Fun and nice scenery TFTC.

24-Aug-24
Many things for the geocache that brings up one hundred points for the this month's current challenge the outer container is a little damaged and the inner containers quite sound but log is moist but all OK thanks for the hide and maintaining this cache sorry I didn't get to see it in its former state

17-May-24
Thanks cranksters (although I see you havent logged in since 2019)I was looking forward to discovering the source of all the favourite points. Alas, on re-reading as I approached, I realized that this cache simply isnt what it once was. Nice that it is double-containered though thats kept the recent water out!

29-Apr-24
Parked close to another cache but walked along to this one first as we were hoping for some kind of a trail. Unfortunately no such trail exists, only thousands of mosquitoes!Bush bashed through, past spiderwebs, stinging shrubs and oh-so-many mosquitoes before eventually making the find. Put on a lot of mozzie spray and topped up but it still wasn't enough.Signed quickly and headed off to the next one. Decided to avoid other nearby caches as there were too many mozzies today. Thanks for the cache!

07-Nov-23
Circled around GZ more than I expected and some trekking through the bush more I expected too, but I was so excited to grab this very special trackable (my very first physical one) which had been in the cache for a few months! Also dropped in cache a piece of swag that people might think they can write with but you cant. But enjoy it if you get it out of the cache. TFTC

19-Aug-23
Great walk ️

16-Aug-23
Spent ages poking about on the wrong side of the brook but found it with some subtle help from previous logs. A few splinters and a slide down the bank on my bum and I've succeeded Smile Fab area and loved listening to the cockatoos and kukaburrahs. Dropped off a trackeable too. TFTC and greetings from West Yorkshire!

GPS struggled a little, so I just searched everything nearby that the hint could apply to and didn’t take long! Such a pretty location. Was a good size so I left some Pokémon goodies Smile

26-Mar-23
Was a bigger trek into the wilderness than I anticipated! Tried at first to find a walking track but that took me way out of the way. Made my way to GZ with a stick in hand to prevent any spiderweb entanglements. Beautiful spot! Wish I could have made it here while the rope contraption was still working. TFTC. Left trackable - Solly the Sloth. Take care Solly and enjoy the rest of your journey!

15-Jun-22
Might Minions and myself, teamed up to get some caches in the area today. This was a bit of a bush bash, bit it is relatively clear in here at the moment. We were soon at GZ, and had cache in hand. TFTC.

21-Apr-22
With some more spare time, I headed off to the Blackbutt Reserve area to collect as many caches as possible before I was called home.

Clearly didnt take the correct way here as it was a long bush bash following the creek bed. But it did take ne thru some lovely area, including past the remains of someone's bush home. Found and signed at 2 pm, and clearly not in the tree tops any more.

Thanks for the cache Cranksters

After snaring a FTF at the new Team737 pi day cache, I headed cross-country to have a go at this one. The going wasn't too bad, as my route avoided any of the thick scrub, and once at GZ I soon spotted the enormous container. All nice and dry in spite of all the rain recently.

Many thanks for the hide.

06-Feb-22

12-Apr-20
Had the same issues as many who had been before. Our GPS was behaving like it had been on a long night on the turps, but after a few false starts we eventually found the hidden cache.

18-Jan-20
We came down the dry creek bed to find this one. Beautiful little spot except for the rubbish left behind by people. TFTC

Based on other logs I started looking about 20metres out but in the end the good sized cache was pretty well spot on the coordinates. Log signed, nearby human faeces avoided and on my way to coffee and work.

#11021 @1125
On a road trip from Canberra with ZQX to find Frying Pan and the caches on The Bucketts near Gloucester. Now on the return journey, we focused on a few high DT caches in and around Newcastle. This cache was initially elusive, as the GPS was dancing around, but we eventually spotted it. TFTC.

25-Apr-19
Found with TikvaNZ. Full log to follow.
My smartphone was not much help here. I think it was the tree cover coupled with the fact that I was searching in a valley. So TikvaNZ and I just tried every place that matched the hint, and eventually TNZ found the cache. I enjoyed the walk down through the trees, and the walk back up. It was a truly beautiful day - so warm for late April.
Thanks for the cache, cranksters!

16-Apr-19
That definitly been a mis adventure if i didn"tfind after just failing on rocky ravine.TFTC. .PS howdo i get out of here.

14-Apr-19
Found during our hike in the area, TFTC.

13-Apr-19
Found at 1:17 PM GAFF1 in the company of Grub Fred.
Didn't think that going to this cache was going to be a problem, but it turned out to be a bit of an ordeal for us [xx(]. Went straight past the cache location as the GPSr indicated that we had to go 19 metres further down. We then started to look in the usual locations but nothing. So back I go and what do you know - at a distance of 14 metres a great big cache!
Thanks cranksters

10-Feb-19
We set up camp and were well positioned so we could head out and do some caching. We teamed up with the Snakepiters and enjoyed finding this cache in a locality which is so scenic. Thanks to cranksters for hiding this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.

Wow Very Happy

07-Mar-18
What a great cache! No traffic noise - just the birds and trees - and a highly enjoyable stroll in the bush. I do like the Blackbutt Reserve. On the way back, Little Jimmy and I found what might have been part of the original cache hidden in the leaf litter. A long length of rope with a D-shackle at the end. It's now coiled up and draped over a fence post at the car park.

Thanks so much for the cache, cranksters, signed the log and rescued the two travellers from the mosquitoes. Might use this cache to drop trackables in the future. It'll be a favourite for me.

Whilst in the area getting a nearby puzzle cache, decided to have a look at this one too. It was a bit unclear on where to go as there isn't really a track, but it's not difficult bushbashing - good thing i wore long pants. Easy find once at gz. TFTC!!! #1170

12-Nov-17
Sunday morning caching in Newcastle before we return home to Sydney. Parked at Richley Reserve and headed into Blackbutt Reserve. A little challenging with only an iPad map of trails and no local knowledge. Nevertheless we found ourselves at GZ with a pretty clean bush bash. Nice hide. Must have been good when it was up in the tree. SL TFTC Cheers... Gaztek

After a bit of trudging thru the bushes was able to log a find.
TFTC.

22-Oct-17
Took me a little to find, then I did the sensible thing and checked the hint which made things nice and easy. Looked a little bare so thought I'd better leave something. TFTC

Parked my car at a familiar place, from many years ago, and headed into the bush. I had unintentionally got my mind stuck on one aspect of the cache name, and I was hunting around for a while before I realised the errors of my way.
Ohh, there it is; found @ 1645. Wet, missing the lid, and the previous scrap of cardboard was just MUSH! Didn't even try to use the pen there. Left a sheet of paper in another plastic (specimen) container and put that in a ziploc bag. Used a clothes peg to help hold it into the outer container.
Left: a pair of disposable scissors, and a Correct Site Marker - surgical marking pen.
Will add a bookmark for the Challenging Cache elective #4, of which this is #383, of the x 400 required.

Enjoyed walking around Blackbutt Reserve today and I was surprised this is here in the middle of Newcastle. We went bush bashing to get to this one and spotted something out of the norm and soon had cache in hand. Lid of camo is broken and water has gotten in, but log was still dry.

We enjoyed this one as it was something different so we give it a fav point.
