Today's drive took us from Cooroy, where we spent last night, down as far as Clontarf, where we will sent the next two weeks. Coffee and cache was in order for this nice little park. We used to stop here as children on our way from Brisbane to Noosa. So, after muggle dog walker left the area, we set out for the climb. Did not have to climb - we found zip lock bag on ground, sodden log sheet. We placed a new log in a new bag included the old one and hid it behind a root in high in the tree. CO may like to check our work, and return with a new container at some stage soon. If CO is not happy, I hope she/he gets in touch with us to advise - happy to lose the smilie if this is the case.
Thanks dahumbug for taking me to somewhere of my past.
Thanks dahumbug for taking me to somewhere of my past.
Even with the help of earlier logs and a local who tried to spy it for me we still could no find it. He had seen it previously and thought it now must be gone.
Can I say I found it but cant as no signy's, one cant do what they could when they were young plus too many muggles.
it must be up high to stay out of the water.

Out with Macca54 today and we saw it but couldnt retrieve it!! took a photo though lol
Thank you dahumbug for the cache but i am too fat & old for the fitness required. Billyjoy and I took a photo instead.
Out conquring a fear today climbed tree to log cache thank you for cache out with geo wife
Arriving at gz, there was nary a soul in the park when I arrived but some random guy pulled up right behind me and just sat in his car having a smoko. It always turns out this way. [:(!] I waited him out and he finally left. Then I began in earnest looking for the cache. I finally resorted to the logs and discovered I was at the right place but just did not look high enough. I spotted the lofty container from the ground but was not wearing the proper footwear for such an ambitious retrieval. I threw caution to the wind and went for it anyway. After a few minutes I was at the cache. With one hand on the tree I used the other hand to unscrew the lid and retrieve the log. I precariously crouched on my perch to sign the log and returned as found. Somehow I managed not to break my neck. Thanks for a great hide dahumbug. [^]
On my third tree climb of the day (thanks to Konie's sense of humour after I had asked for a couple of challenging hunts) and I was finally developing some tree-climbing expertise. However I still hadn't developed any extra height, so this one was a real stretch for me - on tiptoe and wedged against the branch behind me as I opened the cache with my fingertips and tried not to lose any parts of it. Thanks for this challenge, dahumbug, I had great fun.
Lucky Graham likes climbing trees! A few minutes later and we could have got some younger legs to retrieve it for us. Nice meeting EmuGraham and boys! Log is very full. It's a very nice park that we have never stopped at before tftc
this IS NOT for the faint hearted. l doubt flood waters would get that high lol. the things we do for a smilie. tftc
On my way to Dunethin Rock I decided to do a few caches. Yay I finally found this one! I tried a couple of years ago with no luck. Last year I didn't try as I had the kids with me. Today I climbed and I climbed and then I looked. I spotted it up even higher. So I climbed again and signed the log. I kept say "Don't drop the lid! Don't drop the lid!" Thankfully I didn't . TFTC! Glad to finally have a smiley for this one
This is one of those caches that for some reason I have driven by so many times though just never had the chance to drop in. Well, today that was about to change!
When driving past today I had a few minutes to spare and diverted off my route. Not before long I was parking the car and heading towards ground zero. With an inspection of the area, nothing was standing out to me... 'Hmmm...', I thought. I was going to have to go in for a closer inspection.
With the world passing me by, I made my way closer to the Gods. Once at a nice spot, I surveyed the area and from this vantagepoint something was now plain as day. So with this sighting, I made my way to the cache.
Once in hand, I placed my name in the log and then returned everything home for the next lucky Cacher to come along.
Thanks for the cache dahumbug. All is in great order here.

Up I went in the dark not a problem love this sort of thing so much I might have to give it my favourite point for the day.
Found with REDlightningAUS. He did the dash cause I'm not fond of heights. Wouldn't be suitable for young kids or people with bad backs lol. Fun one though ! TFTC
Note: log was found scrunched up into a ball. Could do with a new one rolled up neatly and treated with respect

Love the climb. Needs a new log as it looks like the last person scrunched it up and it's torn and weak
A group of us where meeting up before the event today to find a few of the more challenging caches around this area.
This was our first one for the day.
With everyone gathered at GZ two likely volunteers where elected to go in search of the container.
It was a little wet at the time so caution was needed but we eventually saw the prize and had it retrieved.
The log book was signed, the cache container put back and we were onto the next.
Thanks dahumbug for a cache that was a lot of fun and for the little history lesson on the area.

