Back in 2011 we were at Groundspeak and we heard about the demise and replacement of caches relating to the ET Trail and we said to ourselves that we would return to the USA and do that trail. We had completed Route 66 that year and knew we liked power trails. This week we succeeded in our goal together with another couple from Australia (The Drovers) and our honorary team member from Hawaii (Skotlee). It was an epic caching run, luckily the weather was kind to us and we did not experience severely hot temperatures. The dust, rough trails and prickly plants provided the most challenge. We had 5 people in the one car taking turns at fetching caches so we never got exhausted. We cached till very late and got up very early and finished in 4 days. We saw antelope, chipmunks, prairie dogs, hares, lizards, spiders, horses and cows. We enjoyed looking around at Belmont and we thrilled to the sight of the canyons in the Toiyabe National Park. Our overnight stop in Rachel was excellent as we happily munched on our Alien Burger. What an experience the last 5 days have been. We enjoyed finding this cache and our thanks to Clay4&whtwolfden for its placement and adding to our enjoyment of this amazing location. Fav point alloc.
One more thing to add - if you think there are shops out here you are wrong. Make sure you bring plenty of food and water if you are doing the trail. We had to revisit Tonopah several times to fuel up to complete the trails and we used more fuel than we expected on the soft surface and probably the stopping and starting No fuel in Rachel.

USA road trip 2015, traveling with Liz and Bruce. Week 2, day 4.
Today was the 4th day on the trail, and we made an effort to finish it.
With the weather being kind to us, it made the task all the more enjoyable.
Many thanks for placing this cache, Clay4&whtwolfden, for us and others to find.

Day Seven of our Ten Day "Nevada Geocaching Adventure".
Although we were having plenty of fun in the Yerington area we knew we were just a little over two hours away from the MANY new E.T. Caches that have been placed since our last visit in September of 2011 so there was no debate - we booked ourselves into Tonopah for two nights and got up with the birds so that we didn't waste any caching time.
We arrived at #1501 and did a little happy dance as we set out to continue where we left off on our last visit to Area 51. The first couple of caches were good but unfortunately after that it looks like something (Aliens???) sabotaged this part of the trail......the couple of caches we did find near the obvious rock piles were laying out in the open, with the lids off and the logbooks blowing in the wind. About 35 caches in we were realizing that we didn't have enough containers with us so we decided to try the other side of the Highway.
From there on we enjoyed the E.T. Trail we know and love.
Thanks for the many caches.

Just now getting around to logging this run. Spent 7 days in Nevada (Las Vegas) and made an effort to hit the Infamous Highway to log this epic run. Been away from the sport of Geocaching for a few years, however I'm back and need to bite the bullet and log this run! Thanks for the effort and placement of the caches.
Out and again picking up some very cool caches between Alamo, Tonopah and Yerington. Great off roading, rock stacking, and hill climbing. Found cache in good condition. Thanks Clay4&whtwolfden for the adventure! TFTC SL
Out on the ET highway for round #3 to finish up the latest trail with Philbeer. Found this one along the way. Thanks for the fun cache. Found everything safe and sound. TFTC
So glad to be back in the area chasing down some more of the ET hides once again! As always it was a blast! This run took me along a few scenic roads and through a cool old mining town. Great job and thanks for your hard work with the series, SL
US14 ET Highway Trip with Sol de Lune and Mtrax. Day 16. The last day of E.T. series caching. The final area at the old town was an interesting place to explore. The final few caches were on some of the most rustic tracks we visited, but we made it in one piece. After the ET was over we took a bit of time doing other caches in the region. A few interesting spots out in the middle of nowhere. Thanks.

ET Day 6. starting from Tonapah and our final day on the power trail and probably the best part of the trail with a bit more diversity and through a old ghost town which was super cool.. phew
Logged as "SAM" which is a team of three Sol De Lune, Albida33 and Mtrax. Visiting the US as a team for the 2nd time, our mission to complete the ET series but before and after do some more exploring and geocaching along the way. Our tour starts around Barstow and a few days in Las Vegas before caching over to 29 Palms before hitting the ET Highway straying at Rachel and Tonapah.
Our second stage of our trip saw us doing a loop around Wyoming, Nebraska, South & Nth Dakota and Montana before finishing back in Los Angles, our finds for the trip totalled well over 4,000 geocaches.

Visiting from Australia and found with Albida and mtrax during our 4 week US adventure...
Last day on the trail with only 190 to the finish......plus the non ET ones.
Again, many thanks for this mega series, it was a great time and hopefully we can all come back to finish some the local art series some day....soon.
Greetings from Australia.....

This our fourth trip and year to find the latest caches on the E.T. Highway. As we travelled from Rachel to Tonopah yesterday we encountered some very stormy weather. We over nighted in Tonopah with extremely high winds and heavy rain throughout the night. Early in the morning we headed out to E.T. 2001, as we turned off the pavement to the gravel road it was covered with snow and still snowing. As we made our way through lots of mud and snow we decided to turn around at cache 2055 E.T. We returned back to the pavement and decided to try going in from 2218 and see how far we could go. Made it to 2140 where the mud and snow forced us to abandon our progress. We turned around again and continued up the highway towards Belmont to 2280. Called it a day hoping that the weather would improve tomorrow. SL Thanks for the caches
Back out on the ET with our fun and crazy KUMI2014 team. Last fall, I thought the next ones might be out this way. Logs by others says it all about the trip... Thanks Clay4 &whtwolfden!!
Visiting from Oregon for the month of February and had this on our list of must do's! We enjoyed perfect weather, well placed caches with excellent coords and so much fun! Saw lots of cows and briefly talked with cachers from New Jersey. Looking foward to tomorrow's adventure to continue the run. Thanks for all the work putting this together.
We’re from Quebec (Canada) and since we heard about the E.T. series, we have been anxiously looking forward to this trip. This is a real paradise for cachers.
On our sixth day, we were anxious to pick up the last 400 caches from the E.T. series and to visit the city of Belmont. The road between E.T. 2201 and 2218 is fair and didn’t give us any trouble. We also enjoyed our passage in the ghost town of Belmont. There is still some activity in the city and there even is a saloon where you can take a break. The road for the last part of the E.T. series (greater than 2,350) is a little rougher and we were quite happy to finish the 2400 caches of this great E.T. series.
Because it was still daylight, we picked up a few additional caches in the town of Tonopah to complete our day.
A very special thanks to Clay4 & whtwolfden for the E.T. series. We really had a lot of fun picking up all those smileys. .
