It was the first day of school holidays, and what seemed like one of the first sunny days for an age, so we jotted down a list and headed down the western side of the lakes. 17 finds for the day, including 4 trigs, finding some nice spots too - what a great day.....
I'm sure this spot is nicer in a drought! We sloshed our way in, eventually finding what seemed a GZ, but couldn't turn up a cache. Deeper investigation found a sodden, partially burnt notebook, containing signatures and dates matching this cache..... we left it in the burnt stump, it will need a check sorry.... TFTC

After parking, we second guessed ourselves on whether we should do this one, we decided to just do it, we have been putting this one aside for no apparent reason for too long, but we could've found any better weekend, as the place was pretty soaked. Once we arrived at the cache, we searched with no luck, then dad spotted a wet, sodden logbook sitting on the ground. After verifying it was the logbook, we took a picture and go on our way, might need a bit of maintenance as there is no container.

Nice walk in a patch of bush. Spotted2 wallabies bounding away near GZ. The walk took longer than expected as the access point wasn’t clear. Lots of fallen trees and a few abandoned camp sites. Quick find. Blended in well. TFTC.
And extremely wet and muddy way in. We are glad you told us where the Scout Hall was – we never would have found it from here. TFTC
Yay. Wanted to find 4 caches today but only found this one. Bit boggy around but soon had it in hand.
Found on a nice winter day, parked at Awaba st, and came thruogh the bush, found the cache quickly, nice container, Log signed and caches replaced as found. Thanks For The Cache GeoIan

Merry Christmas all!
Up at the family get together for food, fun and... erm I need a few caches for my calendar.
So after lunch when everyone was slowing down, I snuck out for a few finds.
And being up at the Central Coast means that I have a good selection of caches nearby.
I was hoping for four, but the third find took longer than I’d hoped so I only got three. But that’s enough for the calendar.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
I previously DNFed this a few years ago when it appears the cache had gone AWOL.
Walked from Bernie Goodman Oval and took the right tracks to GZ. And then it started... Like last time I had fun with constantly moving coordinates under the tree cover. One likely area kept being indicated but I spotted nothing there. So checked the logs. Hmmm, maybe...
Checked a number of spots one of which in particular caught my attention. Still nothing.
So around again. Just as I was about to give it up I found myself back at that attention grabber and... You’re kidding.
Made the grab completed signing duties. Replaced and now I definitely need to get back - everyone was waiting for me so we could open presents.

With nicer weather we decided to go for a drive and find a few caches within my 30KM radius. This was a our first stop of the day. Following the car GPS took us to the wrong starting spot so we had to back track. Then it was a nice walk down to GZ. It took us longer to find then it should have but eventually found it. TFTC
OK. I have found it. A little disappointed that the camo has been ripped off it, and its been moved, though the stump I put it in originally has been covered by a fallen tree. My GPS was having difficulty making up its mind, maybe due to tree cover. I will adjust the coordinates slightly. You will need your own pen, as there is none till i get back there. Though you should always have your own just in case.
Coordinates changed from:
S 33° 6.279 E 151° 29.017
Coordinates changed to:
S 33° 6.274 E 151° 29.020
Distance from original: 33.9 feet or 10.3 meters.
Might get you closer

I finally get around to looking at this after a dnf. I was to take a photo so I could show ends where it is. In failing light I could not find it. Place has changed a lot since places. Will need a week to get back to this one to search for its location as the stup I left it in is not visible.
My two scouts and I tried to find this today. We looked around the track, but couldn't find it. A lot of other posts say the coordinates are incorrect, we tried to take this into account, yet no luck.
We had hoped to find this one today but alas it wasn’t to be fading light meant this will have to be done another day.
Thanks GeoIan anyway.

Out and about caching in the area with Tassie Trekkers after attending the OzGeoMuster over Easter in Morisset and this was one we found.. Eventually found a way in from the corner of the Rugby field. TFTC
While still staying at Morisset we travelled around the area with whitewebbs collecting a few caches and this was one of them.
An easy find at GZ.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

We had to do this one on the morning of departure from the OZ Mega event as it is so close to where we are staying.
At first we approached from the wrong side (ha ha). In amongst the bushes was just like in the tropics this morning, humid, wet, steamy and suspect leeches, but didn't accumulate any.
We moved over to the other side and eventually found a usable track in. A search ensued and we were aware the cords were out. Turned up the cache and signed the log. TFTC GeoIan.

Day 9 of our Epic Roadtrip to the OzMuster Mega, Today we once again teamed up with hevwalker and Phoenix Flare to make an assault on the OZGM Geoart. After returning to GZ for a free snag and watching the closing ceremony and Fireworks, we headed back out to clean up a couple in town as we would not have time before leaving in the morning. We were joined at this one by Moneydork who made the eventual find..TFTC
Scratched and hot we finally made the find after a PAF. GPS going everywhere but sneaky hide in the end. TFTC

We were up early and grouped with omegaman1971 and Bushfire ready to go in anticipating a great day. It had taken so long to solve all these puzzles so it was going to be great to put a signature in the log to get the smiley. Most of the finds were made quick enough once getting to GZ. Signed logs as P5. A fun day was had with no DNF's.
Thanks GeoIan for placing the cache for us to find.

