Out paddling today with Claudette. No luck, initially, at Feeling Wrecked so headed over here for a look. A quick find!
Next visitor, if you're able, please drop in a new log sheet (small) as the one there is worse for wear.
TNLNSL, thanks for the cache Tronador.
best wishes,
Walw

Visiting the area with some fellow geocachers from Newcastle/Central Coast way. Our main target was another cache we targeted last year, while on the water we made our way to this cache. Signed as Team HAVOC, TFTC
Out with the HAVOC crew today from Newcastle and the Central Coast to seek to complete a very complex 5/5 we’ve been eyeing off for some time.
After a shark scare last week, Mrs G jumped back on board the trusty steed today in good company, while Mr G braved the world of parenting on the foreshore with a toddler determined to try to take a header off the raised embankment. Still not sure who got the better deal.
A second paddle and and a second grab on a glorious day. TNLN TFTC

Full team novo on the water today as part of the contingent of HAVOC/C4 (Newcastle/ Central Coast) geocachers, aforementioned in previous logs from earlier in the day. I've always enjoyed a good abandoned place but especially when it is on the water in the form of a ship, ships (plural) even! Such a rare treat!! Up our way is the HMAS Parra near Bar Island on the Hawkesebury which, if you enjoy feeling wrecked, I can't recommend enough!
We were surprised how peaceful it is on the water right here in such a built up area. I've only kayaked one other time in Sydney Harbour and it was with the CO just a few months ago up around Birkenhead Point and Cockatoo Island. A bit busier around that area but still a great paddle. The water was still and very pleasant today with the weather threatening rain but ending up being fine, just semi-overcast and quite mild. Mrs novo enjoyed the chit chats with Mrs garbageman who happened to spot this cache. The log was signed collectively team HAVOC as we were all present at the site. Fun fact: this is our 1300th find and it so happens that everyone here on this here paddle were also present at our 1000th find. Thanks for a fun day you guys, and TFTC & awesome urban paddle, tronador.

I was out on the water today with a group of cachers from the Central Coast/Newcastle area where we had a rendezvous with a waypoint of another cache. Afterwards we visited this one and *Feeling Wrecked*, with Mrs Garbageman making the find.
Many thanks for the cache in this interesting location.
Many thanks for the cache in this interesting location.
"Feeling Wrecked?" and "Still Feeling Wrecked" are definitely in the top best locations I have every found a cache at! I absolutely love abandoned locations, and have explored a handful in my time. Even better when a geocache takes me to them! I was quite disappointed the caches were not on the shipwrecks themselves, or even inside them, but I am sure there is a good reason for that, I am just an adrenaline seeker and love exploring so I couldn't help myself and got up closer to them, and even boarded one of the ships! (the most interesting looking one!)
I wouldn't have gotten this opportunity or thought to ever visit this location by kayak if it wasn't for these caches however, and I had an absolute blast! I am baffled how these don't have a 100% favourite point ratio as I couldn't think of a cooler place in Sydney that I have been to before!
Thanks tronador for bringing me here, I talked to you after the event about how the logbooks will need replacing, and maybe a general maintenance in general to continue bringing people to this fantastic spot. I wish I lived nearby so I could explore further and maybe hide a few more caches as there is lots of potential! Favourite point from me of course

Took our inflatable kayak out for a trip in Parramatta River today. Started at Ermington boat ramp and headed towards this cache and another one. Wind was not too bad and we progressed pretty good but when we arrived at the site of the first cache wind had picked up and we could not see a good place to penetrate the bushes. We decided to head for this one instead and at the second place we entered the GPS settled down and we know we were close. My wife sitting in the front turned around and told me it was just behind me. We could just reach it but we did. On the trip back the wind changed a bit and we had hard work getting back out to main Parramatta River. Thanx for placing this cache.
We were in the kayak, had a look at the logs, hmm a did not find. We hesitated a bit then decided to go and have a look. Eventually we were within a meter, my hubby said it must be very close, I turned my head and there it was.TFTC

A fairly easy paddle over from the last one and I went in too far but soon spotted it.
I undid the container but the log sheet was really wet. I pulled up on land nearby to sign it but it proved impossible and I had to photograph it.
I decided to walk back and replace it. Not a good idea, as I sunk up to my waist!?! I gave up then and paddle back to replace it between the thick branches.
Getting back to the boat ramp was a real struggle as the wind and flow was against me, plus two rivercats!!!! But I made it!
Another great adventure.

