On a rare trek north of the river for a nearby event Me&B and I decided to take a stroll and track down some of the local Hiddo caches.
Ran into the CO here and she said that the cache was gone.

Didnt find it - no signs of muggling though. Maybe me just not working hard enough today!
Geoaunt spotted the flash of green croc hide through the foliage, luv it! Thanks for the hunt.
That was great if you didn't have good eyesight you could be looking for over an hour – it took my uncle a couple of minutes thanks guys
Took a few minutes to find this one as I was on the wrong side of the path initially. I then went to the other side, read a previous log and soon had the cache in hand. Signed the log. Thanks for the hide Hiddo.
This cache was found on an awesome day of bike riding and caching around the lake with my family (jasenjanine) & MNS13, Justintime13, Kyzabra & Cee-Kay-2003... Thanks Hiddo [^]
With school holidays upon us, we were looking for ways to yet again wear down our tireless geo-kids! So the plan was to hit Lake Hiddo & find some caches whilst exploring the area by bike
So this one may not have been the next closest, but once we determined which way the track went our convoy was off & racing towards the cache! I was quick to spot this one & it was well admired by the geo-kids [^] TFTC Hiddo!

Had a bgreat day out today with JasenJanine, MNS13 and the geokids. Ceekay2003, Dangermouse09, Justintime13, and little Tyler & Nate
After a FTF on the way up here, a ride around Herdsman Lake and a couple of nearby ones. All up 31 finds and 1 DNF. A good day all up.
With anywhere from 3 to 8 sets of eyes, we made good time on our 14km ride/walk (according to my GPS)
We were in Duck territory last week, this week......its Hiddotown !!!!
A quick spot by Jasenjanine and log duties completed. We were on our way again.

We headed out this morning into Hiddo territory with the idea of riding around Lake Herdsman and what a lovely day it was, the weather was perfect, the company was great.
We teamed up with KYZABRA, CEEKAY, JASENJANINE, DANGERMOUSE, JUSTINTIME13 and of course the little ones NATE AND TYLER.
We had a very successful day with 31 finds and 1 DNF. More often than not, I was last to the party trailing behind with NATE, but I am so proud of him and his little legs, peddling the whole 14km, refusing to take a load off and get into the trailer.
This was the 2nd cache for the day, I love the container.
Thanks for a great cache Hiddo!

A short trip north to do a walk around Herdsman Lake with BettyBoo3747. No deadly treadlies today, so it was down to shanks ponies!
Grabbed a few other local mysteries while we were in the area.
That croc is going to have to climb higher if he is going to see any ponies around here!
He also has his mouth a bit full at the moment.
Thanks, Robmc.

# 6085. Day 3 of our caching foray around Perth that resulted in 28 finds and 3 DNF's. Robmc and I headed out through peak hour traffic and turned north. Our aim was to walk around Herdsman Lake and also to pick up some other nearby caches. It was a long walk - for someone who dislikes walking - and took us over 4 hours. We did enjoy seeing so much diverse birdlife around the waterways today.

A cute cache that was finally spotted from the other side. We were to find several more fun caches from here onwards.
Thanks Hiddo

A nice day for a walk amongst friends. We were put off by the supposed need to look for a tiny cache in a paperbark but I moved some stuff and spotted it relatively easily. Unfortunately, he ate the cache. TFTC!
Was out caching with duncdonut73 and kellyxley. After caching for more than three years, I finally saw my first tiger snake on the walk to this one. Thankfully, it quietly slithered away to let me continue along the path. Dunc found the croc at the GZ. TFTC
out for bit of a cache around the lake on a really nice day this was one of a few caches for the day

A quick find here in the logical spot, number 3 of 8 for this afternoon. Cute cache! Bumped into the CO when returning to the car. Nice to have met you in the flesh Hiddo - thanks for your awesome caches around the Lake, and for the hint for Battledriod too.

The croc that got my blimey hand almost chomped the other as I scrummaged through the rough. Tftc
Although well hidden from muggle-eyes I found this fellow quite quickly despite dodging a few of those passer-by muggles this morning. A colourful little bloke he is too (the croc, that is, not the muggle).
Signed the log and replaced him exactly as found.

