Lots of rubbish here sadly. Again I feel like I'm near a camp of sorts... Tftc
Out and about with Geo-Pooch, being mindful that upon waking this morning the old girl was limping around the house which appeared to be miraculously cured by the command "swim" at a previous cache. Water having a similar effect on the staffy as it does to a gremlin.. the following several caches requiring mangling a staffy brain who appeared to only remember the commands "swim" and "this way" with the added ability of super-smell that picked up the scent of just about every animal that even remotely came close to this path for added effect.** Cache found with ease.. I had no idea that these tracks were here, both me and the geo-pooch enjoyed the tracks, thanks for bringing me here today. I always get so disappointed when I see people deciding to use nature as their personal dumping ground.. the effort to reach this location vs the effort to drive to the local dump ( hmmmmm???)TFTCFind 767
#57589 [16:46] found during a short caching walk in this area, and luckily i found during logging, that it's needed for my may challenge lucky me! thanks a lot for this cache and giving such a good name
Regarding our O'Dwyers Gully walk, baby Cottontail and I set out departing from Parkside Drive just after 09:45 hr. We walked along Woogaroo Highway (interestingly named for a bushland track), and then proceeded anti-clockwise via Nic's cross over, Opossum Creek Run, before walking through the scrub to join Bee Run and returning north to then follow Woogaroo Highway back to the car. We ended up walking a total distance of 9.6 km across an elevation of 161 m, with a moving time of 2:20 hr, and elapsed time of 3:15 hr, as per my [Strava record](https://www.strava.com/activities/11258349271). A forgotten bushland area, and a few of the trails still seem to be used by 4WDs. Midway through our walk, baby Cottontail enjoyed a backpack nap, which gave me motivation to continue a longer route than planned. As I was making my way north along the Bee Run, a vehicle approached from behind, who were practising their 4WD skills in this area; was there an easier way to find a few of these geocaches rather than walking the area? When I was roughly perpendicular to this cache, I took the long bush bash to GZ, and I was grateful to have a quick find at the obvious hinted item. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks [ManicWombat](https://coord.info/PR3JF9Z) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.----------Today on the Anzac Day public holiday, baby Cottontail and I travelled to Springfield and walked in O'Dwyers Gully. We stopped at a few geocaches en route in Camira, which provided an opportunity for playground play. Following our walk, it was time for a bakery lunch and a few geocaches in Springfield, Camira, and Gailes, before returning home in the early afternoon.
After finding a nearby cache I needed for a Challenge Im working on, I decided to find the other caches along the trail as I headed back towards my parked car. A longish bush bash from the trail to the GZ. Quick find once I arrived. It seems people love to dump their unwanted rubbish along this trail which is very sad. Cache and log in good condition and no rubbish dumped close to GZ. TFTC. TNLN. SL. TBs Eddie Mac to New Zealand and Back, Prado Owl , Rawhide and Kiwi Bird visited.Find # 1855.
Was in the area so went for a walk in the bush.
Quick find once at GZ.

Stopped by today and replaced log book and plastic zip lock bag. All fresh and ready to be found. Thanks to Brissy Cat for the log letting me know it needed maintenance.
I spent the day looking for caches in this section of bush. I came up from O’Dwyers Gully and along the ridge. This one was easy to find but the bag inside the cache is broken and both log books were soggy and mouldy. I added a fresh piece of paper in a new bag. TFTC!
A trip to Perth checking out some of the awesome places along the way in ACT, NSW, Qld and NT. Grabbing some old caches and missing LGAs. TFTC.
There is a bit of a bush campo getting overgrown nearby.

I already had a Y for the alphabet cache, but I wasn't a fan of it. "Ye" just didn't do it for me. So, when I spotted this little number the game was on.
I stopped past with the dog and made the find fairly quickly. True to form the dog thought she was in charge and tried to lead the way - heading in any direction, mind.
The cache was a little damp but still servicable. TFTC ManicWombat!

Hunting geocaches and mushrooms! Our daughter is a budding amateur mycologist so we are exploring the mycelium world whilst discovering human treasures as well! Tftc
This was our last find on the bushland walk in this loop this afternoon. It was just a short walk after this back to where we had parked the car, although we did take a short detour up to the Watertower on the way out.
All good with this one and lovely to have found some of your hides ManicWombat

Headed cross country to this one and saw a wallaby. Found easily and all in good condition on this beautiful winter’s day. Unfortunately lots of rubbish not too far away. Tftc
Found it on a dizzly muddy day - lots of fun TFTC. Forgot my pen but made my mark with some red bark. Cheers.
I came to this area for a target cache or 3 that I needed for challenges. A muggle friend came along for the walk. This one hasn't been found for a while. I rescued a travel bug that needs to move on.
I had a very nice gentle walk along the trail to this cache. The weather was expected to be pretty hot so a morning stroll was in order. Cache is in good order. Left TB. TFTC
Collecting some for a challenge. Will come back to this beautiful spot. Saw kangaroos.