Up for a Wesso event, but decided to grab a couple of higher terrain caches first. This was the meeting point for our group.
Quickly spotted and retrieved. Logbook signed and returned.

We were out for the morning with a few teams from the Northside Puzzle Group before heading off to Wesso Family's Birthday Bash Event. Our aim for the day was mostly to find a few caches which would help us all to increase our Difficulty / Terrain average.
This was our meeting point for the day and on cue, the rain decided to start but it wasn't long before the shower passed and after everyone had arrived, we checked out ground zero where the cahe was easily spied. We had some agile companions along the group and with our name in the log book, we made our way to the next cache on our list for the day.
Thank you dahumbug for having placed the cache and maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

Saturday. Slow Puncture were having a caching day with La Kedi, up the Sunshine Coast way. Later, we would attend Wesso's Little Mountain Birthday Bash, but prior to that, we are meeting up with a number of others from the Northside Puzzle Group to nab some higher terrain caches.
Our car was the second last to arrive (but still prior to the appointed time), and as we did so, it started to p*ss down. Hmmm, this will be interesting. Our entire group had arrived by the time kick off came, and at that time we all assembled under the tree to see if we could spot it from below.
Dennis had already spotted the container prior to our arrival, and Sam was nominated as the most expendable (oops! I mean, most agile ) to scale the slippery heights. Scale he did, and as a result, the cache was found and the logbook signed.
This was the 3rd of 10 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***dahumbug***, for showing us this place. I can remember as a young boy stopping here on a trip north with my Dad. That was in the 60s

**Smilie # 3605**
Out & about with a group of strangelings from NPG to trim some trees & add some smilies before the planned invasion of Wesso's Little Mountain Birthday Bash!
Knowing FastEd59's propensity to get the job done & move on, with no dilly dallying, we arrived early to find ourselves flying solo.
A quick recce & the cache was soon spotted from below (it took about 2 seconds actually! LOL ...).
Should we?
No, that would be nasty!
We agreed to join the 'group', so WAIT we would!
It wasn't long before FastEd59 arrived, with his entourage in tow, & before long the Geo-beasts were filling the car park.
Quite an impressive turn-out really! LOL ...
Straws were drawn & the ever (in?)dispensible Sam was quick to 'volunteer' to tackle the slippery upward journey (& a fine job he did too).
Not to be outdone, everyone's much welcomed & favourite Capuchin (have you seen the man climb trees? WOW!) Chris, was soon performing his acrobatic skills amongst the foliage.
The cache was quickly in hand & the next thing you know it's not just raining rain but pens also.
I narrowly missed having an eye taken out but then, that's the risks we geo-crazies take!
Giving a demonstration of my hand/eye co-ordination skills, a quick toss (read 'throw') & the scribble stick was airborne straight into the waiting hands of Slammin' Sam!
Howzat?
Talk about a combination of skills, geocaching, birdwatching, tree climbing, cabre tossing & now cricket!
We were going to mark the log NPG Rules! but knowing the CO's personal preference for individual monikers we added the 749 names of those present, replaced everything in good order & started piling into our respective Geo-beasts to get out of the rain (& leaving Sam & Chris to their own means to reach ground level once more!).
A great start to the day.

I found it a few months back, but could not get high enough. This time determined, I climbed the tree and could only just reach the bottom of it. knowing this time I must get it, I reached up and twisted the lid. thinking only the lid was attached to the string I pulled the container only to find the lid pummelling toward the ground. finally logging the cache, I yelled in triumph: "Take that Humbug!"

After finding a few caches in a nearby area, it was time to make a decision, up the mountain to Mapleton and Montville, or across through Buderim. Well today Buderim won, as I did not want to be to late getting to checkin for the hotel.
I picked off a couple of caches to grab along the way and this was the first. I got to the spot and figured there must be something more difficult for the rating. Soon I knew what I needed to do and got started, soon enough there I was right where the cache was waiting for me. I got my name in the log book and soon back on the road.

After doing a few tree climbs, a friend mentioned this one. So we pressed that navigation button and off we went!
This was a quick climb... So quick that my monkey man mate had it before I could blink and climb up after him. Thanks for another tree climb Dahumbug. We really enjoy them.

