Oh wow!!!!Enjoying two weeks on Norfolk Island always wanted to visit, now Im here! And theres caches of course! Beautiful place, thank you Norfokker for placing this game piece here, showcasing this lovely area and contributing to this great game for myself and others to enjoy. Happy trails!
Worked out coordinates, went there, but didn't find. Ran out time so had to leave. Tftc
Third time lucky punching in different variations but we got there in the end! A bit taller than our 6 foot self but only took a couple of circles before we found.
We went with the times interpretation first, but no cigar. We ended up figured it out eventually. Together with @CaitlinTW. Thank you for the cache
Found, eventually. As others have done, maths miscalculations had us checking likely, but incorrect locations. Something eventually twigged, and we tried something else. CheersBundy
Found it with goingplaces2 & ilook4geo while on a 7 day epic trip with 33 other caches exploring this beautiful Island. Thanks to the CO for the cache.
We spent a fun and productive week geocaching on Norfolk Island, as well as seeing the spectacular views. We also did several tours and other activities on offer, which highlighted different aspects of the island life and history. Thanks for this cache.
Found during a week of geocaching on Norfolk Island with GeoMates. It was a successful week and an adventurous one. Thanks go to Norfokker for placing this cache.
Found with Ris768 while travelling on Norfolk Island TFTCLog 3328Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache Norfokker
Found with WaywardWoman and oldmorty.Didn't fall for the trap in this puzzle as I have on previous occasions.Had two sets of coordinates before I left home and slotted one in. Of course it was the other.Quick park and grab. Thanks to CO for the puzzle and the cache.
# 7506- Out caching for the day with frazeydaze and oldmorty. I had worked out the correct coords yesterday, but with an angry cow standing right where we needed to be, decided to leave looking for another day. Today, old Morty had the height to retrieve it easily, and no cow! Thanks
????top spot! Bay views, surf, soft sand and smooth rocks to clamber over and giant logs to rest upon ?? Chookie great company as our Woof Patrol took alternate routes scaling the heights ??????Ta Woofers ??SLTNLNTFTC ??????????
We were on several wrong paths, but after PAF & Calypsos memory improving, we were in the right spot for a quick find. Thanks for this multi.
OCW frazeydaze and WaywardWoman. A quick park and reach to start the day's caching. TFTC.

Well funny thing, I'm not a good sleeper and when I end up wide awake in the middle of the night I put the telly on. During the months of preparation for this weeks adventure there was a travel thing about Norfolk Island and it showed this very location. I was able to count the Triffid trees and solve the puzzle.Only trouble was there were 2 different ways to interpret the calculation. It doesn't help having been a Maths teacher as I chose the more complicated way and our Woof Patrol went there first. No luck so it was PAF - lucky I'd bought that local Sim card. After a recalculation we were off to another location. Easy find once you're at the right spot!TFTC # 6035
Headed to the 100 acre wood area with ADI to head to Rocky Point. Crossed paths with Crash and Harveyt a few times in this great forest and then onto this one. The multi was soon sorted and the mint tin found by the taller ones in the group. We completed the signing duties and re hid, TFTC
#7602 NI Day #4Having rounded up all the caches around the Cascades area earlier in the morning, it was time to work our way up the west coast. Continued on after our visit to the 100 acre woods and met up with b@w and ADI. Circled the tree a few times before referencing the hint and then adding our names to the log.TFTC Norfokker
Found with MummyPenny this morning. Like others, we chose the wrong interpretation first, which led to a perfectly good sot, devoid of any caches. Got there in the end though. Thanks Norfokker.
Found the Triffids and found the cache. It wasn't at head high, so replaced it as it should. TFTC.
Nice Multi. Having an awesome time geocaching on NI with friends. My first organised Geotravel holiday. ?? TFTC Norfokker
Found with ItsDozzie, Ziggyau, Everest High, Tardis, Max Adventurer and Brewmaker. Got our calculations wrong to start with. Made an adjustment and quickly found the ache. Thanks for placing this cache Norfokker.
#14380 16:00The second day of Geo Adventure 2024 with a group of geocachers visiting Norfolk Island. Roaming around the island for a few days, we decided to tackle some caches in the South West first. Together with 4Rods, Ziggau, Everest High, Tardis, Max Adventurer and Brewmaker this cache was found. Initially we got our calculations wrong but once adjusted the cache was a quick find.TFTC Norfokker.
The stand of fig trees really are spectacular. This is a wonderful location. No problems finding GZ, but its no longer at head height. Quick find.
Day 5 of my Norfolk Island adventure. I can understand why people want to live here . Its a little bit of paradise. Wow so much history on the island, Im enjoying my wandering seeing the sites . Some logs signed as N2OThis is my 12111find.Thankyou Norfokker for placing and maintaining this cache
Really amazing trees...Realised that there are at least two ways to interpret the required calculations. Tried one way, and got a reasonable location for GZ, but did not find anything there. Then, tried an alternative calculation and got a new location, still within walking distance, and, there the cache was found.
12th find foe my 2023 NI adventure, thanks to the wonderful Portstevo for pointing out my error from the mainland . Certainly not head height and I'm pretty vertically challenges. Tftc!
Over with IolantheK from Brisbane celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary [^]Out for another day of caching up the west side of the island.Got the info at the posted Co-Ords and plotted, then replotted the finalIolantheK is good with the calcs [^]Nice easy find, cache in good condition [^]TFTC Norfokker
T-Tech and I are visiting Norfolk Island for our 40th anniversary. We arrived from Brisbane and are staying for 2 weeks at Endeavour Lodge, and plan to get some R&R, see all of the sites, learn the history, and gather every cache here so we can claim the Se Dun Challenge Today we had a leisurely start with a visit to the Show followed by a wander through town and a coffee at our favourite cafe. The plan for the rest of the day is to visit Bombora Beach, Crystal Pool, 100 Acre Wood, Headstone Point and St Barnabas Church, gathering caches along the way. Those are pretty impressive Moreton Bay figs! I did the number crunching a certain way which gave me a nice GZ, but we didn't get the find. I had another look and worked out where I had gone wrong, and at the right GZ we made a quick find. TFTC, Norfokker.
Found this morning on a walk through the lovely wood. Signed Dem CBR for the Canberra Group. Tftc

