Time to archive this one for a couple of reasons. This was one of my favourites but I am...
1) Sick and tired of people doing the wrong thing and moving the cache to "somewhere safer". Read the terrain/difficulty. If it's too much then don't do it.
2) The game has changed and not for the better.
BTW, to those tools who go around sticking their poxy stickers inside other people's caches, time to remember the game isn't all about you, no matter how much you think it is.
Time for this one to go.

A welfare check is required of this one prior to letting it out of its covid isolation. Intend to do this within the next week or two
Due to a rise in Covid-19 I have made a conscious decision not to undertake cache maintenance as I feel that it doesn’t fit one of the reasons for being out during this pandemic. As I work in Melbourne in an emergency service but live regional I will not be putting myself or my community at risk.
I therefore am disabling all of my physical caches for the time being. The caches them self will be left in situ.
I won’t be deleting logs or anything like that and I intend to enable them again once I feel that my safety or that of my community won’t be put at risk.
I apologise for the inconvenience.

Did an arm workout to see if it had been replaced from all the previous activity here as there was no sight of it near the bottom anymore. Nothing to be seen anywhere, guessing muggles have taken it
Out with my daughter SowaMLE and my muggle friend in St Arnaud after having a nice lunch nearby on the Main Street. I remembered I missed the opportunity to find this cache when I was up here last at last years Mega, so today I returned to find it.
Well I was disappointed reading the recent log entries, especially by the last few that claimed the find here of a damaged and logbook less cache on the ground. The others before them opting to write notes, and others mentioning maintenance required, yet no maintenance required log posted.
So I found the damaged container at the base of the tree at GZ. I could see the huge hole in it and indeed the logbook missing. Before I came here, we actually stopped at the nearby shop and bought a new container and I carried some spare logbooks too.
So after singing the new log sheet I put in the now new container, I had SowaMLE return the cache to its original hiding place. We took the old container away with us and sent a message to the CO of what we had done here.
The weather has been truly amazing for us today with the sun shining in the sky. There were a few muggles riding their bikes near the stands in the distance and a muggle walking her dog on the trotting track.
Thank you for the cache here strange quark1

Maybe an enquiry is in order, the probable cache container was lying on the ground empty as noted by earlier visitors. Of course i read that later.
This very well may need maintenance. Like the previous log, we found a sistema matching the description on the cache page by the base of the nearest tree, empty and broken. As such not claiming the find.
Container empty and on ground so cannot claim a find. Mr Strange needs to check this one.
There’s a black painted sistema very much down. I’ve left it at the nearest little tree under a bit of bark.
We were out and about during the St Arnaud Mega Event and had the fun of finding this cache, thanks for placing it here for us to find. TFTC

Cache was found this morning by myself and Ozreg, but we did not have a pen on us, so by the time we went back to camp to grab a pen, the cache was missing. Special note, we were with other cachers yesterday and we all noticed that the cache was up ontop of the pole
Doing some post mega caching today and this was one we found.
Cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

I pulled up here and jumped from the running up the hill and starting my search in the wrong spot.
Then when I looked around I spotted the hide.
Well fun it was looking here and there for the best postion.
I was soon signing the log with no protests today.

Found during the St Arnaud MEGA event.
Great weather and an even better time geocaching.
Thanks for the hide here it was much appreciated.
We had wanted to do this for a few visits but could never reach it.
When we saw someone had moved it so it was assessable from the stairs we scooted up and signed the log!

Our Sunday geocaching was in two parts. Firstly a run around the town and the nearby fire tracks punctuated by the GIFF event and finished off with a few more on the highway towards Ballarat before making a freeway run for home. Another great day and some wonderful caches. Thanks from D & HA B-A.
19,530. Found with minniek during our epic visit to the St. Arnaud region for the 2019 Victorian Mega Event.
Day 2 - We headed out after breakfast for what we knew would be a great days caching. After the GIFF Event we continued on caching. The drive around the area was a lot of fun today. We spotted the cache and up minniek went. Many bruises later the log was signed and the cache was replaced.

