I had a free day while the rest of the family went out boating so I did what every keen geocacher does in a new location. I have attempted this series before but did not complete it as I tried it in spring when all the trees are shedding pollen, and I could not continue with the layers of pollen making me sneeze. It is a fun little trail with very clever themed cache containers that just add to the general amusement. I completed this series and have avenged all my previous DNF's and got some new ones too. TFTC
Today the Lolly Scramble series is my target. I'm with MacPacMum and while I find them she performs any maintenance required. Most are in excellent condition, with some needing fresh logs and baggys, and an odd few that need replacing altogether. It's great to have a power trail where all the caches are themed containers, and each one has had so much time, thought, and effort put into them. Thanks for keeping this trail going over 10 years MPM.Not difficult to spot this one from afar!
Log container was on the ground. Reassembled the cache after signing the log paper. TFTC
Out for the day with my geo buddy, and it's not raining, the joy of summer caching! Tftc
Out for the day with my geo buddy. Picked up where we left off last time we lollie scrambled. Love the variety in these caches. Thank you for creating and maintaining this series.
Thanks M&Ms for the lolly scramble series. I am really enjoying these today as I was after lots of caches with different attitributes. These fill some lots of gaps. I was wishing I had not found so many on previous trips. Haha. All caches were interesting finds and I enjoyed them all.
13:04 FITW AaronE215The cache had been all rattled up and open. I think probably happened in the hedge trimming process. But everything still fine, just put it back together and both inner and outer container still seems good.I think I have had these bananas before but not a 100% sure. But I remember from years ago, there were these choc coated bananas we had in our local store and I sometimes used to buy those. I'm no stranger to eating fruit too!Kia ora! Paldies! Thanks for the cache, M&Ms!#9923
Luckily we came shortly after a trimming, rescued the tin off the ground and returned to it's peel!
It didn't take too long to spot this nicely apt cache, although the hint had us puzzled initially, until we spotted the bare posts across the road, which presumably used to hold a sign. TFTC
Team G0LD: Geocachers 0B80B8, Lis's crew and DaffyNZ are down from Whangarei for a few days. We've all solved the 4 big geoarts so they are the main target for the trip. Of course there were many other solved puzzles that we collected as well.
This was our Big Day out plan where we'd planned to get as many caches as we could. Unfortunately we just fell short of our target as we lost track of the exact number of finds. Good preparation and a fantastic team to work with made this an enjoyable and successful day. We'd completed the Fresh Breath, the Smurfs and the new Skelly series. This line up of lollies was our next target caches.
I am a great fan of lollies. This was such a cool little series all with nicely themed hides. These lolly bananas wouldn't make my 5+ a day as I'm not a fan of them. Another fantastic hide here. I'll have no favourite points after this section of the trip. Thanks for the effort to make them all fun

Team G0LD ( 0B80B8, Lis's crew & DaffyNZ ) on a caching mission to Christchurch. We had travelled down from Whangarei on Wednesday avo. Solved puzzles were going to be the main focus of our trip. We had spent a lot of 2020 and 2021 solving over 400 puzzles, so we had a lot on our list.
Today looked like being the best weather for our trip, despite a heavy thunderstorm overnight. We had a Big Day Out planned, with a perhaps optimistic target of finding 300 caches in one day. Working together well as a team, with a driver, a navigator and a jumper, we made good progress, but in the end, the bigger distances between caches, that we hadn't anticipated, meant we ended the day a bit short.
A fun day though certainly, and sincere thanks to the GeoArt & Trail CO's, and others, for placing and then maintaining such large numbers of caches so well. A testament to your dedication to Geocaching was the very low number of DNF's during the day. Apologies for the mostly generic logs, but be assured your efforts were truly appreciated.
I think the pointer may be gone, as I walked past it before Lis found this one in the hint location

Northland's Team Gold (0B80B8, Liz Crew, DaffyNZ) are in Christchurch for a few days collecting all our solved puzzles and other cache types as we drive past. This is our "Big Day Out" to collect as many caches as we can in a day. Sorry for the generic logs. Thanks for placing the cache. We are loving every cache we locate that adds to our tally for the day.
Found it. The banana was reading for eating. TFTC

