I had a spare couple of hours this morning and Ive been eyeing off a loop here for a while. Today was the lucky day. TFTC
Out on a day off grabbing a few locals. T f t c. Haven't been here for ages. Nice to be brought back. Quick grab after we opened our eyes.
I'm in Brisbane for a couple of weeks to spend time with my Mum while she's still around and today, I visited Tinchi Tamba to complete the "Can You Find Month in Month" series and to do the AL here. This was a straightforward find while I was doing the AL ... bonus! Thanks for the smiley Landkg.
Over from NZ visiting and doing as much caching as other commitments allow. After attending a CITO on the northside this morning, decided to spend the rest of the day finding caches on my list that were in the area.My main targets were the challenge caches in Tinchi Tamba and I think I picked a good day, with a little bit of breeze, no mozzies and lots of kangaroos. Of course I was also going to look for any others that I would be passing as well.Once at GZ, spotted something of significance and the cache was soon in hand. It wasn't till I was replacing it, that I also noticed the second object of significance. Duhh..... A nice touch for a cricket follower. Gets a FP from me. TFTC
TripleTurmoil, elina_maree and I spent this afternoon caching at Tinchi Tamba. We found 16 challenge caches, 6 trads and completed the AdLab and bonus cache. It was perfect weather, the tracks were all fairly dry and there were no mozzies at all today, just heaps of kangaroos. After saying farewell to TT, EM and I continued around the Island Track to look for the last couple of caches before it got dark. My phone battery was dead so I was relying on EM here. She followed the gps to GZ and then begrudgingly looked in that spot and found it straight away. We cleaned out the rubbish that was inside the cache and added a new logsheet as the old one was getting pretty full. Thanks for another clever cache hide Landkg!
Found with Brissy Cat after doing Spell ____ in ____ series with her & TripleTurmoil. Looked in the correct spot - first place I tried - fluke!
Thought we found it, but found a tag instead. Soon after found the actual cache. Also found a giganto grub while on the search. Thanks for this!
Taking a leisurely walk around the Tinchi Tamba Wetlands and Deep Water Bend Reserve today and using the opportunity to find a cache or two.Quick find at the GZ. TFTC. TNLN. SL. TBs Prado Owl , Sanne and Scarface visited.Find # 1784.
### Tinchi Tamba Wetlands ###Today we went on a lovely tour of the Tinchi Tamba Wetlands. We found this box in beautiful natural surroundings. Thanks for the cache saysteam sissifalke
Circled the area a few times but then decided to change my GZ. Straight away spotted the clue I needed.
After a DNF on a previous cache search it was nice to find this one. I’m enjoying a mozzie-free walk around the track.. it’s not always like this haha. Thanks for the cache.
Cheers

I was out here yesterday getting some other caches, no mozzie anywhere. Today, the mozzies are out of control. Quick find.

Found quickly, removed ancient logs that had crumbled into dust and replaced the damaged plastic bag. Beautiful spot. TFTC
A nearby event this morning provided the impetus for the six of us to take a stroll along the boardwalk and path today. At this spot, we quickly figured out where the container must be hiding, and I happened to start looking in exactly the right spot – a small miracle! I used a TOTT to fish it out, only noticing afterwards that it was well tethered, which would’ve made it an easier retrieval but never mind. The cache was in good condition and the log was dry. The nearby information sign was quite interesting as you can see where the three different habitats meet in this area. TFTC, Landkg. =^.^=
After the event, KerriMG and I walked around this lovely area doing the AL finding a few caches along the way. Not long to find and all good here. Tftc
Found while attending a nearby event. A lovely walk on a not so hot day for a change. The mozzies were in attendance but not overly aggressive thankfully.
A quick find in good condition. TFTC

Nice and dry contents. I enjoyed the little point of difference on this one. TFTC, found with Sarah on a rainy Saturday.
Landkg I found your cache Personal Best 2 for 47 on 6/3/2023, 11:05 am. This is my find 4807 and find # 2 today. Found it with the help of the hint. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
Great area grabbed this one as it was on the route of the Adventure Lab, took a bit of finding but got there in the end. TFTC Landkg
Took to long to find, back to original thought and there it was.

A beautiful morning for caching in the area with not a mosquito in sight! It must just be the right day for it and I returned to the car with dry feet too. The cache was spotted from the right angle and I signed the log and replaced as found. Thanks Landkg for these caches.
Another keen spot from the geo-daughter! On a roll. Tftc
Log in good nick - signed and replaced.

Finally in the area doing maintenance on a cache I adopted nearby. Found after a brief search. Walked too far off the track before finding on the way back to the track. TFTC
I stopped by this one while doing the Tinchi Tamba Wetlands AdLab. I was expecting to wander further away from the path to find this one so I was surprised when I spotted it!

Found by Mary and David at 13:55. Today we drove from Maryborough to Ipswich, doing several Ad Labs along the way,and a couple of caches too. In the wetlands doing the Ad Labs, and noticed this cache close to one of the Lab locations. Couldn't ignore it. Shouldn't get washed away either. Our thanks to Landkg.
Not quite where the gps sent us, but not too far away. Still here, despite the floods. Waterproof paper is doing it’s job. Found by Shazzar66. TFTC
Another cache just as the rain starts.
Found this one nice and easy because of the tether.. thanks for the cache.

Spending the afternoon gathering caches in the Tinchi Tamba wetlands. After picking up most of the challenge caches I had a bit of time left to grab the trads and AL on the boardwalk loop.

