Great day for some caching and exploring new places before taking the ferry home tonight. Loved our time on KI! TFTC!
Whrend unseres Aufenthalts in Sdaustralien kamen wir auch hier vorbei. Danke frs Herfhren und Zeigen dieses speziellen Ortes.
We are currently on a eight week holiday which is mostly spent in New Zealand and Australia. However, the first three days were spent in Singapore as a nice break from an otherwise long flight. This morning we left our hotel in Victor Harbor early to drive to the ferry to Kangaroo Island. We arrived at the ferry way too early but as it turned out there was just one spot left on an earlier ferry. Great, no waiting and more time on Kangaroo Island. Since our B&B is on the other end of the Island we decided to first visit Cape Willoughby. After visiting this magnificent place we drove into the direction of our B&B stopping whenever there was a geocache because caches often lead you to great places. Thus this cache was also visited and the cache was quickly found without any problem. Thank you very much for this cache.
During our two-month trip through New Zealand and Australia, we arrived in Victor Harbor yesterday and today we travel to Kangaroo Island. This cache was found on the way to our accommodation.**ParisLaura**, thanks for the cache.
We have arrived on Kangaroo Island for a 5 day break. We first had this trip planned several years back but that year KI had an extreme fire situation happen and we were offered a refund on our trip which we took. We have waited this long so that the island could regrow and show herself at her best. We have been using geocaching to guide us around and two days into our break we can certainly attest to her beauty. The caching has been interesting and we have many earth caches to write up and send to COs. All the caches we have found so far are in good condition. We did replace one log sheet. SL TFTC
Over in Kangaroo island for a weeks fishing trip with a few caches along the way. Interesting read about the history and a verry old looking boat. TFTC

Geoturtle37 and I decided to take a bit of a detour on our way back to Melbourne after the Feb 29th SA Mega. We have wanted to go to KI for so long and after this trip, will most certainly be back. We could only spare one day and we cached as much as we could but didn't have time to have a good look around. One of us made the find here whilst the other was busy taking photos! Thanks for placing this cache for all to enjoy.
Day #5 Leaping Forward AdventuresIts the final day on Kangaroo Island so posums and I are slowly making our way back to the afternoon ferry before traveling in to Adelaide. Thanks ParisLaura for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy. ----------------------------------------------------------The Ballarat GeoTour ends on 4 March 2024! Well after a whirl wind tour of Tasmania to help with 3 challenges that Im working on, I got back in late Tuesday night then packed the Geowagon and headed off to SA early Wednesday morning to attend the Leap Year Mega and to also tick off some LGAs along the way as well.Well after crossing the border the other day and staying in Millicent, Wellington, Cape Jervis and the Kingscote last night its now time to slowly head back towards Penneshaw to catch the ferry back to the mainland.Kangaroo Island has been on my bucket list for years and Roaming Howie had to squeeze back into the Geowagon put up with my driving and poor navigation for another day.Continuing along with our Geocaching expedition and visiting the Flinders Chase NP in the South West corner of the islandyesterday was one of the highlights of the Island. We will see what we can find on the slow trip back today and I didnt realise that the island so so big and I also didnt realise that Kangaroo Island was the first permanent settlement of South Australia even if it lasted only 4 years.A great read in the cache notes as I was wondering about the term river. This one took longer that it should of as we searched everywhere well we thought we did)The cache was eventually located and we added our names to the log and on to the next one. Thanks ParisLaura TFTC.
21171During our great trip around the world we arrived in Australia after visiting Canada, US, and some places in the Caribean Sea and Central America as well as Fiji. Besides lots of sightseeing, we can't do without caching, of course. That's why we also passed by this place, searched for the cache, found it and successfully signed the logbook.Thank you for hiding and maintaining the cache. Only thanks to dedicated owners is this beautiful game possible.Wir danken alle Cache-Ownern fr ihren Einsatz, denn ohne die Gemeinschaft ist dieses tolle weltweite Hobby nicht zu realisieren.

Goldy and Jimmy are off to Kangaroo Island to see some sights and pick up some caches along the way.
I enjoyed a variety of different caches, seeing cool spots and catching up with GooseyC for dinner on Thusday night.
All caches stamped with joint "Jimmy and Goldy" stamp.
My highlight was the Vivonne Bay Rock Pool, Jimmy's was seeing the seals at Admiral's Arch.
After dinner at the Parndana pub we stopped for a few caches before heading back to our accommodation at American River.
I loved the detail in the flag, having the same amount of stars as US states at the time the ship was built.
Great attention to detail. My favourite cache I did on the island, have a favourite point!
More detailed logs will follow and pictures uploaded once I'm home.
Thanks ParisLaura for this cache, which brings Goldy's total find count to 2481 on the 10th of February 2023.

Owl is on Kangaroo Island with Ostrich, Magpie and Bowerbird to celebrate the 80 year friendship of Magpie and Bowerbird. The one advantage for Owl is that Bowerbird is the Magnificent Muggle and absolutely insists on Owl caching. Of course, Owl is happy to oblige. This was a quick stop on the way to their accommodation and Maggpie took photos while Owl did the search. Both could honestly tell the friendly muggle that they had, indeed, been looking at the ship!
Easy find had to add paper to sign log.

First cache find on Kangaroo Island! Brilliant first day over from the mainland - and a great location for a GZ. Cache itself all good, but the log and contents need some maintenance. Was a stretch to find a place to sign, most of the log has disintegrated. However, loved the hide and left an alien to keep everything company. Replaced as found. Thanks for the cache!!
Great hiding spot and loved the find, but cache contents are in need of maintenance and replacement. Log book disintegrated and almost impossible to find a spot to sign. Cheers!
Found on our family holiday to KI. Nice quick find by the kids here today. Thanks for showing us this place ParisLaura.

My partner and I have come to KI for a 5 day break. It is my first time on the island, and I managed to get some caching in while here. On our return journey we stopped by and made the quick find. I usually wear long pants to walk into bushes like this, but survived in just my shorts. Found and signed and returned.
Thanks for the cache ParisLaura, cache in good condition, returned as found. Find #6330

Thanks for arranging and hiding. We've just arrived in KI. Good to be having a look around the area. Caching with Wollaston and SeasonedBird.
Day 2 of our KI getaway and now we’ll into our second week of holibobs. What a contrast to Flinders!
We drove from Penneshaw to American River via the western cape, enjoying lunch at False Cape winery, beach walks, stair climbing and glorious weather.
Husband wondered if they could have made the sign any lower? Interesting history TFTC

Unnecessarily well hidden watch out or bull ants you need to climb through bushes to find it
Day 6 of our 6 night break on the Island. Our targets for the last full day were the Western area. We had passed this structure on the way in and though there should be a cache here. It wasn't until we started up the c:geo app that we realised there was. Cache is safe and sound. Thank you for the placement of the American Sailors cache ParisLaura find number 8484 on 14 September 2021 at 10:53 am
Great descriptions about the history of the area, the little kids would have fun climbing all over the wooden boat too.
Gee they dont build houses like they used to, that first one lasted much longer than the expectations of todays builds. Oh we see we have to thank Frank Potts for that lovely Bleasdale wine, glad he popped over to Langhorne Creek to get stuck into winemaking.