Our last day in St Arnuad as we head out in the morning to melb to fly back to Tassie, so it was grab a few of the local caches we had overlooked and a couple of series's we had heard good things about.
This was the Mega trip that started out as a simple trip to St Arnaud for just the Mega and turned into a mega road trip starting with myself and GooseandEgg flying into Adelaide to collect a rental 4WD so we could drive an indirect route to St Arnaud and then on to Melbourne so we could fly home again.
The Goose had put a lot of planning into the trip so we could both complete or get close to completing our D/T grids, collect a number of good interesting caches and cache types we didn't have many off.
For me this was the best organised Mega I have been to, the stand out was how the committee had managed to get the whole St Arnaud community to welcome us all to the area, just about everyone we meet knew what we were there for and I had no awkward moments explaining what Geocaching was.

Out caching again with gabs1963, we decided to hit some caches neither of us had found. We had a great day making finds! Thanks for placing the cache strange quark1, the town is awesome because of you.
One more before we leave the park for the last time. As Mr Squiggle used to say 'upside down Miss Jane'. With the security blocking the stairs it was a matter of the backward/upside down climb.
Thanks strange quark1
When planning the St Arnaud mega trip I was keen to incorporate some missing D/T’s from my grid. Stainless steel rat suggested flying to Adelaide ‘on the way’ and driving across so a route was planned and a fun week of caching began. I cherry picked in my planning so as not to run out of time for the ones I wanted, and we added a few on the day if there was time. We met up with various teams along the way including a planned rendezvous with Tassie Trekkers in Kaniva for a fun days caching. I ended up with around five hundred finds (including labs) for the week, and still had plenty of time for socializing along the way. It was great to catch up with some old friends and of course make new ones.
Special thanks to the St Arnaud mega committee for a great weekend.
Fitzy_1965 and I arrived in St Arnaud yesterday afternoon. Tagging along were two of my geokids, death_killer & my_name_jeff_1.
Day 2 - Up early for breakfast, registration and a fast paced pathtag swap before heading out to pick up lots of smileys. Stopped for the GIFF event, now to keep caching. Quick find here today but getting to the cache was harder.
With the easy way blocked, I went up on the underneath side and came away with lots of bruises for my efforts.

A few days earlier we had come up here and written this one off, but thanks to some friends who showed up on Sunday as we were having lunch, we were finally able to get it.
With becknmonts, day1976, gabs1963 and my sister Nakarra, we managed to get this cache with my sisters climbing help and Becknmonts ladder.

After the GIFF, I had a few minutes to grab this hide which eluded me during the other days, and as there was not anyone around, I took a risk and did the under hand climb, signed the log and replaced, under the watchful eyes of my wife, she thinks I am really MAD now
I'd just caught up with my regular caching partner and she was about to attempt this one with someone else who had some pretty adequate tools. I joined in and watched, but my name is in the log book. TFTC!
Found on the last day of this year's Vic Mega event. but not my last day in St A. I'll be in the area for a while looking fo all the Caches I didn't find over the weekend.. TFTC.

This weekend was the St. Arnaud Mega event and I was looking forward to hitting the road for a few days doing some flat out caching, visiting many new and amazing places and catching up with lots of caching friends. The event was a great success and heaps of fun. The caches provided by the local cachers were, in many cases, absolutely mind blowing (FUF009 caches most notably). All in all it was a great weekend, very warm weather and lots of caches found.

Found during a trip to St Arnaud to attend the Mega event.
FeatherWaite, gridge98 and I left Adelaide on the Thursday, taking a circuitous, but scenic route to St Arnaud to pick up a few caches in some other Victorian LGAs. We met up with Freddo and Davidwazza at the event that evening and teamed up to complete a couple more caches that night together before camping out of town.
Over the next three days we cached very solidly in and around St Arnaud, finding a diverse range of Traditional, Multi, Unknown, Virtual, Letterbox, Wherigo and Earthcaches as well as attending all the events associated with the Mega. We also managed to complete all the Lab caches over the weekend. Logbooks were signed D.E.F.F.98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, FeatherWaite, Freddo and gridge98).
On the Sunday afternoon, after the final GIFF event, FeatherWaite and I began making our way back to Adelaide, picking up a couple of caches before camping in the Little Desert NP. The following day we continued towards home with a side visit to Mount Rescue to pick up a few caches along the tracks there.
Thanks to all the cache owners for placing and maintaining the caches. They included a huge variety of containers, hides and puzzles, many of which were very clever and/or amusing and had obviously taken considerable time and effort to construct. Thanks also to all those who organised the Mega and the associated events. I’ll be looking forward to the Mega at Millicent in South Australia next Easter!

