Thanks for the find!I did not have a container to put it in unfortunately, and no pen on me. I put a rock inside the bag.

27-Jun-24
Cache is damaged by rock slip only lid and logbook remain. Put log in plastic bag but will need new container

Today wasn’t our day. Spent a lot of time sliding on rocks though. Nice place!

We went with my fam and could not find it

The family and I headed to Wellington today for a look around town and the caves. This was the last stop today on the way home, and once we found ourselves at GZ, the cache took a good 5-10 minutes to locate. Once we did, the cache found to be squashed in rocks

Same low, you’ll find it.

Much sock maintenance
Oven full of bullet holes
Slidey breaky rocks

After all the rain we had to take the hard way down, because the quarry was turned into a lake. Very adventurous indeed!
The container is crushed by rocks, stuck and no lid, but the logs are still in fine condition. What a great spot! Thanks!!!!!

Looked around rock slides for ages, 2 sets of eyes, lovely cold weather snd scenery.

12-May-21
What a great spot. Took a while and sore knees to find the cache but eventually located it.

12-May-21
Its a shame people go to this area just to dump their old carpet.
Took a long arm to get this one

12-May-21
We almost didn't try for this one because it hadn't been found since 2019, but, because we'd be doing so well today, we thought we might as well give it a go.
We practised being miners and eventually came up with the goods, but, as previous finders have said, the container was stuck, but, luckily the log could be extracted and signed.
A really interesting spot. Thanks for bringing us here Danthesouthsfan. Worth a favourite point.

12-May-21
Bit of a scramble but we found it although knee pads would have been useful

12-May-21
We thought this may not be possible for old ladies. Walked from the railway line. Towards GZ the ground was not quite dry and would be almost impossible after rain. A long stretch to reach the cache log but we got it. TFTC

Had a pretty good look but no luck

That wasn't easy. Too bloody hot!!! I think I now have third degree burns on my knees and left hand. Okay, I exaggerate.

There's swag in there still is anyone wants to try getting to it. Trust me - don't try in 30-something degree heat at 2pm.

Last time I was here it was a giant pool. Today it was as dry as a Baptist minister. I love the road coming in. I felt like I was doing a barn dance with the railway line. Haha.

A big day of caching between Orange and Wellington and back. Great weather, able to squeeze in a parkrun as well and caches were all found straight forward. You need a miner if you ever want the container back, but lid and logbook accessible

Beautiful area. Sadly no cache found afternalot of rock turning... lots of rickslides

29-Dec-18
Too nervous about snakes to really look under too many rocks, so no luck! Nice view though and you can drive right up to the quarry.

WOW! I can't believe this was here and I've passed either side of it so many times! Very intimidating in the dark.

Unfortunately due to wonderful rainfalls today, the place was flooded so I couldn't get close to the cache. Will definitely be back in daylight and will wave if needed (in daylight only).

Sneaky find while out and about! Thanks for placing! : )

04-Apr-18
Found. Cache squashed and stuck under a recent rock fall. Left the pen back at the car so was unable to sign log book which was retrievable. Interesting old quarry though.

Travelling in the area for a few days. Favourite point for location. Log may be stamped Coongoola or small logs signed CG. SL

Thanks for placing this cache Danthesouthsfan

Followed animals on bikes trail from Dubbo and took slight detour to find this. Found cache well sort of retrieved log but cache well and truly wedged in a rockfall. Some interesting bones nearby with clean holes in them. Reminded me of a thriller novel based in Ireland where a serial killer drilled holes in human thigh bones -luckily these didn't seem big enough to be human!

Found as part of an Orange and surrounds geomission with fitzy_1965, AngelG27 & Sol de Lune (signed as FASS to save time & spaceBig Grin) Top weather, great company and lots of laughs meant for an epic weekend of caching all round! Big GrinCoolBig Grin

We all piled out of the Jeep but it was fitzy and I who scrambled around to reach GZ to get on with the search. We looked here and there before fitzy rechecked a spot I had already looked in and we found the cache firmly wedged in place. Seems like the boulder has slipped perhaps with all the rain lately. Anyway, he managed to get the top off to sign the log and then make the replace. [^]Cool

Thanks for the hide, RYLISH Smile

Fitzy_1965, SpecimenX, Sol de Lune and I (logging as "FASS") headed from Canberra to Orange and surrounds for a caching blitz over the 30-31 July weekend. We logged around 1000kms in the geo-Jeep. I scored around 130 caches for the weekend. The visit was characterized by blue skies, green paddocks, lots of water off and on road, a fair amount of mud, and good company. Still plenty of caches to collect and scenic spots to explore on a return trip. Thanks to my fellow travelers for a fun weekend, and the COs for all their efforts in putting out and maintaining the caches.

