The Wade walkway caught my eye yesterday to go for a nice walk. Also I was also heading for any unsolved mysteries on the way. This one fell into the latter group. I thought I had looked for this one before but on approaching the GZ that proved wrong.Cheers for the cache, Uncle Sam.

08-Jun-24
Matagouri wanted to find a mystery cache today, and since this proved to be a super quick solve, we figured we'd head here before finding somewhere to park up for the night. There were a number of muggles around, but spotting the cache turned out to be just as quick as solving the puzzle, so it was a super quick grab, and we were on our way again. Thanks for setting this up

07-Jun-24
A weekend in Auckland with rattll. I've seen several examples of this type of puzzle, so soon sorted. At GZ, some stealth required, but a quick find. All good. Signed, and returned as found. Tftc!

22-Feb-24
A nice right before your eyes so to speak, puzzle I was on Young child pick up today. So the opportunity arose for the find and sign thanks for the puzzle

06-Jan-24
Finally, a cache in East Auckland that actually seems to have been maintained and isn't hidden in mosquito infested leaf litter! TFTC.

07-Oct-23
I can't remember when I solved this, but it was probably some time earlier this year. Today in the absolutely pouring down rain I decided we were close enough to call around and look for it. Daddypig parked about 14m from the cache, which wasn't where I was expecting it to be, but as I found one with a very similar although much stronger camo last week, I didn't have any trouble finding this one. There is a very soggy bit of log inside it, and another damp log and a ritr log. The little plastic bag holding them is ripped, so it could do with replacing so they don't blow away when the cache is picked up.

22-Sep-23
I had solved this cache in anticipation of visiting this area. School had just got out, so we were hesitant when we saw where this was hidden. I need not have worried, though, as the hide was spotted and retrieved very quickly. We moved away to sign. The log was wet, so we replaced it with waterproof log paper. Thanks for the puzzle and placement.

22-May-23
Lol, this puzzle is crackup. Always pays to check out a puzzle, even if I have a longstanding avoidance of them! Ground is a bit boggy, but luckily I wore some sturdy shoes to work today. Nice camo, I like these sorts of hides. Log is very wet. Ngā mihi, TFTC

Solved the puzzle a few months back. Nice to be able to do this one without any nudges. A nice park and grab. Good job it isnt a school day. Saw a small boy nearby training his new kitten. It was super cute.

27-Apr-22
I love these types of caches so I saw this one immediately. Sadly though, the log was practically mush. I tried to sign it, but not sure if it will be visible. I have taken a photo of the cache and log if necessary to prove I made the find. Thanks!

07-Apr-22
This has been on my solved list for quite a while - I don't know exactly for how long (since it was before I started noting the solved date), but it was probably in June 2021 since I was visiting a friend nearby and solved a few mysteries in the area just in case. Today was the first time I have been back in Pakuranga since then, so it was nice to get this off the solved list with a quick easy find at GZ, with merlot58 and supernannny. The log is soaked and I was able to scratch my name on it but it is badly in need of a dry replacement. Thanks though for placing it and for the puzzle!

20-Dec-21
I came out here to find this mystery cache because it was on my list of puzzle caches that I have solved so decided to find it and soon enough it was like a park and grab, just searched around like up high and down low and had found it in a dash.

At last we have an easing on covid restrictions! So I trotted off to go caching. Today I had my brother with me who lives with me and he was bored as staying at home, so he reckoned he might as well be bored as while I go caching. Fair enough I said, so he came along for the ride. But he never joined me in the walks I had to do.

No problem with this little puzzle, and it was a nice driveby, can't ask more than that. After this cache it was the last for the day, we saw a woman walking down the road with a takeaway coffee, so realised a bakery couldn't be too far away, and up the road we went. I had the biggest and nicest bacon and egg pie that I have had for a long time, quite comfy after that and we drove home.

13-Sep-21
This is our type of puzzle - one we could actually solve very easily!! Took a bubble walk to the final and made the QEF. SL TFTC A little soggy underfoot though, especially after taking the very long way round!!

11-Apr-21
With the sun shining it was too nice an afternoon to not come out and try and find some caches.

Found this one nice and quickly.

Quick grab. Now to find the other 5 in the series!

#19508. Last cache of the day en route back to Howick. A quick find, then back into the traffic on Pakuranga Rd. TFTC.

