We are spending a few days in Point Lonsdale for our Anniversary and today we have come into Queenscliff to have a look at caches around here. After lunch we returned to the area to continue the caches along this side of the peninsula. It took a bit of a hunt and GMelb spotted the hide. TFTC Phetlern - GJMMelb

In town for a non-geocaching event, I took the opportunity to make a weekend of it, and find some caches in the area. Papi4506 & Geoturtle37 joined in with the fun. Despite the rather high winds, we got the e-scooters out to attempt a few caches along the rail trail. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, Phetlern ~~

A need for a walk despite the forecast of some showers in addition to an afternoon CITO saw me travel over the Westgate and down to Geelong as well as Queenscliffe for the purposes of a challenge I am mindful of and I suppose fitfully working towards.I can't say I am too enamoured of the freeway connecting Melbourne to Geelong - on the one hand it's flat as a tack and fairly boring. On the other hand one still needs to concentrate because the road surface undulates just enough for the need to keep one's focus. Mercifully it is an hour so over with reasonably quickly. My logs will include this standard blurb and then a comment or two about each cache separated from this blurb by a dividing line. Thanks to the COs for putting out various caches creating an incentive to visit some very picturesque spots.---I can't say why I wandered around for a bit before spotting the obvious bit of camo. The important thing is that the camo (and therefore cache) was spotted. Hidden at a lovely spot.

Glad I was riding the bike for this one as I had to crouch quite low under branches to access it.The cache was very exposed but there was a bit of bark there which I expect was meant to hide it so I put it in front of the container when I returned it.Thanks Phetlern.

While over this way visiting friends in Freshwater Creek had to get some caching done as well. This afternoon it was the G2Q (Geelong to Queenscliff) Rail Trail, had brought the Ebike along to assist. Drove over to the Queenscliff end, unloaded the bike and started looking and riding towards Geelong. Didn't get as far as hoped before it was time to return to the car to get back in time for dinner. Thoroughly enjoyed the variety of hides, some of which took longer than expected to find, and am looking forward to getting back sometime to complete the series. Thanks to Phetlern for adding this cache to this excellent series.Cache #14583 for me.*This log composed and published using GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife).*****SAs Leap Year Event GCA1DNA - keep the date free - 29th February 2024. Found a zip lock tie thinking it was cache evidence, but it wasn't. While I was waiting for muggle to pass, I was asked if i was bird watching?? Hmm, yep, something like that was my reply before ducking in to grab this cache.

Spontaneous Spring Victorian RoadtripDay Five: Morang to Ballarat via QueenscliffWeather: Perfect for geocaching. One of six caches that I found today along the Geelong to Queenscliff Rail Trail. A great trail here with plenty of variety and clever hides. I regret not having the time to do more, but I have to be in Ballarat tonight. Thanks for the cache and the series Phetlern. Another relatively easy one here, and nobody on the platform making life easier too. Down in Queenscliff for a weekend break with my family... and this morning we were off for a ride on the train. With plenty of time to spare, I took my grand daughter off looking for this cache. Easily found... especially with a small person available to go in for the recovery. My grand daughter was quite excite to find that there was a Trackable inside... which I took to take travelling further.

Thanks **Phetlern** for this cache and the series.

Nice easy one - it was visible from the trail. I pretended to take photos nearby while some walkers went past, made sure the coast was clear & grabbed it.

No bicycles with us today, however, we really enjoyed walking along the rail Trail. We have ridden quite a few of the rail trails in Victoria, but this one we did not know about in advance. How beautiful to have a rail Trail running by the water.

Back in the Queenscliff LGA because we didn't get enough geocaches in the area because the music festival stopped our plans. As such this time, we came early starting at 7.30 am.

Pleased that the empty train blocked any view of us from the people on the station. We were then able to quickly search and find it.

