On a wander around Queenscliff with jo2022AUS, completing the adv lab as we go. Quick find here as the cache was visible when we sat down. Returned it to an out of sight spot. TFTC
We are spending a few days in Point Lonsdale for our Anniversary and today we have come into Queenscliff to have a look at caches around here. After spending some time on a WP of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, we headed into Queenscliff for more caches. This one was next and we sat and watched as a charter fishing boat took a boat load of happy people off on a fishing trip. Cache was located and signed and off we went ...... then we were back 5 mins later as GMelb had left his GPS here. By this time there were more people at GZ so he had to excuse himself to retrieve the GPS. "Forgot your phone?" was the question asked lol PS Log nearly full, he found a spot to sign, but it will need replacing soon. TFTC Phetlern - GJMMelb
Day out caching with buckoraider and toyhunters from CBRGood stop here after coming from a Dnf
A need for a walk despite the forecast of some showers in addition to an afternoon CITO saw me travel over the Westgate and down to Geelong as well as Queenscliffe for the purposes of a challenge I am mindful of and I suppose fitfully working towards.I can't say I am too enamoured of the freeway connecting Melbourne to Geelong - on the one hand it's flat as a tack and fairly boring. On the other hand one still needs to concentrate because the road surface undulates just enough for the need to keep one's focus. Mercifully it is an hour so over with reasonably quickly. My logs will include this standard blurb and then a comment or two about each cache separated from this blurb by a dividing line. Thanks to the COs for putting out various caches creating an incentive to visit some very picturesque spots.---This was the first cache of my (fairly short) walk. Although the satellite map was useless it was in the second place I looked. A fairly quick find.
Always find these little buggers hard to open, but we got there ! Good and convenient hidey hole, and muggles don't seem to get spooked too much if you're upside down. TFTC Phetlern. All good at GZ.
Road tripping to Adelaide for theLeap Day Mega, caching all the way and trying to fulfil various challenges. This cache-which challenge/why? need 12 per LGA for a challenge Busy place! Glad I don't blindly follow gps as it's a bit out atm, coords put me a metre out into the water!TFTC
Find number 12951 at 12:23:19pm on Friday the 23 February 2024Well, I'm on my way, here we come Adelaide. I have seven days to get there and I'm travelling via the wiggly geocaching road so I hope I've allowed enouth time Today I'm travelling down to Aireys Inlet via Little River, Geelong, Queenscliff, Moriac and Jan Juc. Found all my targets bar one so, not a bad start to the trip.Trying to fill a gap in a challenge "Eighty LGA's with twenty finds" (yep, you can blame Adriaan) so here I am in Queenscliff . All were in good condition and found quickly, a few people around this morning but everyrone is more interested in other stuff to worry about me. I'll have to bring the misses back if she every retires.**Thanks for placing this cache Phetlern**---Don't miss finishing the Ballarat GeoTour before it ends on 4th March 2024. While over this way visiting friends in Freshwater Creek had to get some caching done as well. This afternoon it was the G2Q (Geelong to Queenscliff) Rail Trail, had brought the Ebike along to assist. Drove over to the Queenscliff end, unloaded the bike and started looking and riding towards Geelong. Didn't get as far as hoped before it was time to return to the car to get back in time for dinner. Thoroughly enjoyed the variety of hides, some of which took longer than expected to find, and am looking forward to getting back sometime to complete the series. Thanks to Phetlern for adding this cache to this excellent series.Cache #14582 for me.*This log composed and published using GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife).*****SAs Leap Year Event GCA1DNA - keep the date free - 29th February 2024. Early morning walk before invading the Russian with some Geo friends nice calm peaceful morning. I found this cache along my stroll.
The logbook is very damp. Needs a new plastic bag. Didnt have anything small enough on us.
Today we found G2Q - Always on Watch on our travels. On an anniversary weekend away we popped here after dinner. The Chief made a quick find while I enjoyed the view and evening air. Logbook is quite damp which made signing tricky but we did our best. Thanks Phetlern for being part of our geocaching fun.
we're staying with some family friends up at their house just out of queenscliff. i planned to get more caches but when when you spend afew hours talking before and during you do anything, caching kind of runs out of your sight. two is enough for me not sure exactly what the security camera thought when i started unscrewing bolts and things.. but with my mother sitting down the thought came to me. "excuse me." i then had the cache in hand.got to go on our friends boat that they built! nice to be back in the area
Spontaneous Spring Victorian RoadtripDay Five: Morang to Ballarat via QueenscliffWeather: Perfect for geocaching. One of six caches that I found today along the Geelong to Queenscliff Rail Trail. A great trail here with plenty of variety and clever hides. I regret not having the time to do more, but I have to be in Ballarat tonight. There were a couple of scurvy looking deckhands doing some swabbing just on the other side of the fence here, but fortunately the cache was right where I expected it to be, so no frantic searching required. An easy one to end the trail. Thanks for the cache and the series Phetlern. Its officially a mega.GCA1DNA The Great Leap ForwardAdelaide, South Australia, February 29, 2024.Wed love to have your company.
Nice easy find but once again having no pen a photo is the order of the day. TFTC

Quick find in the logical place. Had to sit & admire the view until the nearby muggles moved on.
After that it was a quick reach down, grab, sign & return.

