Perfect sunny day to be diving over this picturesque road.... requires full attention so trusty copilot was navigator on this stretch. Tftf
After completing an Adventure Lab along Queen Charlotte Drive, I looked for a place I could stop at to find a cache on my return to Picton. This was the one I chose and it was good to see there was plenty of safe parking available. The helpful hint meant I quickly had the cache in hand. Due to muggle activity, I wasn't able to search at my next intended stop on the way to the ferry so this ended up being the last cache find of my South Island holiday.
#15,540. Park, walk and grab along Queen Charlotte Drive in Whenuanui Bay in Marlborough. Good views. The GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Found after a short search. The cache, which was bigger than a film container, was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.*Thanks for the geocache placement, and for bringing us to this site, and **.T h a n k s. .f o r. .t h e. .c a c h e.**.M a u r u u r u. .k o e. .n u i. .a t u. .h o k i. .t e. .k e t e r o k i.*---### LET US HAVE A BLOCK PARTY!!! ###On **May 3rd, 2025**, we will be celebrating 25 years of geocaching in **Rotorua, New Zealand** with a special **Block Party** event. I was visiting a friend for the long weekend, and what a great opportunity to come and collect some of the caches on my list! Thank you to all the COs for the great entertainment!! Needed the hint, but found exactly as hinted. TFTC!!
Mr Ross had to hide while Mrs Ross pretended to take photos. Definitely looks suss pulled up in motorhome. Thanks for the cache
Day off work and Mrs Rubbishparty visiting for a few days so off to Queen Charlotte Drive for some caching. Stopped here for the view and nearly didnt bother to look for the cache because of previous DNF. A quick step down and there it was. Thanks for the smiley
Very windy road. Indications were that we were in the right place but no sign of cache in any places that were safe to search!

After years on our bucket list and three cancellations due to Covid, we are thrilled to finally be here. Following several cruises we flew from Sydney, Australia to Wellington, New Zealand to begin our next adventure. Picked up our rental vehicle and will be driving, exploring, hiking, and caching both islands for 3.5 weeks. Nice view and fun cache to retrieve. NW went after the container and soon was adding our ink to the log while RBG advised and snapped photos. Thanks for adding to our adventure today, Nukeworker and Racquetball Girl, Arkansas, USA
Quick find at GZ as we drive to Picton to catch our ferry to North Island to continue our journey northwards. TFTC
Someone has replaced container with a slightly larger version. Our child added a couple of treasures. Thanks.
Took a little bit of searching but after reading the clue again … another find for the day TFTC
From Picton to Nelson a very curved rod and no easy to stop with some care behind you.
Thank for this box.
Thank for this box.
With a slow car in front and a couple behind we couldn't immediately stop for this cache so pulled into a wider area down the road a bit and turned around to come back for the cache. Quickly found, log signed and replaced and we were off again. tftc'

Waiting for a ferry (hoping for a non existent ferry) so traveling around the Sounds road. Thanks for the placement
Almost the last ride on Bumblebee for the season so a lap round the Grove was it. I looked at a few before here but with the light drizzle from Blenheim to Picton it wasn't going to be pleasant. This was the first find. Easy as, thankfully for the new container.
Up for work, todays schedule was to drive Nelson to Blenheim, a blenheim township route, Picton to Havelock, then Renwick to St Arnaud . 573km for the day.
I was pretty slack with caching today, but this areas really nice, I'm definitely going to have to explore when I'm not working.
TFTC Megalodon, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 1 find(s) of 2 today, making this find #3010

Out for a ride on the link trail around Queen Charlotte sound after some heavy rain yesterday the trail is covered in sticks and leaves . Also some slips in places and trees across the track which we lifted our bikes over. Took mainly the road back to Picton but it had also some serious slips in places and was down to one lane.
Thanks for the cache in a cool spot.

Finally toby is back on the road. So time to go for a ride around Queen Charlotte and check out this cache. Yes its AWOL. So arranged a replacement to keep it rolling along. Cheers Beautiful day with amazing views from here today. Cheers
Can please someone place a new container and a logbook ?! Otherwise this cache with a fantastic view has to be closed.
We gave it a really good go and had a decent hunt for a bit but couldn't find anything.
Another beautiful view in this area. I remember Charlotte. Lovely girl. Thanks!
Down for the day from Auckland with boneybruce and Gorby and making our way across from nelson to Picton. Great view across the sound from this spot! TFTC!!!

We came by this cache today, me and FMZ. FMZ wanted to fly down from Auckland just for the day and pick up the last of the TM Geotour caches and I decided to tag along for the ride and the fun. We started in Nelson and drove to Picton, Blenheim then back to Nelson for the day, then flew back home.
We were looking for little spots to pull over and admire the view. This spot also had a cache attached to it so that's what we did. Got fotos of the view and I snuck down the bank a little and found the cache. Only it's not magnetic anymore but is still attached though with some fishing cord. Thanks for bringing us here today.

During our roadtrip through New Zealand I found this cache "Good old Charlotte" from Megalodon (maintained by taybee/No Fixed Aboder) on 5 maart 2020 14:38.
Replaced the soaked log and the cache is not hint proof anymore luckily we still have a resque line.
Groetjes/Greetings and TFTC from a Dutchman (a long way from home, but home is here the heart is, on the bus).