11-Mar-21
StreetWalkerNZ and I volunteered to drop our son off at a friend's place in Parnell, so took the opportunity to find a cache or two in the area and en route back to base.
Traffic building up now but about we looked for this cache which has been solved for many years. I managed to walk past the cache, but SW (who had the height advantage) spotted it straight away. Good to get a smile after the last cache looked for was a Sad. TFTC.

21-Feb-21
Having done the solve for this one some time ago I happen to be passing so thought I would grab. No problem with doing that. Thank you for the placement. code noted.

27-Nov-20
I solved this awhile back, finally passed by to grab it today.

Cache is all good and in surprisingly dry condition!

Thanks for the puzzle and cache!

quickly found, T4TC

With rebel98 and little blackbird Big Grin

Solved whilst nearby, and thought it would be rude not to come and collect, and I always love finding this kind of hide.

Cache all good, log dry, happy to find, took note of the code, but not sure if/when will be able to find the rest.

Thanks for the puzzle and the hide Uncle Sam Wink

18-Jul-20
Always love finding these. Thanks uncle sam foe the hide. With rustynz and little blackbird

Solved this mystery quite a while ago, not even sure when and how. Today I came to make the find and spotted immediately. Forgot to look for the code though... Tftc

10-Oct-19
I'm down from the Bay of Islands geocaching with a friend for the week. I was keen to do a round trip of the suburbs out this way collecting the odd puzzle and a trad or two to add to my XaXe's Auckland suburb challenge. I wasn't sure if I'd solved this or not. It was in my solved puzzle list but in c:geo they usually show the original co-ords when I flick over to the way point screen. This one didn't but we thought we were going past so we'd give it a quick try. I was relieved when it was a quick and easy find. Thanks for the puzzle Smile

27-Jun-18
After an early school drop off for EIR -0T I spotted this cache that looked manageable with the short time frame.....parking within meters of GZ , located the cache, signed in, then on my way home.

TFTC.

28-Apr-18
I'm up in Auckland for one of my regular visits, and with having this week off work I am looking to break my longest streak for finds as well as push through and gain my 500th Cache whilst I'm here.

Today is day 9 of my current streak. The weather this week has been great so far, until today. Strong winds and rain meant I wasn't sure I'd get a chance to go out today, but the rain held off this arvo long enough for me to have a go at some of the local ones I hadn't tried before. I was just hoping I wouldn't have to deal with too many downed trees or it being boggy underfoot.

I had solved this one a few weeks ago, and was just waiting for when I would be in this area to have a search for the cache. I'm not sure why I struggle to find your caches, but have probably found less than half of those attempted, but this would have to be one of the simpler caches of yours to actually find at GZ, as there was really only 1 thing it could be. The container is in good condition, as is the logbook, so it was a quick sign and then everything was put back exactly as found. However, as others have mentioned, there is no 3 digit code, so there is no help here towards solving the final puzzle GC4RC1M.

Thank you for placing this cache for others such as me to find.

27-Mar-18
Easy find once looking in the right place!

However... all that was contained in the cache was the log with (now) three names on it and the attachment device in a bag. Nothing with 3 numbers. There is a number sticker that came with the cache but thats considerably longer than 3 digits. Please could CO check to see if something is missing or if I need to return with glasses... thanks!!

3 of us are out today with our Guide leader (SethRaven) finishing our Geocaching badge for guides. She had shown us this one before we left and now we had to load in the co-ordinates and navigate to the GZ. We were a bit stumped at first and then on a second look we decided that must be "it". We soon had the container in hand and we signed it and put it back. We liked this one! Thank you for the hide. Smile

10-Dec-17
This was s really good hide. It took us a while to realise it was there.

29-Jul-17
This had us stumped! Finally found it. Lucky my husband is 6'2 haha

20-May-17
We knew we were heading out here today so set about solving a few puzzles. MrsJag50 could not quite understand the hint so solicited the help of MrJag50 who quickly identified the solve. So while out doing some caches with Merlot58 and Aiden29 captured this one. Last catcher had replaced out of reach so readjusted the final position so not impossible to retrieve.

20-May-17
Driving past the location with Jag50 and Merlot58 as we were completing the nearby Uncle Sam takes a stroll multi. Mrs Jag50 leapt out of the car in the rain to sign the log, but then when I realised where the cache was, I knew she would need a little height advantage, so I raced out to help. Even I still needed to leap up to retrieve.