# 8930 Norfolk Day 2, myself, iPlod65, Joolay, barb2e and contesta had a fantastic day of caching and exploration. There are so many wonderful locations here on Norfolk.Amazing trees here. I misinterpreted the calculations at first, but a colleague soon put me right. Some logs signed collectively "Dem CBR".Thanks Norfokker for the Multi-cache
Find # 10429Day 2 in Norfolk, here for a week of caching fun with geofriends Joolay, barb2e, StrangeTrousers, and iPlod. Zoom zoom zooming around in Kermit (green not red) Logging as DEMCBR.Fantastic weather, warm and sunny after chilly temps when leaving home. This was a quick and easy find and here at The Day of the Triffids on Norfolk Island today. Thanks so much for the many caches Norfokker and of course for giving me a reason and incentive to get out here, and to experience this part of the world in a different light
What a amazing trees. They are so big.How exciting to be at Norfolk finally. This has been the plan for so long. After a stroll in the Hundred Acre Woods (yeah I know that's not exactly correct), Mrs. Gunnie and I made our way North so another couple of spots, so I monitored the SatNav for caches as we drove.
An icon popped up on the map, I pulled up and headed in for a hunt. I'd worked out the final coords a couple of days ago and when I arrived, the area was much sparser than I imagined. I wandered over to the only available GZ and circumnavigated the object, only to miss the cache. Hmm... [?] A check of the hint suggested I should be focused around 'here', but still no cache.
Another scan and aha, there you are. Not really aligned with the hint, but there nonetheless, in a neat hidey hole. I extracted the container, added my name to the log, tucked it back in place and headed off.
Cheers Norfokker.

On a scenic drive around NI geocaching style. What an amazing specimen of trees. Worked out the coordinates for GZ and found the cache after a walk in the nearby One hundred woods. It’s gotta be worth a favourite point - so here it is. TFTC
Some pretty cool triffids here. First set of calcs had us in a likely spot, but bzzt no cache, then I had another look and used an alternative method, and then an even more likely spot appeared, and a nice cache too. Thanks for showing us this.
Found after about three tries, this time using a different method of calculating. If this is head height it was hidden by someone vertically challenged, but logged and replaced as found. Tftc.
Spotted! And we had an unexpected view of a horse and cart trundling by as well. Thanks to previous finders for confirming which of the methods of calculation would work. Left a unicorn pencil and a bit of extra camouflage on the cache. TFTC
This one came complete with Huntsman eggs. Found after a lovely walk bird watching in the 100acre wood.
Out geocaching with Wazza9 this is a very impressive group of trees, got the answer, but thought that answer can't be correct. So reread description and got a different GZ, then off to find a hidden container, stamped log and replaced. Thanks to CO.
TFTC,
Day 6 on the Island and back into some walking to caches. Our first area is to walk the loop track within 100 Acres.
This was our first cache and we probably made a beginners mistake that others have made. After searching the wrong location for 5 minutes, I read the description again and the light bulb lit up.
A quick find made at GZ, visited trackables and added a favourite.

