Following a fathers day breakfast, jesswrigley and I headed out for some kayaking fun around Outer Harbor. Our first stop was Bird Island for a couple of geocaches, and that was quite the experience. We paddled back, and then kayaked around Torrens Island for a couple of caches, before the winds started increasing, and paddling around on incoming waves became too much for us. A terrific day for the first day of Spring, and nice to be out on the water.

Again, someone seemed to be parked right near GZ waiting in their car - what was with this area and people hanging around? The weird part was they weren't even facing the water, but facing the fenced area with all the cars? We started preparing the kayak, and about halfway inflating everything, they finally moved on. I then went for a walk to find the cache empty, and no lid on the container. I messaged the CO to check if they were ok if I performed some maintenance on their behalf, and they were ok with that. Consequently, I ended up placing a new cache back at GZ. Thanks LiB.

Rare leave pass on a weekend to go caching and so I arranged to meet Anymules at a morning event and do just that. Razz We considered a long walk in a park but the weather didn't appear to be clearing so in the end decided to hit the Port and clear out a few there. Cool

There was a van parked near the end of the road. So we walked over and read the signs, and then whilst the occupant wasn't looking I sat down and felt out the cache. Smile Right where the GPS said it should be. Smile

**Thanks LíB for this cache. ** Big Grin

Thanks 3LG for this hide, easy find in the dusk of day. Bottle nose dolphin has no lid and log book open to the elements. I went rifling through the car and found a zip lock bag (used for a purpose) now repurposed for the log book.

Out for some caching adventures on the water today, took the kids and the new exchange student with us, weredunn4 was the capable captain, we were bringing in the boat and weredunn4 gave me the tip there was a cache close by, the exchange student made the find after the tip sent me in a wrong direction, log book signed and returned. After an early morning CITO event and an appointment I met up with gridge98 to go caching around Outer Harbour with a few other odd caches thrown in along the way. [^] Very changeable weather with sun, wind, clouds and rain at various times while we were out. Surprised

There was a guy sleeping in his car right next to GZ, but gridge was able to walk up grab the cache and bring it over to me for stamping, then casually replaced it. Big Grin

Thanks for the cache 3LG. Smile

I came here last year but heaps of muggles were around, today a muggle was in there car asleep at go. It was like don’t wake the bear.

Some morning and midday caching today, a plan to go caching the JJ52 up and around outer harbor to collect some caches we both were yet to find, only one DNF for the day, lucky to beat the rain for the afternoon.
Thanks to all the cache owners for there placements.

Was going to kayak out to the Black Pole with a mate this morning, however the wind was a little too breezy and there was lightning off in the distance, so we decided to abort that idea. Noted that there was a cache nearby so made a quick find. Coincidentally a Bottlenosed Dolphin surfaced about 100m away from the car as we sat there looking at the weather - great to see. Signed log.

Out on a caching day with hevwalker & we had a full day of caching scheduled.
We were both amused as we had to drive around the seagulls who weren't in a hurry to move.
There was no one here but a muggle on a ski-do & was glad he didn't hang around.
A quick find, thanks for the cache 3LG

Found with clare007 during our caching day out in the North West of the city...
I had to carefully drive up the road to GZ as a colony of seagulls had decided the road was a good place to rest and they weren't going to move...I drove around them...same happened on the way out Big Grin
At GZ it was quite windy...the cache was found quickly...did not see any dolphins in our travels today...

Cache #1931.

This Sunday, we drive to Outer Harbor, expecting the beautiful beach. Unfortunately, found no beach there...

Drove to the dead end. Maybe there was a beach? But no, no beach. Maybe there were dolphins? But saw no dolphin. Maybe there was a cache? Oh yes, found the cache.

It was an easy find. Cache has been hidden in a classic spot. Cache size is smaller than I expected. Lid for the container is detached, but still do the job. Log book has been pushed in in the wrong way, so it took me a while to get it out. Signed the log book, and put it back. No one was watching.

Thanks for the "Animal Facts" cache series, 3LG.