06-May-17
Inspired by a Tufty challenge that was within our caching capabilities, myself, SethRaven and 5 boys set out for the day. This was stop number one, just as well there were others with me as I wouldn't have been able to quite get to this one. Yay for the first smilie of the day. Log and bag wet, log still writable but not sure for how much longer. TFTP

Came out this way today with Fencarrows as I had shared a Tufty challenge with them and this was out first stop for the day. Between us there were 5 boys and this one was a little out of reach for us . . . . . lucky boy number two was on hand to help us out. Thanks for the little puzzle.

These caches are cool. Obvious to those in the know, but hidden to those who have no idea. Quickly found and signed. TFTC

Out for a spot of caching on a beautiful sunny day. You just have to take advantage of such days with the onset of winter looming in the not so distant future. It was decided to have ago at the UncleSamNZ series and this was third on our hit list.

Mr Kiwi had solved this puzzle a long long time ago and was finally glad to get this one off the 'Unfound Solved Puzzle Caches' list. We were busy collecting information for the another part of the UncleSamNZ series when we stopped across the road from GZ for this cache. Well, since we were here, we might as well collect this cache and be another step closer to completing this series.

So across the road and off we go to find the cache. About 50m down the road and Mr. Kiwi (who was leading the way) notices that they are heading away from the cache instead of towards it. Drat. All in sundry turn around and head back in the direction we came from. Once we got close to GZ our geo-senses told us that what we were looking for was hiding in plain view, and in deed it was. The cache was recovered and the formalities completed before replacing the cache where it was found and heading off home as time constraints were against us.

We solved this one a long time ago but never had a good reason to come and collect it. Today we were doing the multi by this CO which meant we were spending time on Gossamer Drive so decided to make a bit of a day of it by collecting a few caches in the area. Some good ones too.

Got to GZ and having found about three of this type of hide this weekend we were attuned to what to expect and Mrs Tuolei made the find. Thanks for the doable puzzle and nice hide.

08-Jan-17
Figured this out ages ago and finally got the time to come out and grab it whilst waiting for new car to be ready

13-Dec-16
Managed to grab 10 minutes in between minding my lovely grandchildren to pop out and collect this one.
Thanks

A nice straightforward find once I got to GZ. TFTC

31-Oct-16
I've had this on my solved puzzle list for months but have never had the opportunity to swing by and pick it up. I was out in the area today so decided to turn some of my solved puzzles into smiley faces. As it was starting to rain I decided to head home, but made the slight detour to get this one. No one around today, and I spotted the cache as I was getting out of the car so a nice quick find before I got too wet Smile

28-Oct-16
Ooooh ! A mystery I could Solve instantly !!!!!
Things are definitely looking up today ! Cache all good !
Thanks Uncle Sam ! Woo hoo !

Solved this one a while ago but have only had the chance tonight to pick it up. Cache is in really good shape. TFTC.

We were a bit perplexed by this one for a moment and then the coordinates became clear. Found while out and about on a semi sunny Saturday afternoon. Thanks Uncle Sam.

16-May-16
I was looking at my map and filtering on solved puzzles today when I spotted this one, solved, and close-ish to work. How long has that been sitting there?!? No idea when I solved it! I have no recollection of even seeing it before!!! I re-solved it quickly to confirm my answer and then took a slightly scenic route home tonight. Spotted from a long way off (my second of these in two days) and made the grab between muggles on the path. Signed and replaced in another gap then on home! Thanks for the bonus puzzle solve cache!!!

20-Apr-16
Loved this cache. Exactly where it should be and in top condition. Thanks Sam.

25-Mar-16
Been meaning to pick this one up for a while now , so it was a good opportunity to do so with relatively quiet Easter traffic .

25-Mar-16
Had solved this quickly, after the first thing I tried worked. Then I came out to the beach for the day with Pazzabella and the geodogs, so stopped by here on the way home. Luckily there was nobody at all in the park - the only thing we had to watch for were the cars going by continuously. Pazzabella managed to retrieve the cache without drawing to much attention to herself (which is something of a feat at the best of times!) tftc:)

17-Mar-16
Nice quick solve and nice quick find. Now for a nice slow drive/stroll down Gossammer to find all the clues for the Multi. TFTC

23-Jan-16
On this hot and sunny Saturday, yorkshirekiwi83 and I headed out to East Auckland to target some of the caches out there. Had solved this one ages ago and happened to be driving by it today - a nice quick find at GZ. TFTC!

Yay solved the puzzle... I really seem to have difficulties with them, but once I was nudged in the right direction this was a quick solve. Then off to the coordinates to grab the cache which was easily spotted as I've found a few of these... although I've just realised that I forgot to write down the code so will have to go back to it again, doh! TFTC!