We put he kayak in at Rhodes boat ramp. A bit further than it looks!! After a decent paddle we located the cache and signed the log. Tftc
A small mob went in search of a few T5 caches around the bay. The 4 of us reached GZ from Rhodes and were certainly feeling wrecked once there. Found quickly amongst the camo. TFTC
Don't you love it when a plan works perfectly. I had planned my attack on this series of "wreck" caches a couple of weeks ago to ensure I had the perfect early morning tide to avoid the heat and other sea craft.
A 5:30am wakeup allowed me to be on the water by 6:30am and with the river to myself I headed up Homebush Bay.
After collecting the GCA on the nearby hulk I spotted this container easily. I drove into the mangrove bushes and with a few bush bashes I easily had CIH.
The cache is in good condition and well secured however the log is very damp. (sorry I did not have a replacement )
Great adventure and gets a favourite!!

Number 3 checked this one tide very low no need for boats out we all into the mud to look.managed to find this one retriever got a bit wet but what does that matter against cut toes muddy bodies and some great caches
Another great adventure here, low tide now so we were able to get this one without our boats, this one was a bit harder to find but we managed to spot, happy days even with all the taped up toes from me and DLTurner. Great adventures, thanks again. Another fav given
Number 3. As tide was low we had a look at GZ before dragging the blowups around. Into the mud we go. We all look a sight now. Toes are hurting but feeling good having found these terrain 5s. Now to get some easy greenies.
With the blood bank on speed dial and the ambulance on standby we thought why not.... Lets go get a bit dirtier....is that even possible... Ventured out without the boats and luckily no more cuts this time. Bit harder to spot this little bugger but we spied it in the end..how do we get to that? No stress we got there!!! We really need a shower now. Had a great day and awarding another fave point. Tftc

I really enjoy getting out on the water in my yak, so have had my eye on this trio for quite some time but have been discouraged by the long string of DNFs on 'Feeling Wrecked?'. Yesterday's notification that the CO had done a maintenance run, was the call to action I needed and after checking the tides, planned to be at the recommended boat ramp at 11am.
Seeing the new Parra Paddle published this morning, gave me incentive to get there just a bit earlier, but I stuck with my plan to attempt the wrecked series first. The water was very calm, there was hardly a breeze and it was already starting to get hot. A short paddle across from 'Feeling Wrecked?' and kayak bashing was the order of the day. Soon spotted the little fella and again it took some manoeuvring to get into a good position for retrieval. Added my name to the log and then headed for the nearby GCA cache.

All good with this one, out on a maintenance paddle. King tide today 1.94m I tightened the attachments, plenty of space still on the log scroll, so I left it as is.
Enjoy, the wrecks of Homebush Bay.

This one has been on my radar for far too long.
I do have a kayak but never felt liking bringing it over this way just for a couple of caches.
I'd read that people had attempted this one from dry land, as I was in the area I walked over for a "look".
The water level was pretty low, I had shorts and old runners on so was pretty confident I could get this without getting too wet.......oops, that's not what happened !
I got within a few metres and could see the cache... only a few more steps and I'd be there. It was then that I stepped of an underwater bank that I hadn't seen and was waist deep in the water - how I kept my phone dry, I have no idea.
I headed back to a tree where I could leave my phone and spotted a branch leading right to the cache. It's days like this I'm glad that I'm little and light ......success !!
I earned the terrain rating on this one, I'm now drying off on the nearby bench whilst I decide wether to "look" at the other one nearby !

