Taking offline due to significant flooding along the BLS trail. Once waters recede will check and perform maintenance as necessary, prior to reenabling.

No, did the sums three times and came up with the same answer each time, looked and looked and looked but just couldn’t find. Obviously too clever for us. Info was great.

23-Jun-22
Weather wet and cold again but we went cache hunting anyway. Another good wander round some familiar places in the old home town.

Finally on our way to Wangaratta for a few days caching with my very good caching mate from Bacchus Marsh 6Hinemoa2 and great caching friend from Adelaide and his mate the Blackadders.
Due to COVID lockdowns and other problems this trip has been postponed a number of times but we are finally going. Once in the area we put 3B6 or Bushfire in our logs to save space.
With so many caches found I have to use the cut and paste method as we found so many great caches from so many different cachers, so a big thank you to all those folk.

04-May-22
Out on a caching adventure of 4 days with bushfire, Brisal 5 and Blackadder. We stayed nearby at Goorambat and travelled around from there.
Been to Benalla many times but this was a new experience. Cache was spotted by the B's and I was happy to have a smiling face here.
Thanks for the fun Team BGF

Day 2 of a trip to Victoria and targeting around the Wangaratta area. The afternoon consisted of traveling from Kerang to Goorambat meeting up with Bushfire and 6hinemoa2 at our base camp.

A few hides were targeted where we could with time permitting as we had to arrive at our base by a certain time.

All caches were in good condition unless noted otherwise.

Another quickish find as the daylight was quickly fading.

Thank you for the cache Team BGF, found 4/05/2022, 5:36:05 PM

THE LATE TO THE WANGARAATA MEGA TOUR. [:o)]
We were booked for November 21. [^] Didn't Happen. Twisted
Booking transferred to February 22. Razz covid Twisted
Booking transferred to May 2022. Cool Yah - made it albeit a tad late. Cool

DAY 2: Kerang to Goorambat: Razz
Up reasonably early we decided to have a look around and ended up doing all the possible caches and started towards Goorambat. [^] Put in how long to see how much time we had for stopping at caches along the way...Twisted Bugger all. Oh well we did manage to stop for a few.
Once arrived at our digs we waited to be joined by Bushfire and 6Hinemoa2 to arrive.Razz Then we set of for Benalla for some supplies, grabbing a few caches as we went...as you do. [^] So save space in logs we signed BBB6 or 3B6 or similar.

We had some numbers and followed the GPS to a likely spot where I made a surprising quick find in the dark. Smile

Only one of the three goals from last year achieved. Twisted So once again I will trying to get the other two this year. [^] Should be easy as I only have to get two multi caches in July from the lockdown and couldn't get out. [:o)] The other was DNF's that came down from over 50 to the low teens before blowing out again but I really want to see only single a single digit this year. Cool

***Thanks Team BGF for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Big Grin

Love WP2, and it was quite accurate, even though it might have been a bit fatter than I would have liked . Thanks for the cache and the local knowledge Team BGF

16-Jan-22
We stopped here to grab a coffee on our way home from the MEGA event and decided to walk around the lower section of the lake while we sipped. This was our first stop and we ended up coming to GZ as our last point on the roundabout walk. TFTC Team BGF

16-Jan-22
Having a wonderful girls weekend away in honour of the nearby Mega event, spending time with Mummy Short Legs and Ms Manda Moo and making the most of the caches in the area. Found ourselves with some unlikely final numbers on this one but took a stab and were in luck. MSL put her hands on the goods and we were signed and away. Lovely spot to spend the morning. Another quick find in this steamy weather once we got to GZ.

e.Gregory1 and Freddo decided to travel to Wangaratta for Geocaching Victoria’s first 2022 Mega event. The attraction of GeoMaze icon was just too tempting. We packed the Land Cruiser for a bubble environment. There would be some public exposure but we would be keeping it minimal. Fortunately we did not bother with any warm clothes. Fortunately we packed some Bushmans with +20% DEET. There were caches to find and we found caches. We saw a lot of interesting places and met the occasional geocacher or two in the field.

