches at [Geocaching Victorias List webpage]( https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/information/great-caching-lists), go check them out.
WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 21 - Esperance Day. Today turned out to be a long day, with lots of caching and lots of chores to do all over town. When it came to caching, I found myself doing several short walks, but found quite a few great headlands and interesting rock formations. The air temperature was down, but it was hot out in the sun. I ended my day with a drink in a bar overlooking the bay on the esplanade. I'm off further around to the west tomorrow, hopefully another county as well.Yet again, I was over halfway to this cache before I read the logs. I headed around anyway and had a look. I also found a pile of stones with no cache, I also found a great cave in the bush at abut the right spot, but no cache their either. Thanks.Albida
During our two-month trip through New Zealand and Australia, we drove from Hyden to Esperance today. We arrive at our accommodation quite early and there is still time for a trip on the Esperance Great Ocean Drive. This cache was not found during the ride.**Nijesa**, thanks for the cache.
We are currently on a eight week holiday which is mostly spent in New Zealand and Australia. However, the first three days were spent in Singapore as a nice break from an otherwise long flight. We had about three weeks in New Zealand which went by too quickly. The remaining five weeks are spent in Australia. Yesterday we drove to Hyden and today it is already time to move on. Our destination for today is Esperance. Once we were settled in our apartment there was still plenty of time to go out and explore. We took the car and drove the Great Ocean Drive. We had several stops and made short walks. The views are really amazing. We also had a stop here, walked to the cache but unfortunately were not able to find it.
What an interesting location, and we enjoyed the walk to GZ. We found what we deemed to be a suspicious pile of rocks, but no Hide there. Thanks Nijesa Domsky
Found! Not very well hidden I think nature has gotten in the way - tried to hide more
Around and around we go where oh where is the track in .... Last side checked and there it is. Tftc
Found it TFTC Found in good condition. Well after some bush bashing saw it the other side.
On my last day I visit the different stages Ofenrohr labThis was an additional quick find. TftC
This was our first geocaching experience and the kids were so excited when they found it. Great little spot! Can't wait to get out there and find more this winter.

Half the team had to start heading east for their own medical appointments appointment while the other half stayed with their friends in Geraldton. I'm heading down south and had to pick up a few caches to break up the drive. I'm concentrating mainly on adventure labs, virtual's and earth caches as you don't have to worry about muggles as much but I'm also stopping for any that look like as though they maybe a quick find.
I was here in search of one of the stages for the adventure lab when this 1 popped on the screen so I had to try my luck. I'm so glad I did as this was a really interesting location and the views from the top of the tower were nothing short of fantastic Happily no muggles were around on this cold day so the cache was located right where the GPS was pointing but was not found until after I searched in the wrong place 1st as I thought I knew where it would be. You think I would have learned by now,
I added our name to the log book and returned as it was.
Many thanks Nijesa for bringing me to this fantastic location and for the hide.
Now to visit the other two sites

Interesting site and it's amazing to see where all those huge wind farms began. If one of these towers was open to climb... I'd be up there in a heartbeat. I'll have to settle for this little climb. Quick find once I was back to earth. Tftc
TFTC. An interesting place to explore. I wouldn’t like to be climbing the ladder inside these. I’m visiting from the Hunter Valley in NSW
Norseman To Esperance
We had a nights camping at Salmon Gums picking up 2 caches.
Back on the road we have arrived into Esperance, set up camp.
After lunch we toured the coastline doing some caches & an AL.
This was a good way to visit the area.
Thankyou to the CO's for placing these caches.

I'm a local and have never been here before. Thanks for the cache here. A quick find. Nice view from the top of the lockout tower close by. As a bonus I found bunny orchids on the way to the cache. Thanks
Found this one during a trip through Esperance.
Thabks for showing this area and maintaining the Geocache

Thank you! Day 4 of a road trip to Esperance and back. Happy to make the find. Thanks for bringing me here.
I was glad to see this without having to bush bash towards the snake which had just slithered in near there.
Totally looking wrong place. Then ding dong moment and soon had prize in hand. Nice bit of history. TFTC
Travelling from Perth to Canberra with lots of side tracks.TFTC.
First I tried going directly to GZ and then spent way too long looking where GPS wasn't.

This is such an interesting piece of recent history. If I ever get asked about the first wind farm in Australia in trivia, I will know the answer. This cache was found quickly and easily while checking out the wind turbines in Esperance.
In esperance for few days. Had to get some more smilies while here. Wow what a view. Quick find tftc
I love caching because we can just pick it up at any time and enhance our holiday adventures. Quick find once we got past being awestruck by the view. TFTC.
Started our 2nd tour of WA now checking out Kalgoolie and surrounds. 1 December 2021 9:56 am Tyfc Nijesa total caches now 3266