Second DNF on NI. I’m sure that did the arithmetic correctly and there was an excellent place to hide but no luck. I’d better go and have lunch.
On 15 October 2022 a new batch of prisoners were shipped out of Brisbane to spend 7 days incarcerated on Norfolk Island. It has now been 4 nights and and countless days into their sentence at Ocean Breeze Cottages.
Earlier visits to this area saw the prisoners confusing Xs - perhaps they had consumers too many XXXX the previous night.
It seems the triffiids would not help with escape plans. These trees are simply a reminder of another Penal Settlement due East of here.

TFTC Thank you for hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity. This longer than we expected. It didn’t held assuming X=multiplication. Second visit all was clear.
Did the maths easy, found cache quickly, however im short and it took me way to long to actually get my hands on the cache to sign but i never give up and got there in the end! TFTC
Time to head to Norfolk Island to celabrate our 70th birthdays. When we were here before we were not geocachers, this visit will be spent gathering geocaches and revisiting our favourite places. Our appologies for the generic logs it does not take away the enjoyment we have found in the fantastic places they have been placed and all the different styles of caches that we are enjoying,

What impressive trees! Did the calcs (took note of 737s tip of not doing maths), found a short walk away. Our last cache on NI , just to log the challenge now.

Found by iamapom at 12:44 on 25/4/2022. Thanks to Norfokker for the Multi-Cache. This is Iamapom’s find number 2481. Greetings from Melbourne Australia.
Found while heading over with the family to get some lunch over near Anson Bay, got quite a few caches and also BUCKETED down on with rain, despite the rain we still had an amazing time in this beautiful area.
Missed this one yesterday as we did the maths wrong and it was also pouring rain, upon putting our DNF log in, we got a message from endeavour3 pointing out our mistake. Returned today while in the area and quickly found the cache at the proper GZ...

With the Se Dun challenge in mind, we set off to clean up the west coast this morning, before a lunch at Anson Bay. The weather started off good, but soon the grey rolled in, then a few scattered showers, then some steady rain, so we ended up wet, but with 18 finds for the morning.
A DNF avenged is always sweet, boy, we were miles off yesterday. Remember kids - forget doing the sums, just sit those numbers side by side... TFTC!

We arrived and counted the (impressive) trees.... then it seems we did the maths, well mathematically.... hence no cache for us. We'll come back later in the week.....
Wow! Such magnificent trees!
Seems there’s two ways to interpret the sums to do so we calculated both. Both answers look feasible on the map so we checked the first… no luck here. Moved onto the second of our calculations and there was the cache. Beauty! All nice and dry. A bit higher than our head height but easily reached.
Thank you.

Today was our first full day on NI with the weather overcast and only a few short showers. Due to the number of caches found, will do a generic log. Thank you to the CO's for placing these caches in the respective location. These caches brought us to many great views of this beautiful islands. TFTC
Spending the day caching around Norfolk Island between a few showers. We covered quite a bit of the island and traveled along many of the minor roads.
Thanks to the COs who have placed hides on the island as well as Endeavour3 who has many caches, as well as maintaining the caches of others.

Found the correct tree, but no log. ? Washed deep into tree with the recent rains?
Required recalculation and revisit after an unsuccessful search. Success in the end. No wedging and no spiders.TFTC
Aquilus1 and myself were on a mission: Go to Norfolk Island and clear the place out in 48 hours! This we achieved as we arrived well prepared, having ground out the puzzles (some with assistance) so that we had coords for nearly all hides before leaving Australia.
Brain tickler test & vaccination certificates in hand, we were shocked on arrival that our Australian mobiles had no roaming coverage....NONE! But, thankfully it seems most accommodation not only comes with a car, but comes with a phone as well.
I swear we did at least 5 laps of the island, I knew my way around very well by the end. NI is such a beautiful place, I am coming back with the family in a month and I already know exactly where I will take them.
On our first day we hosted an event and thankfully the local legend cacher, endeavour3, graced us with his presence. Some sage advice on the trickiest of NI hides was gladly received
And, it has to be said......OMG THE HUMIDITY!!! Canberra has none at all, it was a major shock to the system!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We messed up the maths....twice. NO MULTIPLICATION REQUIRED!!!