We are staying in the Geelong area for a few days for Holidays as part of our road trip from Canberra to Adelaide and back.
Today, we drove to Queenscliff to come and explore the coastline and read about some of the history here.
We had just watched a pilot boat from another area of Queenscliff in action, and then it was lovely to come and find this one hidden here!
Thanks Phetlern

After getting off the ferry on our way to Totquay we had to stop and bag a cache in the marina , we saw a huge stingray in the water

After a scorching day, I popped out late evening on the mtb. It was beautifully calm & quiet here tonight. A trio of my celtic cousins wandered along but noone else. I really enjoyed the peace & sat for quite a while soaking it up. Many thanks
We were holidaying in Queenscliff with the geobeagles. Even though it was drizzling we walked down to the marina from our nearby accommodation to complete the Port Phillip Sea Pilots Adventure Lab. After completing the Ad Lab we noticed this cache on our GPSr and seeing as the drizzle had eased we decided to look for it on our way back to where we were staying. It's always good caching in wet weather as GZ was muggle free. Thanks to the spot-on co-ords we found the cache in a typical type of hiding spot and signed the log at 3:20 pm. TNLN.
Thanks Phetlern for the well-hidden cache and for bringing us to a lovely location with wonderful harbour views.

I had come down to the Bellarine Peninsula to complete some more stages of some long-distance caches I am working on... and one of the things I needed to do was find at least one cache in either Queenscliffe or Point Lonsdale...
After finding a couple of caches at Point Lonsdale... and not finding a couple... I moved around to Queenscliffe hoping for more success. After a very late lunch beside the water, I wandered over to this cache for an easy find.
Thanks **Phetlern** for this cache.

T and M of iTEEM had the opportunity to spend a couple of days at Ocean Grove and braved the windy and slightly damp conditions to search out some local caches.
After lunch, and surveying the scene from the tower, we strolled along the marina to find this cache.
T made the find (I've still got the edge over the younger M ), and we were inspecting the pilot boats when one of them departed. What a manoeuvrable craft they are.

Harbour was very quiet today - got this one in the first place I looked! That never happens
Caching out Queenscliff with day1976. I had never been to this side of the bay before so it was a lovely change. Very nice area.
We both leaned in to search, I could see where day was looking and also could see the cache, but he couldnt so I told him where to put his hands

Enjoyed a day out with ilukaperi finding geocaches in Queenscliffe today. I had only ever found a handful of geocaches in Queenscliffe before, so that's why the location was chosen. Plus it was a good day as it had been 16 weeks since my last geocache find. So it was nice to be out again.
Was able to park reasonably close and walk in. Ilukaperi made the find quickly. TFTC!

CJDenno and I made our way down to the wharf to locate this container. Having noticed it was recently enabled, we were keen to add our details to the log. We quickly located this container, added our details and we left to grab something to eat for lunch. The cache, container and log are in excellent condition.

Having just completed a nearby Wherigo and traditional (unplanned high D/T), we decided to swing by and grab this one before departing Queenscliff and heading back around to the east side.
We soon had a sit down and rest after our last ordeal and contemplate any caches.
Sure enough, we found this one relatively quickly and fairly Muggle free given the weather change this afternoon.
The log was soon signed and we hot footed out and onto more adventures.
The cache, container and log having been recently replenished, is in excellent condition.
I visited 3 TB.

Day 2 of the Easter long weekend, and we set course for Queenscliff's G2Q cycle trail with our sister-in-law, our youngest and her friend in tow. Our Minion geocacher was onto it from 20 paces out from GZ. A quick snaffle before we were on our way again.
Just found this in my drafts folder, sorry for the late log.
Visiting Queenscliff while staying with a friend in Portarlington.

My last day on the road and I think the universe was ready for me to head home as the car started playing up and I found out my pocket queries didn't download correctly. Had to resort to using the phone which sucked and meant I only got 7 caches today.

So this is how the other half live! I would love to have a boat, but they seem like a lot of work and money. There is clearly a lot of money in this marina. So interesting watching the boats being hoisted up three stories into storage. Waited for a break in the busy pedestrian traffic and grabbed this cache to a fresh log. Thanks.
The GPS wasn’t having a lot of fun with this one so we had to use the process of elimination to find the hide. Few muggles about but had just enough time to retrieve the cache without being spotted. Great spot and TFTC.

Appears that cache has been interfered with - same hide, new location. New container being sourced.
