Given the previous logs, we thought as an off chance, maybe we should have a look. This has always been one of those "one day" caches which just never seemed to occur. For some reason i'm a bit chicken caching along a highway by myself; but today i had backup. Once on site it definitely looked as though the cache was gone. Looking at a different angle in long grass tucked away, what do i spy but a hint of red! Big Grin Given the current status of the cache (tbh i thought it had been archived not just disabled) we decided to take the cache with us to be returned to the CO for redistribution to a more suitable location. Thanks Rainforest Cookie. Looking forward to catching up soon. Smile

17-Nov-15
Out for the morning caching and on our way home we decided to have a look at this one. I was disappointed to see that it had been disabled, just didn't get around to finding it. When we arrived at GZ the sign and fence were on the ground. Had a bit of a wander around and low and behold, tucked away in the long grass, the red container. As my partner in crime stated in her log, we will return the container to the CO on her way back through here. TFTC?

02-Oct-15
We parked at the end of McKenzie St and walked towards GZ. GIven the clue and the previous logs we figured the cache would be on a sign. Unfortunately the large strawberry sign has been removed and is laying flat on the ground. There was no way we could look for the cache under the sign. JUst for good measure we got attacked by an angry magpie as well!!

seems it might be gone or shifted i will see what I can do

Just had to grab at least one cache this weekend to get the souvenir. I would have liked to have done a lot more but my muggle friends think I'm crazy. We had spent the weekend at Kurrajong Barn celebrating my birthday. We braved the really bad weather and arrived Friday night. No chance to cache on the way up that's for sure. We spent a lovely day on Saturday visiting the wineries and breweries but no chance to cache. Finally got this cache on the way home Sunday morning. I have already spent a couple of caching weekends up this way and intend to return soon to capture all the new green boxes and turn them into smilies. TFTC Rainforest Cookie

Found whilst attending Easter Mega at Stanthorpe Qld. Rain had stopped and the fog lifted to reveal a beautiful sunny day perfect for resuming my hunt for another cache in the area. Quite surprised that a cache could be placed so close to a narrow busy highway with no verge - I think it's only a matter of time before a serious accident occurs here. Police cruised by unamused and locals screamed obscenities as they drove post. SL.TFTC!

Time: 9:47 am
Date: Mon 6 Apr 2015
This was find number 5 of 25
Our last day in Stanthorpe was made of a fairly random selection, doing some in the morning along the upper reaches of Quart Pot Creek, then we returned to the Showgrounds to pack up our little van. After lunch we went out Nundubbermere Road to the falls, and cached our way back to town, getting a few last ones in the outskirts.
A quick park and an easy find, no red swaps made, sorry.
Thanks for placing this cache Rainforest Cookie

Looking for somewhere on the highway to turn around and go back for a puzzle cache, I pulled up here and saw some other cachers having some luck. I sat in the car and checked my phone, and yes, there is something here. Very serendipitous! One of the advantages of the Mega weekend. Left a red bead. Made the grab then drove back. Thanks Rainforest Cookie.

QLD Mega trip 2015 with Sol de Lune. On this almost 400km road trip we drove from Canberra to Stanthorpe caching in all the towns along the way with mostly great success. Around the Mega there were heaps of caches to be done including a few power trails. Despite the weather we got all of the planned caches done.

Day ten and the day of the actual Mega had arrived. There were a few events to get to but otherwise it was another day of caching on the local Stanthorpe area getting the final apple caches and anything else we had not yet done yet. Happily the weather had come good for the day. Thanks.

A great days caching and road trip at the Oz Mega 2015 with Taurus1955 and Misschief18. Lots of experiences and adventures we had lots of laughs along our travels some where I walked right to the cache and others where I needed to hunt around a bit. I have enjoyed the various challenges set by the CO's and the fact that I get to cache with friends and am outside in the great outdoors.

Thanks placing this cache .

