Phone gps was a bit funny, so took a little longer than expected but Rumpuslabs came up with the goods after a few mins. Tftc!
Arrived just before the school kids and located cache. Then let them find it. Log signed. Kids replaced as they found it. Thanks for the cache. Satisfies a hidden date for me.
Today we also targeted longer caches. This also included multi-part virtual caches in the Botanical Garden. Three multis were successfully identified. Three lab caches with a bonus were also found. Another day with the beautiful garden and the old former university buildings. There was a lot of information and we learned a lot of interesting things. Many thanks to the owners and greetings from the Moorhelmi
It was nice to watch the little ducks diving and scooting around the river bottom near this bridge. The water is so lovely and clear we could easily see them foraging underwater. And finding your cache was a treat too. All good and dry. Thank you.
Lots of muggles around, but kept the eyes peeled and eventually spotted it - by which time coast was clear. Cheers!

After a long flight, Fritzi1219 and I arrived safely and immediately set off on our search before our round trip begins tomorrow. We found everything well!TFTC# 7442 / 17:53hGreetings from Team Lawinia11 from Germany, Lilienthal
First day of the new month and last day on South Island before flying over to Windy Wellington.Found with Gazania Rigens as per her log. As she says, we looked on the wrong (vehicle) side where our electronic devices were pointing, but found it hidden in the expected manner rapidly once we had moved over to the pedestrian side ??We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to these lovely gardens and so many super-impressive trees!Tftc
Our last day on South Island and we had a few hours spare before our flight to Wellington, so Zouave and I decided to explore the botanic gardens. It turned out to be a good decision as the gardens are beautiful and peaceful, no high speed cyclists or overexcited dogs. Our phones were pointing to the other side of the bridge here, but after reading some previous logs we relocated our search and spotted the cheeky hide. TFTC!
Down in Christchurch for the UFBA conference, and finding some caches in my spare time (on foot) Today with a couple hours spare before dinner my goal was: a trad (GC4RQVV West Bridge) a multi (GC710QD We will remember them) a puzzle/mystery (GC4V1NG Me and My Drum - solved and got coords but dnf) a Wherigo (GC7CMVF Needle in a Haystack) a virtual (GC9P7KX Built to Last) Got my urban steps up getting this cache! Cool hide. And thanks for sharing the story of your first cache find! Mihi ki a koe, billiehenny, mo te keteroki #478
Nice easy find after going around the very informative earthquake museum TFTC LinseyG
Taybee nz and I are checking out Hagley Park so we just had to visit this bridge and leave our calling card. CheersZara, Toby and I are heading to the Dunedin Mega with some extra days along the way. Caught up with TaybeeNZ on 22 Oct for a day caching around Christchurch. Then made my way down to Waimati for the night. Arrived in Dunedin Thursday afternoon. Beautiful day Friday to cache around Port Chalmers. Mega Day was cold, wet and miserable and Sunday not much better. Sophia arrived on Sunday for a few days. Teamed up with TaybeeNZ for next three days touring the Catlains Monday, Stewart Island Tuesday and Milford Wednesday, then started making my way home, arriving Friday Morning.
I'm ditching dad again and heading down south for the Mega in Dunedin. During this trip I managed to do many things and meet many people over the 2 weeks I was away. Thanks to all the cache owners and other cachers for making this trip enjoyable.Day 2 of the trip. After spending the night with mum we teamed up together for the day. First was UC IC as last time mum was there it was down. Then we spent a few hours around the botanical gardens doing adlabs and caches. After that we headed up to the cabbage trees and then a few other caches. A nice quick find. TFTC
We are four ladies from Sweden on visit in New Zealand. We log as TULP (tigertassen, ursus67, lnganfans and pidjas). After arriveing very, very late we had some hours sleep and the started geocaching. We walked quite some time and it was really hot. A big thank you to CO for the cache.
We are four ladies from Sweden who are visiting Australia and New Zeeland We are logged as TULP This was one of the caches we found Thanks from Sweden
Very nice weather and a nice cache. Four Swedish ladies walking around in The park. Logged as TULP.