I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count.

This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and a Samsung S8. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs...

Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.

Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke für den Cache. Gracias por el caché. Bedankt voor de cache. Kiitos kätköstä. Zikomo posungira. Terima kasih untuk cache. Hvala cache. Köszönöm a cache. Nga mihi mo te keteroki. Dankie vir die kas.

Found as I made my way from Adelaide to the Mega event at Wangaratta with Freddo.

We meandered our way across northern Victoria, camping along the river and generally avoiding contact with other people as far as possible to minimise covid risks. We targeted some specific caches of interest, but also took the opportunity to find other caches opportunistically as we were passing.

Thanks Team BGF for the cache.

14-Jan-22
On the way to Wangaratta, Memorychip and I decided to unstrap the bikes from the Nissan Tiida and ride around to stretch the legs and collect some smiley faces. After sorting out the coords it was a short ride to GZ.

Thanks for hiding the cache. Such a beautiful town that I have never been to before.

14-Jan-22
Short multi on way around lake on bikes.

Driving to the Mega Wangaratta event with DonutHoles. Good chance to hangout and smashout some good caches.

Find number 14 of the adventure weekend.

Yeah, FREEDOM Smile
Up in Goughs Bay for the weekend but needed a multi for today so it was a day trip to Benalla and the Silo’s.
A nice quick find here today while the rest of my fellow travelers visited to op shops around town. I think I got the good end of the stick Wink
**Thanks for placing this cache Team BGF**

We’re all going to Wangaratta to participate in Victoria’s next Mega!

Victoria is whole again and I crossed the metro/regional border without a second to spare.

Stopping in Benalla to grab a bite to eat for dinner I quickly set about completing this multi. I gathered the details at WP1 and WP2 as I enjoyed the sun streaming in over the lake.

For some reason the last digit in the East coord for GZ doesn’t seem to add up correctly (I thought I double checked my answers too), however since it is the last digit I set off anyway to scout out the area. Fortunately the first place I put my hand was the cache location. Fluke!

With the log signed, I grabbed dinner and set of for camp.

Thanks Team BGF for the cache and for contributing to the game.

Friday the 13th - are we superstitious? With accommodation deferred from last week's covid lockdown, in convoy with Suscoe, we made our way to Benalla.
Four or so years back we had a dramatic failure here, so it was a relief to find the cache today.

Our thanks to Team BGF for placing interesting caches on the gameboard.

Found by Rebel Acts

Mrs Rebel had to make a trip to Bonnie Doon to check on the horses at our Family property, this gave Me time to head over to Benella once again and make another dent in My unfound there.

This is one of the caches I found today. A nice piece of history.

Thanks Team BGF for the cache.

20-May-21
This was the first one we did as we could walk over here from our caravan. A quick off set multi that gave us a bit of history of Benalla as well.

We left Geelong this morning after 10 great days visiting, exploring and, of course, caching and set off for warmer pastures. As neither of us has spent any time in Benalla for years we thought we’d stop and take a look around, and see just how many caches we could find in an afternoon. The free caravan spot down past the library is great. Plenty of spots to pick from, walking distance to the shopping centre, free clean toilets under the library and caches all round. Some of them provided quite a challenge, some were pretty easy and by doing them we saw quite a bit of this pretty town and it’s lovely old buildings. Thanks to all the COs for their time and efforts. We really appreciate it.

We are slowly making our way towards home after spending a few days in Yarrawonga, playing follow the leader down the highway and popping off the main road every now and then to target specific caches. Thanks for the adventure Team BGF.

09-Dec-20
Continuing our trip home, another detour into Benella was needed for a few multis. I thoroughly enjoyed all of them. Thanks for placing the cache Team BGF and for making it a multi

With Cass asleep in the car I took the opportunity to gather the info for this cache. Nice and quick
Spotted quickly at GZ as well which was a bonus

TFTC. We had attempted this one last time we were in Benalla, but came unstuck when the final coordinates threw up something strange. We are back for a day on our way to Albury so stopped off at the show grounds. Walked to the listed GZ and double checked our numbers,,then messaged the CO for a bit of assistance. In the meantime went a searched at a logical GZ. Must have had a boy’s look because after the CO messaged back went back to where I (Hans) had searched. Was looking bleak, but then I spotted the crafty hide. Phew, that was an effort. BTW our initial numbers four all bar the last number of the East were spot on.
Thanks Team BGF for the assist.

