Unfortunately we have to let this one go. It has had a couple of reincarnations now and i won't be in the area for a while ... Thanks to all that found it.
I searched unsuccessfully for this cache on a trip to Western Australia from Adelaide with FeatherWaite. We camped south of Newman last night, then continued to make our way north finding caches of interest along the way. This cache is definitely gone. We could probably have replaced it but as previous searchers have noted, there have been earthworks in the area, leaving no suitable hiding location, and GZ needs to be moved. Thanks anyway jasenjanine.
There have been recent earth movements in this area so don’t think this is there anymore
Before I crossed the Fortescue,
there was one thing I had to do.
Find this cache,
in its hiding place,
and sign the logbook too

Quick park and grab while on our epic Pilbara trip. Kalgans pool to Carawine gorge.

Cheers for this. Cache log in good condition, however little bit of water in base of cache. Plenty of grasshoppers/locusts around and river has water in it at the moment with small fish. Photo from eastern side of bridge. TFTC
Found this afternoon after dropping an oversize up the road. Thanks for placing this here, makes my trip home much more fun. Not a drop of water under the bridge today. TFTC
Hi there jasenjanine.
We found your cache **"Crossing the Fortescue"** today. (This makes our find count 22713).
We cached around Roy Hill today,as well as attempting some caches around Ophthalmia Dam . We found your cache **"Crossing the Fortescue"** at 10:31:00 AM. (This brings our total find count to 22713). We had an interesting trek around the area & found 11 caches today & DNF'd 0.
Thanks for placing the cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our nomadic wander around Australia.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache around 3m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing
**Left:** Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny

Convenient stop for a lunch break and to give the geo-schnauzers a break from the back seat. No water evident but quick find. Thanks jasenjanine

Tftc considered stayed here overnight but have decided to go just a little further
Muggle has a 5 day weekend, well 4.5 days after he got some sleep from finishing work at 1am Thursday so we thought we'd take Bruce along on a road trip and grab the old cache here and there
Stayed in Newman last night and made our way here this morning.
Thankfully not under the rocks I thought it would be.
We drove over the bridge and found the track down and the cache not far away.
Nice easy find

After having quite an enjoyable stay in Newman it was now time again to start heading north and see where caching took us only aiming as far as Marble Bar.
Not being many caches along the road here we definitely weren't going to drive passed one and this one being unloved for eighteen months had a special draw card for us. We pulled in off the road and found a roads works water truck parked at the bottom and thought"Oh Bugger", it looks like we won't be able to look for this one. We then looked at the GPSr and found the cache wasn't hidden where we assumed it would be and it was in fact well and truly away from the eyes of the water truck driver. We followed the GPSr to gz for a nice easy find and added our name to the log noting that "The Old Blokes" had again beaten us to an unloved cache.
Many thanks again jasenjanine for the cache and for showing us this location.

We replaced this cache to its new location with permission from the cache owners. Have just discovered that we have totally forgotten to log it. Great location. We stayed a while and the dog enjoyed his swim in the river.
Can you please check this cache. GZ was in the middle of nowhere and with all the new road and bridge construction there really isn't a campsite here anymore.
No problem finding the cache on my drive from Newman to Port Hedland via Marble Bar. Construction is still going on nearby but far enough away not to be disturbed by workers. Thanks for the cache Jasenjanine.
#111
Thank you for the hunt. Construction is still around, but GZ is OK and likely to remain intact.

Found a while ago and while reviewing for new caches I discovered I missed two.
We were at the start of a trip through to the Karlamillyi National park and did not get home for a while and plenty of time without coverage. TFTC

Found while travelling through this lovely area. Thanks for putting a cache out here!
A quick find while on my way to Pt Hedland from Newman via Marble Bar.
The roadworks close by weren't an issue thankfully.

Thanks for the case. It was a good brake from the driving. Cache was found very quickly as the co-ords were spot on
I was heading up here again for work, so decided to have another look for this one again.
How did I miss this last time ? It must have been the ants.
This time, with more determination, I dug deeper and made the find.
TFTH jasenjanine. Thanks for giving me something else to do on this otherwise long boring drive.

Checked on this one as I passed today, and all is ok with the cache .... Just a slight tweek of the co-ords as I only had the smartphone when I originally placed it. Hopefully the Garmin is a little more accurate

I had been watching this listing for some time. Anticipating a FTF opportunity knowing it wouldn't get a lot of passing traffic (cacher wise) and today was the day my muggle mate and I headed out.
Excitement turned to Apprehension as we arrived at GZ as there has been some digging work done and trees cut done and ground. We hunted the trees nearby and no luck. A call to the CO confirmed our fears. It was gone.
Ah well, hopefully it can be replaced and give me something to look forward to on my next trip.