22/1/17 Found with Jase90.
Jase90 and I had made plans to find a special cache for his 1000th milestone and selected the two kayak caches at Homebush Bay, ‘Feeling Wrecked ?’ and ‘Still Feeling Wrecked’. It was an early morning start to catch the peak of high tide at 5:30 AM. I hit the road and picked up Jase90 on the way through to Wentworth Point, arriving while it was still dark. I have been to these spots before but we needed to scope out the area to find the best access points to drop the kayak in and out of the water. We returned to the car to cover ourselves in mozzie repellent and prepare for the paddle. We hit the water at ‘Feeling Wrecked ?’ as it was starting to become light and spent a solid an hour looking for the cache but to no avail. Perhaps this one has floated away down the Parramatta River?
Next it was over to ‘Still Feeling Wrecked’, where we launched the craft from the Shipwreck Lookout. Once at Ground Zero, it was a fairly quick find, which makes us think the first one may be gone (but then again, maybe not!?). After performing the signing duties, the cache was returned and we decided to disembark just around the corner from the watch tower. An excellent way to start the day and a really fun caching trip, Thanks For The Caches tronador!
Later in the day, I received a notification of a newly published cache that was not too far away, ‘Watts park Multi’, so I jumped in the car and drove over to Ryde. There were a few people in the park, playing on the play equipment, so I waited in the car in the hope they would move on soon. While I was waiting patiently, the Cache Owner turned up on his bike and I went over to say hi. We had a chat out the front of the park for a few minutes. I mentioned I had performed maintenance on one of my nearby caches on the way here, ‘Eastwood County Road #4’, and it was still in place. League13 said they would leave me to my own devices while they popped up the road to have another attempt at it. It was about this time that the families packed up and left the park, so I had it all to myself to hunt for this new Multi Cache. I found Waypoint 1 fairly easily and worked out the co-ordinates for the final stage, made my way over but the cache itself was not so apparent. I widened my search and eventually made a cleverly crafted hide! I opened the cache to reveal a blank log and signed it to confirm a First To Find! Thanks For The Multi Cache League13.

Found at 7:32am with JordsAU.
Today I had one big goal in sight - to find my 1000th cache. It had been a long time coming since starting my caching adventures back in August of 2013. I've had some lulls and I've also had some real purple patches over that time, but when it's all said and done I always come back to caching.
We're a real lucky bunch to be involved in such a great recreational activity that somehow still manages to keep its secrecy amongst society for the most part. I love getting out there and giving it death!
JordsAU and myself had only two caches on the radar for this morning - 'Feeling Wrecked' and 'Still Feeling Wrecked'. We were up for an early start this morning, JordsaAU swinging by to pick me up shortly after 5am. We arrived near GZ still in darkness so by the time we blew up the vessel and mucked around, we had light!
Now admittedly, I had attempted the first of these before but on foot, not a great idea and I'm glad I didn't end up making the find as it wouldn't have sit right with me.
After a DNF at 'Feeling Wrecked' once again after some decent searching from both of us, we headed over to try our hand at the other, lugging the kayak over and dropping her in the water about 200m away from GZ.
After searching for 8-10 minutes, I spotted something likely and I was over the moon to have found this one. The retrieval of the cache was not straightforward though as the hint suggests, I took it on the chin and bashed through the cobwebs and whatever else was in my way.
We really enjoyed the experience and it was great to finally have at least one of these two ticked off.
A favourite point for the adventure! Signed log, thanks for the cache tronador

Yay found it. Geodad was walking right next to it. To get the cache we got off our boat and walked on the wreck.
Used the original boat ramp and paddled under the new bridge. As I did not see any signs I guess this was ok? Although a little choppy halfway on the open water it was a very nice and enjoyable paddle of about 4 km in total. Took the time to enjoy the boat wrecks and spent to much time on the previous cache, Here I made the find in minutes!

I was on foot and got muddy which was so worth it!!! So fun to find this geo : )
We have been out of caching for over a year for various reasons. Back into it and logging some long found caches of which this is one. Apologies to the CO but you will find our log for this date. We borrowed a double kayak and did the pair out here. Took some looking but interesting paddle through the foliage.

Grabbed this one with ultimate84 and another friend while biking in the park. Interesting spot! Tftc.
Thanks for the fun cache, we had to travel our here to make sure that we earned out souvenir for the T5/D5 before it was too late.
Unfortunately, we don't own a boat so we had to follow the opposite of the cache description and made our attempt at low tide. After bumbling through the mangroves, I tightroped out on the branch to make the find.
Thanks for the cache!

