A little off the coordinates but the hint was a good giveaway. All is in good shape with this cache.
Find #666Found while walking Te Araroa - new Zealands long pathway from Cape Reinga to Bluff. Thank you to all the cache owners who place and maintain these caches, and thank you to all the people who help me and others on the way. Signing as LBB as I only bought a permanent marker today After carrying some buckets down the hill I got to GZ. My GPS was all over the place because of the trees but after checking a few likely places I made the find, cache is in good condition
My GZ was a bit off but I think that was just my phone. A nice quick find with Mayalikefire. TFTC
A nice quick find after a wee walk along the track. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I are off on our annual pilgrimage to Auckland to visit family. Up to Northland for a few days, cruised around Russell and Piahia today. Another great day, though a bit windy with squally showers.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. .

Cheated a bit on this one and parked in the Omata Estate driveway and walked down. Have walked thses tracks many times, just never got the caches. TFTC found with Yvettetb
Great walk along a well used track to get this cache. Not looking forward to stairs on the way back lol. Thanks for bringing me here. Quick find. TFGC
With time rapidly running out in the month to achieve the Mt Elbrus souvenir and no chance of the planned trip to Auckland for the now postponed Mega, an alternative plan was hatched to round up the few remaining unfound ones on the back road route to Russell and a few there too.
Found the nearest access point on the main road for this one and managed to get a park in amongst the piles of metal and then headed off down into the bush. Threatening clouds were starting to turn into light rain, but in the bush it wasn't too bad. After walking past one magnificent specimen, I was concentrating on the gps too much, and walked straight past the GZ object. A slight back track and then the cache was a nice quick find. TFTC

1185. 1:14 pm. Everyone else was getting tired to I ran out to this one on my own. Started my search at the wrong beacon but quickly found with a wider search. TFT(110 steps)C.
Up here on a holiday with the side goal of finding as many TMGT caches as we can.
Walking from Okiato to Russell today.
Sat down at the big Puriri and enjoyed the bush. We then went and found the hide at the next one.

I took an early ferry over to Russell to grab some caches today. My GPSr had me far away and I don't recognize trees by name, so this one took me a bit longer. TFTC.
Walked across on the car ferry to do a walk through the bush to get a few caches. Lovely bush walk. GPS a bit out under the tree cover but spied the Puriri and found easily
Today we did the bay of islands coastal walkway. We really enjoyed the nice views of the bay, the wild bushes an the trips with the ferries. But what surprised us most was the amount of caches alongside the path. Thanks for hiding!
Second day of our quick get away from Auckland in celebration of our 10th Wedding Anniversary. We headed over to Russell for lunch and took in some lovely views, oyster farm, swimming at the beach and finished at a winery. Of course this was all interspersed with caching Thank you to all the C.O.’s for maintaining and placing their caches.
Took a steep walk to the cache and passed a doc worker who was checking and re-baiting rodent traps, seems she also knew about the cache. We had trouble locating the Puriri, but it was a process of elimination in the end. TFTC!

Greetings from Tauranga. Behind the Puriri is a rodent trap, no sign of any cache and we didn't want to disturb the area too much. Looked behind a couple of other trees behind the Puriri, but behind them is the whole forest so we called it quits. TFTC
Loving this forest walk. And this gravel distribution project is just what I need back in Picton. May have to adopt it. Snagged and tagged. Cheers
Thursday - day Thirteen - Kerikeri - Russell with The Seagnoid , toby and William. Zara gets to rest up in KeriKeri.
Its another epic 3+ week geocaching adventure with The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and Willam to the Far North. What an amazing place to explore. Lots of walks, gravel roads and sand. Lots of amazing trees, beaches and interesting POIs. Lots of kilometers traveled by vehicle and foot. Vehicle breakdowns, making new friends and catching up with old friends and family. Snagged a couple of FTF's, lots of lonely caches and the odd event along the way. Lots of cache maintenance and replaced caches on this trip. But what an incredible adventure!!. Thanks to all the CO's who have made this trip so memorable..

Really loving this forest walk. Gets a favourite. I like the bucket brigade idea, too, did my bit. But none of this just walk to the next drop off 50m down bit. Took it all the way!
Day thirteen of an awesome, tiring, long, three week holiday geocaching with Taybeedragon in the upper north. Russell. The whole trip comprised of hours of walking on sand, sliding down sand dunes, hundreds of kilometres of unsealed roads, car breakdowns, paddling out to islands, lighthouses, dolphins, goats, events, FTFs, weird boulders. You name it, we saw it. Lots of bisons, lots of cache maintenance, lots of sunscreen. A month is enough. I am glad to be back home. Except that now I have to write up my trip. We averaged just 20 caches per day, but that is still a lot of logging!
Merry Christmas from the Seagnoid!

