Haven't managed to find it, did quite a good look around maybe have the wrong area
With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... Roaming around the wide open spaces of the Manawatu this weekend. We’ve had the caching brakes on for far too long, and it’s a weekend to cut loose.
The four ottar were easy enough to find, but the cache - not so much... Some evidence of scratching around, but no find.

One of seven caches located today (not including the five credited for an Adventure Lab outside Palmerston North) on day 10, sadly our last day, of our motorhome summer holiday to Hawkes Bay. Today we travelled from Dannevirke back to Wellington, picking up a few caches along the way including three at the Ashhurst Domain. This was a reasonably quick find. #3708. TFTC.
Initially no joy where my coordinates were showing, but reread the cache name and then it was a quick find. Many thanks for the cache in a lovely spot
Drove from masterton to palmerston north to visit a friend. Went into ashhurst to grab a coffee and go for a walk in the domain.
It was raining whiles I did a loop around the park but it was nice been outside. Found this cache quickly.

Nice walk passed some significant trees. Surprised we know enough to be greatly helped by the hint. NINO TFTC
I had a job to do in Palmy and knowing some of team bop (McJandals) were down here decided we needed to team up and do a few caches before heading home. Tftc
I was in the Manawatu and got the call from part of the team (Team BoP) who were on a quick day trip, a spur of the moment trip as one if our members had a job to do in Palmy so in the van we went trying to clear some of our previous un-found caches and some others as well.
I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these cache. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

Found the two with the clan saved from the straight line approach over the bank to the gentle walk down the track With it all signed up it was off for more rubbish and another cache along the counting trail TFTC thanks to the kids for the entertainment
#8130. We were in Ashhurst today attending the Community Celebration Event. While out doing a CITO around the domain we diverted down the track to locate this cache. Quite a spectacular grove of totara trees. Fortunately the cache was in the first place checked. We got muggled while signing the log but luckily our muggler was a fellow cacher attending the event! Replaced as found and then onto the track one more to get back for the celebration cake and some drinks. Thanks the Seagnoid for hiding it here.
This was one of the geocaches we targeted while walking around Ashhurst Domain while attending today's Community Celebration Event plus CITO, celebrating 20 years of geocaching.
The 'Taranaki Lads', Juty Bug, TaraTed and I, along with Etherlord and his Clan, wandered off in an anti-clockwise and this was the second geocache we came across. By the time the last of our group (me and two kids) arrived at GZ the rest had found this one, and the log was passed around to sign. TFTC All good here.

Stopped by while attending a 'walking CITO' event. The long fabled second container was quickly located and CITO'd, leaving behind the larger Russian-doll container instead which is in significantly better condition.
Not one, but two containers. The older one and its squishy log was dropped into our CITO bag during our walking tour around much of the Domain. Thanks for the cache.
Whilst on a CITO wander around this reserve, GSEL reminded me that this one was close by - so a short diversion was in order. Much less to CITO around here, it's obvious the ratbags can't be bothered to walk far... GSEL (as usual) did the Species Identification, and also found the cache. Now for the wander back to the others and the celebration. TFTC
Spent the night in Woodville on my way to Whanganui. Had the day to collect some local caches on route. Great walk through the bush. Confused by the two caches but one is clearly worse for wear inside so signed the other. Thanks
Thanks for getting me on this walk that I havent done in far too long!
Just love this place.
Was just about to look for a poking stick when I spotted the 2 containers.
The smaller one is worse for wear inside so opted for signing log in bigger one, which I'm assuming is a replacement for the smaller one?
Thanks

In the area collecting the Shield series and some of the Wildbore series. Needed to come to town for food, coffee and fuel. Enjoyed the walk to this cache - passed what looked to be a School Holiday program group also enjoying the area. TFTC

Excellent trail I would have never done without the cache. Signed both logs. TFTC
Found it after a search just using GPS, then decided to upgrade to make life easier...great app
(I apologize for the late log but the date is still accurate, time got away from me)
Found today with TwigNZ on our way to a CITO we were attending in Ashhurst. TwigNZ and I had no trouble locating the cache and signing the log. Thanks for the cache.

Finally found after a bit of searching. Signed sticky note, but a bit damp. Beautiful area. TFTC
Out for a walk with the Etherlord Kids along this native bush track. Snagged and tagged this one. Cheers
Wednesday - day nineteen - With The Seagnoid and Etherlord Clan on a maintenance trip around Palmerston North.
Its another epic 3+ week geocaching adventure with The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and William to the Far North. What an amazing place to explore. Lots of walks, gravel roads and sand. Lots of amazing trees, beaches and interesting POIs. Lots of kilometers traveled by vehicle and foot. Vehicle breakdowns, making new friends and catching up with old friends and family. Snagged a couple of FTF's, lots of lonely caches and the odd event along the way. Lots of cache maintenance and replaced caches on this trip. But what an incredible adventure!!. Thanks to all the CO's who have made this trip so memorable..

It's been quite a caching weekend for me. I was hosting a Geocaching event here in Palmerston North on Saturday evening, so came up on Friday after work to stay over with friends. They kindly put me up a second night too, which has allowed me to spend today getting out and about to clear up some caches I've not attempted before as part of a very leisurely journey back down south again.
I had visited Ashhurst Domain a couple of months ago, but hadn't had enough time back then to fully explore this park. Today I had all the time in the world as I parked up and started walking towards GZ through this very pleasant bush walk. Being a Sunday morning, the whole area was very quiet which allowed me plenty of opportunity to be able to search around GZ without having to be super stealthy and luckily for me this one was found quickly so it was a quick sign of the logbook, and then replaced exactly as discovered and I was then on my way to my next one.
Thank you for placing this cache, and bringing me to yet another place I haven't been to before.