Luckily these trees are great and worth revisiting a few times because we did, the calculations were not as expected but we finally got the advice we needed to make the find. The cache was firmly wedge and took a firm stick to remove... grown in a little.
Trip log: Norfolk Island... Not something we had been planning to do but with GreyHams noticing travel here was starting up again, a good deal on flights and that this would count as a new caching 'country' this was indeed a very tempting location to visit.
Puzzles were solved, our double vaccinations certificates ready to go. A last minute change in the entry requirements added our PCR tests... but we arrived.
We had a challenge to collect as many of the caches as we could in the 48 hours we would be on the Island... A caching trip, but one that guided us around into every hidden gem the Island had to offer. All its beauty, history, scenic and quirky... and moisture! Humidity that sucked the energy out of every pore as we sweated our way about, but it was awesome!
An event the first evening was fantastic to meet with endeavour3, a wealth of local knowledge and assistance... both caching and the local area. It was great to confirm details, amend as needed and with a few DNFs help us back on track.
An honourable mention to the cows, especially the one that licked all over the car, the feral chickens (but not the roosters that wake up far to early and noisily) and the very friendly waving people everywhere we went!
Thanks for your cache that helped guide us about, and can all the caches be found within 48 hours... I'm very pleased to say that yes we could!

These triffid like trees are amazing and we all stopped to take lots of pics before working out the final and heading off to make the find. We have a few of these trees in nz and they are always impressive to see. No problems with the find and cache replaced as found. Thanks
Love the trees, they made for plenty of photo ops. Avoided the neighboring spider! Tftc.
Having worked this out the other day it was time to go find. Just as well drawp was with me as I couldn’t reach it.
Loved this stand of Moreton Bay fig trees with their impressive root buttresses. We stopped to take a few photographs before moving on to find the cache. No problem with the find in the company of Team Welsh and mrandmrschosen. TFTC
We were impressed by these trees. Worked out the final. Found cache with spider pouch attached. Signed log, and then went down to Rocky Point.

With the 'hands-on' work done, it was time for a bit more touring before the paperworky stuff. This was first on our journey around this section and with the GZ calculated, it wasn't long before I was signing the log at 13:55.
And whaddaya know, I even got an FTF(itNLB).
TNLNSL, although our BYO pen geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks Norfokker.

Really enjoyed figuring this out and my super treasure hunting partner Aubs made the find. ????
Well we managed to make this harder than it should have been! Took us two attempts. Even though we had the calculations correct for some crazy reason the GPS was taking us to the completely wrong place. Decided we needed a strong coffee so visited the nearby restaurant and added a very nice date scone ??. Those trees are amazing. Thanks
This was a quick find today with correct coords. Of course we tried the other (wrong) method first and found a nice (wrong) GZ. TFTC. Loved the triffids.
I interpreted wrongly how to solve this, but Endeavour3 put me right (thank you), and I reworked the formula and soon had the final coordinates. I think I scared a bird from inside the tree. I didn’t see it, but I heard the panicked sound of wings. I loved the trees, so have a favourite point. TFTC Norfokker.
We happened upon these enormous trees on our first full day on the island and immediately recognise the cache name. The number of trees was easy enough and I thought..easy as! ??More fool me! I was checking with Endeavour3 as to my maths and when he stopped me midstream, ?? I knew my error! So simple in the long run.
After lunch we headed out again and soon the prize was in our hands. Signed tge log as Lloyd Crew as I was in tbe company of 1Muggle and Lloydyau. Tftc.

What fabulous specimens these trees are!! I did the counting, which wasn't too hard, but failed when it came to the maths. Unfortunately, my long gone high school algebra days came to the fore and the numbers I calculated took us to a feasible spot but no cache was found. Later in the day, I was talking to endeavour3 who put me straight. The maths is just that simple..... der!!!! Fair dinkum! I'm really starting to wonder about my caching abilities. I came back with the new set of coordinates and made the find. Thanks Norfokker and thanks to endeavour3. A nice multi, even if I did make it harder than it needed to be!