Thanks for the cache Phetlern

We were holidaying in Queenscliff with the geobeagles. Even though it was drizzling we walked down to the marina from our nearby accommodation to complete the Port Phillip Sea Pilots Adventure Lab. After completing the Ad Lab we decided to look for a few of these G2Q caches seeing as the drizzle had eased.

We found the G2Q cache at the marina and then continued along the trail to this cache, which was just behind where we were staying. As we approached GZ we spotted the cache as it was fully exposed. The Q Train had finished its journey today and was resting at the station so there were no muggles about. We retrieved the cache and signed the log at 3:50 pm. TNLN. We returned the cache to its hiding spot and covered it with some natural camo.

Thanks Phetlern for another G2Q cache. We enjoyed having a look at The Q Train and the cute station.

Having a house in Ocean Grove for a couple of days, of course we had to find some local caches.
With T & M of iTEEM now joined by I and one of the Es, it was decided to take a train ride this morning.
With tickets purchased, there was the opportunity to search for this nearby cache.
With the OK to cross the tracks from the train guard, I scuttled off to hunt.
It took a few minutes of poking about in the undergrowth before I discovered the container.
All in good condition.
Signed and reset, I skipped back across the tracks and was all aboard in good time.

Caching out Queenscliff with day1976. I had never been to this side of the bay before so it was a lovely change. Very nice area.
Day1976 thought he found it but he went around to be able to reach better, his was just a piece of rubbish, and I went straight there and actually found it.

28-Aug-22
Enjoyed a day out with ilukaperi finding geocaches in Queenscliffe today. I had only ever found a handful of geocaches in Queenscliffe before, so that's why the location was chosen. Plus it was a good day as it had been 16 weeks since my last geocache find. So it was nice to be out again.

Found while trying not to look too suss!

A pleasant afternoon of caching with suehut, and she was in top form. Out of 7 finds today for us, I found exactly zero, but oh boy I was cheering her on. This was straightforward I think, I could have made a real mess of it. Nice size container, one of those that rarely admits water. Nice to see the Q train alongside, years ago I used to sell tickets once a month for the railway, but they didn't have that superb blue train then. Thanks for maintaining this one.

On a road trip to Bellbrae (Torquay) and the Surf Coast and today we took a side trip to Queenscliffe. We parked near the road to Swan Island, and went for a short walk along the trail to our furthest point in case the heavens opened, and then picked up the three caches on our walk back. If it hadn't been for the threatening rain we would have walked further. They were working on the blue train behind us today and people were coming and going so we had to use stealth. The laundry van then turned up and parked right across in front of the door and blocked the door of the train from view so we were able to return the cache to its hiding spot without incident. TFTC and bringing us to this great walking track. We also visited 3 TB'S.

Day 2 of the Easter long weekend, and we set course for Queenscliff's G2Q cycle trail with our sister-in-law, our youngest and her friend in tow. A great day for fun in the sun. If we were in our home country (South Africa) a ride on the Blue Train would be an exceptional experience. Not sure the Q-train is the same experience??

Thanks heaps to the cache owners for hiding these caches along this trail!!

I stared my journey early in the morning from Queenscliff in hoping to get as far down the trail on my bike as I could before the rain started to set in. Ended up making it almost to Drysdale until I got my first few drops of rain, so I decided it was time to start heading back. Made it to the car just in time before the clouds opened up and the whole place was soaked within minutes!!. Phew! Lucky I gave up on some of those annoying micros, they do my head in!

Sorry about the generic copy and paste logs, but all caches were in good working order unless otherwise stated. Thanks again cache owners for the adventure!

We tried to find this cache when we had very little caching experience and didn't post a DNF; we were that green. Today we just missed the 11am ferry to Sorrento and had some time to kill. While close to the ferry, we decided to pick up the last two caches on the Bellarine Rail Trail. We parked the geomobile nearby and set off to look. Unlike our previous attempt to find it, this time, we found it and found it quite quickly. The cache is in a lovely spot, making it easier for the shorter amongst us to find. The cache is in excellent condition and was returned and covered in camo again. Thank you for this cache Phetlern.
