This section of the rail trail has been left unfound by me for way to long. It is just an area that I don't seem to visit very often and when I do it is main with a mission in mind. Today was not different, I was here on a mission. Last year on a trip to Queensland I signed a challenge cache requiring 444 D2.0/T2.0 caches. I have been slowly chipping a way at them and now I am only 3 caches away. This has brought me to this section of the rail trail. A few new caches have been published here and they happen to be D2.0/T2.0 and there is enough for me to complete the challenge finally. So today Neville_devil and I parked on Anderson road for an assault on the everything nearby. This one may not be a new one but it is a D2.0/T2.0 which makes it a very desirable one for today's mission but another one that Neville_devil already has.Thank you Flying Platypus for the hide
In town for a non-geocaching event, I took the opportunity to make a weekend of it, and find some caches in the area. Papi4506 & Geoturtle37 joined in with the fun. Despite the rather high winds, we got the e-scooters out to attempt a few caches along the rail trail. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, Flying Platypus ~~
Geoturtle37, OzHockeyChick and myself are staying on the peninsula tonight. OHC needed to be in Geelong last night so GT37 and I headed down this morning to join her for some caching. No worries locating this cache. Thanks for placing this cache for all to enjoy.
Travelling the rail trail with one vehicle. Park at a level crossing, walk in and do caches, then walk back to the car. Hey! By the time I've finished I'll have walked it there and back! Initially, I found I was going in circles, and had gotten down to that "where would I hide it?" stage. Then I found a previous log which turned the lights on. Repeat after me: "I must look properly the first time!" "I must look properly the first time!" "I must look properly the first time!" "I must look properly the first time!" TFTC!
*Happy January Bike Date Day #3*Out with SueHut for a date day. That was a cool one. Thanks heaps for the cache!
Out for a ride on our ebikes what a beautiful Spring day. We really enjoyed riding along the rail trail today we found a few caches and had some DNF's as well . I eventually ran out of battery on my phone so we will have to come for another ride and find the ones we missed TFTC
Well I did finally find one, thank goodness, it took me long enough!! Had to take several photos of the train track as people walked and cycled by, have lots of rape seed photos too, does look amazing in rhe sun with the dark clouds behind. Many thanks for the cache.
A nice quick find as I look to complete another section of the rail trail. Happy to sign a clean log. TFTC
Found on a Rail Trail return ride from Moolap to a cache 3.5km from Drysdale. This led to 38 caches over 36km or so, I’m very tired but it was well worth it. Took ages to find this one, after reading a lot of lots I had a better idea where to look and bam, got it. A train came past whilst I was in the area, very cool! TFTC!
Nice quick find for us today!

What a good hide! I laughed when I saw it. Great team work logging with Crank1 Lance51 and silence49
Came today to a bit more of the rial trail, I have started at Mannerim and walked up to the Andersons Rd crossing out of the 11 caches I have found 9 with 2 DNF lucky they were at either end of the track.
Been down here in Geelong for almost a week now visiting my daughter for the Christmas/New Year break, so as I do, I get up well before everyone else to take yet another chunk out of the Bellarine Rail trail series. An early morning ride on my poor under-utilised mtb seemed just the ticket, whereas previous attacks have been undertaken on foot.
Managed to pick up a few blood beasts here. So luckily I picked this up quickly!

Decided to do ‘just one more’ in this freezing weather! Fortunately this one didn’t elude us for too long, after making an incorrect assumption about the container!
Headed out on the Bellarine Rail Trail on our ebikes today, for Queenscliff. Found another one.TFTC
Had a chance to get out fo a cycle on this fine day and tick off a section of this series. Thanks for the cache and the challenge. At last, yes at last
Since the day we booked the air tickets for our current geocaching holiday to Australia we had been looking forward to hiking and geocaching the Bellarine Rail Trail. We finally arrived in the area last night and so this morning we parked up in Drysdale and hiked to Queenscliffe then took a taxi back to Drysdale at the end of the day (the following day we started in Geelong and hiked to Drysdale to complete the trail). We throughly enjoyed the hike in some truly lovely Australian weather and of course we also found many geocaches, and so many thanks to the COs for having provided us with the opportunity to have enjoyed yet another great day out geocaching! Excellent coordinates ensured a nice quick once at Ground Zero. We signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cache and greetings from Zimbabwe
Out on the deadly today to do as many of the C2Q series from Drysdale to Queenscliff before catching the train back, most were quick easy finds while a few took five minutes or more til they were found,

This was a very quick find as the container seemed quite exposed. We signed the log and replaced the container making it a little less visible. TFTC
This log is to tidy up a mess I made with GSAK . I forgot to apply the template so my finds were published with a nonsensical log.
Rather than try and edit all the logs I post this not with what the log should have been.
My apologies for the confusion caused.
A few days away with Freddo, e.gregory1 and The White Dog Gang.
Fun was had by all. Not too many dnfs
Most logs signed as FETT.
Thanks for all the caches.

Found whilst cycling the beautiful Geelong to Queenscliff bike trail with Freddo, Team Waldron and e.gregory1 - we've signed as F.E.T.T.
A hot day but great scenery and good co-ords made for an enjoyable ride

Cache was found in the last place we looked, which as usual was not the first place we looked.
Found on a short, post-Christmas sojourn to Victoria with Freddo, Team Waldron and thewhitedoggang that involved plenty of driving, cycling, walking and even some boating and wading.
The weather was on our side (albeit a little warm at times), which made for some great caching. There were plenty of varied finds, with some excellent and often tricky hides and and just a few DNFs. We signed most logbooks ‘F.E.T.T.’
Thanks Flying Platypus for the cache.