It's that time of the year again, Victorian Mega time, so its off to St Arnaud for myself and the ladies of FurfacesLL. A long road trip ahead, heading off Friday morning and getting home late Monday night and a fun filled weekend. We found many caches of all kinds of variety.. Trads, Multis, Puzzles, EC's, Virtuals, Letterboxes, Wherigos, Events, Cito's and of course, the Mega itself. We enjoyed the weekend and there sure are some unique caches here in St Arnaud, we still have plenty left to collect, so may need to coordinate another trip this way some time.
After a big day out on the trails as team FROG, we had dinner and then the FR and OG went seperate ways. We continued hunting down as many caches as we could before heading back to Bendigo where our accommodation is. The only "muggles" around tonight are those ones with GPSr units in their hands
Thanks for the hide strange quark1 And thanks to the FFLL ladies for another amazing trip away

This was our first physical cache found at this years Mega. We were walking around the site completing all the lab caches in a group that consisted of Neville_Devil, AusFox;, Crack'n'LeeLee, 2Beezand the 2A's. This one caught our attention so headed to GZ. There we met and traded PT's while the log book was being signed.

After the Mega kicked off and while waiting for the crowds around the lab cache tables to die down I took a walk over here where I had the place to myself and managed to climb high enough to grab the cache.
A fun challenge thanks

Found as part of our trip to the St Arnaud Mega event. On Day 1, e.gregory1, gridge98 and I left Adelaide on the Thursday morning, straight after the Earlybirds event in North Adelaide. We travelled a long and circuitous route via Bordertown, Nhil and Warracknabeal to find caches in 5 additional Victorian LGAs that I had yet to visit (namely Buloke, Loddon, [Greater Bendigo - I’d previously visited], Mt Alexander, Hepburn and Central Goldfields). On Days 2-4 we met up with Freddo and Davidwazza. As a group we systematically completed each of the many series around St Arnaud and found all other caches along the way, signing the logbooks as DEFF98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, Freddo, Featherwaite and gridge98), as well as attending the events and completing the Lab caches. After the Mega, e.gregory1 and I headed back to Adelaide camping out in Little Desert NP overnight. On Day 5 we had intended picking up caches around Mundulla and Mount Monster but a last minute change of plans saw us head into Ngarkat CP instead, for a solid drive and a few extra rewarding cache finds. Many thanks to all the cache owners for placing the huge variety of caches around St Arnaud and to all those who organised the Mega and the fantastic weekend away. Thanks for the cache strange quark1!
WOW! What an amazing MEGA location with a lot of friendly faces and a huge variety of quality cache types set around a fantastic location with perfect weather.
I teamed up with Simsfamily and Neville Devil to spend two days caching around St Arnaud.
Most of our logs were signed Aus, Sim, Nev or variants to speed up the process.
While doing the lab caches, this one couldn't be left unfound.

After arriving a day later than planned at the Mega we were keen to get some caches under our belt as well as check out the Labs. I think q1 and lb had previously seen this one was here and waited for us to arrive so that GMelb could do the honours. Cache was located and signed or stickered and replaced

Today was a big day for Michells&hound and me as we had an early start with the GeoVenture 2020 Event in town, then tackled the StARS series along with a few others that we passed, and the remaining caches of the BW series that we didn't get to yesterday. Then it was a CITO in the Hard Hills, some more caches, the Dinner Event back at the Showgrounds finishing with a couple of night caches. [^] All in all another fun day with some good numbers and quality caches found.
We had finished at the event and met up with Aussie M & M, mogni and sir_spectre to go and get a few more before calling it a day (or night) sir_spectre made the retrieval look easy, but we were lucky he was with us as we would not have been able to reach the cache.