Found without any problems. Yes, the cache is still there. But I found the box not on the corect place while fall out next to the tree. I placed it on right position. Log book is dry. Everything is ok now. This day I found 20 caches. I walked today the day circle walk from Paihia to Russell via Opua and Okiato. It's nice walking track. Greetings from Slovakia. Thank for the cache.
Maintaining the track so checked on cache. Still there. Log book rather wet so next time I am out with replace with a new one.
What a great walk along here which I unfortunately haven't got time to finish, but I have managed to sneak along a few parts to pick up some of these caches! The track was pretty slippery today, and my GPS was jumping around so the clue was very helpful, TFTC
Magnificent trees. A quick scramble over to GZ from the track soon had cache in hand.Tftc
Visiting NZ from the central coast of AUS for a gig at the Otama Winery. The rain had just hit Tapeka near my last cache so I decided to come down south a little where the rain had yet to fall. Parked at the junction of the road to the winery and the stage 2 walkway for a very pleasant walk down into a tropical rain forest! I had trouble at GZ for a while as my GPS was sending me a bit off but judging by the geotrails I wasn't the only one. Eventually made the find well away from where I was sent. Managed to just beat the rain. TFTC, RussellSchool.

Once I worked out I was looking for a live tree and not the stump I was searching the cache was quickly in hand. TFTC.
We are staying just up the road at a Park Over Property. Decided to find the closest ones. We have seen many Puriri lately on our geocaching travels - a popular hiding spot! Thanks for the cache Russell School.
Very damp in the bush today after all the rain ....it was great to hear the evening bird song as it periodically echoed through the trees ....great co ords and the GPS had me right on the spot thanks RussellSchool for a well placed cache ...all good and dry inside
This day we went with the ferrie to Russell to geocache. It was a wonderful day and the landscape is fabuleus. Two girls from Holland thank you for the cache.
Nearly left this for another visit when I saw it was rated a 3/3 !
Luckily I persevered and it was nice and easy ! Hasn't been visited since May before my visit !
Another lovely tree in a super foresty area here ...

It was off to Russell to pick up a few caches today as I was staying in Ohaeawai for a few days.
It is getting late in the day and the body is starting to object at all the hills it has had to climb today so this is the last one.
Cheers for the cache.

A lovely walk to this one. It was quite a bright day on the road but down here in the bush it's surprisingly dark. Have not been in this area since I was a kid. My parents were friends with the Chalet Owners nearby. Lovely bush, TFTC
Just back home in UK from trip to NZ so now able to log our finds. A quick find here. One more then the long walk back to the campervan! Favourite point for your caches today and thank you Russell School.
Last two caches for us as we headed back to the car ferry and to meet the geo-wife at Paihia. Managed to find a parking spot between the two, and go north for the first, before returning and going south for the other. Ended up jogging most of both of them ... all worked out well.
Cache was quickly found - fantastic to be brought to more of the Russell walkways, and good container - I just have a concern that the paper logs are already damp - a plastic bag would have made the world of difference to the longevity (and reduced maintenance) for these walking track caches.
Puriri trees don't appear down in Wellington, so these far north caches are always interesting - had to google "Puriri" for my first one earlier this year.
TFTC!

Absolutely no idea how gps works here in the rainforest with such a "tree-ceiling"? But it does! Tftc
My last find before taking the ferry back across.
I really liked this walk - have to say that the whole walkway is pretty well done right along the Russell area.
I soon spotted the cache. SL TFTC

Ahhh, much better today along this part of the track, in the nice cool shade. -GC +salty glow in the dark coin
Found as part of my Post Mega northen road trip. Really enjoyed a part of the country I hadn't seen before. Thanks to all those who have placed cacahes to encourage us southerners to come your way!
Found orginally as part of phasevisitor team, now created own account, re-logging as yorkshirekiwi83.
We were up in Russell for the weekend and noticed this cache published as we left Auckland. We figured that the FTF would already have been claimed by the time we got to Russell, so we didn't think anything more of it until we were told at the BOIWW event that this cache still hadn't been found. So we joined forces with tikitour and butchie bum and set off for short and pleasant walk through the bush, where the cache was soon found and the joint FTF claimed by all! A nice spot, TFTC!

Up in the bay for the walking weekend event and found this cache to still be discovered. joined up with phasevistor and butchie bum for a walk through amazing bush, those Lancewoods are intriguing to walk through and saw a couple of magnificent Puriri trees, how lucky are we to have this on our doorstep. Cache soon located and a joint FTF...Dropped off scouting geocoin. TFTC

Over at Russell attending an event. Not long after we gathered it was a group decision to head out and make this a fun combined FTF. Neat idea as always good company and with younger members its a great help to all go explore together . Was nice to re do some of this track as some nice trees to admire along the way. Quick find and sign, then back to the event . Great to catch up with you all.