We are spending a few days on the Bellarine peninsular before the Christmas crowd arrives and today are riding the trail from Drysdale to Queescliffe and back so I have the opportunity to grab a few caches on the way and back. Thanks Flying Platypus for a string of caches along a lovely trail.
Our first visit to Victoria so we thought we'd head to the Bellarine rail track for a caching bonanza. Had a great day with 56 finds; quite a few dnfs as we rigidly applied Draper's rule which says "no ......... shilly-shallying!"
Used (hired) electric bikes, a first for us, and can only describe them as like cruising on a Harley; virtually no energy expended, and so easy to use.
Only downside was that it was a tad chilly. Only 16 degrees when we got back to the car whereas at home in sunny Serre Chevalier at 1400m today was 21 degrees!
Many thanks to all the local placers and apologies for the generic log, but time is precious and the Great Ocean road beckons.

Fairly quick find by BendSinister here which was good since the hour was a little late and as forecast the rain had begun.
It was a nice day to be out and about Geocaching.
Great area around here and a fun cache too.
Thanks for the hide.

I cycled from Queenscliff to Leopold on the Trail today, then caught the Heritage Train back from Drysdale at the end of the afternoon. Lots of other folk out enjoying the sunshine as well. A great way to see some of the countryside and find “one or two” caches along the way. A most enjoyable caching experience. Cheers and TFTC
An enjoyable morning for a walk, and the addiction sets in - only another 280 metres to the next one. Without the caching rewards I wouldn't walk so much. [:0] TFTC
Great day outside with our rented bikes. While staying in Geelong, Primile had the idea to do this trail. We had a lot of fun. Sorry for the similar logs. Many thanks to Flying Platypus and greetings from Austria
Found at 10:47 AM GAFF1 in the company of maccamob.
Well I was not doing to good in finding caches s I was going way over and I said to David - OK I'm going to find the next one. Well I didn't did I.

David and pprass had a day on the G2Q trail today with their eBikes. Found this cache at 1050. A short search, then we spotted the container peeking out of its camo. Our thanks to Flying Platypus.
Staying on after the Surf Coast Event we explored this area using geocaching as a guide. Today we tackled this series and enjoyed the variety of hides and the challenge of finding them. We enjoyed the walk along the Bellarine Rail Trail today finding some more of these G2Q series.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Yeah, it’s Mega Time, here in the area for The Surf Coast Event this coming weekend but I have a week off in the lead up and so there I a little to organise but mostly it caching.
Today MuggleWifeDoes and I have teamed up with gmj31891 and PamJ to ride the latter part of the Geelong to Queenscliff Rail Trail starting at Curlewis and finishing at Queenscliff. Time however got the better of us and we needed to skip a few at the end to finish before dark, these we will need to return for on another day along with those in the earlier stages.
It was a glorious spring day on the Bellarine Peninsula and the ride was mostly downhill and slow due to the fact that we were stopping every 200 meters (on average) to search for geocaches.
We stopped for lunch at the lake and Drysdale Station, what a beautiful view, no time for a wander or the caches around the lake, we just enjoyed the serenity and shade of that big pine tree.
Thanks to the entire group for their work on the rail trail caches in the area, it is a definite attraction to bring seekers to the challenge.
The cache finds were shared by all with individual cache senses activated by the variety of hides, always changing, always slightly different.

My fifth day of my geocaching holiday. Some of my chosen caching grounds ended up a bust, but I found other places to hunt.
I finally had a chance to use my bike. After finding some of this series yesterday, I found a good location in the middle to continue on with. Over all I only covered 10Km of the trail, of which I had to ride back to return to my car before it got too dark. On the way I caught up to another geocaching party who I joined for the last 3 caches.
Thanks for all the caches!

Out on the 2nd day for the bike ride with geojill_11 and 4bait, we started from drysdale and finished not far from queenscliff we got just over 60 for the day beating yesterdays record of 53 which makes just over 100 caches for the weekend, making crack the 500 cache mark thanks for all these caches (keeping the logs short and sweet... like me)

Found on a day walking the rail trail. I walked around 11km and found 40+ caches. It was the perfect day to do this. Great weather, peace and quiet and everyone I met along the way was happy and friendly. Tftc
Enjoyed a lovely day with CBJH1990 on our push bikes from Drysdale to Queenscliff. Was a long trip there stopping for caches along the way. 66 finds and 3 DNF's for the day. Thank you to the cache owners who thoughtfully placed them all! TFTC
Day 3 of our geoholiday in Victoria and today we are tackling the other half of this bike track, we started at G2Q Curlewis: End of the Line and finished at Queenscliff, we took our time riding the track taking in the sights, found the hides quite different to what we are use to back home and there are some really brilliant hides along here, the weather was great for us while we were here and each day was in the low 20s which made for great bike riding, a huge Thank you to all the COs that placed these caches for us to find. TFTC
Third time lucky with this one after observing two objects that could have easily passed for camoed containers. Tftc

Another beaurtiful day for a walk along the Geelong to Queenscliff rail trail with Mrs. caughtatwork. We started a little late in the afternoon and we didn't finish until later than desired, so heading home we ended up with pizza for dinner. This was probably the longest section we have complete with a 6.6km round trip for the 14 or so caches we found today.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks to everyone who has made this a memorable trail to come down and visit.

Catching up on logs from a week ago; and what a week it's been, travelling the Great Ocean Road. I absolutely love the safety of riding this trail and am thrilled to be back finishing the lower half of the trail after walking the top part last year. Although I enjoyed the overall variety of containers, the number of bisons hanging around on the lower part of series did drive me to distraction. I know such hides appeal to others and, regardless of my personal dislike for the hide, I am very grateful for the time taken by individuals to create this fantastic series. Thanks to you all. I hope I have correctly logged my 2 DNFs from the day on the correct caches and a K.B. should appear somewhere on the logs of the others.