I started my great and unique round trip over the South Island in Christchurch.
My first major stopover was at Lake Tapeko - here I hiked up to Observation Mountain.
I then planned two days in Mount Cook NP with some unforgettable hikes. My big goal was the Mueller Hut - on a super strenuous hike I reached it.
I continued my journey over the lonely Danseys Pass to Dunedin.
Afterwards I drove along the Southern Scienic Route via Invercargill to Manapouri for some days. On this route I visited many sights and enjoyed the beautiful nature again and again.
I already booked a tour to the Doubtful Sound in advance - another highlight on my tour.
Afterwards I drove on to Queensown and Wanaka. From there I continued over the Haast Pass to the lonely Jackson Bay with storm and heavy rain. Afterwards I drove along the west coast always in pouring rain.
The rain stopped the whole west coast, but I had good rainwear with me. Only high up in Nelson the sun shone again.
Soon I reached the east coast again in Picton and Blenheim and the sun was shining again.
After a few days I travelled back to Christchurch via the beautiful town of Kaikoura.
At the end of my round trip I spent a few more days in Christchurch and its surroundings.
I visited many geological sites and found many caches on my round trip. In Rangiora I visited an event.
I travelled 3418 km and take home a lot of positive experiences.
Thanks to many beautiful caches I was also shown unique locations, historical sites and geological features.
I am overwhelmed by the fantastic and ever changing nature on the South Island of New Zealand - I will definitely come back.
Many thanks to all owners

Unsere Neuseelandrundreise Tag 12 - Mit der Fähre auf die Südinsel
# 68

Our New Zealand tour Day 12 - Whith the ferry to south island

On our journey along the coastal road, we stopped here briefly to enjoy the view, take photos, leave faster cars behind us and log this cache. The logbook is a wet lump, we have put a log slip with our stamp imprint in the can. A new logbook would be great!
58 finds until the 5000th find. Will we still be able to do it in New Zealand?
Since my english is very bad, I use internet translators. I hope my log is still understood.

Quick stop and find. Log soaked and hard to right on. String still good though. SL TFTC
The logbook is quite wet. So I guess it is time to activate the local maintenance partner to go and check up on this cache.
On the way to Picton our time was limited after we had spent most of the day in Nelson. Nonetheless we quickly stopped in this location. Found the logbook quite wet. Could use some maintenance. Thanks for hiding!
On our trip to Australia, New Zealand and Fiji we visited a lot of beautiful places and experienced a lot. We also found a lot of caches, also this one.
Thanks for showing and greetings from Austria.

Thanks for this cache - I was driving Nelson to Christchurch via Kaikoura & decided to make an early detour, to find the new GeoTour caches in Picton.
Queen Charlotte Drive probably isn't the quickest way but I hadn't been along here for
decades. Beautiful views. The log is damp.

We found this one with a little searching but wasn't too hard. The logbook is inside a canister. This geocache was a bit soggy as it was not water tight but still okay,.
I think good old Charlotte has done a runner. Thorough search with kiwitien did not reveal her whereabouts.
A quick find here, no problems with muggles although a couple turned up after I had done the deed. Nice views from here, as well as many other spots on the road. TFTC Taybee/No fixed aboder.
A nice evening, so I thought a drive along the Queen Charlotte was in order. I decided I would travel far enough to get my self-imposed daily quota of 5, then head back. Still a couple more trips left down this road in the future then, and I will save the walk ones until Jo can come along. Quick finds all of them, thanks to all COs.

Found easily however, there was just a log book laying on GL, but no container at all.

During our holiday in New Zealand we have visited both the North and the South Island. We saw a lot of highlights of this beautiful country, but there is so much more to see. So many highlights, so many caches! The geocaches showed us a lot of special and interesting places. Sometimes a quick find, sometimes we had to search longer. A few DNF's, but that doesn't matter. We loved New Zealand and we hope to come back some day!
Today we have found the cache "Good old Charlotte". We only found a part of the logbook, so we wrote our name on it.
Megalodon, thanks for creating and maintaining this cache!

At day 11 of our New Zeeland trip we drove along the north coast from Motueka to Picton. We started with some virtual caches but we couldn't reach the middle earth. The area was closed because of extreme high risk of fire. The small road from Havelock to Picton with all those awesome views was very impressive but also challenging for the driver. In Picton we had a nice walk through the city, saw some stingrays at the marina and had a wonderful dinner. Finally we had another DNF (multi). This seems to be our fate.

*Day 4 of our amazing trip*
While blumen-wiese and I took our freshly repaired campervan (see [https://coord.info/GLXHYQPZ](https://coord.info/GLXHYQPZ) for a more detailed account of the reasons for the repairs, if anyone is interested) along the scenic route from Picton to Havelock, we needed to stop several times to enjoy some amazing views. And find a few caches. Honestly, I can imagine worse things.
This cache was a quick and easy find, but we had to be a bit careful because of the elderly muggle couple who stopped there at the same time.
