Had a search today with friends for this one which I remember as being an easy one to find. Suspect it is gone.
Too hot today for walking anywhere so driving around in the AC hoovering up a few lone caches.

Hi IJBTas thanks for the cache almost a drive by and an easy find at GZ. Had an athletics camp here back in the early 80's and the buildings look the same as they did then lol. All good with the hide.
Today was the day to stop and find this cache instead of driving past on the way to others.
Thanks for the cache IJBTas. Out and about this afternoon with the GeoGSP and decided to stop by and have a look for this cache. A nice quick find, and I love the appropriate container. Have lost cound of the number of times I have camped further past this gateway in my younger years, as well as quite a few nights in the nearby hall on training and leadership courses. Time well spent, and I've used a lot of the skills I learned in those days whilst out geocaching. Cheers.
Found my 1st Tassie cache whilst attending a Scout Commissioners meeting at the Lea scout camp and HQ tftc
Found after ages of looking and going off target from the gps slightly.

Hi there IJBTas.
We found your cache **"The Lea"** at 9:47:00 L today. (This makes our grand total 18723).
Found this cache on our way back to camp after a productive morning caching around Hobart. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip today & ended up finding a variety of container types, and sizes hidden along our route.
No wonder the previous finder couldn't find the cache (only 26 caches found). It looks like they were too inexperienced to widen their search area. We found the cache 15 metres from the posted GZ in the second likely place we looked.
Our cache count was 5 caches today, with 3 DNF's. Without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 15m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
**Grabbed Trackable:** "Lackey Tag".
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Booked accomodation here a few weeks back didnt realise it was a scout camp. And caches here what a bonus
I have driven passed this so many time but called in today and made the find whilst out with Goose of GooseandEgg who had found it many moons ago, upon opening the cache I discovered a peg from Tazscout which I found funny since I have one on my desk.
thanks for the cache.

This had me confused at first but I got it before too long. I think the coordinates might be off by 2 or 3 metres sinde I got to the same grass spot as others did but it wasn't really a problem and was quite obvious when I stopped to think and when I looked in the right spot.
The pencil that the CO put in there has gone walkabout so you'll need to bring your own - but then wnat kind of geocacher wouldn't anyway? Log was slightly dmp but the bag was intact and the cache was dry inside so everything was in good condition overall.

I've wanted to find this one for a while now. Glad I finally got the chance.
This took longer than it should have. About to give up when widened search area and cache was in hand. TFTC
After reading the clue to this one we considered leaving it as it sounded way too hard. Upon passing GZ to look for another cache, we decided to give it a go as all was not as it seemed. Took a bit of searching, this is one of those times that we should not have looked at the clue as it put us off track. Thanks for the cache from a Joey Scout Leader in Victoria.
This was find #70 on our 2 weeks of caching our way around Tasmania. Thanks for the fun

After reading the clue i have to say we nearly didn't stop and search - but the clue is very misleading as we discovered after finding the cache. We definitely over thought this one!!
After putting aside the GPS as it had us in the middle of the grass strip i put on my geo senses and soon had this cache in hand.
I also didn't know til I arrived that this was a scout camp - so hello to any scouts who find this from a scout leader at 2nd Springvale in Melb.
Thanks for the cache.
#70 of Julz and Cathy's great Tassie Geocation.

Ok first cache of the day, often drive in here for scouting related things but just never got around to stopping until today. Found with co-ords out a little, but not that hard to work out. Try as we might lid was locked on solid. Photo to be added if proof of find is required.

Today we had many caches to do. In the morning we went to Huonville to buy there Tasmanian honey. On the way back to Hobart, we stopped at some caches. We looked especially for caches with a high rating. We almost forgot about to buy our dinner, but in Australia , the shops fortunately stay open long. Thank you to this point in advance for the creativity and greatness caches that we could find.
This was on our way . Locally, we were only in the wrong place , but when we changed sides ran it .

This one has been our to-do list for a long time as we drive by here everyday and have been to the Lea for scouting, archery, laser tag birthday parties and orienteering many, many times. Finally took the time to stop and find it. After deciding it had to be in one of two places looked in the wrong one first but finally had it in hand. TNLN TFTC
Found, good start on planned run of caches for the day to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. Found with cachecow69. like the location and the idea of laser tag is also a good one. TFTC. TNLNSL
Nearly a driveby, but under the cover of darkness, I parked a little way off and then tried to ensure my torch didn't alarm the nearby caretaker residence. Nonetheless, a relatively quick and easy find after dinner out. Thanks for the cache IJBTas.

We're on a six month stay here from the Kurrajong area, (Blue Mountains) NW of Sydney, to tour in the caravan and also visit our kids and grandkids in the Huon Valley
On four previous visits before this visit, we were muggles, so we have a whole island of caching fun ahead of us!

This was one of the first caches we ever looked for. At the time had no idea what we were looking for and didn't find it. Now after a few more caches under our belts we looked and had within a minute...

I quick stop on the way to do another cache a bit further south. The Bear hasn't been to the Lea in many years, the last time was probably when his father was Chief Commissioner. He found the cache fairly quickly and was too absorbed in logging to notice a big yellow bus departing the Lea, it scared the wits out of him. TFTC.

Today was the second time I visited this spot. The first time it was so busy I could not have a look in between the cars going past. However, this time was much better and I located the container and signed the log and replaced it with no cars passing by. A great cache and a broken drive to Blackman's Bay. TFTC
Staying at the Lea this weekend for a National Scout Training meeting. Went out for an early morning stroll to grab this one.....soooo many hiding holes!!! TB drop and TFTC
Made the quick find after dropping the junior red tags to school.

It was a busy morning at the Lea and a few times we had that awkward feeling but having kids makes it just that bit easier to explain if necessary (not required today). Took a bit of searching, making sure each rock was replaced exactly. Eventually found and logged and we got out before any more cars came. TFTC
Quite embarrassing how everyone found it easy, and I failed to find it three times.
In my defence, searching on private property makes me extraordinarily uncomfortable, especially with people overlooking.
A fellow cacher had confirmed the location for us, and Mrs RC found it in the spot I had thought looked suspicious each time, but had moved the wrong rock.
I've never been to a Scout Camp (though I was briefly a Scout), but I've been orienteering and laser skirmishing up the top, and I'm itching to try the downhill MTB track.

Found it on a trip to the scout training centre. Looked on the other side for a little then found easily on the correct side.
Three DNFs for the day (but five finds).
I have stopped here previously, but there's always been people on the verandah.
Today I poked around for a while, feeling uncomfortable about fiddling with people's property (or nearly property), before moving on.