Touched... but log not entered. Way to high for this generatric monkey to be up a tree
I hadn't realised I need to detour this far to get to Dunethin rock but as I sat at the traffic lights I scanned the map and what do I see. A quick u-turn and up I go. It took a minute or so to spot it but I soon had my name in the log. Nothing like a good tree climb in the morning.
Thanx hum

Nice cache. Up very very high and a little bit bigger than a micro. But it was definitely a favorite! Tftc.
Think we know the tree , climbed up a little way, couldnt see anything & not prepared to go higher.need someone younger to do the climb.thanks anyway.
Out with Mickezza, sure we got the right tree and sent Kezza up there but weren't game to go too high. Will have to wait until we have some monkeys with us.
Wow, nice tree but couldn't see anything. As we are all oldies we climbed a little ways but still couldn't see anything. Too scare to climb higher.,our bones break easily now. Thanks anyway.
Our first climbing geocache. I had the kids up there searching around everywhere but upon spotting it realised this one was going to be to hard for Master 6 and Miss 4 to retrive themselves. It's definitely a long way above flood level as we have seen this park in good flood being locals.
My coin gift would not fit in container so left it in tree folk. Hope you find it
What a fab climbing tree! Geokids a bit small so uncle sent up there. TFTC.

After our last attempt in October 2013, today was the day!!! I had just had our cherry pickers serviced and I was all set to go.
I parked nearby and got positioned for a quick retrieval. I noticed that the CO had replaced the old container with a brand new one and I was the first to sign our name in the new clean log sheet, which must have been replaced earlier today, because of the date on the new log.
With the log signed and cache replaced, it was time to hit the road again and do some work.
TFTC dahumbug - It was nice to get this one ticked off my list.

Met the CO at this one after the Happy Pi Event held in Buderim. Sent the little Geo-Monkies up on a recon mission and it wasn't long until one of them called out the words you love to hear..."Found It!!!" Now the next problem was how to get it. After a bit of team work Master 10 and I had it in our hands. Log was wet and mouldy so replacement log was provided. Next bit of fun was getting the log back into the cache without dropping it. Thanks for a challenging cacahe dahumbug
we started our day at the amazing pi event in buderim. some of the peeps at the event were talking about dahumbugs crazy climbing caches, and it seemed fitting that we continue the climbing theme of the day. stopping off at wappa dam first!
lucky for us dahumbug met us at this cache!!!! the pressure was on!!! up went the monkeys..... higher..... higher still..... yep higher!!!!! finally geojnr 10 calls found it!!! how the hell did he find that tiny lil bison tube all the way up that bloody tree i'll never know!!!!! dropping the cache in front of the cache owner was a little unnerving!!!! found it, logged it, replaced it and on to the next climby cache!!!!

Picking up a few more on the way back to camp this afternoon. Well the way back to camp via Maccas for a coffee and cake
I managed to pick a good time to visit this one. There was one car in the rest spot, but it was way over the other side.
I made my way to GZ and had a bit of a look. I could not see the cache so I decided to try a different view point. Still nothing and all the stuff in my pockets was causing trouble. Back to the car to leave a few things and back for another look.
Ah, there it is, now to get it. I got half way and lost it again. Where did it go [?]
A bit of wriggling and squirming and I could see the target again. A well placed cache that is challenging, but provides what I consider a nice safe spot to sign the log. [^]

Lisylou had a go at this one, it was really a team effort though as the pen was forgot, and the log was dropped!
My mum climbed up to this cache, cache spotted by bennyboppers and then more climbing from misssusan with pen and log that fell out. Mummy was glad to finally make find here. TFtc.
Lisylou climbed up to this one, but it was a bit of a team effort as we helped look from below, and then had to help find the dropped log and get a pen!
Found with my family and friends on a day out to Nambour and the coast. My mum wanted to stop here as she'd tried this one before. She climbed the tree, forgot thenpen and dropped the log, it was a team effort. Tftc
I had visited here once before and climbed a short way up the tree but being on my own and it being drizzly and wet I decided to give it a miss. Back today I was determined to get this one this time round. My turn for a tree climb, so up I g and a bit more. Looking looking looking. ? Bennyboppers from beloe say is that it up there oh yes, so up I go a bit further and a bit further.oh bugger no pej. Misssusan thn climbs up half way and I wriggle back down a little to grab the pen then back up to get the cache. As I opened the cache and go to grab the log, where is it, it dropped out onto the ground. Bennyboppers picked it up from the ground and said here it is. So I dropped the pen back down so she could sign. It was then passed back to misssusan then back to me and the log was replaced back into the cache.
Glad to tick that one off finally and a great tree to climb. Tftc