We were camped up a few ks from this end of the road so mrs rattll decided to go for a bike ride and see how many of these lollies she could polish off.
I did about 48ks cycling and gobbled up about 28 yummy caches.
Thanks for putting this fun series here.
Not a favorite lolly of mine but the cache was fun

Out and about getting some lollies, and visiting a couple of horses. I had started the Lolly Scramble while down over Xmas a few years ago. Now that I'm living down here, I have no excuse for not finishing!
All ok here also!
TFTC MacPacFamily, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 5 find(s) of 18 today, making this find #2628

Having a tiki tour around Canterbury and after lunch in Oxford had some fun caching for a few hours. Had fun doing about half the lolly scramble for the day...some were easy, some a took a little more searching. A few prickles got me and long grass + pine needles made me itch but a fun way to spend the afternoon. Tftc
Down in Christchurch with the Squirrel, ABCDF4 and eyespyben. During Covid lockdown, we solved a load of puzzles and decided that this would be a good time to visit. We've enjoyed a few days of good weather and seeing the Canterbury countryside. The caches have been in varying states - some good, some not so much. Our time here has been a blast, and we'd like to thank all COs who have made this adventure possible. Thank you and TFTC.
With ABCDF4, eyespyben, and Gap (of Fap and Gap). Logging all finds as Team HRP (Huntly, Rotorua, Papamoa - Our hometowns)... During Covid-19 lockdown, we solved a truck load of puzzles around Christchurch - Canterbury region. No use thrashing the old grey matter for no cause - We decided we should make good on this handiwork...
There are lots of interesting trails and geoart surrounding Christchurch. What you aren’t told is how far flung some of these caches actually are. Some beforehand advice would have been great, so here are some of my notes... You’re welcome!
1. Mobile coverage is patchy, especially in those quiet, rural areas where it was most needed. Saving caches to offline might show that you are prepared and organised...
2. There are many dusty metal roads on the trails. The car will get messy, and your hair will feel like cardboard at the end of the day...
3. Suitable clothing and footwear are essential. You will climb in and out of hedges, gorse, and other rough stuff. You might get scratched, cut to shreds, and bleed a lot. It’s not advised to wear your brand new jacket on the day...
4. Take lots of food and drink. You’ll probably be head down, tail up and not realise you haven’t eaten until late afternoon. There are very few shops or gas stations out there...
5. Make sure that you secure keys and wallet and know where these are placed for easy retrieval. A full box of pens might be useful too, especially if you’re inclined to free some into the wild...
6. Know the difference between left and right, and north, south, east, and west. Turning right and heading north will not get you to South Christchurch quickly.
7. Look with girl’s eyes rather than boys eyes... Some caches haven’t been found in a while and you might have to get down on your knees to pray.
8. Always be prepared for misleading hints. This is what turns simple caches into D5/T5 hides... “Head height” could mean the cache is positioned at your toes.
9. Have a sense of humour and like the people you go caching with. It’s going to be a very long day, and you might want to hurt someone during the journey...
10. Make sure you can operate your phone/device and it doesn’t crash when you most need it...
11. Learn to cut and paste logs because you’re going to repeat this function so often when logging all of your finds.
12. Above all else, have fun and be kind...
We have another one of those punishing plans to cache until we drop - An early morning start with the hope that we'll finish at a reasonable time... From South Christchurch, we took Highway 1 and crossed the Waimakariri River into Northern Christchurch... We've been lucky to have great weather, and extended daylight hours have given us more time to cache. Unfortunately, the sun must set each day and it's become a race to squeeze in a few more finds. So, at this late afternoon hour, we chose to knock off the the remaining Lolly Scramble hides... Spotted on arrival. Thanks M&Ms and TFTC.

Please check GC. Last person also recorded a DNF. Hedge has been trimmed. Surely a climb across a fence onto private property isn’t required?