We teamed up with Rapidlywild and headed down from Canberra for another Geocaching Victoria Mega, we arrived at our accommodation in Bendigo on Friday afternoon / evening and checked out a few caches in the area before retiring for the evening. On Saturday morning, we had a pleasant drive across to St Arnaud, arriving at the event as the opening ceremony was wrapping up, and the lab caches were released, so we joined the frenzy with the masses solving the cleverly constructed lab caches.
After both trails it was time to farewell out FROG friends and continue caching with Rapidlywild.
Collecting a few more around the area then started our trek back to our accommodation in Bendigo collecting caches along the way.

Having spotted a string of cachers attempting this one and coming back empty-handed, Owl and Sushilord carried their TOTT and found it easily. (Helps having a prior finder!)
Day 4 staying in St Arnaud area B and B
Found with mogni and aussie M and M after doing the neaby challenge series and the star series, plus the newly realased TLT series. quick find.
Came over to the 2019 mega in St Arnaud with Mogni. We where joined by jj52, Aussie M and M plus others at different times over the mega weekend. Many caches where found over the course of the 8 day trip. Targeting multi's on the way there and back plus the challenge trail in Mount Beckworth reserve. The creative trails around St Arnaud where the highlight of the trip.

Attending the mega at St Arnaud allowed Touchstone7 and me a good opportunity to do a lot of the caches in the area. Having recently taken up metal work, and hearing about some of the really cool containers, I was very keen to go out looking at some of the caches we'd heard so much about.
With the number of cachers (and caches) around St. Arnaud, we were never far from someone and the line "there's a cacher" from either Touchstone7 or myself proved quite the catchphrase.
Thanks for the cache, strange quark1

I was visiting St Arnaud for the mega event but having made a pretty late decision to attend we were staying a long way out of town. I let the rest of the family sleep in and arranged for a 6.30am meet up with SirJ-Oz to get out and grab a few caches in the early morning. After picking up the family I headed back to the mega site to try a few lab caches. This one was too close not to try and after heading here with Lost_and_Found79 we found another cacher here with the cache in hand. I offered to put it back so I felt like I had contributed to this one. I left the ladder in the car and simply climbed up the back of the steps which worked fine. My 69th find for the day.Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache strange quark1.
Heading back to the Mega site to meet up with G&J of GJMMelb who had finally made it up from the big smoke. We had decided to hold off on this one knowing G' had the better skills for negotiating the obstacle. Spotting the cache from below I was able to guide G' to it for a safe recovery and replacement before we all headed off to tackle the lab caches nearby. TFTC
Day 2 St Arnaud Mega
Today was another jam packed day at the Mega. After a good night's sleep it was an early start so we could go to the GeoVenture event. So quick brekkie and off we went, fueled with more coffee from Dabbling Duck (who seemed to be doing a brisk trade with all the geocachers just over the road). Also got a sandwich for lunch.
Enjoyed seeing the promo work for GeoVenture2020, just a shame I won't be able to attend the actual mega, but an Easter trip to the UK has got in the way of that.
It was then off to the Mega site to register and log a few of the trackables. A very slick operation indeed.
Then time to tackle the Stars having solved all the puzzles in advance of the trip over. It was great that the caches were spread over different roads as it meant cachers took different routes and thankfully we didn't get caught up in too much mega traffic! It was good to meet other cachers along the way. Some of the hides proved to be a bit trickier than others and we did place a throw down at No88 as with 4 teams there we could not put our hands on it.
After the Stars we finished off the BW series that we had started yesterday, some more fabulous hides there. Plus a few other caches thrown in too. It was then over to Hard Hills to do a little rubbish collection, what a lot of rubbish there was too! Also collected photos of many car trackables which was fun.
The evening saw roast beef rolls back at the Mega site, another excellent catering job by the team. After that a couple of night multis (first I have done) which were fun, hopefully one day will get to come back to St Arnaud and do the others.
Super day all round, lots of caches found. This Mega rocks.
Thanks to all the hiders, hosts and organisers.
Had to enlist some help with this one, helps when you have a climber in the team (thanks Sir Spectre). TFTC strange quark1

Nice one strange quark1. You obviously have great faith in our abilities. Well, you thought you might have us stumped, but not today!! Yay!! We got our hands on the cache and signed the log. Think we signed it Team JARC!. Thanks, I think, for placing this one. Certainly thanks for maintaining it.
Cheers and happy caching!

