My fourth visit here armed with ideas where it might be. No such luck. Another search yielded nothing. If it is there then it is a great hide and really deserves a D4.5. Oh well, will try again next time, some time, when my eyesight will be even worse!
Well this one stumped us on our last visit but we see there was a run of DNFs followed by the cache being replaced. So once again we looked, we pondered and we looked some more. Eventually we were approached by the local land owner who came over for a friendly chat. He mentioned that over the course of the chat we had looked directly at it a couple of times so we persevered. When at last we were in the right place and still coming up empty he had a closer look and confirmed what it was we were looking for and that it was no longer there.
#8365. After our DNF in April last year, we returned today to Ranfurly Road in Feilding to have another look for this elusive cache. Enjoyed seeing the corrugated iron cows again. Searched for some time. After quite a bit of perseverance, we eventually found this well-hidden cache. We must have looked at this spot several times during the various passes. But glad we found it in the end. The log was rather damp, but still writeable. The cache itself was in otherwise good condition. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

Last weekend, I had a solo trip over to Feilding to find this cache - I failed. After getting a hint, my little girl and I had another look this morning after a visit to the sale yards... and found it.
Definitely wouldn't have spotted this without the extra help - thanks! Miss Three was very disappointed she couldn't touch the cows.

After many a try and lots of puzzlement this one was finally retrieved... found a nice blank log and the cool container was dry inside despite all the rain recently
Thanks for the cache and the setting. The art is awesome and this is a peaceful place to visit!

Here for 4th attempt, armed with a hint and prepared to take my time... but still came away empty handed and wondering if it could be Missing in action.
After lots of hunting we decided to leave this today. Will need to return some time
Our second time here and armed with more information, but despite an intensive search still no cache.
No luck today. Not suprised for a 4.5 difficulty. Will return another time with fresh eyes.
After coming back for a second time and still not having any luck we got a small hint from a previous finder. Devious hide as u think u are looking in a different area to where u need to look tftc
No live cows here today but three sheep came over to see what was up.Took a few minutes to find but got there in the end!The iron cows are definitely a work of art! Thanks for the cache!
#1882 As i was picked up just after 4am to head to the Manawatu I realised this was not going to be a dot day. This was an attempt to get 270 caches in one day. There are a couple of great circuits in the Manawatu that will help work toward this goal so thanks to the CO's that have placed them for our enjoyment.
Thanks also to my partner in geo crime and driver for the day Yetrees. Without an able driver an attempt such as this would be impracticable so thanks for enabling it.
Thanks to all the CO's for their contribution to my smilie tally.
It is forecast to be a long day geocaching, hoping to make the 270 target. To be honest I'd be pretty happy with 200, however why not go for the Emerald badge (see project-gc.com)

After a few previous attempts at this, pretty much each time we have been in Feilding visiting family in the past 2 years since we discovered geocaching, we were again having lunch with family around the corner so thought we would have yet another go. One of the mini cachers decided to just lie down under the seat, one helped me search. We searched everywhere we could think of again. Then a car pulled into the driveway just across the paddock, and stopped. We pretended to be looking at the cows, when the lovely man cam wandering up the road towards us. He said "it's tricky isn't it". We agreed and I asked if he had found it. He said he had, and had just recently although he had noticed it had moved a bit. He was going to give us a hint, and we were just chatting for a while when my mini cacher came out from under the chair and had a wee look somewhere and came up with the cache. We didn't need a hint after all. So pleased to make a find here. Love the cows in the paddock. What a sneaky wee hiding place. Have to give this a favourite for the location and difficulty and frustration level it has caused. Found with darthcacher1 and purply.
Now that was a tad bit trickier, had to be stealth az though due to muggles..... Found within 10min but it had me thinking there for a bit. Almost left but persevered for a good outcome. Awesome day caching #10 for the day. And last one for now. Happy hunting peoples
my 14th find for the day, which almost wasnt. I spent way too long looking for this. I was sure I was looking for something different to what I eventually found. Almost gave up 3 times, but continued because I wanted that D4.5 checked off on my grid! Once you know where it is you think it i easy, but this definitely deserves the rating it has. Fav Point from me. TFTC
Visited this area back in October, with both kids with us, they got restless and we reluctantly left after a short look about.
Today just me and Hyjynx at the placement of said cache, so knew it should be better for looking.
Got to the familiar area, and was telling Hyjynx that we were not leaving till we got the smiley here, when she interrupted me with cache in hand...... sigh......
Well, that was less hassle than we expected, road to street however, is still a thorn in our side.
Cache found in good shape, container and log are well.
Cheers SetuCurst

As this cache has also eluded me before I had to give it another crack while grabbing a few others over this way. Since my last visit I had contacted the CO who provided a little advice but not enough to give the game away so parked down the road and walked up to GZ hoping I may find it his time! The cows looked pleased to see me again!
Anyways, GPSr was telling me GZ was a few metres down the fence line so ignored that and intended to search the same area/structure I did last time. As I did I spied something a bit out of place, in a spot where I had searched twice previously, is that the cache - yes it is, woohoo! Signed the log, job done. Thanks for the placement of this cleverly sneaky hide SetuCurst - well done. Gets a FP.