At the recent event at nearby souvenir discussions came up and a suggestion to do Feeling Wrecked and Still Feeling Wrecked as the T5 option in the D5 T5 souvenir. Initially the plan was to do these on the first available day but the weather made us think otherwise. It was then discovered one of the crew could not do weekends so again it was pushed back. Some commitments that recently cropped up for Friday saw Thursday suggested only to almost cancel with showers predicted and after some messages this morning decided to risk the forecast. We meet near Angel of a Cache which was the suggestion at the event and turns out to be a good move give the new bridge construction zone. In the water and kitted up we headed off to Feeling Wrecked. KRS was in the lead with the GPSr and docked first. He hopped out and we thought he would make the find so we potted about on the water only to seeing something odd on a bit of fishing line but on further investigation it was not the cache. As the double yak was a little harder to manoeuvre Gatherer Hade and myself landed and had a better look. The container was soon spotted and could have been found while on the yak but ended up in a little over knee deep water and bought the log back for the others. Gatherer Hade confirmed his T5 souvenir as we had already picked up a D 5 ( 7th in the world to get) and a separate T5 earlier, the later being a bit on an unexpected venture to Eves. The signing was done and off again past some more of the old wrecks. We got up a good pace and bow wave in the double yak as we figured the next one was probably on a wreck and a land mark for twitchers was miss identified so we thought we had to be at least 161m away so we over shot while KRS trusted the GPSr and we had to double back about 70m. As we joined KRS his run of cache blindness continued as we pointed out it was almost just above his head. This time we all stayed on the yaks and passed the log around before re hiding. A big sized fish of about 45cm was seen jumping out of the water not too far from us on the way back and once we hit the shore and packed up the geo chat and storys continued. An excellent outing and a fav pt from us which we will give to Still Feeling Wrecked. TFTC.

Kid Ron Satan and bella at waggy had kindly agreed to let me join them on a kayak assault on the two Wrecked D5 caches - meaning I'd get my souvenir.
After a few false starts, due to weather and other commitments, today was the day.
As our meeting point was just down the road from the published coordinates for Angel of the Cache, I picked that up as well.
Top day all round. Many thanks to my two benefactors today.
END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION
Paddled on from Feeling Wrecked? to here. bella and I went well past it, but Kid was right on top of it - in fact too close to spot it as was pointed out to him when we finally arrived.
He made the grab and we completed signing duties. Then replaced and the paddle back to our starting point.
What a nice way to get around our waterways. A favourite here for the series.
Kayaks were stored and we stood around chatting for almost as long as we were on the water.
Finally we all made our respective ways home.
Souvenir grabbed. One cache within 5km of home grabbed. Good company. Can't ask for more.

We paddled on from "Feeling Wrecked" - myself in single kayak and Gatherer Hade / bella@waggy in b@w's double kayak. We passed the smaller wreck and turned the corner. I noticed the tower and commented that we must be near "Twitchers". The other two took off, guessing that SFW must be at least 161m away, although when I checked we were only 45m off. After another short paddle, my Garmin beeped and it read that I was within 5m. I called the others back - we now realised that the tower we'd seen must have been different to, but identical to, the one at "Twitchers".
Learning from what we'd done at FW, we stayed in the kayaks and looked around. After a minute or two, b@w noticed that it was just inches above my head (how'd I miss that? I did notice less paint has come off this one). I retrieved the log, signed and passed it around then fixed it all up. We paddled back to The Waterfront and hitched the kayaks to our cars/trailers, and then hung around for a good geochat, before heading for home.
I enjoyed the adventure at these two tronador; they can share a fave point (allocated to this one). I now qualify for the 10km radius challenge, with the NSW AGM my only unfound within. TFTC.

Decided to have an early morning paddle with my Geowife and Socks and her Geohubbie. We launched in from Putney and headed down river into Homebush bay, when we saw the exclusion zone signs with work on a new bridge being built. What do we do now? Seeing their wasn't working today we snuck down on the far bank. So after doing the other nearby wreck cache we came for this one. This cache proved more challenging then the other cache as we needed to get in deeper for retrieving but with some great balancing moves from Geowife, she soon had the cache in hand. Did the legals and past it onto Socks to sign. Favorite point awarded. Thanks tronador for a great cache, something different.
Cheers

We paddled from Putney to find that the way was shut. But nobody was doing any work, so we skirted the exclusion zone to get the cache, with DKMacca, Mrs DKMacca and Mr Socks. Great spot, thanks for putting a cache here.
Please be aware of the exclusion zone while the bridge is being built.

