I knew about this walkway but the cache was a motivator to explore it a bit more. Parked the bike up at GZ and started scrambling for the cache, which I managed to find quickly. Find # 853
On a Week road trip to Nelson,Buller and Greymouth. lots of driving and walking, plus biking, lots of great caches many thank to all the CO"s - Bitsprayer
Nice quick find here while on a geocaching holiday in Nelson with the Westie girls .
Day 3 with Supernannny and Net61 in Nelson exploring this part of the country. A lot quick find here on a nice walkway. TFTC
A nice find on a sunny morning stroll with the fur monsters. The doggos did give away our position when one of their doggo friends walked past, but all found nice and cleverly tucked away. Thanks for the cache
Log was missing, was empty container, had spare paper which I left to start new log:) tftc, good find!
Found it. Took a long time, just about gave up but poked around a bit more & there it was!! Log a bit damp. TFTC.
A quick find on a lovely stretch of walkway. All was quiet here today. I added a new ziplock. TFTC
Nifty hide, but the log paper was in really bad condition. I added a small slip of paper so I could sign something. TFTC.
Been a long time getting this cache. Located first time but didnt have appropriate tools. Tricky little beggar. Nicely done. TFTC
Fairly quick find on a lovely Saturday afternoon.
Used the wdge of my tweezers to pop the lid off.
A few muggles went past, none paid me any attention.

A quick find for me as I took some shelter from the light rain. Nothing I had would open the container and then I broke my pen...bugger. Got a photo. Thanks bumandworker.
Glad nobody around, so I was able to dive in and find the cache.
Had found a similar one, so it didn't take very long, but I still enjoyed it.
Nice hide. Thanks bumandworker.
The walkway looks like it's part of an edible walk, nothing ripe at the moment, but lot's of fruit trees here.

We parked in the nearby street and took the short walk to locate this cache. A quick search and we soon had the container in hand. TFTC
Doing some caches in town today - is not the first cache we have done down this walkway Stretch0 found a likely looking spot and a log to sign (log a little damp but ok for now) enjoyed the cache - Thanks
Well be rude to leave this one any longer so in between showers we took a stroll. As we approached GZ we passed a muggle but they weren't interested in what we were up to and after a brief look i spied something likely. Grabbed it and i was right so we quickly signed and returned. TFTC
Quickly found today, but alas I could not get the cache open as the lid is jammed shut and trying to open it was cracking it. May need a spot of maintenance. Photo evidence of the find if required, but I won’t post here. TFTC Bum.
This weekend was a planned trip to Nelson that we organised a couple of months back.
My niece was competing in the S.I secondary schools athletics meet at Saxton, (quite successfully as it turned out), and as my brother had organised a house in Tahunanui for 4 days I had a base for a good weekend.
So I took the Friday off work, getting into Nelson while it was still dark in the morning to start a big day targeting highly favoured caches and anything else that took my fancy. Once reaching most of my goals and catching up with the tribe later that afternoon the weekend took a different slant, and it was all about the athletics, catching up and chilling out for most of the next two days.
Jo popped over on Sunday, and after the relays finished we just had time to make the Mapua event in the afternoon, then I grabbed a few more caches on the way home. A great weekend in so many ways, with Nelson turning on some great weather.
Thanks to all the COs, found some good ones

Another nice little walkway. Got to it just before all the school kids and found cache fairly quickly. Signed the log and rehid again before the hoards descended. tftc
With plenty of walkers and bikeqrs to hide from I nearly gave up to wait for a better time. But a flashback from a find from the CO in brightwater put me on the right track.
A beauty, thanks very much!

We have a new challenge and I have a couple of days of leisure before a minor knee op coming up. So the idea was to get as many points as I could before then.
Headed over the hill - grabbing a few caches along the way.
Almost had enough now.... just a couple more before heading to meet daughter back in Nelson.
This one was nicely hidden away. TFTC B&W

