Out in the Gympie region while camping at the event at Widgee, we took the opportunity to have a look around and sample the local caches. After lunch we struck north before returning to the campsite. Not sure what was happening here, but the gps led me through the long grass and over into the lantana. After 10 minutes of searching in the midday heat, I was returning to the car when I noticed it over near the road, a full 35 metres from where the GPS was pointing. Not sure what's going on there, but that was a long way off.
Anyway signed the log, happy to finally get the smilie before heading off to find some more.
This cache is in good condition, and makes smilie #3085. Thanks **Sweet-Sour** for showing us this spot. Feel free to discover our trackable TGQNRV .

I'm afraid that the host sign has been removed along with the cache, no other option.
We were heading up to Hervey Bay for a few days to visit Mrs Just a Trifle's mother and sister but we couldn't resist making a quick stop to find a cache to break up the driving. The cache was located easily enough and with our name added to the log sheet we returned to the car and continued on our way.
Thank you Sweet-Sour for having placed the cache and maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

we're on holiday and traveling from Brisbane to Cairns (Cape Tribulation) and all places between. we try to find a cache every day. some are easy to find and some are more difficult. but with every cache we find we get a smile on our face and a smile on our map.

Love a TB find. Thanks for the cache - our 3rd in half an hour. Taking TB north - eventually.
TFTC, oh the grass is long and thick. I set off in jandals and bare legs. Found after a little looking , checking out for any snakes first ! Nice one. Left a trackable. I wonder if its going to head north or back south ?
2nd find for the day by geokid 3. Bit of an interfamily rivalry happening on today's adventure.
Second time we have attempted this before but was too much highway traffic before

When we pulled up at this one there was a workman in his ute parked there too and we wondered if we were going to be muggled out of the find. However, he didn't seem interested in what we were doing so we managed a quick find, sign and replace. TFTC
A q&e find once the GPS settled. Thank you for the welcome to this area which we have never visited before. TFTC, Sweet-Sour.
Another nice quick find today while caching around the area with Just-Lookin.
Never been to Gympie before.
SL Thanks for the fun!

Found at 14.19 hrs. Headed off on a day of geocaching around the Gunalda Area. I have seen many caches popup at different times and it looks like a nice area to explore. With smoko and lunch packed we were off. This was our 22nd for the day.
It has been a great day caching and exploring the area. Lots of outback roads to travel on with no traffic. Just the way I like it. Time to head home and maybe grad a couple we missed on the way down.

A big welcome sign it's a pity the council don't keep the weeds down. We went from here to have an enjoyable lunch with Sweet-Sour. It's nice to be able to meet fellow cachers and talk about our hides and finds. Easy find TFTC
On a road trip for a weekend of cache hunting. Another convenient one as we meander our way up the highway.

Nice quick find whilst in the area. I needed a stick to help in the retrieval, but got it eventually. Tftc
Day two of our crazy driving adventure to fill in the gaps needed in distances needed for the Well Travelled Cacher challenge cache. 1400kms in two days- only 500kms today!
A quick find. Tftc

After such an early start to Day 1 and ticking most off most of the wanted caches off our list we decided to have a bit of a slower start to Day 2 of our crazy adventure seeing us cover 1400km (just 500ks today) in total.

Today, klettercache and me were driving from Redcliffe to Hervey Bay. Reservation for the next hostel was already made in advance and therefore, we had enough time to find some caches along our way. We found, that weather is improving from day to day, coming from the South towards the North. Today, it was already getting hot for us and we were really glad that we have rented an air conditioned car.
This cache was placed along our way and we headed for it. It could easily be found. We have logged as "schabenheini & klettercache" and then we continued our long way to Hervey Bay.
Thanks to the owner for placing and maintaining this cache.

I have found this cache today together with my dad "schwabenheini". Thanks for hiding it.
Left Maryborough and headed south, picking up some caches along the way.
Plenty of parking here, then a short walk and a quick find.
Many thanks for placing this cache, Sweet-Sour, for us and others to find.