24-Oct-19
We were enjoying a cycle around this lake and seeing and hearing various birds. We collected the data and cycled back to this nicely hidden cache. TFTC

Awesome history lesson

12-Nov-18
All chuffed after quickly finding a very cleverly hidden Trad nearby, I decided on doing a Multi Smile

Wandered over to the listed co-ords and gathered the info needed for the 2nd waypoint. Got there and did some more calculations for the final.

[during my walking I discovered some most cool painted rocks, took some pics Big Grin]

A quick find was made and the log was signed at 11:40 on Mon 12 Nov 2018.

TFTC Team BGF. [Thanks for the very Interesting History Lesson on this attractive town [^]]

Nice break after caching around Beechworth. Now this is an area that i MUST come back too. Loved the short walk around the lake - great cache, thanks for bringing me to this beautiful spot.

02-Nov-18
Enjoyed the chance to stretch our legs doing a few caches around the lake. Lovely multi. TFTC

25-May-18
Had to take geo daughter to the toilet while geo wife and geo son continued around the lake so we decided to grab this one. Read all the info and obtained the relevant data to get coordinates for wp2. Arrived at wp2 and showed geo daughter how to tell the time before getting coordinates for the cache location. Arrived at gz and soon found the cache

06-Apr-18
This was a nice multi. I always like to read signs and this let me do it. Tftc

10-Mar-18
Passing through town and was delighted to find the artists at work doing some new mural paintings. Sat and watched for a while before slipping off to make this quick find, now that it has be replaced.
Thanks Team BGF for placing the cache for us to find.

Had another look here today with no luck but doesn't appear to be checked by CO.

16:35
We completed the tasks at Wpts 1 & 2, calculated a GZ where:
We looked high, we looked low, we looked in, we looked out, but unfortunately this D2/T1.5 didn't want to show itself to us today!

Thanks for the hunt anyway Team BGF.

12-Oct-17
Had done all the work previously for this but at GZ had no luck in making the find.

22-Jul-17
We were here at the wrong time of the month: Farmers' Market, muggles galore! still, we found the answers at WP1, enjoyed WP2 and, despite one strange-looking figure came up with a convincing location for GZ. Alas, not to be with the crowds in shopping mode! - Coming back in the dark proved fruitless as one particular muggle would have seen our suspicious actions if we had tried looking for the desired trophy.
This one will have to wait until we come back to Benalla one day. There are still a lot of caches here that we have not even attempted to find yet.

15-May-17
After camping near Casey's Weir last night we returned to town this morning to attempt some of the caches in the BLS series. This was the first we attempted and although we had a frustrating start when we couldn't make sense of one of the sums for the final we found the final where we expected it would be.
Loved the clock at WP2 - have seen similar clocks before but this one was dead simple to operate.
Thanks.

22-Apr-17
dalerious had an errand to run in Benalla and asked if I'd like to go to .... naturally the reply was 'Yes' Cool
I only found 3 caches despite looking for 5 (one of which is archived but allegedly still in place) and one of which is temporarily disabled (well, it was worth putting the geotool with me to use to give it a try Wink )
All in all a lovely cool and slightly misty at times afternoon well spent [^]

Hard to believe that I have found so many of the other caches in this series and not #1 but that has now been rectified! Cool
Nice little multi with something different at WP2 and where we met a young German exchange student out for a walk with her host.
Thought they may have been geocachers too, considering how avid the Germans are however they weren't but she had heard of it.
I bet there some Googling of 'geocaching' done today Wink
Found the cache at GZ and #1 is now off the unfound in Benalla list [^]