Found fairly quickly thanks to great description and co-ords. Thanks for bringing us to this lovely place.
On our walk through these lovely wetlands, we stopped me GZ to wait for a couple of walkers to slowly disappear. Because all was quiet for awhile, the birdlife begin to appear and we saw a restless flycatcher and a monarch. Very beautiful and it would have been love me to sit here for a lot longer.
This hide he’s very clever. I’m not sure how it manages to stay dry but it certainly is able to stay put, given the very inconspicuous but well-attached system that has been used.
Thanks for another here Landkg

What better way to spend some quality time with my lovely partner than chasing down a few AdLabs and stomping through Tinchi Tamba Wetlands Reserve trying to scare off the monster kangaroos of which she is terrified!
We also managed a few random caches along the way.
Another quick find for Mrs VC.
Made our mark & replaced as found.

This evening, I headed north to Tinchi Tamba Wetlands Reserve. My aim was the completion of *Tinchi Tamba Wetlands* Adventure Lab, as well as checking out a few of the challenges that were scattered around. Much to my surprise, the cold and nippy night had scared off the mosquito hoardes, as I didn't see any. Subsequently, I had a rather nice walk around the area, spending an enjoyable three hours under torchlight before departing back home for a late dinner.
As I was walking this circuit whilst completing the Adventure Lab, I made a stop here, where I had a quick find of this geocache. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. I liked the attachment mechanism, so the container doesn't float away or go missing too easily. Thanks Landkg for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Out with Swearah and Jodsta83 and while doing the AL this one was grabbed. A quick find by Jodsta83. TFTC!
Out with jodsta83 & krcamber, we have as planned to get as many caches in here as we could in a limited Sunday timeframe. Krcamber spotted this one quickly, directing jodsta83 to the prize.

Out and about with swearah and krcamber chasing some smileys. We were all searching when I spotted a likely indicator of the hidings spot and bam I had a cache in hand. Tftc Landkg
Another quick find while completing the AL... it’s a nice overcast day, but that unfortunately doesn’t keep the flying vampires at bay... tftc...
What a gorgeous part of the world. I can't believe I've never been down here.
We came down this way to do the AL in the area and thought we would grab a few caches while here.
There is something so relaxing about walking along a board walk. This one was a quick and easy find. Log signed and returned to its hiding spot. TFTF

nice walk on an overcast day, mosquitoes still out in force though, seemingly immune to bug-spray. trees played havoc with co-ordinates but easy once you know where it is ...doh...
Hubby spotted this one quickly. The log sheet has almost disintegrated, so I put a fresh waterproof log in the container before returning it as found.
Out for some Covid exercise. Made a quick stop to grab this one on our way past. TFTC
Out with Team Tyrrell and GeoNayfee for a paddle this morning. We came in and said hey there’s a few over there we can do. So we quickly packed up the gear and headed over to do three caches around the boardwalk. As geonayfee had done these already he decided to come along for the walk. I think he is regretting it now, as the mozzies were eating everything, we counted approximately 45 mozzies on his back at one point, while team Tyrrell was waving a branch around like a madman to keep them at bay. We grabbed all 3 caches and saw the tether for the now disabled cache.
A series of caches and a nice walk around shame about the mozzies even with spray on, LOL.
Thanks for placing them here.

This was a lovely little ride around a delightful track and we are happy we stumbled upon the boardwalk and that it was low enough to pull our bicycles onto. While looking in the correct place, it was poking about with a stick that actually located the cache- alomst like fishing for a cache, ironically similar to the nearby people fishing for their dinner. Find #9, log#12 for the day.
Out with hatzofff, RoddyC and Millie the dog showing sderrick the sights(and mozzies) and sign some challenges.
He also got to see some pretty big roos so that was a bonus.

Today I was invited out by hatzofff and friends to go north to these wetlands to primarily log the month challenge caches.
The whole place was infested with Spiders, Mozzies and Kagaroos.
This was a nice easy one with the lowest risk of bites of all of today's finds. Tftc and UTV

With today being a clear fine day, I thought I’d head on down to Tinchi Tampa Reserve to clear out a few Trads and sign the logs on some of the challenge caches in the area as well.
I spent a good 4 hours wandering the trails and I walked about 12 km’s in total (I’ll feel that in the morning) It was my first time coming here, even though I’ve lived in the area for the past 5 years. This is why I enjoy caching so much, it takes you places you wouldn’t usually visit.
The scenery was stunning, especially around the water and the amount of Kangaroos I saw was amazing! They would just sit and watch me until I got a little too close, then they’d hop along.
All in all it was a great afternoon hunting caches.
After doing the previous cache I forgot my water bottle behind, so I had to run back, but I think I scared a young couple walking their dog. Got my bottle and wandered back to find this cache, but had to wait for them to move on to start my search

Part I of the Tinchi Tamba wetlands mystery tour On foot today but can see it may be quicker to come back with the bike and have another run at it Some of the trickier hides slowed me down. A quick find here and appreciate good coords and hints.

Took a walk on this Ekka holiday to find some caches. Bit of a scratch around for this, but found it in the end. TFTC Landkg
The second and last find for me today. Thankfully the GPS was spot on, then mozzies were too much to battle with any further caches and geodaughter wanted to get out as quick as she could! I will be back to finish the finds on this trail. TFTC
Took the bike here, lots of hungry mozzies around.
The hiding place brought a big smile to my face, leaving a FP as thanks for the happy moment.
Thank you for this cache

Wandering the boardwalk today,
the height of the tide had me worried about keeping me feet dry
But the caches are hidden in spots where I could reach 'em without a paddle
A good spot out here.
And a good time of year to be here ...
... no mozzies
