Good journey - but our start was upgraded by wading across the stream. There wasnt any bridge from the campsite. We promised a hobit hole to Kaja. He was dissapointed - but only for a while Great forest path. Thanks for the cache and greetings from the Czech Republic!
Enjoyed a view of the lake before heading over and logging this geocache.
The logbook is extremely damp so couldn’t sign.

spent 6 great weeks in New Zealand with my The start was a bit bumpy (Cyclone Gabrielle) but then it got better and better. We travelled to both islands and discovered a lot. We photographed and filmed many beautiful things, but most of it stayed in our hearts.
Almost everywhere we stopped, a cache was already waiting for us. Most of the caches are well maintained and easy to find.
With mostly very nice weather, we saw a lot of this impressive island. In many places, caches were waiting for us, which were sometimes easy and sometimes difficult to find. This cache was also included and was successfully signed
We puzzled a lot in advance and the tours were well prepared
So this box was also well found.
now I have another on my personal cache card.
many thanks to [^] **Hinemoana** [^] for the effort and the cache and greetings from Germany

Love the walk to Lake Sylvan & it was extra peaceful in the evening as we walked from the campsite. A while spent admiring the view across the lake, then grabbed the cache before heading back to camp. Thanks for placing this cache in such a beautiful area.
A great overnight trip over Sugarloaf pass camping at Rockburn shelter. Lake Sylvan was a great spot for lunch and a swim. Found with livingk. Thanks for placing the cache
Found with elihyn as we completely the Sugarloaf-Lake Sylvan circuit. Lovely location. The log was quite damp in spite of being in a plastic bag. Container lid not sealing so well now? TFTC
What a lovely camping spot with quite a few motorhomes parked up. There were a few spots of rain as I arrived which had turned to rain on my return but I hadn't noticed that under the canopy of all the lovely trees. What a lovely walk. The sign at the sugarloaf junction said 7-9 hours walk to here so my walk from the carpark was a breeze in comparison. Thanks for bringing me here today Hinemoana. TFTC # 17,994
Glorious morning in the forest today, bird song. First day of the five passes trip.

We went from Glenorkie to Lake Sylvan to do the nice bush trail.
The sign read that it would take 1.5-2.5 hours to walk (quite a comparison), but us being quite fast walkers took us just under 1.5 hours.
Found this one after viewing the lake with the nice mountain background near GZ.
Thank you for maintaining, nice walk!

Road tripping around central otago and geocaching along the way. Found with everdene22. Tftc
We did part of the Routeburn track yesterday, then camped at the lake Salvyn campground and did this walk in the morning. There are some super cute mini treehouses near the viewing platform.
Cache was a very quick find. Cover is quite obvious and can be seen from the track. I loved the walk in the forest! Cool trees.

This was an awesome walk to this one. Really enjoyed getting to this one and very glad there were no sandflies here. So lucky to live in such a beautiful country. TFTC
In Queenstown for the Gibbston concert and then a last minute decision yesterday to head to Glenorchy and explore the area.
Was staying at Kinloch in April last year and planned on exploring the area then but with excessive rain it was all flooded and after being stuck at the lodge for 2 days we were unable to. Stayed the night at Kinloch again and then the morning was spent exploring around Lake Sylvan and then over to the Routeburn Track before heading home. It was a lovely walk with Gadget169 to the Lake and very glad to spot where the cache was hiding straight away after a disappointing DNF at the hobbit hole. Found a really cool mini hobbit house at a nearby tree so had fun adding to it TFTC

Easy find. Cache a little damp but ok. Made sure was double bagged etc.
What a beautiful lake. Especially as sun came out and blue skies. After rain/drizzle most of the day.

An easy find this year after having no luck last time. But couldn’t open the cache!
sehr schöne und gemütliche Wanderung durch den Wald mit einem wunderbarem See Während unserer Lunchpause haben wir diesen Cache geholt.
We had a nice walk through the woods suggested by our AirB&B hosts. This felt a little like home in the Pacific Northwest. TFTC!

Great spot and easily located cache. Track has had a lot of work and must of the loop is wide and gravelled now.
Thanks.
Thanks.
First find after winter and in good condition. 1080 dropped here last week. Lake looking quite gorgeous.
Four weeks we spent together with Lwagnero and Geoded wandering through the beautiful New Zealand and occasionally also searched caches. This was one of them that we found. Thanks and greetings from Czech Republic.
Three catchers plus three muggles spent four weeks in New Zealand and so we browsed along our way. One day trip lead us here. TFTC
My Muggle parentals have been visiting Queenstown and I decided to bring them up to GY and Lake Sylvan for the day. This walk has been on my list for a while and I finally managed to tick it off. Beautiful spot even though it was a bit windy! Found a geocoin out in the open before I found the cache itself! Cheers and TFTC
Took the longer track in to Lake Sylvan, which was a bit muddy in places, but well worth it. Easy find while the other half of the party was taking pix of the lake.

