Well what a fab day we've had doing this section !
We had been planning it for a couple of weeks and decided to have an early start , so we could have an early finish.
The weatherman had warned us of bad rain and sure enough we woke up and the rain was heavy ,but that wasn't going to stop us , oh no!
By the time we drove over from the other Adlington and we'd done a few caches the sun was out and we were boiling our bums off in our wet weather gear !result !
So we've had lots of up bits , down bits and fields of horses and cows who didn't bother us , phew !
This gets a favourite point for the series of great caches , thanks for all the hard work and we will be back for more soon.
Left a tb too

Wow the views are stunning from up here today and would be even better if it wasn't so hazy. We must come back on a clear day for another look. Great cache. TFTC
This is the 4th section that was completed, the weather was kinder today, wonderful views from here, a fav point for this container.

8140 + 981 = 9121. Found during a wonderful wander around the countryside…
Spending a few days in Manchester for a wedding I had a day to myself to go caching. These series looked very interesting and being Letterbox Hybrids I couldn’t resist doing some of them. Parked as near as could in these narrow roads and started the big walk (25kms today for 35 caches !). A quick find at GZ. Blowing a Gale up here today ! Some interesting info nearby.
Thanks again P R E D A T O R S !! A Favourite Point from Me !
TNLN – TFTC !!
Cheers from Australia….

Carried on up the hill from #14. Jessica spotted the hiding spot. Jessica and Phillip swapped items

Wow, wow & wow! The cache was impressive and as for the goodies, kids would have a field day. As we were engrossed in the contents we were caught red handed by fellow cachers Geogeriatrics, lovely to meet you both and enjoyed chatting with you. We took the TB for onward travel. TFTC
There wasn't much room left in this well hidden big box. We left a £1 coin, strictly for kids only! On our way back we encountered fellow cachers Arrowrat at this cache and had a nice chat. Fantastic views up here. Worth a favourite.

Fantastic Cache well hidden as well and full of goodies, didn't notice the TB though but must admit I didn't really look for it as there was so much stuff in there. Lovely spot.
Another great location. Glad it was quiet up here today [:o] I think this one could be tricky to extract if there were lots of people up here! TFTC
After a long week at work, it was great to be out again today to complete another section on this fantastic series This week, we decided to complete the TALBOL section and also mop up our 2 DNF's on TALKET and TALLAM. We were really lucky with the weather, only encountering a couple of brief hail showers, and ending the day on Kerridge Ridge in glorious sunshine. We had expected much worse conditions after all the rain yesterday Another fantastic walk that took us 6 and three quarter hours to complete the 22.5km with detours and 673 metres ascent on this section. Yet again some stunning views and nice straight forward finds to keep us moving at a steady space. We really do appreciate the effort that has gone into placing this excellent series We hope to complete our last section next weekend - not sure what we'll do once we've completed the series [:o] Thanks for another great day
Our day 7 stats:
Distance walked: 133km
Total ascent: 4,390 metres
Time taken: 42.5 hours
Caches found: 336

Another fab super sized cache. Did some high quality geotat swaps as well as a TB swap. Great views and I could even see the Etihad stadium. For that one it deserves a favourite. Many thanks
Another day, another alien to find. Life's tough like that sometimes As with the other series, we split this into 2 (for us) more manageable chunks. We picked up Grandad, grabbed a local cache on the way, and began this series at the beginning. The weather was crazy! We had sun, wind, rain, hail and sleet. Summer's coming then... Great views of a stormy Cheshire Plain could be had at #12. We liked the mine cap near this one. From here we headed out as far as #22, where the puppies set Junior off on an almighty moaning spree, 'I'll have left home before we get a dog', and so on and so forth... From there it was a few IVBH caches before picking this series back up again at #48 to 50, where we were really close to a woodpecker. After that we hoovered up a few other waif and strays, bagging 36 in total before heading off to the pub. Another great TAL route, we're looking forward to coming back for the rest. Thanks so much for putting them out. Found with Grandad, TFTC Dropped a TB in here.
Found at 13:04, #13 of 57 finds today.
Having set up a re-supply dump between #27 and #28 I moved on to the parking, kitted up and set off down the canal. For a change, an easy start to one of these trails, lots of flat walking. Very quiet along the canal today, no passing boats and few walkers. Noisy doggle across the way from #3 though. I was pleased to find that the field at #7 was bovine-free, and not at all muddy today.
First proper uphill stretch after #8, on the way up to Birchencliffe Farm. The climb steepened as I made my way up to the flagship cache, but the views back did compensate for it. Not too blowy today so I was able to enjoy it (although it did get quite breezy at the top). I loved the mining monument near here.
Sharp climb up to #17 then some easy walking along the ridge. Interestingly named feature at #18. Cute free-range piggies on the way to #21. Passed by some more of those funny long-necked sheep on the way to #23. Quite a steep descent down to the waterworks by #33, good view across to the Lamaload dam. A DNF for me at #34. I did find the signpost on the way to #37 amusing.
Stiff but short climb up through the woods after #39. Then there was another episode of tough climbing up #43 and Kerridge Hill. Great views along the ridge on the way to #44, especially from the trigpoint.
Before long I was back down on the canal heading for the Finishing Line. Quite strange walking underneath that big red chimney that I'd viewed from such a long way away a few hours ago. Total distance 13.2 miles, completed in 5hrs50. I finished with enough time to go and mop up a couple of previous DNFs on these series, which was nice.
This was another flagship cache to be marked as a favourite. I am slowly drawing close to a conclusion of this saga..
Series stats so far:
Trails tackled: 5 1/2
Distance: 70.5 miles
Time taken: 33hrs45
DNFs: 1

Alien Quest #7.... still collecting all the stamps, with the exception of the 'sub' in the Lamaload Section Box!
Another excellent day - finished off TALFUR & tackled the first half of TALBOL... will probably finish tomorrow Struggling with my Mothership Code though... why is that!
Picked up a useful tip later - take a photo of the codes rather than just copying them down.... helps when it comes to playing with possible alternatives!
Brilliant choice of sites for the SECTION Boxes - each one special though, for the Dartmoor Letterboxing connotations, I'd have to opt for TALFUR on Black Hill, Whaley Moor as my favourite!