Out on an afternoon bike ride and made a slight detour off the rail trail. GPS had me right on the spot and cache quickly in hand. Thanks for the cache.
Had the opportunity for a visit to Nelson for 2 days with Mrs Yeetrees as she was going to attend a embroidery workshop for 2 days, we decided that we would fly in late Friday night and stay the full weekend. Having booked this trip back in February we werent sure what the weather was going to be like but we decided that we would chance it. Managed to find accommodation at the Monaco Hotel & Resort as it was very central to where we wanted to be. Mrs Yeetrees decided that she would like to come caching in the end with me instead of attending the workshops as there wasnt anything to her liking.
After finding GC5C5RK - Humble Beginnings (Nelson/Marlborough), this was the next cache that we had on our list to find today as we made our way around Nelson. After checking out this cache page and we arrived near GZ we soon realised that we have being here before previously and that we had found a cache here before. I made the silly mistake of parking close to GZ and soon realised where the cache was going to be so decided that we would leave the cache where it was and walk to GZ from here.
The walk to GZ was quite pleasant with Mrs Yeetrees leading the way and it really didnt take too long before we were soon at GZ. Mrs Yeetrees went and searched at one spot and I looked at another and I soon spotted something that required a bit more investigation and soon managed to retrieve the cache. Managed to extract the logpage, it was slightly damp but managed to sign it and then replaced the cache back as found.
As we exit GZ we were confronted by a friendly K9 and shortly by their muggle friends, I think that they might have wondered what we were up too, but I wasnt too concerned. Had a chat with them as we both made our way to the end of the walkway and we soon separated and headed on our own way. Another interesting spot for a cache, thanks for placing it here and for bringing me to this spot, TFTC TNLNSL (12545)

Taybeedragon and I are back in Nelson. Again. I need to get a multi today, and another tomorrow, to complete the requirements for a ten day multi-cache streak challenge. There are not enough multis left for me in Blenheim.
We found ourselves at this stream so came and collected this one while we where in the vacinity. Nelson now has quite a nice network of urban trails. Found some of the shortcuts are not on the map, so will add them when I am next at work.

The Seagnoid needs a couple of multis this weekend. So we are off for another adventure to Tasman, with The Seagnoid and Zara, early Saturday morning.
While in the vicinity had to come and capture this one. Snagged and tagged. Cheers

Nice little hide which qe'd seen similar approaches previously. Nabbed qith SJT_NZ on walk to supermarket. TFTC all in good order.
Found with TregearP on a frosty walk to the supermarket. Had seen caches like this before so a quick find. All in good order, tnlnsl, tftc.
Such a clever hide! On our way, biking home after supper with our family, and decided to get another Cache! Thanks

Out cyclocaching around Richmond and Stoke this afternoon. This was find #12 for the ride. Disturbed what seemed like a 1000 ants who had been busy setting up home at the cache. Thanks for the cache.
My day didn't pan out as I had hoped so I looked for a few quick to find caches - this was the first of those I looked for. Sometimes pays to read the hint or logs before arriving at GZ, this was one of those times, a trip back to the car and the necessary assistant was retrieved which made for a quick find tftc
Down here in Nelson with Rebel98, rustynz and supernanny for a long 3 day weekend. Felt like we were driving around in circles to get here, then a short walk to GZ. Just as well I brought along the right tool for the job, but the hint gave that away. I think supernanny found this one for the team.
Nice quick find here with Gorby, Rebel98 and rustynz !
Thanks for all your caches bumandworker !

Our adventure started with a local event arranged by rustynz and a group of us are collecting as many caches in the nelson area as possible, ending up who knows where and by whom
our group is the gorbynator, suppernanny and the rustynz.
our group is the gorbynator, suppernanny and the rustynz.
With daylight fading, we wanted to find a few caches before we were in darkness, so with supernanny + Gorby on the cgeo, the car GPS, rebel98 driving we navigated ourselves to the next traditional. Thanks for the hide
Went on a big adventure with Wafflekitties and geo pups, had a blast thanks for the memories! TFTC.
Found while on a winter holiday with LCBuilder and our two geodogs. We spent 3 weeks travelling down the east coast and then up the west coast, setting our tent up at a different campsite each night. We didn't have any real plan, just went where the caches took us we saw a lot of awesome sights and will definitely have to come back one day as 3 weeks isn't really that long!
Finally made it to Sunny Nelson, definitely one of my favourite places.

Quick find. Enjoyed being able to pick a couple of apples from the nearby trees. Thanks for the cache
Having just followed a week away for work and the MEGA I'm back down in the south for work and more Rep training. So of course what does the serious geocacher do when faced with being in a town that they haven't done a lot of caching, well cache of course, and this evening was to be no exception.
This was my nineth as had based myself at "The Saxton" on the edge of Saxton Park. Nice simple trad here and a pleasent walk around the park/streets and cycleways collecting caches.
Nice quick find here without any issues .
thanks for the placement , thanks for the cache

Been here and tried before without success. Back again on a quiet Sunday afternoon for another try and I walked straight to it. I'm sure I'd looked here before, but ain't that just the way it goes.
Thanks #622

