I went between the hint objects more than once to try and find this.. it took a lot of searching. I finally managed to pull it out of hiding. It was very well covered under grass and dirty stuff!
A quick find. As a kid, i loved All Things Trains... wanting to be a train driver when i grew up, which didn't happen. Train journey still excites me, would love to travel this coastline one day, as well as the Tairei gorge.

I had to spend a few minutes of searching before I could locate this treasure. It turned out I had gone to the correct place to begin with but the cache was better hidden than I expected. I do wonder if a higher difficulty rating is deserved here; there have been more DNFs than would normally be expected for a D1.5.
haha. Lots of geocaching trails around the various hint objects, and I think I tried every single one of them before finding the cache, not quite where I was expecting.
Thanks for placing the cache. Found on a wonderfully sunny afternoon as I cycled from Dunedin to Waikouaiti.

I drove up from Dunedin to to Oamaru today on my way to attend the weekend's Geofest Event. I ventured off the main highway a number of times to explore the country byways. There was of course the odd cache to find along the way as well. All in all a very pleasant trip with some interesting places and great views along the way. Cheers and TFTC

TFTC - Geocaching today with NZ Bozzy around Macraes Flat and East Otago quickly found.
Enjoying the area on a beautiful winters day.

Yay, found it today. Had been past twice before with no luck. Didn't have a pen so took a photo. Will sign soon as am in the area regularly. TFTC
Yep. Found it. Yay!
I'm on a 5 day caching trip in the south island. Have a few aims - right now its to up a few specific caches that I need to complete my grid for a challenge - and find some interesting caches on the way 1800km later I can say I've accomplished my aim!

We had just hit the road at the end of the Waikouaiti museum fundraising walk, heading back to Karitane and discussing icecream possibilities. Waited while Katiew did the hard work and handed over the logbook to sign.

Last time, 40 years ago, we came to Dunedin and found it so cold, wet and un inviting having lived in a Pacific Island. Now, we are here from UK and it is hot and sunny so we think this area is great! TFTC

After a museum visit in the morning and lunch, it was time for a drive. It was raining on and off at our campsite but dry on this scenic country drive. Thanks for placing your geocaches in such a nice spot.
We have a goal of finding 500 caches by the end of the year and we are close but we still have a ways to go so we decided we better get out and get a few today! Luckily the weather stayed fine while we collected up a few more smilies.
Had to fight through some vegetation to get this one

Found with MrandMrsChosen1978. A quick find whilst enjoying the drive down the coast.
Great spot and a great day for some caching up the coast. It nice to get out in the sun today for a change and hoping it stays this nice for the day. TFTC

After attending dawn service decided as it was looking to be a good day to go for a short caching park and grab loop.
Took looking in a couple of spots o find this.

CJ-Curry found this one when I went the wrong way, ah well! Like some other caches near the tracks today I hoped for a train to pass, but no luck. Cheers
Hevic and I spent the day exploring the northern part of Otago. Cache #19 of 23 was one I admit I goofed a little in terms of navigation, nearly causing Hevic to overshoot the cache entirely. I made up for it by finding the cache fairly quickly, despite getting stuck by the hint object. We've managed to forget the name of the character we found in the cache though... research ahoy. Cheers!
Took a while to find this one but eventually did. The prickles weren't too bad today.
I overshot this one before I realised and after finding a park I had a few metres to walk back. A quick find.
Today, I was heading down towards Dunedin and - like on the previous days - wanted to find some caches along the way.
The virtual at Seacliff hospital sounded interesting and thus I did the 'Ape series' along the way. Having found the last remaining APE-cache in Brazil two years ago I thought this little trail sounded suitable.
I found all caches, twice I had to search for the a little bit longer.
TFTC!

Didn't see a train but saw a truck going past on the tracks. Does that count?
Cheers for the cache.

Little bit of a hunt around to find this one. A great little road with lots of gorgeous views. TFTC
Found this cache when I was on vacation in NZ. Toured along the coast of the South Island. Really loved it. Tftc!
Finally found this one after a lot of looking around. Tonnes of prickles! We managed to see a flock of about 15 wood pigeon flying overhead which was cool! TFTC
No luck today! Even with three sets of eyes seeking the prize. Oh well, if it was there we'll get it another day!
Show weekend and a Road Trip to Dunedin with 'The Boys'....Karma Reprint & TheWanglers. Initially came up with the acronym KiTT but on seeing the TT looked like a Pi symbol we quickly changed to Ka(Pi) (ie. Kapai)....and a fantastic weekend it was. 3 days, 1100km, a heap of caches and great fun.
No such luck today...3 of us had a pretty good search.....next time!

We monkeyed around far too long here before we found this. A friendly workman from nearby who we had to explain what we were up to offered to bring over the digger to excavate the site for us. He even got into the search and seemed quite keen (sans digger).
Looked for quite a while among the plants, stumps, brambles etc. but gave up in the end as the GPS wasn't helping and the area was not particularly pleasant today. Thanks anyway. Rodney and Iris.
Well last day down here in the deep south so that means a last trip to collect a few caches before heading back to book out of the motel.
Still its a few hours before it gets even remotely light so just a matter of working the plan to meet the requirements of the current GCLS stage that I am on and keep moving.
Eighteenth one of the new day and clear star lit skies to boot
Thanks for the placement