One of 21 caches located in the Swannanoa – West Eyreton area this afternoon. A dozen or so were part of M & M’s Lolly Scramble series. Thanks for all the effort that’s gone into so many of these.
Spotted from the other side of the road. The easiest find yet! Endeavoured to obscure it a bit more with pine needles on the tree. #2473. TFTC.

A planned geocaching trip with specific targets in mind.
1: The final 2 caches to fill my D/T grid
2: The last 5 caches available (all in the South Island) to meet the NZ Jasmer challenge GC4R9Z6
3: Get as many caches as possible in a day (Solo)
I had no timetable and only a vague route (Christchurch - Dunedin- Invercargill). So after 20 days of sleeping in my tent/car I arrived home having traveled 4500km and visited some interesting places. Met some great people. I had found over 650 caches. That was a lot of park. Jump out out. Find cache sign and return. Then on to the next. All this done by myself. Also attended an event and had 2 FTF
Mission 1 and 2 were achieved and I had a best day of 153 caches. All this done by myself.
Day 16 Glentunnel to Waikari 76 caches found. Decided to do this series. I enjoyed the work that has gone into this. With every container I smiled and thought about the memories it brought back. Thank you for the placement A yellow mint tin was nearby so placed that with cache

As part of an eight hour maintenance run along the Lolly Scramble this cache has been checked and logbook replaced.
Found the replacement log lying on the ground nearby and returned it to the hide. As the clip is broken it won't stay shut so add some electrical tape to keep it closed in the meantime. Tftc
I've had a lovely Easter Saturday afternoon ambling around the foot hills - now on the homeward stretch so decided to find a few of the Lolly Scramble series. I found a few in 2013 and haven't been back since - hard to believe it was that long ago.
Unfortunately this cache has been muggled - I replaced the log but the clip is broken; have p.m'ed the C.O.
Thanks for this cache & the effort that you've put in with this series, MacPacMum. I still have more to find after today.

I did a number of caches in this series three years ago but for some unexplicable reason about half didn't get loaded into my GPS. It was sure to be user error. Now I have tried to complete the series but I still didn't manage to get the ones at the west end of the road into the GPS = yet another visit. Three years ago I couldn't find this one but it was no problem to do so today.

The outer was open, so I tried to use the fence to hold it closed - not sure that it will work though. This is probably my most enjoyable day caching yet, I really really enjoyed finding such an array of containers, many of which I have never seen before. I found myself imagining what I migt find at the next stop. This is definately a trail I will bring my grandkids to if I ever get to bring them to CHCH. Thanks so much for the enjoyment I have had today
A nice sunny afternoon out caching where the water would let me! The parent container was open and the inner container on the ground, so I tried to reassemble the best I could. It may need to be checked at some point. TFTC!!
Outer not closing properly so inner was on ground and logsheet mush.
I replaced with a waterproof logsheet. If next finder has a rubber band or hair tie or similar it will help outer remain closed.
Thanks for another smilie.
Hoping to see you at the [Oamaru Geofest](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC6M2V0_oamaru-geofest-2017) during Labour Weekend 21-22 October 2017. Let's all help this a successful event!
Did you know that planning has started for a Mega Event in Wellington in 2018? Check out the details on the [Wellington Event NZ (WENZ) Website](https://sites.google.com/site/wenzgeo2018/home) or visit the event's page on [FaceBook](https://www.facebook.com/groups/590545297801072/).
Thanks to the Cache Owner who has gone to the trouble of creating this cache, determining the coordinates and then averaging them to make sure they are accurate, placing the cache and registering it online for our enjoyment. Without Cache Owners doing their bit, there wouldn't be a fun hobby that we all love - so again a big THANK YOU. For our bit, all we need to do is find and log the cache that was carefully placed for our personal enjoyment. As we log it we should consider that the Cache Owner also needs to maintain it - when the log sheet fills up, they must replace it. When the container becomes full of water, they need to empty it. When the container is broken, they need to repair it. When it goes missing they need to find or replace it. Well..... the great news is we can do our bit too - make sure your log doesn't take an entire page - just a name and date. If full of water, empty and dry the cache as best as possible. Be careful when handling the cache and make sure you replace it where you found it. If it has a bag, seal it. Just remember - the Cache Owner showed respect to you by placing the cache - please respect them and fellow cachers that follow you by being careful with the cache. And if you have a spare log sheet and the cache you are at needs one, please leave it behind. Finally, if the cache does need maintenance, please let the Cache Owner know - you can log a Maintenance Log or you can drop a line to the Cache Owner. Above all - have fun and remember the Geocaching Code.