Flying back from a long weekend in the Manawatu and the chance to grab a few caches to keep me going through the week before I head back ove the hill. Even though it was nice in Palmy today someone turned the hose on in Nelson and after a cloudy misty flight into the airport (the turbulence wasn't as bad as I thought it might be) I got back to the car and the rain started and pretty much rained on and off for a few hours. I managed a couple more Streak caches, two puzzles and some in and around the Stoke area so quite pleased to get double figures (and get drenched)
Wouldn't really be a South Island caching trip without a b&w cache, thanks for that. I still had the coordinates for the other previous hide here, I need to tidy up my G S A K database I think. Nice easy find and replaced as found.

TFTC. Out to play for the weekend with the destination of Nelson. Caching crew on board were Karma Reprint, Team_Gaters and TheWanglers, logged as PKTT for this trip. Gosh did we have fun looking for caches, most of which we found, in this very beautiful part of our country.
We managed a little sleep and commenced day 2 of our Nelson cachathon. Today was about picking up puzzle caches and having a great time. Four very excited kids!!
Thanks bumandworker for placing the cache.

On a big mission up to Nelson over Show Weekend with Purdiepurdie, Karma Reprint and Team_Gaters we signed our cache finds as PKTT the 'power packet' but we called ourselves the 'G4'. We headed off on Friday morning at 4.30am. We had a mission that we wanted to perform in Nelson and this was the day to attempt it. After a good nights sleep we headed out for the day for more laughs, caches and poke our noses here and there, driving and memory making. It was a great day we didn't stop until about 11.30pm back to base for a cuppa and relax and getting ready to do it all again tomorrow!
Quick find, onto the next...
Thanks for the cache.

For the sake of sanity we set off with sonia26642 for a crazy geocaching trip, aiming to cache until we drop. The main destination was Nelson and the ‘surrounding’ area, but then we ended up covering a few miles in three northernmost regions, plus a few in Canterbury. We were signing/stamping the log as 'Team Polak' or ‘TP’ for the two of us on this trip to save logbook space. We found a lot of different caches, city ones, road side, park side, up a hill and on an island, and we enjoyed every single one of them. It was good to be a professional thingfinder for a few days!
We had great fun and are grateful to all CO’s who placed caches for us to find, and help restore our sanity before returning to our other non-geocaching lives!!
Come and join us the next New Zealand geocaching MEGA event!! Register your interest now at www.nzmega2015.com to receive newsletter updates and be the first to know. It will be a great event, come and be a part of it!!

This was one of the most epic weeks ever, and definitely my most epic caching week ever.
Me and mum headed up on a holiday north to Nelson and very wider surrounds. In total during the trip, we found almost 500 caches! (470 odd I think, but final results are yet to be in! ) We covered about 3000 odd km I think too. Crazy! And had our absolute best caching day ever too at 160 found. Spend 9 days travelling, caching, and having the best time ever!!
So sorry about not so epic logs, as otherwise this would probably take me the rest of my life to log, especially with two big events to organise coming up! Eeek!!
Almost every single log we signed as 'Team Polak' to avoid needing to write out both usernames taking up space on logsheet - as well as precious caching time!! Haha.
Consec caching day # 706
TFTC!!

A nice hide and returned as found and as requested. A couple of elderly ladies walked past us at one stage. Not sure if they remember doing exactly the same thing 10 minutes before when we were at They Call It The Streak 12! Said "Hello" again and so did they. Thanks B&W
A nice hide here, neighbours playing very close by so had to be discreet. A few walker muggles too. Walked right through a big cobweb and got it all over my face and in my eyelashes! TFTC
Replaced log with water proof one.
Found cache with lid facing out side ways for all the world to see.....ARGH !!

#7969. Took a little bit of to-ing and fro-ing before I spotted something interesting. A nice walkway to explore. TFTC.
A muggle with doggle came towards me as I walked towards GZ, then another passed in the opposite direction a few seconds later, so I was wondering how I was going to search unobserved if this is such a popular walkway. I needn't have worried as no-one came by during my search, which was good because I had to keep popping out of the bushes, back onto the path to get a good satellite fix.
After a bit of to-ing and fro-ing the GPSr finally decided on one particular area and after a brief search, I spotted a potential hide. Used my keys to open the lid, then my tweezers to grab the plastic bag and logbook. Unfortunately, the plastic bag is holey, and the logbook wet, so didn't sign it.
Thanks for the nicely hidden cache and for day #98 of my streak.
