I'd say you managed to find out a fair bit about Henry Sanson! I did have a look for his picture and final resting place online but came up empty.Cache in excellent order. I was doing some work for a client today and as they were retired we discussed geocaching while having a cuppa. My client said he has seen one of those containers on the ground while taking the dog for a walk and had it in his shed. He went and got it a nice container with logs in it. He told me where he found it and I was quickly able to determine it was this cache's container we had. I took the container back and placed it in the same place as the new and blank container was. I have the new/blank container to give back to the CO at some stage in the future. This was a strange find today, not often you find the container is someone garage. Thanks for all the work setting up these rail caches.

20-Oct-24
Cache replaced. All good to go again.

20-Oct-24
Stopped & looked but nothing.I checked previous activity & found it has been mugged and not yet been replaced.Sadly my one miss for the day

13-Sep-24
Container has been muggled and needs replacing. Only log sheet left.

Decide to head north today to get away from the miserable Wellington weather. Most of the day was reasonably warm, but occasional rain and strong winds. On the whole the containers were great (2 or 3 inside each other) with dry logs, but the locations were mostly "throw me down" locations with very poor parking (if any) and lots of lunatics in this area driving down side roads at 100km/h+ speeds. After seeing the previous DNF I thought I'd have a quick look. I found the log lying on floor without any container. I logged my name and returned to likely spot, but definitely requires maintenance.

Today we were leaving Whanganui heading towards Lower Hutt. We grabbed a few caches on the way.We had got to the point in the journey when we decided we needed to get moving, so we planned not to find any more until we got nearer Lower Hutt. However we saw this one with its last log. No caches found, obviously couldn't find this one so did a NA log claiming the cache has been stolen !!!!It is there - found straight away, signed and replaced I am sure the CO did take the previous log with a pinch of salt but will be able to eliminate it now (OM log) on seeing oursTFTCTim and Viv - ddm

A small group of us from Team SEAC consisting of Keylev, Stik-A-Crane, Uncle Sam and ourselves had come down from Auckland to spend the long weekend caching in the Manawatu area. The plan was to get as many as possible. Along the way we had some great adventures, many laughs, met some interesting people and found a wide selection of caches. Signed SEAC to save space on the log. TFTC.This was day 5 of our trip and we are on our way north towards home, just a few more caches on the way.A nice quick find here.

15-Feb-23
On our way out of Wanganui I filtered by favourite points to make a few finds as we head south.
With this find that’s Sanson cleaned out, for now. The hint had me wondering until I got to GZ and then out was obvious.
Interestingly the Multi took me to a memorial just across the road about the Trams that ran here.

NZ_B and I are spending the day around the Fielding area with a goal to get over 50 caches in a day for a challenge. Our journey led us here. We did as instructed, most impressively I thought and the cache came flying out. TFTC The Seagnoid, always good to visit another railway location. I enjoy reading the impressive amount of history you add.

Kids were keen to go on a Sunday evening geo adventure so we set out to tick off some caches in the local area.

An interesting little piece of local history, I never would have known.

As for the hide itself, I had a good idea of where to look upon arriving but there was no need, the youngest found it in open air! Log signed and tucked back where it was meant to be. TFT history lesson and cache.

09-Nov-22
I've found a few of this series over the years as I worked in the area or just passing through. Time to tick another few off today. Interesting cap holding the log in a tight roll - very good haven't seen that before but its very effective. TFTC # 18,633

We decided to leave Whanganui and do some caching on the backroads in and around Halcombe and Beaconsfield areas.

This was the first stop of the day after realising we qualified for one of the CO’s challenge caches.

A quick stop here on the way. All nice and dry.

TFTC the Seagnoid!

Thanks.

09-Feb-20
Today was a scorcher! Sunday tiki tour to Sanson for coffee and epic cream horn - you know where... While the others were talking shop I went for a quick grab. Log was quite wet and had a musty odour. Dried it out on dashbord and gave it a new bag and a teensie swag of spaghetti Smile. Lovely cache, easy find - thanks heaps!

02-Feb-20
Day three of my road trip from Auckland to Nelson in my newly acquired convertible cachemobile. Finding a few caches along the way. As I'm familiar with most of the Marlborough and Nelson Rail Trail caches (except the most recent ones which were published while I've been out of town) I thought it would be nice to find a few north island ones. I had just found a stumpy cache in Sanson and noticed this cache on my GPS. Walked along the road to GZ and had a look around. Checked the hint and changed my approach. Ah ha! Got it. TFTC, Biggles.

29-Jan-20
Found this one lying on the ground so returned it to its hidey hole. The log is pretty wet.

Visiting town for the New Zealand Blokart Champs at the nearby track.
Had time to kill before registration so here I am.
This was a quick find and quite possibly the first one of the Manawatu Railway series for me so far.
Youve gone to great lengths to keep us on the straight and narrow with a very informative page.

Will have to tackle the rest of them on another trip to keep on track, cos I don't want to derail my plans for this trip. I will be running out of steam as the competition goes on and I'll probably go off the rails if I cache in the evening.
I'm all punned out.
Tftc

Today the next tour with Vesperugo. It is a wonderful Region and we liked it so much to walk, explore and search the boxes. First we visit the Flohmarkt, than search the box.
Thanks to the precise coordinates we could find quick.
Many thanks to hide the box, show us the place and do the maintenance.

Quick grab after nearby event, on arrival at GZ cache was on the ground, partly covered by a rock but after signing we replaced it on what we assumed was it’s intended perch as suggested by the hint. TFTC

10-Jun-19
Found on my trip north enjoying the caches in the area

19-May-19
For quite some time now I had been wanting to have a crack at doing all those tempting caches around the Ohakea Airforce Base, and if possible to take a drive down towards Tangimoana to check out the plethora of green dots around there too, and thanks to the great weather and a free afternoon, today became that day.

So 4 hours later, with the sun setting, I was on a roll and just wanted to grab "a few more" whilst I still could. Geocaching isn't addictive eh! Smile

I was really hoping I would be able to find this one, as it would be my 100th find from this CO, which would make me qualify for a particular Challenge Cache in the Wairarapa (as I already had 100 finds from 2 other CO's).

I was able to park opposite GZ and saunter across to make the find, as there was actually not much traffic around at this time of the evening. The cache was a quick find, and as everything was fine with it, the log was signed and replaced quickly before finally heading off home.

Thanks for the cache.

29-Dec-18
Day 3 of our New Years trip up to the North Island. This was find #16/100 for the day and #85/526 of our trip.
Today was a numbers run of mostly PnG caches. We started in Palmy and set off to see if we could Spell, then headed up to Bulls and after that rounded up a few Smurfs, Herbs, Airplanes and anything else in the way until we came in to finish the KAS trail we started in Oct 2016. Another nice quick park and grab for the numbers here.
Thanks for the effort involved in placing and creating this cache for all of us to enjoy. Smile

07-Dec-18
I made the poor dog walk up and down with me until there was a break in traffic. I knew what I was looking for as soon as I got to GZ which made a nice change!

11-Nov-18
On our way through this morning heading back home up north. The farmers market was on - looks great. Quick find here, TFTC