Spotted then up lisylou went out with krazykrissy and geojaegar and missussan and geokids
Lisylou had visited here previously but it was raining so we came back again today. Lisylou went up this time. Bennyboppers spotted the hide from below and directed our view. Lisylou thens exclaims I don't have my pen, so up I went (arms and legs still sore from a Qrazy climb nearby) to deliver my pen, then again to deliver the log which had fallen too.
Well now, it's about time! The number of times I've been up this tree on a wild goose chase. Quiet moment on my own, just passing by and I thought "Why not? It has been a while. "Up I went snooping about higher than usual but with unrelated things on my mind. Maybe that's the secret. A relaxed (see distracted) mind and presto! It just appeared. Log is moist and a bit mouldy but serviceable. Not much room on it though. Tft challenge. Quite content now.
Aww ;( couldn't find! Come from England and my sisters house is just up the road walked here but didn't think it would be so hard to climb in flip flops lol, will try again but I couldn't even see it x(
Coming past today after dropping A at dance rehearsal with the rest of the spiderwebbs and with no tight time constraints, so thought we`d have another go. One year after the first try and after passing the tree another 500 or so times to and fro work.
I was not dressed appropriately for tree climbing (skirt and sandals) so E being the best climber and youngest nominated herself to go first. I looked up from the ground and spotted it almost straight away - amazed after such difficulty last time - must have just been in the right viewing spot with the right light this time.
I called out instructions to E with J following close behind.
It really is high though and the branches looked really thin up there from below. E managed to stretch and remove it passing down to J just below with the pen.
Yay, at last - so proud of my climbers.
Bit tricky to replace but E managed to reattach and descend safely.

P.S. Later J could not find his wallet while at the shops, then home and after ransacking the house, it still had not appeared. He had an idea when heading back through Woombye, and sure enough there it was sitting under the tree! Luckily there'd been no others visitors in the meantime..

Sweet-Sour's log says to climb higher than one's comfort zone. Fortunately Mr Seizer's comfort zone is very extensive, and after all, someone has to stay on the ground to take the pictures, don't they ? So I sacrificed myself once again

Second go at finding this.. Had privatears laughing from the sidelines and da hum bug sending not helpful maps but I FOUND IT!!! Woohoo!!
Oh that's so frustrating after climbing so high getting stuck so many times and nearly loosing an eye twice.. I still couldn't find it.. It's not going to get the better of me, I'll w back to claim it!
Unfortunately my pen ran out. But I did get the date written. good one for the older kids.
On the way home from a very unsuccessful day at the Big Pineapple Markets, thought we would cheer ourselves up with a few 's.

Was trying to find a few caches tonight while I had the night off from the kids. This was on my way and although this park freaks me out a little, I thought I'd give it a go. I pulled up near where I was supposed to go - had a quick read of the cache info and thought - yep, won't look there...then I read the logs and a few not so nice words came to my mind!
I haven't climbed anything in over 20 years, and in the dark!?!?!?!?!
I was here, I wanted a couple of caches so I thought I'll go up a little. A few minutes later and I looked down....eeep, didn't realise I was that high. Quick check, nope need to go higher - up I was balancing precariously and feeling around and I couldn't find anything! I wasn't giving up, I was all this way up here - lovely view btw - so I found a perch and sent the CO a quick message. However, before I heard back I flashed my torch around again and noticed something a little out of the ordinary.
AHA - I found the cache - torch in pocket, pen out, balancing carefully I signed the log and replaced it before attempting the climb down.
My first dahumbug cache (not counting the highway one's) and my first climb - thanks heaps, I really enjoyed this one. FP from me

We had some time to kill so we decided to look for a cache. Our third attempt, but still couldn't find it.
Found, while in the area, on another trip around Australia.
Geo-wife drew the short straw for this one, as geo-hubby has a bad knee.
It took quite an effort to reach the cache, and it was signed with a shaky hand.
Geo-hubby is giving this one a favourite, to remember that his wife made it on her first effort.
Many thanks for placing this cache, dahumbug, for us and others to find.

After competing in the Sunshine Coast Marathon 10km event this morning. I decided instead of doing some uni I'd relax and spend the rest of the day grabbing all of the caches close to home. This was my second attempt at this cache. This time i thought id be wise and bring along a second and third pair of eyes, dad came along and i was introducing my brother to geocaching. However after a 25min search the cache couldn't be found. TFTC!
I was on a bit of a run with dahumbug caches so I thought that I'd give this one another go. I had asked the CO for a bit of a hint and the reply confirmed my concerns! Yes, further up!
So I confidently approached the challenge and nimbly gained the required elevation at which point I could see the cache and did what was necessary to reach it. Oh no, it was absolutely saturated and I knew what I had to do. I took it down with me and found a replacement because I considered that it is worth keeping in action. Up I went again for the last time ... at this location at least!
No excuses now people, all good to find and you might just have some fun too. Thanks dahumbug!