Took extra help this time, after no luck previously. Came away with the find... happy to knock this off finally. Certainly proved to be one of the more difficult finds I have seen, so yes, I feel the extra stars are appropriate. TFTC.
This one is still eluding me so thanks for increasing the difficulty rating... I don't feel so bad now.
Today I didn't come prepared with tools but I did spot some objects of interest so will return another day!

I have changed the difficulty of this cache from 3.5 stars to 4.5 stars as there is a lot of people having trouble finding it - please let me know if you agree with this new rating
like most others I have visited this cache more than once , twice, three, four times with no luck but after some very puzzling encouragement we were able to log this one tftc.
Wandering around Feilding grabbing a few caches, but not at this spot - that's two in a row! Spent a lot of time looking as there was no one about in the rain, but DNF.
Third attempt at this one.
The first was with no hint and we were way off. The second was with a mis-interpretted hint and no joy. This attempt was with a good hint and still no joy!
This is the only of the top 20 favorited caches I have within 20 miles I don't have so I needed it for a challenge (GC37RNW), plans fell through for getting that cache which is probably just as well with how elusive this cache is being for me.
Had to keep stopping too - how many pedestrians are there on this road?!

Stopped to have another go at this one with a cacher who had already found it and he confirmed that it wasn't there.
Very nice corrugated iron cows. We searched for quite some time for the cache to no avail. When we were about to call it a day, the property owner farmer came by and asked us if we had found it. He knew the existence of the cache and where it was supposed to be hidden. He offered to have a look himself if we walked some distance and looked away without peeping. Sadly after a little search, he reported the cache wasn't there. Oh well.
On our third vist at least, after searching for some time, we eventually found this sneaky little hide. The lifelike cows make this cache worth a favourite. We replaced the wet log with a waterproof log sheet. TFTC
Log is damp to the point of being unable to be written on, might need waterproof paper for this one.
Have found a few of these containers now and knew that this was the cache when we finally spotted it. Did search a number of other places first but the GPSr kept coming back to a particular area where the cache was found. Unfortunately moisture has managed to get into the container an the logbook was too damp to sign properly. Managed an 'A7NZ' (which we use for tiny logbooks) but the date didn't really come out too well and didn't want to damage the fragile paper. Took a photo as proof before returning the cache to its hiding spot and heading home for the evening. TFTC.
Ok, so after six previous visits I had to get a hint from the CO - this was REALLY hard but a goodie.
A fellow cacher who had previously found it, gave me a hint but it didn't help, so she came to help and also couldn't find it hence the extra hint needed from the CO.
I had to park way down the road and walk up because after the number of times I parked in the closest driveway I was sure I would have been on the verge of being reported to the police for loitering lol. I give this one a favourite! Great effort by the CO. Thank you

Went and checked on this one today and can confirm 100% that the cache is still there
We have been to this one about 6 times since the last found and have had hints as to what and where it is and we still can't find it. Maybe gone?
Thought we had a good look here today, but obviously not in the right place. Will try again next time we are in Feilding
We did find it ! Marie did..The cache was in a wet condition..Might need checking !
Cool cows, they look so real! Love the way we can be so artistic with corrugated iron. I think I was extremely lucky on this one as it was an instant find, wish a few of the other caches I've been looking for today were the same! TFTC, #6913
My 2nd time looking for this one. What a great cache.
Tricky, tricky, tricky.

Caching expedition in the Manuwatu region. Spent quite a while searching, but had to admit defeat on this one. Will try again when next in the area. TFTC
Visited this site a couple of times, this time we called on reinforcements and soon found it,got to be a favorite many thanks
Oh we nearly gave up. Visited this twice and time was against us so had to rush and feeling quite frustrated as didn't want to log dnf. But there it was. A satisfying find and we hadn't seen this before. Yep a favourite from us
Would never have found this one if the property owner hadn't come along and helped us out. It is an evil little cache! The man who lives here was great tho gave us a few clues but didn't tell us right out where it was. Now we know how even the smallest thing needs to be investigated....
The kids love biking up to this spot where we have a rest and watch the cows.
Just couldn't get it this morning but went to Popmacs event and came back armed with more info very well done woth a FP
Couldn't find this one.
Looked for quite a while, but didn't spot anything that looked out of place.
Thanks.