Hlsningar frn Sverige, sdra Lappland Then it was time for a little adventure. The trip goes to Sydney in Australia and then on to Christchurch and Dunedin in New Zealand .On the trip are, Tigertassen, myself, ursus67, Lnganfans and Pidjas go, which means that we log under the common name "Tulp". The idea is that before we go home we should have visited a Megaevent, Geo Toroa. Greetings from Sweden, southern Lapland
A plan was hatched quite a while ago when the Dunedin Mega was announced to come over to the South Island again.I have only been to New Zealand twice before and I loved the South Island. So a chance to come back for a Mega was a no brainer for me.Everything was booked and I flew in on Saturday after a bit of a delay.Im staying at the old Offices Mess building at the old Airforce Base and it is a wonderful old building.Day 3 begins so lets go find a few more caches.I met Tiz13 at the airport as they happened to be on the same flight over and we organised a day out after I missed their message yesterday so the plan was to meet up at the event near the Botanical Gardens.I parked the Geoloancar at the Botanical Gardens and caught up with Snips and Co and Tiz13 for a fun day out with plenty of laughs and way to many steps along the way.We made our way to the west bridge and we started looking, I soon spotted something suspicious and the log was soon signed. We parted ways briefly as I had to relocate the Geoloancar as I think I out stayed my welcome where it was parked. Thanks billiehenny TFTC.
Out with Snips and co and Possums enjoying our little walk .Possums was straight onto this cache.
Thank you for the hint and the lovely views.8.1 World travelers adventure log.Out and about exploring the world with Nildran on this epic adventure! Thanks for adding to our memories and letting us explore your favorite spots all over the world! It continues to be a wild ride!TFTC SL If you find yourself at a local pub during trivia night, and the category is:'States shaped like a Mitten'here is some information that may help you win that round:Michigan trivia 8.19. Your Hand's Practically A Map Of Your New Home StateIts pretty easy to travel around Michigan when you think about it. The "thumb" is the east side, Detroit sits south, and the fingers up top are where Traverse City and Mackinac Island point UP. Makes sense, right? (The UP sort of looks like a bird trying to fly away).10. Rainfall Smells Like Rotten BeerSeriously, thats what itll remind you of. Some say it's the sign of one of Michigan's freakish thunderstorms. Others think it just smells. When the rain falls and the clouds get a little thicker, you'll smell it, too.11. How to Spot Your Car Under Eight Feet of SnowYou will develop your own internal radar for your car, guaranteed. When that lake effect snow piles on youll come to know which hill is actually your vehicle. It's kind of like Michigan magic.12. Venison Is the Best Meat You'll Ever TasteDeer season is big in Michigan, so don't be surprised if you start getting a hankering for good ol' fashioned venison. If youve never had it, youll get hooked fast.13. "Mackinac" and "Mackinaw Actually Sound the SameSome say "Mack-in-ack," and others say "Mack-in-awe." In reality the only "Mackinac" is the Mackinac Bridge, which many call the "Big Mac. Mackinac Island, Fort Mackinac, Mackinac Straits, and Mackinaw City, however, are all pronounced with an "awe" at the end. Arent you glad I told you?14. It'll Take Several Years To Learn To Play EuchreThis game might just be better than poker. At first you'll think you're on a different planet as you sit with Michiganders for a friendly game of Euchre, but give yourself a few years and you just might get the gist of at least a bit of this game.15. The S.S. Badger Isn't Just a Transport Across Lake MichiganIf you just want a quick ride across the lake, take Muskegon's Lake Express. If you want an adventure, that's what Ludington's S.S. Badger is for. There's a movie theater, a small casino, a bar, and satellite television.
Day #2 Christchurch - The Mega New Zealand ExperienceA chance for an overseas Mega was too good to pass up. Especially with half the state seeming to be attending also. I set about some last minute planning. Flights still available Accommodation found Mode of transport securedLooks like its time to cross the ditch. Ive never visited the South Island before so it is bound to be a fun filled trip.I arrived after dark last night so today is my first chance to see the sights.Easy to search here at night, however the GpS led me astray again. Based on the map, it is on the opposite side. After a bit of searching it soon showed up.A big thanks goes to billiehenny for taking the time to add West Bridge (Canterbury) to the geocaching map for us all to find and enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------Wow! The fun just never stops.Have you logged your will attend for Victoria's first ever Block Party? (Think Mega but even more special!)Join us on 22-23 March 2025 in Sunbury to celebrate 25 years of geocaching by logging your will attend at [**GCAP417**](https://coord.info/GCAP417).
Walking the garden waiting for daughter to give birth. Took a while but shiny hint helped. TFTC
Found really quickly once we went to the pedestrian side!Loved the ducks in the park with their beautiful little choc-honeycomb ducklings today. Thanks for bringing us here. OCW irondale today in the botanical gardens of Christchurch on a windy but fairly warm and sunny day. TFTC

Our very first Geocache success with my kids as a trial to get them out and about without grumbles.Missed it on the way into the gardens, but we found it on our way out, helped by the picture someone posted so we knew what we were looking for.