Arrived into Gympie today, have set up the caravan at Chatsworth Park. Now its time to find a few caches.
We had a wonderful drive around the country side. All the caches we found were well maintained, & good hints made for easy finds.

Fairy Mother and I were out on another of our Geo:adventures of Fairy Mothers territory, the bush, when we came across this cache.
As we were cruising along the highway this was another cache on our geo:route. We pulled over a little further up from GZ and walked closer. After a very quick look in the wrong place we just went ‘DAR’ and had the cache in hand.
Thanks for the cache Sweet-Sour. Cache is in good order.

Off on another Fun Geo Bush Adventure with my Geo Buddy, MinkosDes, along the Bruce highway today.
Up the highway we go with this cache clearly marked in our sites.
Made a swift find and left a TB, How Much Can A Koala Bear, and some trinkets.
Stopped to take pictures of the lovely entrance to Gympie too.
TFTC Sweet-Sour You tricked us with this one

Today is day 4 of our road trip and we have had some fun in Harvey Bay.
Of course on the way back to Brissy we stopped to grab a cache or two along the way.
A quick find here.

I moved into the area about four months ago and I've been promising myself that I would get back into Geocaching again. Anyway I noticed that this cache wasn't all that old so I thought I should probably drop in and log it on my way into Gympie this morning.
So much for thinking that it was going to be a nice easy one... when I got there I found that being vertically challenged was going to be a problem for me.
After a few minutes and thinking outside the box I had the cache in my hand and had soon logged my find @ 08:25.
Thanks for a nice clean cache Sweet-Sour. I hope to find a lot more of your caches in the near future.

I had noticed this cache on the way North and decided that I wouldn't attempt to cross the highway to get to the cache. On the way home I stopped and headed to the hiding spot and methodically searched until I located the cache.

Another huge day road-tripping with teamdfl today, and we're driving from Brisbane to Maryborough and beyond! Was more a farewell than welcome for us, as we have a long way further north to go. And a good thing I had the tall girl with me TFTC, Sweet-Sour.
this one was more of a goodbye Gympie as we headed north towards Maryborough. We found a safe spot to pull over on the opposite side of the road, and waited for a break in the traffic to dash across to GZ.
A nice quick find at this one thanks

We had headed north to attend the "Gympie Catchup For Newbies" even though we're not Newbie's anymore but some big name long term cachers came so it was a great day despite the extreme heat.
We stayed with relatives in Maryborough for a few days and had explored the area checking out a lot of local caches but unfortunately we now had to head home.
I chose some caches close to the highway on the southbound side that should be easy to access.
After doing "Welcome to Maryborough" the other day I was expecting something similar but no it is huge!!!!
I headed across to GZ and found the cache quickly, all was safe and sound.
Thanks Sweet-Sour TFTC SL TNLN

Out for a day of caching on one of the hottest days of the year didn't seem like a perfect idea. But when you mix that with an event, an area you haven't cached before, an air conditioned car and some good friends, it doesn't seem so bad.
I was out with Fangsoki, Prime and Sweet_bee as we were heading north collecting caches on the way to the Gympie event. We pulled up and hopped out of the cool car into the blistering heat and headed over to GZ. We got there and started looking in all of the common places. After a few moments Prime spotted the cache at a different level than we were looking at. The log was signed and the cache replaced as found. Thanks for the cache Sweet-Sour

Sweet_bee, Pprime, Net88, and I pulled up for this one next.
It's good to see Sweet-Sour dedicate a cache to some new folks in the area. Some encouragement for new cachers is what is needed
We all rocked toward GZ. I remember that must have been close to midday - because GZ provided ZERO shade Pprime found the cache after we all fossicked around. It was in good condition. TFTC Sweet-Sour

Out for a trip to Gympie today, with Fangsoki in command of the mighty Mondeo, Sweet_Bee and net88 in the company, and we picked up 'a couple' along the way. Passing through town we headed to our furthest north destination of the day and headed back again into town. We did indeed feel welcome to Gympie - although not considered newbies. True to form encouraging new players in the event today and here again at this cache - good job Sweet-Sour
Thanks for placing this cache, Sweet-Sour. Found in good condition.
