Sounds yum, almost lunch time too. Think I'll be thinking food till then now! Cache found okay.Staying in Whyalla last night was a good opportunity to stock up before we head north. Coober Pedy was our target. After some local caches and shopping, it was on the road. Lots of earthcaches led us to many interesting locations. On a warm sunny day with temperates into the 30C also quite pleasant and not to warm. Great scenery, rock formations and even a FTF of a new virtual. Red banks was a fascinating location in Port Augusta, lucky for low tide to get there. Back out into the outback, amazing country and heading north. The day caught up with us and made camp about 2 hours south of coober pedy in a rest stop.
Another long trip around AU over the top end with lots of detours. Now heading back east across the Nullarbor with a stop at Maralinga, Ceduna and Lincoln Park.TFTC. Nice quick find.
Thanks Betty ( Freddo ) , love to try new recipes. Quick find. Out caching while staying at the Footy Club tftc
Find#6004Nice hiding place What a epic road trip exploring Australia Thanks for the cache
OCW PelDroedGwin and geodog Peppa Sounds delicious but Id swap out the chicken. Tftc
Quick easy find but surprisingly high amount of muggle activity around. Stealth needed. Nice view, easy cache, cruisy drive. All in all, a good afternoon out and about
On our travels we stopped to grab this cache, a nice easy find and thanks for the lunch inspiration, my stomach has started to rumble.
That sounds delicious, will have to give it a go! Found the cache in good order! Thanks
Found with my Shatzy while up visiting our new grandson. Decided to take a drive along the coast and surrounding area, which is quite stunning. Quick easy find.

Yum. Must try that some day. On our way back to camp after a swim with the cuttlefish
Out in a chilly day with iluvtrekking tidying up some stray caches. Quick drive by thanks Betty!
Found while visiting Whyalla for a few days with Team Waldron and TeamAstro, with the aim of finding as many caches as possible in Whyalla and surrounds. Day 1 saw us travel up from Adelaide and tour the very scenic coastline around Port Bonython and Point Lowly. On Day 2 we headed out to the Fill In The Gaps" (FITG) series, then to Iron Knob and back via the First To Find Power Trail (FTF PT) series. On Day 3 we cached in and around the City of Whyalla, and on Day 4 headed out to Whyalla Conservation Park before heading for home. Thanks for the cache Freddo!
Checking out more of Whyalla, the steel city, where every corner has a rusty mint tin...
and some of the nearby coast today as well.
As usual, a day packed with exercise and great views.
Spotted your cache along the way
Took a moment to work out why the frog was cooking up a recipe... then, Doh ! I see. Nice dish.
Appreciate Freddo for placing and maintaining this cache on our SA geo game map
---
Searching with Purrfect Di and Jack the Monkey, finding and signing cache logs alone or with family and friends using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S21u, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just plain old dumb luck Plenty of that luck stuff actually!!!
*Logs are composed and published using GSAK of course.*
A couple of maintenance assist tasks on the trail caches too. Looked like there had been some extreme weather since we were here last... oh yep, the floods the day after we left!!!
---
Caching is a hazardous activity!
Keep a lookout for sand traps, snakes, surprise cliffs, boxing roos, wombats, bulldust, and floods,
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall out of trees...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- but especially lookout for any old bugs from alpha to omega !!! . [xx(]
Try to keep Travel Bugs as the only bugs you share and pass on
Now everything's opening more - even more important to sanitise and safely distance!!!
Really good of all those placing quality caches out and about around the countryside areas,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game safe, fun, and interesting
Thanks heaps for reading all this addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere, apparently! You win a virtual smile for the effort and getting to the end of the log

Now. If I get the ToTT pole out, attach the chicken to the end of it, and hoist it high in the air, I might be able to get the chicken warmed up for the salad.
Thanks for the cache Freddo.

Only one of the three goals from last year achieved. So once again trying and fill my calendar with multi-caches and complete loop 11 again this year. [^] For my third goal I will try and get my DNF numbers to single digits. That should keep me busy again this year! [:o)]
Off to the west coast for a Holiday. [^] Holiday Sal Style that is. We are sightseeing - if there happens to be a cache there - great - get it. Luckily caches are in really interesting spots anyway.
Day 12: Whyalla to Quorn with a visit to Warren Gorge,
Mr. Frog has some strange relatives but I thank him/her/prefer not to say for their recipe.
I also thank him/her/prefer not to say for an easy find at GZ.
***Thanks Freddo for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***

Easy find. Blerk spot for lunch though, and no idea what casbar has to do with it
Day 2 of our EP road trip saw us drive from Port Broughton to Whyalla. We stopped for a few caches along the way mainly targeted and in some interesting spots.
Thankfully the weather cheered up, the stinking hot heat gave way to a cool change and some torrential rain. At the arid gardens in Whyalla we saw a tonne of lizards come out for a drink break, amazing sight .
Geohusband decided he wanted to go to Point Lowly so we took a slight detour to pick up a couple of caches on this road. TFTC Freddo.

