I want to leave it for a year or so and if no-one else has put a cache there then I will enable it again. Unfortunately children have become aware of the caches position. I have removed the cache.
Seems that local mini muggles have sussed out the hiding place. Will remove cache for this summer and replace once muggles have left the island.
Today stortigirls (well me and one geoteen hostage) went on an Island hopping adventure with RhoBoCacher. We enjoyed the ferries, the lovely weather, discovering the Islands, and of course embarrassing the geoteen. Cache was found in bits and reassembled- RhoBoCacher has contacted the CO. Tftc and showing us this pretty place stickerless lady
Out with Stortigirls and one geoteen and our plan was to go Island hopping and after this second one we stopped for lunch at a bakery/fish and chip shop/bank/book shop. Lunch was great and the lady serving us was very kind and gave great service. TFTC
Not sure how big this one is but 3 of us searched for sometime without lucky. Perhaps very cleverly camouflaged so overlooked. Will try again alone when I next get a chance but a bit concerned may have been destroyed.
Had a look and found it this morning. Recent storms had left it rather too well hidden so I refreshed the log, gave it a new logbook and hid it snugly back in its hiding place which is no longer too well hidden. Sorry if the recent storms meant it sent you Going Nuts
Doing Census work so I have a car on the island today. Although I live on the next island I haven't been right to the end of Macleay before. Muggle city today; on deck looking at the sea (and me), fishing on the rocks, sitting in the car park. Hopefully it won't take me years to get back here. Tftc
The first time we came for a look it was high tide.....decided be best to come back at low tide. Ls1patrol soon had cache in hand although contents were soaked through. Log was too wet to sign, we put new clip seal bags inside and put a new temp log inside (the old log is still there for CO)
Gorgeous spot, but nerve racking being so close to houses but luck was on our side today no body home.
We enjoyed the view while here.
TFTC.

Good out here on the low tide. Move slowly, keep eyes and ears open, lots to enjoy. Thanks!
We were minding our son's jetski and decided to give it a run. We'd enjoyed doing the island caches a few years ago so we were pleased to see that a couple more have popped up. The tide was pretty low but there weren't too many rocks about and we were able to beach the ski safely and head over to GZ. Fortunately the nearby houses appeared empty so we could search unobserved. It wasn't long before we came up with the goods. Everything is still nice and dry. On the way back down the beach we walked through armies of crabs scurrying away from us as fast as they could. TFTC.
Beautiful location by the bay. Couldn't have picked a more perfect day for a little caching. Nice to pick up another state of my homeland & to introduce more of the locals to a wonderful activity.

Not feeling very well, still, but I was going a bit stir crazy after a few weeks cooped up at home, so I convinced Fangsoki to take me to the Bay Islands for a little wander. (well, ok, he doesn't take much convincing). Never been here, so worth the look. The sun was out, the wind was down, the sea air beckoned ... so off we went and caught an early ferry to Island number #2, from Karragarra to Macleay.
After a bite to eat and another coffee we determined a course of action to travel some 7kms or so to the other end of this not-so-tiny island. That's a long walk. So we caught a taxi. Or I should say, THE taxi - there's only the one. The Taxi driver lady is now clued in on where the caches are so feel free to partake her friendly services ... it'll be $50, but she'll probably wait for you. We aren't the first, she had tales to tell of people traveling from Melbourne and further afield "just to get these geocaches". As you do.
At this spot, the second cache on this taxi journey, we had a slightly longer walk, and glad we were of it being not a high tide. Cache quickly found, although a bit wet, soggy and rusty. Popped a fresh piece of paper in, signed, but suspect it might get wet too over time. Might recommend a small sistema perhaps in this sort of spot? Either way, cache found OK and we were back to the taxi before she could wonder where we disappeared to.
Back to the Ferry for the next island.
Thanks for placing this cache, stickerless lady.