Out and about with locus cache I took the opportunity to finally take a crack at this beaut series.Cool
With overcast skies and a light drizzle of rain, WP2 was wasted on us but we did meet some lovely people there.[^]
An easy find.....eventually.Red Face
Well....It was a walk in the park really.Wink

Day 2 on our Quest for the Golden Dragon Easter geocaching tour! We're also hunting Windmills. And we wanted to see the murals in Benalla. Murals and caches - great combo! Did what we needed to do at the signs - which gave us a great overview of the town, went and checked the time - amazingly accurate, and headed to GZ. We were a bit mystified at the previous log. No problem here. It is where it should be. SL TFTC Cheers... Gaztek

As the hubbies started happy hour we wandered along the bank collecting the information we needed.

Found with Geo muppetz this afternoon after grabbing the required numbers and setting off to find wp2 and with a questionable answer with the last numbers we simply split B + E down the middle and we soon had a likely set of final gz numbers and managed a quick find. TFTC Team BGF.

After threatening to do this multi for a long time, I am good at procrastination, this afternoon I did it. Gathered all the data and entered the co-ordinates into the GPS and had the cache in hand. Will send the CO a message, but cache is back in place.
Thanks Team BGF for the cache and my dilemma.

Cache repaired and back in play

07-Jan-16
Catching up on a few late logs (something not that unusual for me). As always, I enjoyed the journey to find the cache, mostly I have been in the company of Team Crackers, maccamob, alansee and the Coffee's, but occasionally I have gone out solo to soak in the solitude of being out in the fresh air.

Thanks Team BGF for placing this cache.

07-Jan-16
We were heading up to Mulwala to deliver some fireworks for there annual ski show and micaparamedic decided to come along for the ride and grab a few caches.
We stopped here to grab a bite to eat and decided to walk it off doing this cache.
We enjoyed collecting the information and soon had a set of numbers that looked good.
At GZ we searched the most logical location with no luck so expanded our search a bit but still found nothing.
We were about to call it a DNF when we spotted something laying in the grass, sure enough it was the cache all in good order, it had just some how escaped its hide.
We added our name to the log but being in the work van we had nothing to repair the container with so hid it as best we could and contacted the owner who was very prompt in checking it out.
Many thanks Team BGF for a great multi.

07-Jan-16
Removed for repairs, thank you Team Crackers for reporting the issue.

26-Nov-15
We collected all the required information during a short walk around part of Lake Benalla. With the coordinates for GZ calculated, we set off and were able to make a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Team_BGF for the cache.

23-Aug-15
What a great start to all our Benalla Series that we aimed to complete today. Like others we were a bit confused with ( B + E ) on WP2, but after we took to guesses at the waypoint, both took us to a very similar spot. Let the Benalla series begin!

Out on a cache run with icefoxy today after a quick decision to cache instead of skiing. Turn out to be the best decision as conditions were not great and a mountain wide power outrage had stopped after the lifts from running. A great run with 18 finds and a number of historical spots visited today. Also on the drive back south to Mansfield saw the brightness double rainbow I have ever seen at lake Nillahcootie.

Now caching around Benalla this was a great short multi a fun hunt. A very pleasant parkland to visit. Big Grin

5/04/2015 12:35 Find #2680 Smile. 2nd find for the day with Zoe the Geohound, Max and Charlotte.

I'd calculated GZ for this yesterday whilst the kids were at the skate park but due to an infestation of travelling muggles left the finding for a later time Wink

Today the cache was found quickly despite a few muggles being in the vicinity but thankfully far more interested in whatever muggles are interested in Razz

Cheers Team BGF

12-Mar-15
Spending a few days in Benalla, to do some sight seeing & caching.
As the area was muggled out on our first visit here, we went back after hours to attempt it.
Collected the required information & did the calculations, at the 2 WP's.
The (B+E) didn't seem to work for us, but went with the average, which led us straight to GZ.
Cache was found after a short search. Signed and replaced as found.
Many thanks for placing this multi cache, Team BGF, for us and others to find.

11-Jan-15
Cache location revised due to original gz removed by Council works. Clues and description updated. Enjoy.

