Found better things to do on Melbourne cup day and this cache was one of them but after much searching came up empty handed so it was a DOOM day disaster.
We just wanted to admire the Australian animals at the Blackbutt Reserve at Newcastle. But the GPS showed us some caches which were moved in the park. So we have connected both. The hiding places were partly a bit further away and so we had to look in the undergrowth for the containers. It was not only quite hot on this day, but also the mosquitoes were quite aggressive. [:(!] That's why we canceled the round.
Many thanks to the owner for the care of the containers of the Moorhelmi's from Germany

While I have been in the Blackbutt Reserve a few times, it was a little while ago. So after finding a challenging cache 'north' of here, I went walking on some trails, and some direct line bush walking to find the GZ. No muggles in sight. Soon found the cache, with good coordinates. Dry and intact. Found @ 1700

Found this about a week ago, just getting around to logging now.
It was a nice afternoon for a bushwalk except for the mozzies! Had to abandon the others we had planned on doing they were so bad!

Out for a walk around Blackbutt reserve today with Bad Jedi to pick up some of the caches in the area and this was one of them.
Followed the walking trail which started off in a bad state but was easy nearer the cache took a couple of minutes to locate the cache then after signing checked out the remains of the mine subsidence.
Thanks to cranksters for this cache and the chance to explore this wonderful part of Newcastle.

This one took longer than it should have. GPSrs had us about 6m out so we widened our search. Resident magpie flew down to investigate when we found the cache. Not afraid of humans at all! SL TNLN TFTC cranksters

We were searching for the wrong kind of crack for a while till we eventually saw it. Loved watching the cockatoos playing above us. Left a toy.

Mrs C wanted to go out caching today and this was one of the ones on our list.

Found on the way home from work. Thankfully the southerly had kicked in by time i had left so it wasn't as hot as it could have been like it was in the middle of the day. TFTC
I was expecting a lightning struck tree for some reason, yet in the end it was something else entirely. I found these coords to be better for me today: S32 55.888 E151 42.080.
Followed the track from a nearby cache. Then near the mining remains I headed bush. It wasnt hard and was pretty clear. Got to gz and read about the mining. I then found the cache in a lovely little bit of bush TFTC
Lol the things we do to maintain a streak. Day #29 of a targeted 100. Ran in the rain - thank goodness it was a quick find. At least the rain kept the mozzies at bay. Cache was completely in the open so I left it in place but added some light cover - cache still visible if you're looking for it though unlikely to be seen by muggles though. TNLN TFTC
Today we mad a tour through the blackbucket reservat.
The cache was easy to found.

Found something that looked like a crack of doom but nothing inside, 5yo not happy with our first GC adventure!
Struggling a bit but used the photo as a reference. And realised we had walked past it on the way down. Good spot.
