But we will give it another go tomorrow! Not all of the crew were down for a hunt around in the heat today...Great space for a cache.
Dnf searched 4 times now. Had a fellow geocacher who had found it previously confirmed it is missing.
this log really should be a DNF, but only because I attempted this at 9pm with my cellphone as a torch (although the light on it is bright!)
I searched for about 15min before giving up. As I was starting the car, a train rumbled past. If I had of searched for a few more min, I could have stayed under the walkway while it went over!
I'll be back sometime during daylight hours to have a decent hunt...

A thanks to the previous finder as a previous DNF was able to be turned into a smiley as cache was made slightly easier to find this time . I am very happy to say that this one has been knocked off as i hate DNF !
2nd to last cache for the day while out grabbing few Feilding caches. Was not sure where to start looking for this one given the concrete works but soon spied a familiar looking item which turned out to be the cache. Did the paperwork and out of there. Thanks for the cache SetuCurst.
on a birthday trip around the north island, very well hidden and a very cool little spot TFTC
#6867. We came by Makino Road this Saturday evening after dinner. GZ was all quiet when we visited. Found after a short search. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log. (#140 of 144 @ 20:43)

After being interrupted by muggles last time we searched, and logging a DNF, we were back in Feilding today and determined to find this one. Today there were n muggles in sight and we made a nice quick find - the container was what we were looking for last time, however we had been looking in the wrong place. Found today with purply and darthcacher1.
After a few minutes searching I started to think about a certain type of cache container that would suit this area, and sure enough that was what I eventually found... Thanks SetuCurst
B looked one side P looked the other side. B came up with the good a couple of mins into the search. Cool cache fitted right in. TFTC
A quick, easy find... at least it was for my non-geocacher companion, who handed it to me and said "Is this it?", before I'd even really had a chance to start looking! Tftc.
Edit: Aforementioned companion is now known here as seeki89. Mwahahaha another convert!

Excellent camo, I spent almost half an hour searching for this one!! Well deserving of a favourite point because of it
Tried to find this today, but had no luck. Gave up when a group of muggles came through. Will have another look next time we are in Feilding.
Nice one. Took my time looking in a systematic way and hey presto there it is. Covered it up slightly to make it blend in even more. Worth a fav. TFTC
Luckily i had the main sidekick aro other wise we would of been here for hours and... Thanks for the cache guys( geo cache is fun)
the geograndkids looked in as many nooks and crannies as we could but didnt find anything
Been here a couple of times now with no luck, there are just so many nooks and crannies....
Not found on a >41 hour non-stop geo roadtrip from Wellington to Auckland via Cape Palliser and a whole bunch of skinny winding Wairarapa roads, in the esteemed company of slieschke, mike-miss and cretti. We picked up our rental car, dubbed the Idiot Box, and assumed our new identity as Team CRT, shortly after 8am at Wellington Airport and headed north.
We first headed to Porirua Harbour to take on the resident Kiwi geo art trail before heading over to the southern Wairarapa and Cape Palliser where we visited the light house at about midnight and tried our best to avoid seals while searching for a few caches along the southern most shore line of the North Island.
We headed up past Greytown and Carterton, focussing on caching areas west of SH2 this trip. There were some highlight caches, particularly around Carterton (I think) and some way up in the hills looking over the whole area from Masterton to Martinborough.
It was daylight again by the time we hit Masterton and we decided to hit fast forward and skip a planned area (will just have to come back again!) and shot through to Palmerston North where we got back into the swing of things.
We took the back-road up to Mangaweka, discovering some really fanstastic little places along the way, like a picnic area and waterfall way down in a canyon, and then we continued via Taihape, across and up through Owhango, to get some really old caches, and then north through Te Awamutu and back to Auckland to drop off the Idiot Box at the airport.
And of course, despite it then being after 1am on Monday morning, and raining kinda heavily, slieschke and I couldn't resist driving over to the North Shore for an FTF on a cache published earlier in the evening.
Thanks to all the cache owners along the way, even if we couldn't find your cache - all part of the adventure! Sorry for the copy/paste log, but just too many caches to remember *all* of them individually.
Ran into some other cachers here. Had a good look but had to give up and move on...