While in the area for the event, I decided to try these T5 caches. I had read previous logs, and well, wrong or right, it still takes some guts, luck and tides to be right to find this. Plus, I too, don't have a kayak or canoe.
Did this one 2nd and good thing too. While still still low tide, I walked out and saw the cache straight away. Problem! This one IS in the water no matter what direction you come from. I was going to use the trees, but don't think my weight would hold, so I plunged into the water (with my feet) and walked to GZ. Was going to throw these shoes away anyway. Managed to get the cache, SL and replaced. Then walked back to the car with the slosh slosh sound of my soggy shoes and wet feet. Photos show how deep it was. Thanx for another T5 cache tronador. Finally knocked off all the caches in the Homebush area. TFTC.

Was encouraged by yesterday's efforts, so same drill, and yes, I'm still feeling wrecked.
Nice watch tower near GZ, would be good to make a hide there.
Sorry to say I don't own a canoe or anything similar.
Approached GZ but this one a little more challenging than the other. A couple metres from GZ I felt the cold sensation in my left gum boot and now knowing I'll have a wet sock as well. So headed back and removed both the socks and remade my way back. Letting the water fill both gum boots but all for the smiley, thanks Tronador

Despite the fact I have a kayak on my front porch at the moment, I did this one by bicycle. I kept the terrain rating high by wearing my plastic soled cycling shoes to climb along the branches, an effect somewhat similiar to ice skating on a tightrope.
Thanks Tronador

2 caches 1 story.
Ever since these were published I have intended to put the kayak on the trailer and go get them. Today's fine weather and mid-afternoon high tide made for the perfect opportunity. But it wasn't without its challenges. In fact I realised after I left home that I was about to go up the creek without a paddle so had to return to get it. Then I chose to launch as the rivercat was cruising into the wharf opposite and I nearly fell out.
But that is not all. The kayak had been sitting in the garden for a while, and a few creepy crawlies had chosen to make it their home. As soon as I rounded the point a smallish spider started heading towards me and I successfully removed it with a bit of splash. But then a huge black one was soon behind it and refused to budge. I got it off once but it manage to float a few seconds and then run back onto the boat. It retreated to the front and started spraying silk into the air in a desperate attempt to save itself.
Eventually I arrived at Feeling Wrecked, and managed to spot it after a short search. I manouvered the kayak into position by reverse parking, always keeping one eye on the spider. This resulted in a really sketchy signature as I only have one good eye. And halfway during the signing he made a run towards me and the shore but then thankfully retreated again.
Halfway to Still Feeling Wrecked and the spider made yet another attempt to join me inside the kayak and this time I managed to get him on the paddle and cast him into the depths. What a relief! The second cache was harder to find in amongst the mangroves and then parking the kayak was a challenge as well. The signature was less shaky as I was less tense.
On the way back I had a fish almost jump over the bow - all in all it was a really fun experience - I am giving the second one the favourite point! At this point I was quite sore and the toes on my left leg were numb so I abandoned ship along the sea wall and hoiked it up. When I came back from the ramp with the car it was still there.

From Feeling Wrecked we chose to paddle through the delightful patch of mangroves. The tide was plenty high enough to do so and we found it very easy and pretty amongst the trees sprouting up through the water - totally shielded from the breeze "outside". Soon though we were out upon the open briny not so blue and heading towards the next point we needed to weather. Did this with sea room to spare and thence made our way towards the next of the rusting carcasses. As we drew near the lookout bellowed something or other about blowing and we plunged our bowsprits into the verdant foliage. Blondie was spot on as the cache could be comfortably retrieved, signed and returned whist sitting comfortably in our trusty craft. Another top cache, enhanced by the pleasant paddle. There is something melancholy about the forlorn looking remains of what were once no doubt sturdy vessels. Ta Tronador.
A really challenging geocache! Had to bush bash a lot. Slipped a couple of times. Found the branch and almost fell into the water. So rewarding, thank you!
Powering over from the other cache, there was a very sudden and abrupt bang. Looks like we have hit a submerged tree. The engine has stopped - is there another boat to add to the collection of rotting hulks? We lift the engine - there doesn't look to be much damage. Well at least my friend (the owner) says "Nothing that money won't fix" A minute later, and we are moving again, just a bit more slowly this time.
Tie up on a tree, and discover the humorous way that there is quite a drop off in this area - deeper than it looked!