Nice walk rock spotting with the kids. Paper to wet to sign, sorry had no replacement paper on me. TFTC
Found the cache but it was in the open and the contents spread out. Log book rotten. Replaced as best we could but will need co look.
Was up in Palmy this weekend and had the bikes, so we went for a ride along the river trail with allepousse. The weather just held off and it was a very pleasant ride.
Nice easy find here, and some very fine totara specimens.

SStopped by to ereplace the log and found the entire cache is in pristine condition. I wonder if I had replaced this cache some time ago and the last person found an old cache? I'll have to go back and have another look. Or maybe had they confussed this cache with another?
My first cache!! Done with my 2yr old daughter who thought it was awesome! It appears to have leaked and the book was mushy however.
Found on a club cycle ride from Plamerston to Bunnythorpe. What an iteresting area of lowland wet forest and the four totaras are magnificent. TFTC
First cache for us this afternoon. Pleasent walk to this, no-one else around. Cache was soon spotted, log a little damp.
Second time with this cache with another mob of kiddos. Nice find. Logbook a bit damp and fragile Thanks (again) for the cache
The totaras are magnificent! Co-ordinates were WAY off, but we took the inititive and found it in the end. Tftc
Day # 13 in New Zealand on a geocaching holiday-trip covering Thailand, Australia and finally my beloved NZ .
Made it from far and rainy South to the North Island. Today’s sunny and pleasant tour [^] took me further up north from Masterton to beautiful Ohakune [:X], close to Tongariro National Park .
Believe it or not : This is my third visit to this scenic area of the central North Island - but today was the first time I was able to see ‘HIM’: Mount Ruapehu [^].
During my last visits he had shyly hidden behind clouds [B)], mist and rain .
But today I could see him in full beauty [8]. How lucky I am !
Of course there were some cool treasures hidden along the route, that I loved to pick up .
Ended up with 23 finds , including two great earth-caches [^], a challenge and a multi-cache . Cool!
At this little box, the coords where about 10 m off [B)]. Fortunately I saw something white glimpsing from somewhere on the ground - gotcha!
Hey - owners on the way up north - you have cool caches [^] !
A big thanks [:X] to all Owners involved [^] for hiding and maintaining .
Cheers from Germany

Ah ha this one is now found, took this walk with a friend who had found it previously and discovered i had been looking in completely the wrong area - which is ridiculous because its in a very obvious spot, TFTC and hopefully my domain curse is over Pen in the container didn't work so well as long is a little damp so name was etched rather then signed into the log book.
Nice quick spontaneous find!
Unfortunately I forgot to bring a pen, and the cute little one refused to work on the slightly damp logbook

Grrrrrr I am beginning to think that Ashurst Domain Caches move when i'm looking for them, spent ages looking for these caches and gave up after looking for double the time i usually allow for looking for a cache, was only just about sprung the once, i guess i will be back !
A lovely walk after we set up the tent (& passed at least 10 "Ashhurst rocks" rocks) led us to the totaras and a quick find for Mr P. SL, TN, left an S for our search.
TFTC!

What a night! This was my first Earthquake! Our plan was heading to Wellington today - but now, we'll stay here and wait...

Finally got this cache today, dunno why I haven't been able to find it in the past. Lovely walk around the swamp and wetlands.
brisk walk through the bush to the GZ where it was an easy find just off the track. walked back to complete the loop. very pleasant. TFTC
Lovely big native trees situated in a truly generous area of native flora, reached after a pleasant walk downhill from the Domain. Enjoyed this one.
Once at GZ a straightforward find then ensued.
Cache in order; log signed, cache then safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

Quick find after an enjoyable walk! Log book is quite damp due to bag not being re closed but still signable. TFTC!
Our very first find, fortunately the name told us we were looking in the right spot.
It is becoming a bad habit for me that while I am signing, or about to return the cache a muggle passes by and I am left quietly standing in the bushes hoping they don't see me. The last three caches I have been lucky and they keep walking....see what happens on the next one!!
Frodo TB has been left in this cache, as it reminded him of home. TFTC

#7614. Teamed up with Yeetrees to do some caching on a sunny Sunday in Ashhurst. We parked off Napier Road and had a good wander through the Domain.
GZ was all quiet when we arrived. Yeetrees made the quick find. The cache was in reasonably good condition. Although the log book was a bit damp, it was all good to write on. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

Nipped over to Ashhurst to pick up caches along the river walk. Picked up this one on return to the car.
Well worth the walk. Had a coffee at the Wetlands Café which was a warm haven. She told us to venture down the track even though the roadway had been washed away. Luckily we heeded her as it was also sheltered from wind and rain.
Enjoyed the walk and saw the devastation on the river bank must have been lots of water good to find and sign this cache thanks
Great cache for kids to find. A bit damp inside but otherwise fine. Great to have accessible caches in nice spots.
No gullumphing on this one - good word that. Out on the MTBike to grab the riverbank series and any other handy caches I can find. This was the second in these parts. A quick look at GZ and had the cache in hand. Did the paperwork - TNLN and returned to its spot. Thanks for the placement the Seagnoid.
Really enjoyed the caches over this way - except for the two angry magpies who bombed me as I rode through their turf.

Followed on from Etherlords puzzle and enjoyed a lovely walk, found without too much trouble and left a coin we recently picked up tftc
Container is getting damp so the log book is as well, unfortunately didn't have a small bag to help.