I've come down from Darwin and you heed the croc warninng up there. I am still a little nervous around the water ways here. But this guy seemed happy to see me. TFTC
No pen so pic instead for now
Found him very exposed to muggles on the corner fence post- hopefully put him back where he belongs

I spotted this cache from quite some distance as it is sitting upon a fence post in plain view. The nearest paperbark was on the other side of the path and I wasn't sure where it is supposed to be so I've left it where I found it. TFTC.
This cache was sitting atop a fencepost in plain view. From the cache description this isn't where it should be so will need to be replaced soon or I'm afraid it won't last long.
Met up with Xinders today and headed out to do some Munzees around Herdsman Lake. But of course whilst nearby we grabbed a couple of caches. Nearly walked right past this cutie.
Being over 40degrees already we didn't get as much done as we had hoped but we did find this one.

So good to catch up with FelixII today. We spent a pleasant day caching and munzeeing but time went by too quickly and we didn't get as much done as we planned. This was a very cute cache, though. Mrs Felix actually was the one who spotted it! TFTC Hiddo
Saw this one as I walked past. Signed the log. Then put it back with a bit more camouflage.
Wife said this morning that my New Years resolution should to be to loose a few kg's. I said to her my resolution was to log 500 caches for the year. So of I went on the deadly treadly for day 1 of the quest and to log as many of the herdsman lake caches as possible
Nice hide

Found this one today on our beautiful walk around the lakes, we saw a lot of nice spots and had great time. Thanks for all those nice places and caches to find. TFTC
Bit bigger than a micro, surely?
Finders with big fingers will find replacing the log easier if its mouth is opened fully.

Probably the most entertaining cache container we have found to date!

It was time to finish off the remainder of caches around Herdsman Lake. This was the first. Very cute. The croc coughed up the log quite eagerly for me to sign. Tftc Hiddo
[:(!] Seeing I had nothing better to do today than to a caching run to fill in my idle time, so I left at 8.30am on my geobike and arrived home about 5.30pm and this was one of them, on arrival at GZ the cache was in hand in a matter of minutes.

Our with the geo kid to find some caches around one side of the lake, a quick spot here for the cache.TFTC
Very cute cache.
Path on other side is under water! So that ruled out that side.
Cache was found quickly and easily.
Thanks for the smart caches!

Love the Herdsman Lake area, rode the geobike today to find the latest caches around.
Quick find here, but the container is a bit strange. I was wondering how weird it would be to come up with a cover story in case of a muggle asked what I was doing there... TFTH

Spotted a man at GZ from a distance, and thought "someone else is looking". But he turned out to be a photographing muggle with a paparazzi-size lens to take photos of birds of the feathered variety.
Glad to spot this cache, certainly appropriate to the Herdsman Bayou! TFTC Hiddo!

So glad these fellows live a lot further up north!! He was quite exposed when we arrived, but the bird photographer hadn't spotted him, so we used a bit more camo. Home for a coffee before the day gets too much warmer.

I'd planned to head south to find a cache before work but ended up sleeping in. Jumped on the fat tyred 29er for these latest 3 hides since I knew what the terrain was like in this section. A straightforward find. Took a while to get the croc to spit the log; eventually found a little twig which was flexible enough to bend at the necessary angle while also having the strength to not snap when I extracted the log. Thanks for the cache Hiddo.
P.S. - There were no ponies for the croc to be watching this morning but he was facing away from the arena anyway....I think he heard me coming and flipped around to see my approach.

e had a couple of hours to spare today so i went out with the geohubby to get the caches around herdsman lake. we dont own a push bike so we did it the hard way and walked it but today was a nice day for walking. We managed to find 21 in the 4 hours we had to spare so we were happy with that. We found a good variety of containers and most caches were found quite quickly with a few sneaky hides that took a few minutes to find. Quick find, nice container TFTC Hiddo
Visiting family from Port Elizabeth, South Africa, and we did a slow walk/cycle around the lake to find some caches!
Hard to miss this croc! TFTCSL

Mistraluna suggested Herdsman lake area and looking at it a good excuse to bike ride it. The hides were a good variety of characters and containers. Another favourite was sunbaking and visible from path.
The location was the star as was the variety of birdlife found. Thanks for the FTF Hiddo.

Headed north again today, this time to team up with AmstradKid (I had hoped that Jazl would be along for the adventure, but she had to stay at home due to the likelihood of snakes in the area we were targeting). Wasn't expecting to get any FTF's today, so we were surprised to find an empty log at this one. Wrote the time and date in the logbook. Looks like the next cacher along was pretty happy about finding it too, as he or she logged the find twice!! Thanks for another cute hide Hiddo
Decided to venture around the lake today and get some of these. Very enjoyable outing. Very nice container which our two year old would certainly appreciate!
