One or more of the following has occurred:

No response from the cache owner.
No cache to find or log to sign.
It has been more than 28 days since the last owner note.

As a result I am archiving this cache to keep from continually showing up in search lists and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

4.23. Unarchiving a Geocache

The archiving of a geocache is intended to be a permanent status. That is why only community volunteer reviewers and Geocaching HQ staff have the capability to unarchive it. This is done only in rare circumstances and only if it meets the current Geocache Listing Guidelines.

If a geocache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance it will not be unarchived.

If you require more time please be sure to post a note (not an email) explaining the situation and how much more time you require.

Hi there Reviewer,

RE: The cache ""

I'm following up on my "Needs Maintenance" log which is now well over 90 days old.
There has been no action by the CO, who hasn't visited the site since November 2015.
The cache appears to have been abandoned and should be archived.

Hi there elliejye.

This is the 2nd of 2 caches we didn't find today. Twisted[:(!]

We spent quite some time here at around 11:07:00 AM, but we just couldn't locate your cache. GZ is a spot where a tree used to be. All that remains is sawdust and mulch.

Hi there elliejye,

RE: Your cache **"Valentine walking track"**

Could you please do a maintenance run to repair the cache, or perhaps archive it, as it appears the cache is missing. (See our DNF Log).

Great spot - third place I looked (thank goodness) but log is a bad way and needs work. TNLN TFTC

18-Sep-14
Reperio at 1300.

After heading out to Swansea for lunch with the family, it was such a nice day that we decided to stop by and grab this one on the way back home. Pulled up next to GZ, and it wasn't long before the cache was in hand. A nicely created little hide...although there is virtually no log to sign anymore...just a small scrap of paper no bigger than a thumbnail.

Gratias elliejye.

04-Sep-14

Parking right at GZ I circled cautiously and meticulously until the cache was spotted, not so hard after all Big Grin

My Ride through Greenpoint was awesome! Haven't shredded the trails in there for ages. Finally found the path up in the bushes after a minor MTB detour! Nearly landed in the drink!!

Anyways, upon arriving to GZ, I found the cache relatively quickly. Armed with mini-tweezers, I couldn't retrieve any paper or log...couldn't even see if any was in there!

I ripped off a piece of paper and put it in as my log. Loved the creativity of the hide despite the peculiar formatting of the description. Nicely done.

Thanks for this cache elliejye.

11-Mar-14
Could CO please check and replace log. Appreciate creative container!

11-Mar-14
Well hidden. Took a while to find. Loved the container but couldn't retrieve the log to sign (seems to be pushed right to the bottom of container. Have photo of container as proof.

Found at 2:40 PM GAFF1. The GPSr was pointing to the bollard, so I checked all over that for no return Sad
I eventually moved a bit and then luckily and to my relief found the cache in the first spot I looked. To my relief, because it started to rain and there were muggles about, so I didn't want to be there for too long. The log sheet was mush - so I replaced it with a slip of paper.
Thanks elliejye.

23-Feb-14
Paper was drenched and couldn't write on it Sad

20-Feb-14
Log sheet very wet after huge storm!! Needs replacing! TFTC

04-Feb-14
I had a look around while the GPS was starting, and found it before MrsFish even got out of the car. It was logged in the car with such an exposed GZ. Thanks for the hide, it's good to see someone putting a bit of extra work into a cache.

14-Jan-14
After a bit of a search had the cache in hand, unfortunately i couldn't sign it because i didn't have the required tools to extract the log. Good attempt at a homemade cache. Tftc

05-Jan-14
Had a 2nd birthday out this way to go to, so stopped in just before.
started walking down the track before I realised I'd gone past it.
Found reasonably quickly, signed log. Nice container.
Accidentally put the two elastic bands on the outside of the bag, instead of one on the log and one on the bag.
Thanks for making a great container!

0345 GAFF1 We were on our way to the other side of the lake and this one 'popped up' as we drove past, so stopped and had a look. With the updated coordinates, even tho the cache is well hidden it was soon found with two pairs of eyes, and hopefully no muggles wondering what we were doing.
Will add a book mark for the Night Caching elective
Bringing through the trackable shirts.

At last the co-ords for this cache have been corrected (or nearly) and the cache is able to be found.
Luckily, I was able to park the geomobile right next to the cache, and was able to use its bulk to hide my search from inquisitive muggles across the road.
Because of the open nature of this cache, I've added my own co-ords, so that future finders can also cover their searching. TNLNSL TFTC

***FTF*** Found it at last. Yay!
We noticed the coordinate adjustment and checked the map to get an idea of where GZ would be. Rolled up to find that the new coords were close enough to indicate where a cache may be hidden. It only took a few minutes to locate the prize although we had to pause for a moment while a tradie came by. Looks as though he had a job at the house next to GZ as the occupant arrived at the same time.
Regarding the container. A good try at fabricating a cache. The main drawback is that it is not waterproof and the log, being wet, came apart as we tried to extract it, using tweezers.
After muggles, moisture is possibly the biggest enemy of a geocache. Even if it doesn't get rained on, paper will absorb moisture from the air. To rectify the problem we replaced the log, with one more suited to the container, in a small plastic zip bag. This should be good for a while if finders are careful with their tweezers.
Cachers will need to use stealth here as GZ fairly open.
Thanks for the cache elliejye.

We spent a bit of time on this cache, not feeling comfortable around peoples property boundaries while being over watched by other house. A micro in the bush, especially without a hint are always caches that don't seem to progress and get good feedback. In my opinion this cache placement should of had more thought put into it as 20m away was a whole bush land, but instead you put right next to someones fence line. Perhaps you may need to find about 150 caches before placing you're own, just so you get the idea of a good placement by either finding that really good hide, or by being in the same situation as we were by not feeling comfortable in searching for the cache.

If you would like to learn more about Geocaching, feel free to come to GC4RR1K HAVOC Annual Christmas Party Event.

After returning from our morning cycle ride we found the updated coordinates for this one. We decided to have another look.
Arrived at new GZ and still came up empty handed. Spent about 15 minutes searching until the rain started so we pulled the plug and went home for lunch.

Saw this one published last night. Checked Google map and saw that coords had GZ in someones's backyard with bush reserve behind. We prefer not to cache at night so close to houses.
It was still unfound this morning 0600 so we thought either it was found last night and not logged or it hasn't been found. Either way we decided to have a shot at it.
Parked in Leichhardt street and walked down the track towards GZ. The GPS confirmed that the GZ coords are indeed in someones back yard, and not by a little bit. Had a search around the grass and scrub for any likely, or unlikely hides but no result.
As this is the CO's first hide perhaps the coords my need rechecking using waypoint averaging?
Anyway we'll wait and see if it is found before trying again.