What a fantastic walk, and fantastic views. Thanks for bringing us here - quick find before muggles arrived on the scene.
TFTC Thank you for going to the effort of hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity.
With little kids the walk got quite long. First we took the tramway - back the short track. But 3 hours are enough. It was great walking through a great forest. I love forests like this.
Thanks
Thanks
Once in a lifetime we wanted to travel to the other side of the world. This year we took a chance and made a 4 weeks trip to New Zealand! Although caching was not the main purpose, we had our GPS prepared and when we were close to a cache, we of course looked for it and logged it. So we found several dozens of "kiwi-caches" and want to thank all the owners!!
Today we made a trip from Queenstown via Glenorchy to the Paradise. Weather was not paradisic, but aquatic... Although we were looking for some caches. To the lake and back it was raining cats and dogs, but it was a great experience!! Thanks for showing!

Beautiful walk with a couple of very friendly robins along the way! Happy to have been directed well away from the large group of walkers who looked like they weren't moving for a while. TFTC.
Great day for a walk at Lake Sylvan. We didn't have a pen though! So took a photo instead. TFTC =)

Instead I ventured out with an old-school GPS and a pen to find the other cache. When I did that, I realised that there's this one and I won't be back here anytime soon. Oh well. What could possibly go wrong? I mean the sun sets in only 20 minutes and the torch is half flat? Long story short: I made it back to the camp site soon enough not to run into a tree in the darkness but not soon enough for Anna to not be a bit worried.

Stayed a night at Lake Sylvan campground and found this one in the morning. A really nice walk through the native bush to get to this cache, the lake is interesting too. TFTC
Found by Facitman and Mrs Facit during our Campervan trip around the South Island at 14:34
A lovely walk through the forest ending with this beautiful lake, such a great area.
The cache was located quickly, as I like for a cache that is more about the journey and view.
Thanks Hinemoana

What a great walk. Rarely saw such a beautiful forest!!! I first did not want to trust my GPS and spent quite some time with unnecessary climbing. Finally trusted the GPS and found the box. The cache is well hidden. Looks like nobody ever touched that area. TFTC
Fifty mins there and 45 mins back but the most amazing place. We have been here before but didn't find the cache that time, maybe it wasn't there last time. We had to make some detours as the track was swamped from snows over the last few weeks. Always worth going though. It is unlike anywhere and my most favourite place in NZ.
After having a think at the intersection, we took the left path which took us straight to the cache. Sadly we did not have enough time to do the longer loop, as we arrived later in the day than I intended. Its only 4 pm, but its 40 mins return to the car! Beautiful landscape with the snow resting on the peaks, Autumn is looking good. Love the hide, hidden under its "blanket" the cache is dry, and clevely concealed. Thanks for the hide.
After walking in the forest for 40 minutes we were rewarded with a great view over this alpine lake.
Today we went on a tour of the Glenorchy area including Paradise and Lake Sylvan. Along the road we were treated with some very stunning scenery as well as some sunshine. We went on the Lake Sylvan walk which was one of the day's highlights.

Good to go again - thanks to slieschke and FMZ for assistance with the replacement!!
Found with funkymunkyzone on a long weekend caching trip down south from Auckland. Replaced with permission of the CO; unfortunately the original hide area is looking a bit worse for wear so we had to relocate it. When you find it listen for the trees nearby communicating with each other! Spooky eh? It took us a while to work out what was making the sound! Thanks!
Happy to help out a friend since we were in the area, so placed (with permission) a new cache a short distance away from where the existing cache was. Really enjoyed this walk through the wet green mossy bush to this pretty lake. A bit rainy but it all added to the atmosphere, and I can just imagine the mountain views you'd get on a fine day. TFTC!!!
We did the beautiful roundtrip to Lake Sylvan - with the little farther, but very recommendable stretch on the way back.
At the lake we realized that the cache by Hinemoana was disabled, so we checked all the possible locations and could sadly confirm to Hinemoana that the box must be lost.
The walk is worthwhile with or without cache - so many different kinds of woods and bushes, the lake and the mountains behind and the historic railroad rests on the detour back.
Thanks to Hinemoana for the log-allowance and - good choice to relocate the cache a little bit, because the original location is somewhat of a public toilet actually.

Certainly a picturesque view once you reach the viewing platform. Not too many problems finding this one. Last cache for the day, the rain has set in and we have a funeral to attend.

This is a surprisingly stunning view when you get to the lake and I had a lot of fun on the walk spotting all the natural ‘sculptures’ and art that the forest had made. After reading the other logs carefully I was prepared for a good hunt and a good hunt I had, unhindered by any muggle visitors. I eventually gave up, admired the view, turned to leave and there it was! I had a good chuckle to myself considering I must have passed it at least twice without seeing it. A favourite from me for the view! TFTC
Great walk. Took almost as long to find the cache!! Didn't get it till we decided to eat lunch instead. Good thing we finally got it as a large family of muggles then arrived...and did we mention the sandfly population...???
On our way back from Paradise KullerKeks90 and I spend on the campground next by the night. On the next day we wanted to tramp on the Routburn Track. In the evening we visited Lake Sylvan and could find after a swim in the lake this little cache. TFTC!
Shinichi87 and I found this little one on our road trip around the south island. Our beloved Campervan Gimli took us in every little part of the South Island, so we could collect a lot of Caches