Pprime and I had procured a taxi and a driver that was kind enough to wait while we found the couple of caches on Macleay Island.
We parked up and made our way to GZ. I was a little concerned about the proximity to nearby houses. Thankfully Pprime spotted something and we soon had the cache in hand.
As previously reported, mother nature has not been kind to this cache. It is rusting.. and very wet inside. The log is not usable anymore. Pprime and I signed another big of paper and put in the cache. Alas - I don't think that will stay dry either. A nice view of the water indeed.
We darted back to our taxi to head to head back to the ferry.

Found it - this cache definitely needs some maintenance. Tin rusted and slimy in bag! Beautiful spot though!
Okay, note 1 - warm sunny days during holidays make sandy spots busy. According to gps, muggle family set up for some fun in the sun right in front of cache. Will make another attempt on a not so lovely day.
teamdfl and I are tripping around the islands today, making use of the Redland Bay ferry service. Very pleased they let us take our bikes on board!
It is a long way from the ferry to the caches on this island!!!! I'm only a newbie bike rider, and my legs were tired when I got back to the wharf!!! GZ here was a little awkward in bike shoes but the cache was a quick find. TFTC, stickerless lady.

Out and about with IolantheK on another freaky Friday. A nice cruisey day. A great day out with the geocycles and the ferries.
We had planned to do this a while ago, but the weather that day was terrible. The forecast was not good for today either, but at least it would be warm even if it did rain.
This was quite a pleasant ride this morning. We stopped along the way at a nice cafe for some coffee and cake.
We arrived at GZ just as a boat was being pulled out of the water. That left GZ nice and clear for us. A quick search soon found the cache.

No wave from the balcony. Had a good ride out. Caching eye really in now. Saw cache quickly noticed something which looked arranged
Found together with Flagmarshall39. This Island is SO beautiful, can't wait for a return visit, tftc
A fun find on a beautiful Sunday morning, and a happy wave from the balcony lady.
Just checked it and it is still there snuggled in just where it should be. No water damage at all.
Spent 30 mins looking good in the right area. Dnf and have to catch ferry will check again sometime.
We were staying on Macleay for an after Christmas family gathering, I didn't check the geo map until 1 hour before our barge was due. With the cash being under a Km away the kids and I borrowed some push bikes and were off.
We looked around for a bit and when I noticed a friendly wave from the nearby balcony I knew we were in the right spot. Retrieved by the geokid and placed back after a short chat with stickerless lady. Time to return the bikes jump in the car and make the barge with a few minutes to spare.

As the owner I just did a quick check and it's still here safe and sound and waiting for another cacher to come to this lovely island and find it. Hopefully this holidays, so I have a chance of seeing you and waving from my balcony!!
Maybe not the FTF but the first to post a log....
Nice location to take a ride to.

A new cache out on the islands was enough reason to head out on the bay again for a beautiful day. Nyssaflutterby and I planned to catch the first ferry across with pushbikes and clean up the map over the four islands. This was the first target for the day and quite the warm up to begin with.
In the early hours of the day the ferry ride over was fantastic, calm and quick and soon we were in the saddle, pedaling up the first hill and onwards along the main drag of the island. Each of these islands seems to be quaint and somewhat removed from the mainland in their own way. I never realised how massive Macleay is until two folk who rarely mount a deadly treadly decide to ride the length of it, but we had a bunch of water each and all the time in the world to take it easy and take in being away from home for a day.
Eventually, we took the last turn and mercifully, we were almost at GZ. I fell off and rested the legs on a nearby, ornately carved wooden seat. It doesn't sound it, but was strangely comfortable. A drink and bite for morning tea with the background of views across the clear waters to Peel Island weren't hard to take. When a dog-walking muggle left the area we swooped in for the cache.
I don't really understand why on an island of so much green area, this one is in what feels like, almost, someone's backyard. There was a chance of being watched, but I think the early start was on our side. Fearing it may have already been washed away, we looked about and I found it soon after, in quite the exposed position - hopefully it lasts longer than I'd expect in just such a position. I'd suggest it is a tad more than a Terrain 1.5, but just my opinion. We added our names to the first line of the blank logbook and Nyssa did a bit of a jig as she tends to do on these occasions. All done and dusted, it was time to saddle up once more and head off for the next one. TFTC stickerless lady