A plan was hatched for yet another extreme, fly down, drive back caching weekend from Wellington to Auckland. This time, Cretti and slieschke joined in on what turned out to be another epic road trip with myself and funkymunkyzone (our third trip this year).
We all met up at Wellington Saturday morning as i ended up being on an earlier flight to the rest of the crew. Jumped in our rental which happened to be a Ssangyong SUV this time round and headed straight to Porirua Harbour to hit the Kiwi GeoTrail. From there on, we zig zagged our way through Wiararapa to Cape Palliser, back up through Martinborough, Masterton, Ekatahuna, Pahiatua, Palmerston North, Taihape, Te Awamutu and back home to Auckland in the early hours of Monday morning.
To save time and log space, we stamped the logs as "Team CRT" travelling in the idiot box for the weekend. Lots of laughs were had over our 1500km+ / 41 hour road trip which consisted mainly of narrow gravel roads, some of which had spectacular scenery and views. Sorry for the copy/paste logs as its now all abit of a blur having only a few short naps in between. Many thanks to all the cache owners who have placed caches for us to find on another epic little adventure.
Bumped into some other geocachers at GZ trying to spot this one too. Spent abit of time here but couldn't find so had to settle for a DNF unfortunately

Attempted in the company of Cretti, funkymunkyzone and mike-miss on a crazy Wellington to Auckland road trip in the idiot box. We traveled via the Kiwi GeoTrail in Porirua, the Wairarapa including Cape Palliser, the Manawatu, and back to Auckland via the western side of the Central Plateau. Signed as Team CRT. Despite very little sleep the weekend was a blast!
Bumped into TaylorFamilyFeilding here but we couldn't spend much time looking as we needed to keep moving so had to leave this unfound. Good to see they funally found it!

Team CRT - traveling in The IdiotBox - For the first time, I have joined in with the mad crew of: FunkyMonkeyZone, Slieschke and Mike-Miss in a mad 40 hr caching drive from Wellington back to Auckland.
We're into hour 31.
Only had time for a quick look. We failed. DNF.

Couldn't find it, but did find more geocachers looking for it too. Lol. We will be back though
Woohoo! Found it as soon as we got here this time. Really good hiding spot too though.
Our 3rd of 3 finds on a walk on a nice winters night. Love the container. All safe. Thanks.
A caching day alone while Mrs Firewoof is at work. Found the log and the bottom part of the cache container but the top half is gone. Put back where I found it with a stone on top. TFTC
Needs urgent maintenance, container is missing completely, only log and lid remain..... out in the open
Found this fairly quickly as all that was remaining was the log and the bottom "lid" of the cache, needs urgent maintenance to replace the container.
Searched for quite a while before finding this one. Once we started searching the correct area, it was a quick find.
Thanks.
Thanks.
An interesting little subway, which we searched for some time, before expanding our horizons a little, and finding the cache, with markhnz. We were disappointed no trains passed while we were there, especially as one did go by about 10 minutes later. TFTC
Found it, forgot the pen but decided to have a lookie. I don't get why the tape was there, is it meant to hold it to the paper? If so it needs new tape. Will be back to sign my life away.
Walked pasted this cache today so I thought I'd check on it. Yup, still there. Trackable visit too.
This was a bit too high for the kids who are busy keeping track of whose turn it is each time we stop for a hunt. Retrieved by z1mbo dad instead - a well hidden cache, we were lucky the sun was shining just at the right angle to see it easily. A new log sheet is needed - we started writing on the back. Just as we were leaving a train engine came thundering past and gave us a bit of a wake up! tftc
Came here on a weekend trip to the Manawatu. Definitely a well hidden cache and it took me a little while (a decent torch helped) but fortunately I had the time and I wasn't giving up. Needs new tape on the bottom or better still a new bottom. Signed log, TFTC
Good hide. TFTC