Cache number 24 for the day and number 109 for the trip. Fitzy and SpecimenX did the honours this time around, while I admired the lovely location. Photo and FP attached, thanks RYLISH Smile

11287. Headed up to the Orange region with AngelG27, Sol de Lune and specimenX ("FASS") for a fun-filled weekend of caching. Lots of caches found, a few not found, and a lot of laughs had as we toured around over 2 full days as far north as Wellington which resulted in 124 finds for me.

Headed out early again today for a final big run of caches before heading home to Canberra. Next stop for the day on a loop up to Wellington and back. Parked as close as we could then made our way around the 'lake' to GZ. A quick search soon located the cache. Luckily the lid is accessable as the cache is firmly locked in place by the top - rather large - boulder ! Managed to get the log out which is all that matters really. Log signed, log returned and we were off to the next one.

Thanks again RYLISH !! A fun location and approach !

QLD Mega trip 2015 with Sol de Lune. On this almost 400km road trip we drove from Canberra to Stanthorpe caching in all the towns along the way with mostly great success. Around the Mega there were heaps of caches to be done including a few power trails. Despite the weather we got all of the planned caches done.

On day one of our trip we headed from Canberra to Dubbo. The caching was in the second half of the day at small towns and around Dubbo itself. Mostly it went soothly. The approach here was interesting, but the location was well worth the visit. Thanks.

Thanks to all cache owners for placing and maintaining these caches for our enjoyment.

A caching road trip to put web guy out of angst on his recent 'home' releases ... somewhat apprehensive taking the GeoReindeer off the dirt to this ... dirt track, and the up and over of the railway line. Still, it was worth it for the stark rock of this abandoned quarry. TFTC Smile

A short drive off the road and we were in the quarry. Interesting old railway cutting here too.

Looked in a few places as I guessed and left the GPS in the car, while searching another area with the wife, I spotted it 20 feet away.

More history! Cache is in good condition, still a few nick-nacks for swaps inside despite closure of the TB hotel. Quarry floor was a little squishy because of recent rains, but it was still easy to pick my way around the edge.

not a big fan of dead animal graves /dumping areas.
cache was found after a trek

i was looking at the rock formations that the driver was pointing out to me but and on we trailed oops we've gone past. turning around we headed back
ok Bliss Baby wouldn't drive any closer than 50 m so out we trekked past several dead animals and old wooly jumpers with bones under them, around the edges, through the tree branches and over the rocks. Cache was obvious when we arrived.
cache contents checked out we trekked back and off again.

I love the rock formations which is why we drove straight past the entrance to the quarry. once we started going up the right side of the swamp, not the wrong side where all the unattractive dead animals were, the cache site was soon spotted. Ratdog 12 wasn't so keen to stick her hands in so we gave her a stick- was her turn after all. we dropped some swag and a "walk for life" pathtag. retraced our steps to the car and was off to find some more caches.

A pretty safe location for a Travel Bug motel, although it's remoteness might mean they sit for while. The cache was well hidden in a great place although it was an easy find with good co-ordinates. I took Piggy Wig, Rainbow Warrior, Princess Pylon and a Smurf with a dog tag. Thanks for the cache. Left a weroamin token.

I was enjoying the scenic detour along the back roads this morning Smile
Here was an especially scenic spot to detour Big Grin
The view from the quarry across the railway line and creek is worth the journey to see.
Alas the dumped pig and sheep carcass close to GZ and a few piles of rubbish were not Sad

I held me nose as I quickly found the cache.
Retreating back upwind, I swapped a couple of travelbugs and filled in the logbook Big Grin

TFTC !!

PS: I took Katniss the Kitty, and Brainy Smurf TBs and left behind Travel Bug Dog Tag and Princess Pylon TBs Big Grin