Day 3 of our weekend at the Mega in Stanthorpe and we are out and about in the rain, yet again. Only ducks and cachers would be silly enough to be out in this. Anyway, onwards we went and found this cache quite quickly, a good hide. About with misschief18, B/dale Bandits and Bentley TB

I found this cache while visiting Australia from New Zealand and while staying in Stanthorpe for several days for the 2015 Mega Event. Today I joined forces with fellow kiwis Vamber and Yorkshirekiwi83 (signing our logs as "VYV" to save time and log space) for another day of caching around Stanthorpe. This was a nice quick find while driving around this morning. TFTC!

A great days caching on a road trip toward Oz Mega 2015 with Team Crackers and The Coffees. Many differing experiences, some where I walked right to the cache and others where I needed to hunt around a bit. As usual I have enjoyed the various challenges set by the CO's and the fact that I get to cache with friends and am outside in the great outdoors.

Many thanks Rainforest Cookie for placing this cache Cool.

10 in a day was my caching priority for the day. The day had begun before sunrise with a mega attendance heading south from Stanthorpe for a multi, a letterbox, a trad, and then back into town for a lab cache and a puzzle before breakfast. During the day there was a CITO, an Earthcache and an event plus a beautiful lunch at the TAFE college overlooking their vineyard and lake with the town beyond that. Then there was the flashmob event and that left about 2 hours to find the wherigo cache before heading down to pyramid road for dinner and a concert. Tough day but some-one has to do it.

And then there were a dozen or so other caches along the way and this was one of them. Enjoying the sunshine today.

Thanks for placing this cache Rainforest Cookie

Catching up on some late logs.

We were in Stanthorpe attending the Mega and grabbing some of the local caches on a very wet day.

Today we were traveling around with micaparamedic and The Coffees and had a great day finding quite a few very enjoyable cache hides and leaving
a favourite or two.
We want to thank the all cache owners for their effort and helping to make this visit such fun.

To save room on the smaller logs we signed as MMCC micaparamedic, maccamob. The Coffee's and Team Crackers.

We apologise for the generic log but with so many finds it was hard to keep track.

Vamber, myself and Vistra (signing as VYV) knew we had to make an early start today, we had a couple of goals, to get the 10 caches types in a day for Vamber, to finish the apple series, to attend some sessions at Mega GZ and my own private one was to get 35 caches to make the Mega itself my 7500th.

Interesting concept having all the contents one colour, quick find just following geotrails now. TFTC

After a rather eventful (read expensive, long and tiresome) trip down to the Mega, and spending yesterday and the morning trying to diagnose issues with the car, we decided we had better go find some caches.

Easy find, at 1215hrs. The local strawberry fields pickers were working hard at their craft when we found this cache.

Cheers

Out caching up a storm as with Alpenmilch80, signing the log as ACDC (Alpenmilch80, Cats&Dragons Caching Tour). What a great way to be spending a rainy day than caching with friends and seeing the countryside area here

Weather or not! We thought it was a good idea to list caching with Alansee, on the agenda for today. Finding caches was interspersed at regular intervals with stops for strawberries, cheese, wine and cider; which proved to be a great way to dodge a few heavy showers of rain as well as satisfy our hunger for caches.

Our thanks to Rainforest Cookie for bringing us here.

Visiting QLD from Central Coast NSW, and attending the Stanthorpe MEGA EVENT for about a week. Camping at the showground, caching days done mainly with SpikeyMikey, meeting up with members of CCG, HAVOC, and others from all over Australia.
Many thanks to all responsible for a smooth operating event, my first Mega, and first visit to Stanthorpe. Plenty of reasons for a near future visit Big Grin
Whilest it did rain and drizzle almost every day, I much preferred this over hot days, which is what I encounted on the Gold Coast return journey, as well as a repeated bout of coughing with the flu on the long drive home.

Great Puzzles, Power Trails, landscapes, History, Apples!, and company. Politeness and respect by all Big Grin