Away for a week on some R 'n' R from the shop and to recover from an exhausting 10th Birthday celebration for Geostuff. Moving on from our gorgeous camping spot along Fitzgerald Bay into Whyalla we grabbed a few on the way to the Caravan Park... Hmmm is that a Microwave tower? And we need to microwave the chicken! Gotcha. Will have to try the recipe! TFTC
In Whyalla with scramping on a mini getaway holiday...
Our last one as we head back to Whyalla after a lovely, blue sky day visiting Point Lowly, Fitzgerald Bay, Douglas Point and all the locations along this beautiful coastline...
Looking forward to Dinner but probably not Hot Chicken Salad...I think I might try your recipe some time though...

This weekend, jesswrigley and I headed to Point Lowly and Whyalla to scuba dive with the cuttlefish, who annually migrate there over the winter months to breed. The cuttlefish were plentiful, with the largest groups that I had seen from several prior visits there. Whyalla was a good little city, but unfortunately due to COVID-19, a number of steelworks and mine tours had been cancelled in the current times.
This morning, jesswrigley and I started our day with a cuttlefish dive at Stoney Point, right before the rains were forecast to come through around lunchtime. The cuttlefish were plentiful, but the water was certainly cold at 13°C, with drysuits only providing partial comfort. A few geocaches were then found locally, followed by lunch and another afternoon dive. We then drove around the eastern side of the peninsula to Fitzgerald Bay, returning to the Point Lowly lighthouse cottages accommodation for the evening.
I'm not sure if I understand the theme to this cache location, but perhaps I'm just missing something. We rocked up here just as the sun was setting. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Betty Croaker aka Freddo for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

A quick find and last out this way...
Spending a few days in Whyalla and found a few cache, or 300!
Had managed to solve all the puzzles before coming over too.
Of the nearly 300 found on the trip over and back from Adelaide, 95% were found within 50km of Whyalla Central, with approx a dozen dnfs also. Amongst all the finds was my 17000th find.
Also managed a lot of 'unloved' finds too.
What is it with Whyalla and mint tins? lol
TNLNSL
Thanks

We are having a rest day on our way home from the Centre and doing some caching as we see the sights. Thanks for the recipe and the cache. Now we are hungry!
We are exploring south of Port Augusta and doing some caches while we take a break from driving long distances. Found the cache wrapped in spider web but it is still in good condition. TFTC.
Found it!! Trying to encourage my brother and his family to start, but alas, SIL is not interested...

Hi there Freddo.
We found your cache **"Hot Chicken Salad"** at 12:24:00 PM today. This cache makes our find count 14007.
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip around the area. We usually start the day off by nominating a cache some distance away from our camp site and then take a route mainly determined by the next closest cache according to our GPS. Today we started at Port Bonython and after doing a circuitous route we ended up back where we started.
Today we found 30 & DNFing 1.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache around two metres from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Smiley Badge
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

I was, very generously, offered a trip to Whyalla with Moneydork that was too good to refuse!
Today was a leisurely tour around the Whyalla area which resulted in my finding 48 smileys and with 3 DNFs
OK Betty Croaker, what are we eating on the way to Melbourne...hot chicken salad[?]

I found this cache on a return visit to Whyalla.
I lived here for a year, in 2011/12, before moving to Berri, in the Riverland region of SA.
It was great to revisit the Whyalla area and to explore some of the tracks and trails. TFTC

Found at 10:56 AM GAFF1.
Yeah - it sounds like a nice dish, but chicken breast? Shouldn't it be chicken thigh? So much more juicier and falvoursome than the dry breast in this method of cooking.
What a wonderful view from ehre - Whyalla is jsut so neat from a distance
Thanks Freddo.

Found with Team Waldron and The White Dog Gang as part of a three day jaunt over to the west coast. This cache added to around 200 caches found in a range of bush and city settings in Whyalla, Port Augusta, Iron Baron and lots of other places. TFTC.
Doing a Whyalla & surrounding area run with Team Waldron & Trail 06.

We headed out to Port Bonython for a day of sightseeing and of course caching on our last full day in the Whyalla area.
It was a little after lunchtime so we didn't require a salad but we were happy to find a cache. We were now getting very hazy views of Whaylla, looks like we are in for a change in the weather.
Many thanks to Betty Croaker for placing this cache.