Found during a trip to St Arnaud to attend the 2019 Victorian Mega event. The weekend was spent primarily with e.gregory1, FeatherWaite, Freddo, and gridge98 as we geocached around the vicinity of St Arnaud. All of the events and CITOs were attended, we completed the available adventure labs and lab caches available at the showgrounds, many of the creative trails were gasped at their construction, and interesting puzzles were solved and collected during the weekend.
We all left on Thursday in two separate cars, and met up at the evening event, before finding a camp spot for the night in a very CITO location. On Friday, we targeted the StARS (St Arnaud Ramble Series) and the higher quality, well-constructed geocaches that were famous here in St Arnaud, and got lucky with the 2019 published series that we managed to snag FTFs on. Sunday had us continuing to find the other sets of high-quality caches around the neighbouring town parks, the challenge series, before spending a few hours at geocaching HQ participating in the labs that had been published. The event was also great to see some of the South Australians honoured with geocaching life awards (in amongst everyone on the list). Our final day, Sunday, had us do a big loop finishing off our geocache collection, driving all the way out to Kooreh and around via Stuart Mill, walking the conservation park at Mount Gowar, and finishing off at the GIFF event. A massive weekend that turned out to be a great mega! Thanks to all those who organised the Mega and the associated events. The variety between the local high-quality caches, the new series placed by the mega team, and those who needed to be around for the labs and main centre fielding questions was appreciated immensely.
Today, we continued with the well-constructed caches, starting off at the original series, *Fire Break Track* FBT, followed by the *Loop Track* LT series, visiting a few geocaches in between. We then called into Mega HQ to register our attendance, and then progressed through the Challenge series. We finished off the day with the CITO event and a few miscellaneous and puzzle caches around the area, and then had a well-deserved BBQ dinner at the event. We also completed a few night caches towards the west of St Arnaud, which turned out to be great and easily followed.
This cache was found during a side route to our adventures. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache. The logbook was signed as DEFF98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, FeatherWaite, Freddo, and gridge98).

Thanks to Rats and Steeba for grabbing it, geoboyfriend for locating it and returning it. I probably wouldn’t have gone for this one on my own as I don’t have the confidence!

Found this cache on the Victorian Mega weekend with Loci 612 and ZQX. Signed the logbook DSD or Darksidedan.
I love discovering Geocaches, Trackable items and collecting Pathtags. I have added your cache to my growing list of “Found It” logs. I hope that you enjoy Geocaching as much as I do. For me geocaching is a way of life. When I am not Geocaching, I am thinking of Geocaching. I would like to say a very big than you for placing your geocache and for maintaining it for the Geocaching Community. In 2019, I won the right to place a Virtual 2.0 Cache from Geocaching.com, but I have not placed it yet. I am just trying to find somewhere that is worthy of a Virtual Cache.
Here is a little information about me. I have been geocaching since 2015. At the time of finding this cache I have over 5600 finds plus 340 hides. I am the creator of the “Duck Dip” Lab Cache that won 2nd Place for the Australian Capital Territory in the State Vs State - Battle of the Lab Caches at the OzGeoMuster - The Gong Mega 2019 in Wollongong, Australia.
Now let’s talk Pathtags. Currently I have over 4600 Pathtags in my collection plus about 500 Etagz. I currently have two of my own Pathtags (45762 & 46950) with another one in the works.

Day 2 of St Arnaud MEGA. Stayed in Bendigo last night and TrailStevo and I mad a 6.30 start to head to Maryborough to do our Parkrun. Once complete we headed for the Mega for some pathtag trading, then some lab cache and a few local trads. we hung around the Mega for 90min before heading off into the bush to tackle a few series. Was warming up and very dusty, but we battled through 25 or so, before heading back to the high street for a coffee break. Whilst sitting at the cafe we became aware of more la b cache in town, and this turned into our next project for an hour. Then back to the Mega for dinner, WOW big queue, then down to the chip stop cus I was still hungry. Then we decided to look cool and drive up and down the high street 5 times!! Seriously........... found it. Then we headed back to Bendigo, cache our way back. Thanks for the fun people.
Day at the mega with Gunks then did offroad trail with GPS struggling followed by drivebys all over. Picled up most of the lab caches then 'cut some laps' before more drivebys on the way back to accomodation. Thanks for the cache.