Found with chewinprickles at the start of our BLS walk this afternoon. Today we had hot weather, cold weather, very windy and rain, the 4 seasons in one afternoon, i thought that only happened in Melbourne. This time around chewin did the calcs and we did not make any mistakes. Final was in a brave location but we found it ok. Now off for a good walk.
Thanks for the cache Team BGF.

01-Nov-14
Had lunch here just yesterday and I'm back today to do caches. Bit windy today. Otherwise a nice day.

23-Oct-14
Suscoe's 16th find of today as we wandered around Benalla.
The day had turned out to be very warm indeed.
We were a little puzzled with this one but then Mr.S spotted something just there and with a stretch the cache was found.
We signed the cache and then placed it gently back with success.
We are learning lots about this delightful city.
Thanks to Team BGF for placing this cache.

10-Oct-14
One of 102 caches found today during a big three day cache run, up to and around Kelly country which included Benalla, Tolmie, Beechworth and Glenrowan. A great three days spent exploring and discovering with a fantastic group of fellow cachers, which we collectively called ourselves 'The Kelly Gang'.

Today being Friday, I spent the day caching on my own as I made my way around the conutryside before meeting up with the rest of the gang at our camping spot for the night at Stringy Bark Creek. I had a nice early start, hitting the road before dawn and the sun rose as I made my way through the Great Dividing Range. A perfect day for caching which included some time biking it around Benalla, before heading for Beechworth to find some 'Challenge' caches and some of the HSS series caches, then back south to Stringy Bark Creek for a fantastic camp fire dinner with some great company.

I initally was just going to stop and find a few caches in Benalla before moving on but in the end I stayed for a few hours and rode around this lovely town, managing to find every cache I hadn't yet found. The BLS is a really enjoyable series and I had a great time riding to each location and searching for each cache. Some tricky hides that had me scratching my head and some very clever and well constructed hides as well. A nice multi to start to run and I really liked WP2. No problems in spotting the cache and I was soon off the next one. Thanks Team BGF.

Got to GZ but a magpie started swooping so gave up for now - will be back when the magpie is sleeping

After navigating my way around half the BLS power trail I found myself at the half way point and a bridge leading me back to my car. Also it was getting late in the afternoon and I doubt I would have enough sunlight to finish the second half. I then found myself walking past GZ #1 and this time no sign of the magpie that swooped at me and my geodogs earlier in the afternoon so took the opportunity to have a proper look around and made a fairly quick find. As I was putting the log back in the cache the magpie returned and swooped once again, luckily I learnt my lesson early on and had returned to the car for my hat before setting out on the power trail. SL #1609 on streak day #814 TFTC fav awarded for keeping me entertained this afternoon and only 1 DNF out of 11 caches.

Council has totally obliterated the 'temporary' gz for this cache today. A temporary nano has now been installed, and should be easy to spot. Good news is the proper hide location should be available again soon Smile

[:(!] What better way of filling in the day than to do a full day of caching and this was one of them, parked the geoKa as close as possible to GZ and walked to the relative way points, collected the information, substituted the numbers into the formula and I was of to GZ, on arrival at GZ the cache was located and it was in hand in a matter of minutes.

#801 Found with Team Rubik today on our Benalla Geocaching and Munzee expedition. We have really been enjoying the BLS series and it was great to see that the one that started it all has been replaced in a temporary location. A very informative series and a great history lesson of the area. Well done Team BGF.

Yay, another one of the series down. I was one that had this one all worked out and found the final blocked off. It's taken me this long to get around to redoing it with the new final. Thanks team BFG for getting me out on this cold and rainy night.

Found on a very wet miserable day. After successfully seeking out waypoints, had to sit and wait in geovehicle for rain to ease before venturing out again. Found container after short search. Hard to sign log with numb fingers. Tftc

Miscalculated the weather thought I would miss the shower but was well away from shelter when the rain arrived so just kept going. I had acquired the numbers I needed so did some very quick sums and straight to the cache Bit difficult trying to sign in the windy wet conditions. A smile is a smile TFTC TeamBFG

I'm here with CybergranV to try to complete this series today. It's a beautiful day - absolutely perfect for geocaching and we are making the most of it. Thanks Team BGF for creating the new coordinates while all the construction work nearby is being completed.

