We are on our summer holiday driving around the South Island with no real idea of where we will end up each day. We are often drawn to an area that has the potential to give us a few geocaching smilies and somewhere we have not spent time exploring before. In some cases we are revisiting placed that we have been before but liked so much we are going there again.
GK wandered back to find this one. The cache was soon spotted and the log signed and we returned it as we found it.
Thank you for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley

Found it but temporary log so nothing for the bird caches. A dot day today so a bonus as I have Fridays for myself and usually go geocaching. Found 12 cache today plus two not found and two with people nearby so didn’t stop.
This one was missing when I came to look for it just over a year ago so it was great to tick it off today thanks Natalie. TFTC # 11,910
With the Thunder booming overhead and the rain persisting down,we made a mad dash to GZ.Didn't care about getting wet as we were pleased just to get a smilie..TFTH
Right after leaving the campsite we had another stop to visit the two caches on either side of the bridge.
And we found them both and enjoyed the views at the same time.
We did see a bird flying with something and then dropping it, several times, to crack it.

A quick park and grab while out about grabbing a few caches in the Brighton area well bit past Brighton now. Nearly got all the numbers now. Alto this one had no number it. TFTC
Admired the view so we could be sure nearby fishermen were taking no notice of us. Found the temporary log. Signed. About to head home and remembered about noting the number to enable us to complete the puzzle cache. Returned to GZ, did the old "tie my shoelace up" trick. Of course no number there as temporary log. Tftc
Tricky to get this one as there were two people fishing nearby. But we found it fairly quickly while trying to look like tourists taking photos!! TFTC!
I believe this cache is ok following heavy rainfall over last 48 hrs, however roads in the area have been affected. A state of Emergency is still in place - for upto date info on roads go to www.dunedin.govt.nz/road-conditions
A large portion of my caches have been in affected area and I am currently through work/voluenteering have to focus on post flooding.
As I expect it will be at least 1 week until I can do effective maintenance runs to check and replace caches I apologise now if you were hoping to claim this for a dot day/Mary Hyde gold and it is not in its expected state.

As a local, I have put a temporary cache here until owner can replace the one that was lost. Hope that's OK.
Headed down to Taieri Mouth today to get the remaining caches from that end. Found this on the way. TFTC
After someone mentioing at event this appeared to have gone thought as sun is shinning I would head to the nearby beach and do a check on this on.
It had unfortunately gone but as I came prepared I could pop in a new one. This is now a red bison cable tied by lampost

Couldn't track this down today from the top or the bottom. I was a bit distracted though because I noticed there was no phone reception while walking over the bridge and I am supposed to be able to be in contact.
Found with Hevic and Silvachief after a long day of bushwalking. I needed this one to continue the series I'm currently working on, so we parked nearby and walked pretty much straight up to it. Slightly surprised as it seemed a bit exposed, but a find is a find. Left it as it was. Cheers!
Came out to finish this stretch of Taieri Mouth, The walk up the river will be my next conquest this way.

Found easily after missing it the day before completely. Can log as leap weekend. Thanks for home caches.
This took two attempts! Last night my phone dropped all the caches, so knew approximately where it was, but not good enough! After a reload this morning it became very easy. Have enjoyed staying here over night
Found this some time ago while with the Wednesday Walkers, but failed to log it.

last find for the day and the year, thanks for the cache, lovely wee area with wildlife and the boats, TFTC
Found with Chosen1978 on our way to accommadation at Taieri Mouth. Our last cache of the day and of 2015. Had previously attempted to find this cache, so to finally get a smiley is great.
A nice quick find. I only have one more of the series to find and a couple to revisit because I forgot to get the codes from them.
A great start to our Mothers Day walk this morning, packed bag full of food ready for picnic at the top of the hill. We hope [?]
A detour to find this bird now, just in case it flies off again. A lovely spot on a fine autumn morning.
Found today as part of our visit to the Millenium track. Thanks for replacing this Natalie247, we didn't get this one last time.
Found on 21/03/2015.
Nice to complete this mini-series aftre a lengthy gap.

Replaced missing cache. Now mint box size and within 3m of the original co-ords.
Went to check on this today and unfortunately it has gone. Have no more little red containers, so going to put something else together. Should be out next Sunday (1 March) to replace it.
Found with Ephief on the way from Te Anau to Dunedin. Much nicer cache than at the other end of the bridge.
Greetings from Finland! Visiting New Zealand with kobolttti and besides seeing the sights we're also getting some geocaching done.
Had to read the hint to find this one, thanks for the cache!

Since last checking on this it appears the bank has had some damange in the last few months, resulting in the original hiding spot disappearing.
Have moved it 30cm from the original spot and updated the hint.

Managed to make arrangements to check on this Sunday. With have replacement container to hand if needed.
Hunted for this one for ages. No idea where the hell this was hiding. I see there is a few of us have missed on finding this, is there a reason for this I wonder?
We had no luck in finding this one today, went over every thing with a fine tooth comb having four sets of eyes with no luck (?mugggled?)
Nice walk across the bridge. Didn't see any Oyster catchers, but there was a white Spoonbill having a wade through the low tide. Sneaky wee hide, found between cars passing on to the bridge.
Our first cache on an Easter caching trip south. Easily found and the rain actually stopped long enough for me to sign the log. TFTC.
I have no one sea what I was on last time!!! Went straight to it this morning when revisiting with tunfisk and /dev/gc0c. All birds collected now, let's see if we got all the numbers!! TFTC!!

One muggle fisherman drove us up the wall with this one, but eventually it was in hand. Kia ora and thanks for placing this cache - our second find in the series. Love themed caches and your info about the birds is delightful.
A quick easy find once the curious fisherman had finally turned his back, after watching us intently. Thanks for placing this cache.
Was beginning to think this one was going to elude us but a chance look at the right angle and something red was spied. Found with Aoraki Sheep.
A few whitebaiters and fishermen below meant we didn't want to spend too long here but luckily they all appeared to be more interested in the what they were doing and not what we were doing.