Well FINALLY I can log this B ??? cache, think I have been up this tree a total of 4 hours over 5 or 6 Visits, today success after a good day out caching I thought I would try my luck here on the return trip home. As I had a slight slip on the branches on a previous visit I had decided I wasn't going any higher without someone around who could act as safety officer (Yep Mrs.K. was on board today )
I ventured a bit further up the tree then the container was sighted, after alot of 3 points of contact on the tree method I managed to retrieve the Verry damp logsheet, signed my shortened caching name - KFAU and date - be it upside down on the logsheet then replaced, a happy return back down to the ground and a quick Yep Happy dance! then home for a beer..

Wahoo, great hiding spot. Hope you're not afraid of heights!! Very very wet log, couldn't sign it.
Didn't find the cache.

On my way to an event at Lake Dunethin. Started climbing and searching but then a car pulled up right in front. Had to discontinue.
Finally dahumbug I've found this dastardly cache. Previous attempts I hadn't gone high enough and Sierra also gave me a tip or two. The log is very wet. I go past this one a lot so I'll pop a log in the car and replace next time I'm going past.
#435 @ 10:54AM Knowing that I would have to climb high for a find I had cache in hand quickly. Log is completely wet and pen wouldn't write. Needs replacing for any more signatures. ~ TFTC dahumbug
Climbed the tree, nothing, think it was the right tree.
Thanks for the hunt dahumbug

I was going past so why not have a 'rest' stop. I didn't have much rest or luck but I did have some fun. Thanks dahumbug, I'll be back!
Stopped by today with thehairbear on our way back from gymnastics. We parked near GZ and waited a short time for a muggle chatting on the phone in her car to depart. Once she had gone it was over to GZ for a closer look.
A short climb and the cache was soon in hand. Unfortunately the log extraction took a bit longer. All I can say is the log for Cobbs Camp is.....very damp! We enjoyed sitting on our chosen perch too!
After extracting the log my pen actually worked on the paper so after adding our names all was returned as found. It definitely needs a new log, sorry I didn't have a spare with me today.
A log made from write in the rain paper will probably survive a bit longer.

Hi Found it with geo friends, lucky they can climb, log damp put in extra paper. TFTC
Luckily I was caching with some nimble, sure-footed family members. Took a little while.
Thanks for the great cache dahumbug.

While we were in the area, we thought we'd have a go at this one. Wow! Lucky for me seirra1 was with me and managed to spot the cache after a short search. TFTC dahumbug
#265~ Oh yeah, I said, it's definitely that one. Scrambled out of the car and started the climb. I would just like to take this opportunity dahumbug to remind you that you know me and you would agree that I am indeed not a monkey Lucky my daughters boyfriend is, even wanting to go do your other freaky scary one, so he clambered up much higher than I was able or willing to. When a teenage boy gets a little shaky and frightened, you know that anyone scared of heights is not going to like this one. TFTC dahumbug
No luck for us today with this one. Neither of us are keen on climbing trees, although we gave it a bit of an attempt.
Luckily for me when we arrived the fitter parties of the group had already made the climb.
Part of the MEG#10 mob. Made it thru the day with no leaches, ticks, scratches and best of all no DNF’s. Once again thanks to Bulldozer72 for chauffeuring all day.
Lucky enough to be a part of this great game and for P’ to include us all in one of his Missions for 2013.

Mobbed by MEG 10. What is MEG? Amongst a few 2013 GEOGoals I've set myself, one I have dubbed Mission Empty Glass (MEG for short). This involves tackling all caches I've not already found in an area I've defined loosely as 'The Glasshouse Mountains'. Every multi, every micro, every mystery, every mountain and everything in between. This is the tenth such group trip, and we aren't quite done yet.
As the day carried on the rain eased a small amount and we started to thread our way around the outskirts of Nambour. Knowing what was in store here as we pulled up I spotted my chance and hit the hide at speed, enough momentum to make it in front of two other wanna be climbers with one rather impressive (if I do say so myself ) gymnastic move I will never never repeat. [xx(] Honest. Scrambled towards GZ and at the limits of my comfort zone I spotted my prize some too many feet above. Limits stretched and container was in my hand. I remained there somewhat precariously while cache signing occurred at safer elevations, and managed to replace it and emerge at ground level before gravity worked out what I was up to. Phew.
I enjoyed that.
Thanks for placing this cache, dahumbug. Mobbed in good condition.
