Sorry to say I couldn't find this one but I didn't look too hard either as it was really busy. One dude stopped to ask if I was OK. I told him I was looking at the old track as I found it quite fascinating..... well 25mins later he was still chatting away, so I made my excuses and left
Been meaning to do this small section of rail trail so close to home. We rode from Kawakawa to Opua and back. We had a great lunch at the marina cafe in Opua before heading back. We picked up most of the caches except 2 which we will log as dnf. We rechecked these when heading back. Thanks for the geocache trail. Pretty sure we found where it should have been, under some limestone pebbles, but no cache...
Happy to turn this blue sad face on our map into a yellow smiley! Thanks for replacing this cache so we could find it!
Was so close, but moved away looking for another pole. Returned and found it. TFTC
Yay finally found this one. Turned out to be a nice day today so decided to take my brothers dog for a walk and get the final cache on the cycle trail.
Glad to turn this one into a smiley. Thanks for the cache

It was missing so have replaced with a smaller one. Coordinates out a bit too. No need to climb the bank! Will change coordinates.
We have tried this cache twice now, thoroughly searching around where the hint suggests both times! Couldn’t find it and are wondering whether it needs a maintenance check after lockdown!
RussellSchool's hints have been very exact up to now so I think this might be missing.
Day 2 of riding the TCCT, this time from Opua to Kaikohe. Made a quick find here of this nicely hidden cache. TFTC!
Heading north today to attend the event in Paihia and with an hour to spare, thought I should head along the cycle trail to get the two along here that are still greenies on the map. I arrived at the Taumarere Station to find a train there and 30 muggles learning about the local history.
No chance for that one on the way in, so carried on cycling along to this one. The inlet looked quite nice with the tide right in and the cache itself was a nice quick find with the good hint given. Signed the log and then replaced safe and secure as found, before turning around to head back to the station. TFTC

On A road trip with Dee+ME from Tauranga. Have been having a poke around here and there and been taken to some great places, many thanks to all you COs for your placements. Today we are cycling from Opua to Kaikohe and caching along the way. It’s an absolute stunner of a day. Cheers A fp. Restocked.
TFTC.... caching/biking day with Geodad Matini264. Cleverly hidden and named. Nice bit of history too
TFTC 1st time ing on this part of the track beautiful scenery with my daughter Jaimee83.
A nice walk out to this one, and great to see a good number of people out here today enjoying it. TFTC
Found on a lovely bike ride with the wee bucks and the Cannell kids. Happy Anniversary Kiwiterm

Great cycle track.
Cache was sitting out in the open, tucked it away where I thought it should be.

Heading towards the long bridge one the rain stopped as we cycle along....soon spotted the obvious spot as we got to GZ. Thanks for the cache.
#2181 The weather was a bit iffy this morning but I still wanted to pop out and stretch my legs and collect a few caches. Headed South to see if I could clear up this part of the trail. Walked in from the North bridge by the industrial estate and pottered along until I got to GZ. Interesting spot! Quickly found the cache and then headed back to the car. Was grateful for the big bottle of water I had in the car! Sure was muggy today! TFTC!
Having a day out with Mini Mob and testing out his new mountain bike. Beautiful sunny and hot day. Great cycle route but unfortunately the long bridge is closed at the moment so cannot go all the way. Took a while find this at coordinates were a bit off and Mini Mob fell over and hurt himself. Had to take a step back and take on overview of the location. Then it was a quick find a slurp on juice and on our way. TFTC
Took a while to find this one as we were sidetracked by the rails. Once we took a wider view, it was soon in hand, Found the clue the most useful. It was only 6m away from GZ by our GPS reckoning. Cache in good condition. TFTC.
Came to the gz and had a look around to spot n e thing out of the ordinary. There it was 10m from given coordinates. Lovely ride in from opua end. TFTC
I had my phone on talking mode so it called out how far we had to go at regular intervals. First time I've used this feature and it was great. Got off the bike and Kelly called out "got it". Wow that was easy It was 10m out from GZ though. Back to the tunnel to hunt again for that one. TFTC
This was much, much more of a search than I anticipated. I identified at least five great hiding places, but after turning enough nuts and bolts, something suspicious got my attention. Thanks for the cache!
This is my last day in the Bay of Islands for this trip. I'll be back as there are a few more caches to sign off.
I had a nice 3.3km walk each way to this cache. Very pleasant it was this morning. Loved the tunnel.
Cheers for the cache.

Couldn't resist getting sidetracked and carrying further along for this cache. Made my way carefully across the bridge which is technically closed while still being refurbished and was pleased to see the fill & compaction on the rest of the trail has been completed. The knee started complaining again by this stage & was wishing I had my bike! Saw several cycle-muggles out enjoying the beautiful day, but it was no problem to find & sign the cache. Thanks!

(969) Found while out on a Sunday jaunt to collect some caches in the Bay of Islands. TFTC
This cycleway/railway is an interesting project and will benefit Kawakawa and the region. Well done Russell School for installing the cache.
this one took us a moment or two to find as we were not on the "right" track;-)
found it eventually and took the TB to move to a new home

I was beside myself when it was found but kept on track to explore further. Thanks!
Whoo whoo a nice FTF here as I was sidetracked on these rails .out enjoying a beautiful summers afternoon walking this lovely track. Very scenic along the way. Started at the rugby grounds as wanted to really enjoy a wonder along here as it's at least 20 years since we took the stream train from Opua to Kawakawa. A must do . Fav point . Dropped off TB for the next happy wonder .