We are all the way down here in NZ to support our daughter at a sporting competition. And we are making the most of our time to check out the beautiful city of Christchurch and grab some Southern hemisphere caches! Love these kind of caches. QEF at GZ, TFTC
Lots of muggles but all looking at phones so an easy find and sign today. Nice hide. TFTC
This one took me ages to find. Eventually looked back at previous logs and saw the silver hint. Cache found roughly 6m from where my GPSr was saying it should be. No need to leave the bridge or go to the illegal upstream side.
Struggled with this, being on a tight time frame we decided to give this one a dnf today
A superb hide here, and thankfully reasonably quiet allowing for a nice quick find, TFTC

That took a while, had a good idea what I was looking for but could not spot it, determined not to make this my first could not find in New Zealand.. perseverance paid off tftc
Saturday Morning I was bored, so randomly booked a plane ticket to Christchurch. While in the area I decided to look for a few random caches. After not having much luck at night caching, I decided on Sunday to visit Hagley Park. This was the first cache near the car park, I spotted it quickly, but it took about 10 minutes of watching ducks to finally get a gap of no muggles, a quick retrieve and return.
Me and my partner found it on or second attempt, low light makes it quite difficult to spot.
Took a while but eventually spotted it, thanks for hints about the silver box! TFTC
335. Hey from Aus! The cutie cache is living its best life in a stunning place. The silver fern I put a replacement log in with the full one, paper from my sketch book! Also added an orange bead to symbolise autumn and a green flower bead because its fitting. Love it, thanks!
A stunning, if slightly cold day in Christchurch today, we were travelling between a wedding ceremony and reception, and this was a great stopping point along the way! I walked right past this, and Bapgirl called out to me letting me know of my error. Managed to sign and return discreetly. TFTC!
A quick find here, I followed the logs of others and soon had the cache in hand. It would have been really difficult to find without the hints. It's funny how you can know exactly what you're looking for and still have trouble finding it. Thanks for the hide.
Already found a few days ago, but forgotten to log.Thank you for a nice cache at such an expose d place.Greetings from a German and Singaporean!
(4 of 5 today - including 2 Adventure Labs)Greetings from over the ditch! Finally getting around to logging this...Day 4 of the Christchurch test, and the last as it turned out. At 5/116 I thought we were in too deep, but then Carey & Marsh righted the ship, with Captain Cummins steering the visitors home.Well, I'm pleasantly surprised - sorry to all the locals. I really don't know how we got out of that one. After the presentations we wended our way slowly back to our motel and I grabbed more caches in these spectacular parklands.###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###Before snaffling this one, I finished off the AL I started yesterday. Two locations were snaffled in quick time:*The Rose Garden*The Children's PlaygroundI also tried getting the required info for the Gardens Virtual, but alas could not find one of the locations.###END OF ADVENTURE LAB SECTION###Then off to here. Two of us searching but I was seeing nothing. I know what I'm looking for here. After far too long I spotted a tell. Finally! My muggle friend was surprised by how well it had blended in.Signed, replaced and away.SLTNLNTFTC

4-week family trip through NZ - Find #188!Nicely hidden cache, we had to search for a few minutes.TFTC!
We are currently on a eight week holiday which is mostly spent in New Zealand and Australia. However, the first three days were spent in Signapore as a nice break from an otherwise long flight. This yesterday morning we arrived in Christchurch and had a nice tour through the city. Today we are already leaving Christchurch. We are driving to Mount Cook. Since it is not a long drive we spent this morning in the beautiful botanic gardens. Such an amazing place. Since we have loverly weather as well it is great to be outdoors. We also go looking for this cache. Although we know what we are looking for thanks to the hints, it does take us a while to spot it. Luckily we where succesful in the end. Thank you very much for this cache.
We arrived in Christchurch yesterday for our two-month trip through New Zealand and Australia. Today we travel to Mount Cook. Before leaving Christchurch, we visited the Botanical Gardens. This cache was found during the beautiful walk.**billiehenny**, thanks for the cache.
Great idea! Had to rely on the hint and past comments to find, but love the location. Having the right lighting certainly makes it easier.
Found with Blue Jay on our second day of caching around Christchurch. Lovely day to ramble around the Botanic Gardens picking up some caches. TFTC. Toffee Man.
