In Castlemaine today with the geokids (aged 4 & 6) for the brunch event. We picked up a few other caches whilst here too and this was one of them. A quick find. Looks like it was a small field. Had to explain to kids how it works as they don't really understand baseball. Thanks for the cache

We didn't look for this one as a Muggle and his dogs were busy using the park. Will find this next time we visit Castlemaine. Cheers!

Had to wait for a muggle from nearby house to pass before heading in for the search! Came up with the goods pretty quickly, pity it wasnt still a baseball field, I love having a hit! TFTC

Backlogging... Headed to Castlemaine with becca85, neisha07, boo09 & WonderWoman W.W. to spend a lazy Sunday caching. This was our last for the day. Very much enjoyed it! TFTC

Found it on a day out caching with becca85 and our geokids. Nice easy little find. TFTC.

Power is off & excessive noise levels at home today due to Kitchen renos taking place. So when WonderWoman W.W mentioned she & the Wonder kids were heading out caching; neisha07, boo09 & myself were very happy to join!

Great day out with M1L5 thought we would show them around Castlemaine great little spot. Found this after looking around a bit wasn't at ground zero. Signed and placed back where we found tftc

Nature has not been kind here.
Over the years the lifting ground and erosion have appeared to make this flat baseball ground into a valley which would now hold no water at all.
And the appearance suggests that a bit of rain would be useful at the moment.
But I don't think there is any chance for it to pool in this park.

Nearly struck out, but in the end we took a walk to make our home run.

A quiet bit of park here, and it was hard to make out the baseball part of it. I again found a cache in the first place that I looked, only this time I found it the first time that I looked!

Staying in Bendigo for a week, to pick up a few caches in the area.
Decided on a change of scenery today, and headed to Castlemaine.
Found a variety of caches on our travels, and enjoyed the country side.

The Bug series done and I finished off the Bird trail. now I was heading to Castlemaine for a couple of grabs before heading home, the long way.

I guess if this area was still a baseball field they would have to get the Home run balls off the roofs of the near by houses.

I was surprised to see the old turn style at the corner of the fence.

Out for a lovely geo-day trip, with Eminor93, to Castlemaine, stopping every so often to find another Geocache! A very erratic but good day and an excellent variety of caches to choose from. We found 20 in the end... A fun but tiring day for an amateur like me... =)

Once were saw that 'tree-climbing required' we knew exactly where to look! TFTC

Found with AzzB during a fun-filled day of caching around the local Castlemaine area. After a short while of searching, we realised that we were looking too low. TFTC

A bit wet underfoot but we made our way to GZ easily. Looked around for a bit, then, ahah! There it is! Thanks for the cache. Sl TFTC

Found earlier today just logged when we returned to home tonight.

The Moose used to play baseball back in the day, but looks like he wouldn't get a hit here. A mini sporting precinct in its time, but was deserted today. Thanks for the cache and bringing us here.

Found this cache today in my attempt to get 50 caches in one day that were at least 1km apart. I managed to collect 36 caches and was really pleased with that effort but need to improve my game to achieve the magic #50. This one became the final cache for the day. It took a while to work out how to enter this park and then a while searching to find the cache but eventually this one was found.

Signed log today but didn't swap anything.

Found by Mary & David, in convoy with Team Crackers, at 0950. Still a bit chilly, but we have blue skies and weak sunshine, so we're fortunate. Loved the old turnstile, even though it doesn't seem to get any use these days. This must have been a very popular place years ago. We had the area to ourselves, so only a brief search needed. Our thanks to juanmatt.

Traveling with maccamob after staying the night in Bendigo caching our way toward the Canadian Creek Cito later today.
We pulled up and thought this must have been a great looking park in it’s heyday but seems to be lacking a little now.
This was possible good as with no muggles to worry about we were free to search and made a nice quick find in the second place we looked.

Out and about this morning, to capture some local caches before the Central Victorian Get Together VII Event @ 11am. Initially worked off the terain rating but once we picked up on the may require climbing attribute here it was a very quick find.

Did not take too long to find this cache - a few lovely big old trees - how many years old??

Easy find once we realized that one of the attributes was incorrect. Watched Datruk do a search and then I found it at ground level. Once we had signed the log we returned it to it's correct location???. Thanks for bringing us to this area and for the cache.

Sad to see this area being underused. Used to play here as a child

Old infrastructure like this, and the remains of the old netting suggest that this park was used as a sporting facility. It's so hard to imagine a baseball diamond here though, especially due to the size and the slope of the park.

Feathertop and I started early with a couple of caches in Gisborne, then a quick run up to Castlemaine.
Home in time to go to night shift (and before the day got too hot!)
How did they play baseball here? the park is far too sloped.
No sign of any players today (except a couple of birds in the tree overhead), so it was a quick find.

Rob reckons the park was too sloped. Hard to believe the New York Yankees and Babe Ruth played here back in the late 1920's as part of their world tour but there you have it.