Geonayfee, Pprime, mini_bean_counter and I left the northside of Brisbane in the wee hours of the morning in search of smilies and good memories. We got both
After hiking up Flinders Peak with our overnight hiking / camping gear, we slowly made our way home, picking up random caches along the way. This particular cache helps me with the people's alphabet challenge . As it was nearby, my chauffeur was more than happy to help me collect.
This cache was a lovely short walk (good for the sore legs!) into the bushland, but the serenity was pretty much destroyed first by the huge amount of trash dumped in the area, and then the over eager revving from the dirt bikes nearby. Oh well, still on a high from Flinders Peak

Oz_Bean_Counter, Mini_Oz_Bean_Counter, Pprime and myself made it back down Flinders Peak in one piece, but a quick coffee was needed, while sipping our coffees we discussed if we were keen on grabbing the other caches we planned on getting while here, but we were all completely exhausted and didn't have the energy to climb another mountain, so we decided to make our way back home, but we decided to grab a few more easy to get ones on the way back.
Walking down this track towards this cache was rather fun, it was wet and really slippery. The area looks to be a place for illegal dumping as there was junk all over the place. Not very nice at all.

After a great hike up Flinders Peak this morning, GeoNayfee, Oz_bean_counter, mini_bean_counter and I opted for less energetic strolls and caches to spend the afternoon on. This one was selected to help on a challenge for obc, but ticked the 'easy leg stretch' box for the rest of us. The rain let up long enough to make the walk in, and back, pleasant and relaxful. The motorbikes nearby doing whatever they do was not an issue - but sad to see the illegal dumping that occurs in nature strips like this. Yuck. Cache was good though, and although I was waddling a bit like Yolanda myself, the walk was excellent.
Thanks ManicWombat for entertaining me at this location.

The last couple of weeks we have been living in DNF city. The rent is cheap but the art scene is full of people with things stuck up their backside. I don’t know why but we’ve had so many DNFs that we just expect them at every cache. Why is everyone panic buying tinned food when a cranky face on a map is the real enemy.
I can’t explain why this trend has started. It could be because we have opted for multis with missing waypoints, traditionals with missing plastic or webcam caches on adult web sites that don’t earn your a smiley but bring a smile to your face.
Somehow this trip had been DNF free and that amazed us because it had been a fair while in between drinks for some of these caches. Maybe things are turning up roses for us, then again we are now forced to stay at home with our kids. Sh@t! tftc

No sign of Yolanda, but found a cache right near to somebody's tent pitched in the middle of the bush. Luckily nobody at home today, but I was a bit concerned originally. The cache was, as it turned out, a few metres away and doesn't look like it has been disturbed by the camper. Endorsed the log book, replaced the cache and retreated to the old vehicle track.
This was the seventh cache that muggle (adult) son and I looked for. So was going well and we were walking towards the cache when we suddenly found ourselves picking through a garbage dump. It looked like someone had been living there, just 50m from GZ, then we suddenly spied a tent ahead. It appeared to be right at GZ and we assumed that the resident had recently moved their tent to GZ to avoid having to clean up their mess. Such a shame, in such a nice place. We decided not to go closer to GZ as we didn't care to butt heads with the dirty squatters, and I messaged CO to ask permission to log the cache even though we haven't signed the log. As I haven't received a reply, I am logging as found so I hope this is OK. I wouldn't normally bother with this, but I really wanted this find for two alphabet challenges and it's a long way back from Malaysia!
I decided to find this on the way back to the car from the X cache. As I got closer to GZ I noticed a blue pop tent around where I estimated the cache would be. As I was by myself I choose not to approach and find out if anyone was there or not.
Sorry about the generic log on a few of these but easier for me than typing every one of them
I headed out here this morning to mainly grab a few of the animal alphabet and christian name challenge cache qualifiers, but I wound up grabbing several others along the way
Most were pretty easy to find and all were found in good condition.
This one had a tent pitched nearby to it! I didn't see any occupants though?
Took nothing, left nothing, signed the log.
Thanks for the cache ManicWombat

Down from Toowoomba with Eskies5 to grab a few caches. Our last stop and find for the caches in this series and just after way around our planned loop. This hide was found after a short search. TFTC ManicWombat
Thankfully another straightforward find...suddenly remembered I had brought a TB (Wardy's Lust) to drop off so left it here before I forgot about it again. TFTC ManicWombat.
We stopped here for a Sunday afternoon walk. It's sad to see that this little bush land is used as a rubbish tip.

Out on this side of town with barbbowman, Raynersinoz and Just a Trifle targeting specific caches to complete a challenge.
I was searching some 25 metres away when Barb calls out she has it. I'm glad she was using her phone as the co-ords seem to have changed since I loaded them this morning.
Oh look a nice new container . That explains it. The CO has been out and done some maintenance prior to us arriving. He must have known we were coming .