Thank you so much for putting up a temporary cache for this. I would not have been happy completing the series without doing this one. A lovely day for a drive to Benalla with o.kay to tidy up some loose ends, beginning with this one

#5969 Yay we did it!! We didn't know whether daylight hours would permit the completion of this series however we thought we'd give it a crack regardless and despite our leisurely caching pace we found ourselves still with a good half an hour of daylight left. We'd left this cache to last as we thought it may have taken the longest to completed. So the geomobile was once again parked and off we set ready for some information collation. Enjoyed the walk to WP1 and then the second Stage whilst chowing down on a chocolate muffin - mmmmmm Razz. Once the numbers had to obtained we plugged the finals in only to find GZ being on the way back to where we had parked.....nice! Our thanks to Team BGF for the time, effort and expense that has gone into this series, a credit to you. Cheers [^]

As the final cache location is still unavailable for access due to Council works, a temporary cache has been placed nearby. As a result the final equation has been amended - good luck, regards Team BGF.

Looks like gz won't be available for some time yet. A temporary cache will be placed soon, regards Team BGF

You bought us to a very nice area where we were able to ascertain all the info required but could not search for the cache as the area was all fenced off. I love the way the signs give such wonderful information about your very interesting city. Your BLS trail is what bought us here today in an attempt to see how many we can achieve. In perfect weather we now set forth

Not accessible due to Council works. You may still become a BLS legend without logging this cache whilst it is disabled - regards Team BGF.

# 7457 Found on the third leg of our S.K.I.D.R.O. adventure,
at another stopover in this town for a few days and to do the BLS series.
A nice multi to start the trip and a typical twist at the end. Well done.
I had some adventures during the trek and impressed with many of the hides.
Not many muggles around and a good hide.
Thanks for the cache Team BGF,
Roostaman.

After nutting this one out a bit, and Doc having issues with no quite getting what I was saying, soon had workable coordinates. GPS was a bit jumpy, so centered and started looking, yet another clever hide. Hats off to the COs Smile

This cache caused me some problems Smile
Or rather, my antiquated electronic cache note storage device, better known as a 'dumb phone', would not display the cache notes [:o]
And to make matters worse, there was a car bound muggle looking at me as I tried to search 'GZ' for the inevitable magnetic Eclipse Tin Razz

With no notes, no cache found, and staring muggle problems, I retreated to find some other nearby caches on the BLS and try to sort everything out Big Grin

At the water towers, I finally found the database in me phone that I needed to load into the 'app' that tells me all about caches Big Grin
Oh !! Of course it is a multi-cache [^]
I suspected as much.

Back at GZ, muggle had gone and been replaced by annoying council mowing guy Twisted
As he did circles around me I worked out where to head to next.
Which was where annoying council mowing guy also headed !! [:(!]

As he did circles around me I worked out where to head to next.
That's odd !!
Annoying council mowing guy didn't follow me Big Grin

Finally at a very unlikely GZ I parked the pushie and looked around.
Something was odd about where I parked the pushie, and I put my finger on it.
Nup !! Not a cache Sad

DNF time, after all that !! SadSadSad

Or was it ?
In an act of desperation I poked something !!

Oh that is good [^]

We have already done a few in this BLS series so better have a go at the #1 multi. Quite a few folks taking advantage of the shady car park this morning, some fishing, some reading the latest news and some off walking in the relative coolness. Found all the required numbers on the signs and sauntered off to WP 2. This is a different way of presenting one of these timepieces, it was spot on too! Our final sums completed we headed to GZ. mrs harrowang soon spotted the container but needed the taller mr harrowang to retrieve. A cheeky peewee bird perched on top of the structure and seemed to be indicating where to look. As soon as we retrieved it he flew off. SL at 10.05am #1946 TF another great cache in this series Team BGF.