Thanks.
Although the delightfully realistic cows made our visit worthwhile, despite six pairs of eyes searching for some time, this obviously cunningly hidden cache defeated us today.
Cool cache, wicked spot. Took a bit of searching, a couple of chickens even came to see what we were doing. TFTC
This one was a tricky little cache to find. Even knowing kind of what I was meant to be looking for, it still took me about 10 mins to located. I found it eventually, much to my relief. TFTC
We had just started looking when a car pulled up. Turned out to be the land owner, who knew what we were up to, & had tried unsuccessfully to find it himself, so was curious if we'd found it.
We looked for quite a while with some pre conceived idea's of what it would be, without any luck, when the muggle rather embarrassingly said he'd seen it, but didn't tell us where- well done to you sir! We continued our search to the muggles amusement & with him informing us we were close, we found it.
A clever little hide, we we're actually familiar with, but was too focused on other idea's.
Thanks to the land owner for providing such an interesting display of art work for us to look at, & thanks to the CO for placing the cache.

Awesome! Found it by accident after searching all over the area. Really neat hide. Tftc our favourite for the day.
found on a fly thru trip to fielding the kids loved the cows with little miss even asking to pat one. Unfotunately forgot to log sooner. TfTC
Love the cows, they are very well done. And great having a seat to enjoy the view .
After examining the obvious spot, we realised the cache difficulty rating meant we would would have to look for something a bit more tricky, then StreetWalker saw something which turned out to be the cache.
A location well deserving a cache placment. TFTC.

#7074. Loved the cows and the special viewing seat. Took a second look at the camo before I realised the cache was lurking there. Nicely hidden. TFTC.
[green] Cycled out with Bright_Jun for a rather long trip out to Feilding - had to drop some stuff off at a farmer friend. Instead of 23 km to here from home, it was 30 km. Okay, not so bad. Plus 2 caches in my backpack to place.
These cows are pretty cool! Jun and I loved them. Sat and watched them for a while. Gets a favourite from me!

I couldn't find this one this morning but had some time this afternoon to give it another go. After another hunt around I still couldn't find it so used a PAF.
CO may want to check up on this cache to ensure all is good as I found the cache upside down and it was a bit of an arm stretch to reach it so it may have moved from it's intended hiding spot.

Nearly our last cache before having dinner with Mrs RiffRaffs Dad. She loves stuff like this! But didn't love the huge spider when she went to check the corners for the usual hides. Eeeekkkk! LOL Ruled out the usual suspects and then started a more in-depth search - had Mr RiffRaff on his knees but soon spotted the camo that blended in nicely - almost discounted it but have learnt how crafty we cachers can be so gave it another look before moving on. Soon signed, one last look and on our way. TFTC
Have always admired these awesome pieces of art, would fancy some on my front lawn! Came across lots of waddling ducks crossing road, kids thought that was neat. Quick find, neat wee container and disguise on the end. We parked down the road and walked the short distance up, its safer. TFTC
Took a while. On holiday from Australia . Went geocaching with my grandparents and JonoS.tftc
A morning of geocaching with JonoS and mmomoo21 my 8 year old grandson from the Gold coast. He was very handy for creeping under things, feeling down low as well as scrambling up slopes.
Searched high and low but it was found by Oliver after PAF. Clever cache and well worth a favouriteTFTC

Found with assistance of MOOMOO21 who is more agile. Came thinking I was going to have to look under the cows! But find was a little closer to hand.
Found with MJMNZ & Moomoo21

Relatively quick find as GZ was spot on. .. thanks. Nice hide. And the cows are very good. I loved the cow sitting down! So real. Thanks for showing these bovines to me.
Came here today with two muggles after visiting the Scout Jamboree. It is a brilliantly cunning hide, that I had overlooked. Found by David.
After an earlier failed attempt we returned today with reinforcements and sharper eyes. This paid off - thanks Sophie. Found with SiderosNZ. Gets a favourite from us for originality and challenge, and we liked the cows too. TFTC
Had my eye on this site for a hide of my own but dallied too long. Pleased to find this tricky little cache, more by luck I found and signed in.
Worth a fave as a first if this type we've seen

6.25am - Quick find as cache was out in open, might pay for CO to check that I have replaced it back in the right spot. SLTFTC
Interesting sculptures. Wasn't sure if they were on public land or not though. Spend a good 10mins or so searching before Popmac made the find, and Mrs 2wombles retrieved the cache. Thanks for the cache.
Out caching with 2wombles, I found this tricky hide, Mrs 2wombles retrieved the cache for me. Thanks for the cache.