With drops of rain trying to fall, we didn't hang around long looking for this cache. A second pair of eyes checking where the first had looked located the cache and log was signed. By this time the 'rain' had stopped and the flies were out in force. tftc

We're currently spending a week or so in Adelaide, having slowly road-tripped here from Hobart over the last couple of weeks.

We're currently staying in North Haven, and decided to have a bit of a rest day, not venturing too far from home. Naturally, we started looking for caches in the area, as a bit of a productive way to spend our time. We quickly spotted the Animal Facts series nearby, and thought it'd be great to have a crack at collecting some of those.

This cache was the only DNF out of seven cache attempts. We searched for at least ten minutes, but failed to find any spot that looked like it would conceal a smallish container. By then the geochild was getting a bit tired, so we didn't really want to spend too much time looking.

Veni. Vidi. Vici. Scripsi.
Was working in the area, and before I had to travel to the next site I decided that it was time to find some hidden creatures, and finding a bottlenose dolphin seemed to be quite fitting. Parked close by and quickly located the cache, signed the log and replaced in its hide. Lid has come adrift and a new container might be a good idea. The container is still reasonably water tight though.

We were in the port of Adelaide for the day on Holland Americas Amsterdam. We had a 6-hour tour in the morning that took us to the town of Hahndorf. We knew we could get a few caches there. On the way there, we did a photo stop at Mt Lofty. Wow! There was a cache about 400' from the viewpoint. So Marbles zipped down the trail and bushwhacked through the forest to get that one.

We had two hours of "free-time"in which we had a great German lunch and were also able to get a cache at either end of the town. The group returned to the ship, where we changed into our "geocaching clothes" and out we went for the rest of the day. We did a large 8-mile walking loop around the beautiful port town and were able to find 14 caches before we had to head back to the ship for dinner.

So we wound up with 17 caches on the day, with one DNF near the end of the day. Great day!!!

Thank you to 3LG for 12 of the 17 caches and to each of the other COs for their efforts and for their caches. A special thank you to 3LG for the "walk through the animal kingdom" via cache Descriptions, whic were full of great information.

17-Mar-17
Day Seventeen of our holiday, BettyBoo3747 and I are settling in at Semaphore in Adelaide. We dragged out the deadly treadlies and rode the coastal trail. There looked like quite a few on the map, but we ended up riding more kilometres than we found caches. An awful lot of caches still listed that were not there (and that doesn't count our DNF's!)
There were 5 cars (all occupied) in this huge car park when we arrived, and two of them were at GZ's!
We passed the first one, and made our way to this cache. Under the disguise of reading the maps, we made our find.
No such luck at the other one.
Thanks, Robmc.

#11894. Day 17 of our SA holiday. Our first day based in Semaphore so time to explore on the bicyles and hope to pick up several of the nearby caches. A forelorn hope as it turned out, as we kept rocking up to caches that are actually missing in action and then there were our other DNF's also. I did manage to sign 23 caches on a 30km ride and gathered another 6 DNF's for my growing SA collection.

Well here we are at Outer Harbour and soon we will watch the P & O liner cruise out of port. Hope to see some dolphins before we depart in a couple of weeks. Of course there was a nearby muggle sitting in his car not far away but Rob was stealthy and managed to find the cache and bring it to me for stamping. I was down admiring the water.

Thanks 3LG

Out and about with Jalinrenos this afternoon grabbing a few caches, SERIOUSLY!! When will bloody cachers consider the next person and put the damn log book in the correct way!!!!! It's common sense people!! The last finder clearly did not fathom the very simple fact that staples are magnetic..OOh look..there is a magnet in the cache container down the bottom. OOhh look the log book fans open a bit...lets put the log book in with the stapled end pointing down so that the staple STICKS to the magnet and the end of the book fans out and jams against the lip of the container, making it almost impossible to get the bloody logbook out!!! Luckily, I had the nessecery tools with me to extract the book, but if the previous finder had engaged their brain BEFORE replacing the book, I would be a much happier cat!! THINK PEOPLE...Sorry for the rant 3LG and Thanks for the cache....Big Grin