After a day of lots of fun but not a lot of actual cache finds compared to the other Mega I went to, I was still wide awake when most people were in bed... so... Off for a late night walk to find a couple of Munzees, look at something else I had seen when being driven past earlier in the day, and come looking for this...
I found a couple dozen Munzees, never did find the other thing (until the next afternoon when I realised I had walked right past without even noticing a whole park, in the dark - lol) and came here and did a few circles and thought maybe I wasn't going to find this... But then I found it... Uncovered, where I had already walked right past it at least once - lol... I guess I should go back to camp and sleep... if the mozzies don't carry me off.
TFTC - pretty little spot... A few different interesting plants, mushrooms, an orb spider, and I can hear a frog or 3 going whuck whuck whuck in the background... and something... Possibly lots of something going peep peep peep all around me in the trees... I have heard them in a lot of places but i still don't know what they are...

I'm at the OzGeoMuster event in Morisset, and today Jess & Caro (minus Jess), Aussieben and I are collecting the the OZGM caches plus a few randoms along the way. We had a fun day out and all our searches ended in smileys.
I wanted to grab the caches near the Mega, so this afternoon I dragged the others out again for a short wander around! I wanted to visit this one as 1st Byattunga scouts did the breakfasts at the Mega, and it was great to see the kids all up so bright and early! I was glad we had Aussieben with us, as there was already a lot of folk searching as we arrived, and we all seemed to have trouble with the co-ords, so Aussieben led us to where he remembered it being. TFTC, GeoIan.

Rapidlywild suggested we head up to the Oz Muster event when it was first published, so between us and a few others we set out to solve the puzzles around the area, not that we got to all of the ones we solved, what a shame we will have to return one day to collect them when the mosquitos are not as active.
We had a great time over the weekend, grabbed lots of caches and met some fellow cachers.
Thanks Rapidlywild for another enjoyable geoadventure.

Had several hours to kill between morning activities and closing for the Mega so of course headed out for more finds, teaming up with Bonfire7 for some quick smilies. Not as quick as other’s logs indicated as we circled several geotrails through razor sharp grass ending up cut (man, that hurt to sleep later!), hot and very itchy. Convincing an adamant BF7 to give up, we tried one more idea on the way back to the car that would more logically match the D/T and finally turned up the cache around 15m out from the posted co-ords. Definitely our most frustrating and least favourite cache of the day.

And Byattunga to you. Took fifteen minutes to find an entry point. Eventually parked in the oval parking area and walked around the oval. Then disappeared behind the bamboo curtain and once along the track frazeydaze soon had CIH. On our return journey we met fellow cacher Bushfire, lovely to meet you Bushfire. We chatted for awhile, he presented frazeydaze with a lovely pathtag and then we went our separate ways. TFTC Geolan.
Leaving Sydney very early Friday and arrived in Morisset at 8am to join the caching group (5/P) meaning five puzzle solvers and we signed all logs with this simple sign in to save space in the many logs that we found over the W/E.
First on our list were the LMHS series followed by a few local caches and then we tackled the OZGeomuster and some more caches in the area over the next three days.
I would like to thank all the folk responsible for placing all the caches that we found because this will have to be a cut and paste operation owing to the number of finds.
With more good luck than anything else we only had one DNF for the W/e but we could see the red bison but it was beyond our capabilities to gain access to the log.
I have say a huge thanks to the committee for the smooth running of the weekend.
We encountered some of the local wild life a huge black snake about seven foot long and a smaller brown. They are out there so be careful.
I also helped to keep the local Leech population to survive with a donation of my blood. Did not feel a thing and this is not the first time I have helped them out but that was in another state. Gosh they make a mess of your clothes before the blood stops dribbling out.
Finding our way in was the hardest part and then the actual hide.
This was my fifth Mega and looking forward to the next one later this year in Victoria.

Oldmorty and I had different ideas on where to approach GZ from. We looked from the side of one oval, then decided an approach from the other oval might be easier. Bit of a slippery slope to start with ending in a comfortable walk through the bush. Nice to meet Bushfire and have a great chat. TFTC 1st Byattunga

Last one on the way back to camp.
Definitely need long pants and boots for this one! While it ended up being just off a track... we hadn't discovered that track until a previous finder showed us the cache. Possibly density of trees, giving us false location, or coords were way off.

Down from Qld for the Mega and out picking up a few local caches. Strolled across the field to a likely spot to go bush and worked my way to GZ. A bit of back and forth before spotting the sucker. The stroll out was more adventurous as I followed a trail in the general direction of the car. I'm always saddened by the way people trash such beautiful areas of bushland. Its GeoMuster time around the Lake Mac. Been planning to attend this one for a while and was happy to see it get Mega status. Very enjoyable weekend away with FurfacesLL #1 and catching up with so many different cachers.
2 days down and we have collected a heap of finds already. After finishing the LMHS series with Roostaman this morning, we had some lunch and then headed off to find some more caches.
The mozzies were getting on our nerves so we were trying to decide what we wanted to do. So we went back to the Showgrounds to chat with Roostaman and Mrs Roosta, to our surprise, we were just in time to enjoy the fireworks. We then went and did a small multi and spotted we hadnt grabbed this one so went for the find here also. We found a suitable track however again the mozzies were insane. Another one crossed off the list. Time for some sleep.
Thanks for the cache hide GeoIan its been a fab weekend!