This has to be one of the best ones I've ever found. I love it!

23-Sep-15
I could have got this one yesterday as I was working on the stroll. TFTC.

13-Sep-15
After a nice lunch in Whitford, decided to head over the hill and into the Pakuranga areas for a spot of caching. As they say, " you have to make finds while the sun shines" or something like that anyway Wink

Having had this cache in my solved puzzles pile for a while, we decided to head to GZ to grab the final and as luck would have it we spied the cache as soon as we got out of the car - always like the "hidden in plain sight" caches! Signed log and onwards to the next cache! TFTC!

17-Jul-15
This was quite a quick find when you have seen a few before.

14-Jul-15
Needed a cache that started with J, U or L for the July spelling cache in Christchurch, so this one helped with the task nicely! Cool Nice to have met the cache only an hour or so at his event! TFTC UncleSamNZ, #7987

09-Jul-15
Solved this puzzle a couple of weeks ago, and since I was passing the final today and had a bit of spare time, I thought I'd stop and find it. Parked up next to GZ and made my way towards it. Have to say, I drive down this street ALL the time, and had no idea that I could have been pretty much staring at a cache as I went! Made me laugh as I retrieved it. Unfortunately, the cache had come away from where it was placed slightly and water had got in, so the log and ziplock bag were soaking wet. I replaced both and made sure the cache was placed back from where I retrieved it securely. Also messaged the CO to inform him.
Thanks for the cache and puzzle UncleSam. I enjoyed finding the coords!!! Very Happy

Out for the day picking up a few caches to help us complete the final stages of our current GIO licence.

Had solved this puzzle a while ago and was in the area so decided to grab the cache. A quick find, even with the nearby muggles partaking in their regular Saturday activity.

Trying to complete the calendar matrix this year so we are being forced to solve puzzles (our weakness!). Managed to solve 5 yesterday, this being one of them! Super quick find, co-ords were spot on and saw the cache as we approached! TFTC Smile

Every time Mrs beconaze tries to solve a puzzle cache she tries this technique to get the answer. Very happy that this time it worked. Nice quick find with Onawe while out having a puzzle day. A spider tried to get Mrs Beconaze, adding to the fun

Accidently stumbled on the answer to this puzzle, thank you garball for noticing. GZ had us with really only one option so some determined looking spotted this one, great hide, thanks for the cache UncleSamNZ, must now get onto the others.

13-Aug-14
Was sitting waiting for the chemist to get my sister's script ready and looked at some of the puzzle caches she (casaba3) had printed off to try and solve. Turns out she had already inadvertently solved this one so that decided the area we went caching in today. I was looking at the wrong level for this one but casaba3 managed the find fine while all I managed was to get wet and muddy feet walking through the grass around here. Never mind, we both signed the log, as did our father (merlot47) who had joined us on the hunt today. Thanks for the puzzle UncleSamNZ - now to find out where your other ones in the series are placed so we can do something with those numbers!

08-Jun-14
Returned this morning for a super quick find - well after all I had spotted it previously but just couldn't grab it. Nice and quiet in the area today.

Thanks for the puzzle and the hide.

31-May-14
Was sat working out a few other problems I was having a glanced up and thought that looks familiar, it cant be!! Well it wasnt the cache I was attempting but after working out which cache it was, puzzle was also solved for a satisfying claim.

29-May-14
Out and about collecting solved puzzles. Solved this a while back with no issues. Got to gz and spotted cache but timed my visit completely wrong because lots of cars started pulling up with people sitting in them just watching and waiting - it's almost schools out time.

Decided it would be better to return another time to sign the log.

23-Feb-14
Popped out for a little spot of caching this afternoon. Solved this puzzle without difficulty. In fact, I solved it twice as it is in both my current puzzle books. Anyway, nice quick find at GZ. Cheers for the puzzle cache!

Solved puzzle no problems. Out walking early so headed in this cache's direction. Nice easy find, but DOH, forgot to get the code... [I] ooops. Always passing this area so will get it another time. TFTPC.

23-Nov-13
Had been in the area earlier in the afternoon, and had to make the trek back for this one... Dad made the quick find and grab while the rest of the team waited in the car.
The kids sucked on lollypops while they waited, so it was a pretty quiet wait!
What a lovely day to be out caching - so sunny and hot! This one was the last in the series for us - we look forward to picking up the final!