It's Thursday, so I'm out and about with my caching buddies barbbowman and JustaTrifle. I'm after caches to help fulfil a few challenges and we all like an adventure, so Springfield it is . BB and JAT have visited the area before, but there are still some caches that none of us have found yet.
Yolanda was first on the list and we headed past a LOT of dumped rubbish left on the track and bee keeping signs with no hives in sight. Leaving the track it was amazing how many weeds were in the bushland, I'm sure the plant that we were walking on was a ground cover form of lantana with bright purple flowers. It's hard to believe this little pocket of bush is still here, it's so quiet away from suburbia. It didn't take us long to find Yolanda and she's a little cutie. Log signed, it was time to find a certain type of frog. TFTC ManicWombat

6/2/16 out caching with Marina25 to qualify for a monthly challenge. Followed the path and then headed bush. Soon enough came to a logical hiding location and was greeted with the cache. Woohoo. TFTC.
Found Yolanda the yellow eyed Penguin safe and happy in her little domain we said hello but she shyed away so we quickly signed our names and left her alone TFTC

It was arranged to do these caches, some time back, with Mr & Mrs Roddy C but with bad weather & one thing & another it didn't happen.
Put on the back-burner, the trail was once again raised as a possible joint venture & this time, despite the heavily overcast skies, it was 'all systems go!'.
14 caches plus an event made today another great caching experience.
I was making a few last minute preparations when Mr & Mrs Roddy C arrived.
Pleasantries exchanged & we were soon off along the trail in search of Yolanda the Yellow-eyed Penguin.
After a short stroll, & a small diversion off-trail, a quick find was made.
All good with the cache.
Signed & replaced as found.

What better way to cache early Australia Day than with another good friend geocacher, on a long-awaited date, with some great bush-walking to do.
So after a 7am meetup with Linden/6, we set off, passing the "Ikea Reject Showrooms" and after a short walk, the compass said turn right here. A few stumps, but one obvious one. Cache located, log signed: all returned.

K8'n'Co and I recently completed the hike to The People's Alphabet Challange cache but after going through my finds to make a list I unfortunately realised I was short two letters, U and Y. I was heading up here today for an event so of course I had to make the detour to grab what I needed and a few others. With my yak on the roof I wasn't going to leave the car out the front so it came with me. I managed to ride the ruts and dodge rocks, sticks and roots all the way to Killer Bee.
Thanx for placing these uniquely named caches ManicWombat, much appreciated.

Somehow we overlooked this one on the way to the other nearby animal caches today. So on the way back to the car, we stopped here to find this one. My GPS had finally gotten reception by this point, so we made our way more or less straight over for another nice hide.

Spent the day in the area with Genyo doing some caching and this was net on our list. After some walking we were at GZ and began the hunt for the cache. Before long had the cache in hand and log signed then continued on with our day. TFTC!
Hey, Mr Wombat, your penguin is jaundiced! Perhaps shove him under the blue lights for a couple of hours?
Having fun out here and keen to traverse the last few caches on the return circuit. What a lovely afternoon out in the bushland Thanks so much for the walk!
Genyo and Dawesy321 and I were going to meet up, but no sign of them as yet. Slow-walking cake-scoffing layabouts... that's all I can say, really.

I had planned this caching day a fair while ago but due to weather and other priorities we had to put it off so I was VERY excited to finally be putting my plan into action!!!
My idea had been to grab as many caches that fitted into one or another challenge and add a few caches close to them to fill out the time.
The list included Placed Date, Qld's Oldest, Animal Alphabet Challenge & People Alphabet Challenge Caches in the Springfield & Ipswich areas.
This meant we had to drive past a lot of other caches but I wanted to grab the list so we just had too do it.
We had some real fun with this group as we went on a four wheel drive adventure in a 2 wheel drive vehicle!!!
The track was very rough and furrowed but mostly dry so we chose the best way thru and took our time and took it easy.
What was also great about it was we could drive to within metres of the caches without the need for the long walk in the hot sun!!!
We found another great spot to park off the track here and even had some shade for the car!!!
Geo Wife was still happy to stay in the car in the shade so I headed off for GZ.
It was only a short hunt till I found came across the little penguin tucked away in her hiding spot out of the hot sun.
It was a bit funny finding a penguin in the middle of the Australian bush but when I opened the container I found the she was a very modern girl with very lovely rainbow markings.
I checked out the contents and glimpsed a very small object in a plastic sleeve which turned out to be a TB "Team Kurzdorf Micro-Organism #2", when I read its name I understood why it was so small!!!!
The sun was beating down on both of us so I bid farewell and returned Yolanda to her hiding spot and headed back to the car for the relative shade.
Thanks MW for this great little group of caches, I now have all but one in the People and Alphabet Series to collect as the poor old Unicorn is not acceptable!!! TFTC SL TSLS

I have had these caches on my list to do for a while. As I live in Springfield Lakes I didn't like seeing these as greenies still. I didn't have any clients today so today was the day to do them. Out for an early morning walk with Pippa the Wonderdog looking for some higher terrain caches. I am not sure how this area has slipped my attention, but I finally had the chance to swing by and see what is there.
A new addition perhaps to the cache difficulty - bees, and lots of them! There is a colony of hives within 50 meters of GZ, and while not a problem if you avoid them, makes a find all the more interesting!
My last cache for the day, but I will be back for more in the near future.
Thanks MW for a great walk in a good patch of scrub.