After making the find at Feeling Wrecked, I paddled on to make an easy find here. The 1.7m high tide was perfect for the job. Thanks Tronador for a great mini series.
After having spent some time at Feeling Wrecked? without finding it, we continued along the shore to this one. We soon spotted the cache, and it also gave us some ideas about what we should be looking for at the first one.
When we woke up the weather didn't look too good for a paddle but we decided to press on regardless. In fact it was raining a bit when we were loading kayak on the car. But from there everything went great. The rain stopped before we reached the launching ramp and we had a pleasant paddle towards GZ. When approaching mangroves the cache was spotted and we manoeuvred the kayak for an easy reach (the tide was quite high).
Got CIH and replaced the log sheet as the old one was wet and non-functional. Soon after we were heading towards the original 'Feeling Wrecked?' nearby.
Thanks tronador for a great paddling experience! It was our yak's maiden voyage.

The record sheet was soaked and unusable. Previous finders stamp had just smudged, so I made some rips in the page as my mark. I think it was four along the bottom and five up the side.
The cry wet out oh my god Jesus Christ their is someone with dreadlocks walking on the water.
A crowd began to gather and unto them I said no fishing here. We should protect our waterways
Plus all the fishies here are full of poisons that you bastards have put into the earth.
Then I found the cache to ohh and um and oh shit the water was getting rough and the dreadlocks where bouncing. The great zargs had found it previously and had dropped it and lacking the magical powers of a hippie it became unusable. To make sure people where aware of my presence I made 4 rips along the bottom and about 5 up the side. Mind you the owner will need a trip out to replace it.
Of course any cache that requires visible underwear is a favourite in my books. Helped by the fact that when I made land fall again there was a lady up above in a dress and I can confirm that at least 2 out of 3 people where wearing black underwear their.

Great spot for an early morning paddle amongst the wrecks. Bit of a stretch as the tide was not so high. TFTC
Decided to go on a kayak trip to Homebush Bay this morning and knock off a few kayak only caches on this not too windy, not too hot day.
This was number one on the agenda and all was going well. We'd had a great paddle over from the recommended parking spot, with great conditions of perfect temperature, hardly any winds, and basically flat water. We'd spotted the cache almost straight away and had made our way to it quite quickly too.
And then the trouble started. Because it was lowish tide, I had to stand on the kayak to retrieve the cache. This made the (luckily very sturdy) kayak tip quite a bit as I tried to gain my balance by holding onto a tree branch. I opened the cache and retreived the log in its bag. I passed the lid back to geomum, and got out the pen that I had remembered to bring from home. I tried writing on the log sheet with no success. The pen didn't work, and I hadn't brought a spare. Clever. So I decided to dismantle the pen and see if I could write with the ink. This ended up with me getting ink all over the log and my hands And made me lose the spring. And unless a blotch of ink counted as a signature, this wasn't exactly a great signing of the log.
And then when I thought it was going pretty bad already, I dropped the log. Into the water. [B)] Luckily I picked it up in a couple seconds, but it was still pretty damp. I wiped the log on my leg, and after almost falling over several times, managed to replace it in its log baggy and then put it in the cache, and screw on the lid.
We then kayaked over to where geodad and geoboy had been exploring the wrecks for quite a while now, while we had had all the dilemmas at the cache site. Explored the wrecks a bit more - quite fun - then headed over to the CO's other cache. At that cache we found a pencil in the kayak bag (D'oh) so had to come back to this one before heading back to the car. Signed the still wettish log as best I could with the pencil - but a lot better than the ink splodge!!

This was a tough paddle to get to in today's conditions! The wind was very strong at times and the water was quite choppy, but it was still good fun to be out on the water, and it's always rewarding to find a clean log book.
Once at GZ, the cache was spotted after only a few seconds but a wrong approach to start with, combined with an ambitious stretch, almost ended up being disastrous!
Thanks for another great excuse to get out on the water!
Cheers,