Wow what a day, started at 7.30 just as daylight was arriving and the misty rain had me worried, turned out to be a great day with a total of 120 caches not the goal I had set myself (next time we are here we will try the 270 in a day again) but still a great goal at 120, thank you for placing and maintaining the caches we found, sorry for the copy and paste logs we had many to find and only recorded if damage or logs replaced.
#3625. I had a work trip to Canterbury on the Thursday and Friday but decided to stay over on the weekend to fit in a couple of big caching days. I am working on the DGSC challenge and need some 50+ days for the bulk find elective. So Saturday and Sunday were earmarked for getting some big totals. Managed to locate about 130 caches over the weekend and about 150 over 4 days. Decided today I would do the lolly scramble series of caches along this road and any other caches encountered. It was a really enjoyable series with well themed containers. Once I got my eye in, the finds sped up as the day progressed. Certainly a very warm early autumn day (high of 29 degrees. I could see this cache from the car as I pulled up. It had blown open and all the contents were on the ground. Signed the dry log book. Replaced where it was meant to be hidden but not easy to keep it closed. May need some extra clip or velcro added. Thanks for the cache.
The container doesn't close so placed it back on the ground below it. It was soaking wet.
We are from Canada and visiting relatives In Christchurch for a few weeks. Started the lolly pop trail last week and we are finishing it today. Thanks to those who set up this trail. It has allowed us to check out an interesting area. Latch on cache container is broken.
Begins our holiday in NZ in Christchurch, we came from Italy to find our son who lives there for two years.
Long trip, but surprisingly we arrived there very tired, almost two days and two nights without sleep, but it took just 24 hours we got used to the new day.
Having Been to Akaroa and Kaukoura, and trail AHHH FRESH, today we decide to make a part of the trail from Kaiapoi to Oxford, we will find many cache, not the other will find, before we left we had decided to devote no more than three minutes for each cache, if it was not passed over it, some need maintenance, beautiful landscape and few cars on the course.
Thank you for suggesting this trail

No longer closes but found cache beneath open container. Needs to be fixed please as we love this trail thanks Xmas Belles x
Great Cache!! Very easy to find!
Unfortunately the cache itself no longer closes to hold this inner log inside, as we found it on the verge, but luckily it was still in good condition! Have replaced it a bit more hidden but easy to hind under the area of the main cache. CO may need to replace or fix somehow.
In Christchurch on holidays visiting family who are also Geocaches and they mentioned this trail. So on our way back from Castle Hill today we decided to try and get some!! We have really enjoyed this series and the thought gone into it! We hope to be back in the future so we can do some more!! TFTC!!!
Unfortunately the cache itself no longer closes to hold this inner log inside, as we found it on the verge, but luckily it was still in good condition! Have replaced it a bit more hidden but easy to hind under the area of the main cache. CO may need to replace or fix somehow.

On a day that started with bright sunshine, then some hail and finally drizzle, a day spent in the Christchurch area doing the lolly scramble series and some others. TFTC.
Nice saw from road so easy find log container was on ground so put back in cache and made sure was closed up
Headed out for a day of caching with Mr. Kiwi, to celebrate my 30th tomorrow. We had planned originally to nail our 400th - but the effects of both recent celebrations and real life in general meant we decided to cruise through the lolly trail, fruit and vege loop and whatever else came our way. It was a great day out together, and we were grateful to the cache owners who take the time to set up and maintain their hides.
So to you all, TFTC!

Quick easy find on my way through on an Oxford and Lolly clean up. These caches have had so much work put into them and I am loving the series. Thanks for the cache.