No luck here, spent ages looking, found loose blocks but nothing behind them.
yes, a 101 places to put a hide but luckily Mr RiffRaff spotted it quickly and we were on our way again to clear up some more Feilding caches (bagged a respectable 15 for the afternoon before visiting Mrs RiffRaffs dad). TFTC
101 Places to hide a cache. Took quite a while to find the little bugger. No trains passing overhead, thankfully. TFTC
Sure are a number of possible hiding places, but luckily found it quite quickly. Didn't notice a muggle at his mail box, across the road until we came out, but he seemed to old & doddery to be bothered by what we were doing. He didn't give us a second look! TFTC
went out there a day or two ago on ly to realise , as i got nearer, that i had dound this one a week or so ago. thanks
Out and about caching in the Manawatu, a quick find.
Thanks for the cache SetuCurst

#6635. Lots of potential hiding places, so was pleased Troodles spotted it quickly (GZ was damp in places). TFTC.
Found in the second place I looked, or should I say, groped. A woman in the house opposite was gardening but fortunately was not taking any notice of us. TFTC.
As I approached GZ a very loud train roared passed. Needless to say I waited for the train to do it's thing before hunting for this cache.....I ain't arguing with a train!
After a couple of 'nope, not there moments' I turned back to the gps and it said 'just over there!' so I followed the gps and it lead me straight to the cache (I love it when that happens!). I've found a few of these hides before and I really enjoyed this one.

Chose the right street to approach as the tunnel was deep in water!
A quick find with MJMNZ

A day spent geocaching with JonoS to complete some of the new caches around Feilding. Found a couple of puzzle caches and seven traditional caches and 2 did not finds which was frustrating as spent the most time on them.
Had been this way a few weeks ago doing the Manawatu caches. Soon spotted the cache in its neat hiding hole and replace the signed log carefully in its container

Great little hiding spot! Train went over while I was there which was quite a fright found myself ducking for cover.
Met up with spudnz for an after work cache raid and, he'd already nabbed the blighter
Still left me the find and a nicely concealed cache
TFTC, SetuCurst, a few more left for us in Feilding

It took 3 or 4 attempts to find this one. Decided to call in reinforcements to help this time. So I biked over and waited for Capperz to turn up. As I was waiting, I spotted a place I hadn't searched before. And what do you know, there it was! Cleverly hidden. TFTC, Feilding finished off, again!
Scrabbled about, and was about to give it up, when 6 yr old Alice announced a spot she reckoned was worth a go...out of the mouth of babes, haha.
Took a bit of looking before I spotted it. Bit of a 'shared' walkway by the looks of things.

Didn't think we would find this one after searching all the obvious places, however Jr Cacher #1 spotted something and came up with the well-hidden cache. I can imagine it would be quite an experience to be under there when a train went over, but the goods train passed about 10 minutes after we had left. TFTC.
A quick find on our second attempt - GPS much more settled this time, although the cache was also hidden away much more than we'd have expected for this type. Quite awesome when a train rushes over while you're standing just below! TFTC
[green] Just about spent all day on the bike, finishing with cycling over towards Ashhurst to sus out a new cache (The owner was there, so it's going up for review tonight!!), then back to Feilding, with a big headwind. Must be my slowest trip to Feilding so far. Stopped into to see Swaybars69 and we cycled off to do this cache together. I am amazed this underpass is here. Or rather, given that it is here, that there are not more of them.
Fast cycle home (now a tail wind - yay!). Thanks to SetuCurst for making it easy for me to keep up my streak. My original plan was to cycle to Levin. I'll be back here tomorrow!
Streak now 98 days long! Woohoo!

This was in exactly the area I expected it to be. We had found this walkway when cycling past, briefly thought of putting a cache here, but put it in the 'maybe later' basket. So thanks for placing it, so we can have the fun of finding a new Feilding cache instead! If I lived nearby I would have played along this railway land a lot - lots of trees and bushes for hideouts and pretend play. I cycled here from home and found it with The Seagnoid on this pleasant, but windy day.
After looking for around 20min with no luck kaleb soon had it in hand. Lucky no muggles out walking or rain to be had it was easy to sign and replace the log. Tftc
9.31 - Call from the lounge from Mr 2Wombles - "New Cache, 10 miles away (16 k's) - do you want to go??" Then two more!! Let's go!! This was the scond of the three FTF's for tonight, with Mr 2Wombles. Thanks SetuCurst for these new caches.
