We are spending a few days in Point Lonsdale for our Anniversary and today we have come into Queenscliff to have a look at caches around here. After lunch we returned to the area to continue the caches along this side of the peninsula. We found the first G2Q cache but couldnt find this one after a bit of a hunt (and I accidentally caught my pants on a twig ripping a hole in them!! Which then became bigger after catching them on a drawer handle back at the holiday house, lol, whoops!!!) So anyway we walked on to the Bellarine #1 cache whilst sending a MAF to some geo-friends who were in New Zealand, and whilst we were at the Bellarine cache that help came through!! Thanks K&K! We walked back here and we spotted the appropriately camoed cache a bit further along from where we had been concentrating earlier. A tricky one which got us! Time to walk back to the car and head back to the Holiday House now! TFTC Phetlern - GJMMelb
Nearly gave up on this one but a little scuffing about revealed the cache. Cool hide. TFTC
In town for a non-geocaching event, I took the opportunity to make a weekend of it, and find some caches in the area. Papi4506 & Geoturtle37 joined in with the fun. Despite the rather high winds, we got the e-scooters out to attempt a few caches along the rail trail. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, Phetlern ~~
Had an idea of where to look and poked around for a bit without luck. A clue in a previous logs had us check something we'd passed over, and bingo! Great camo, tftc
Dnf 5 years ago Looked Thursday Looked Friday Came back , went away , came back , about to leave and spotted it from looking yesterday, dont need to be on track side , steam is bestReplaced logThanks for your hides and help in your other life. Duntulm
found it but couldnt sign it since i didnt bring anything to extract with, found it pretty fast thotftc??
Phew thought this was going to be a sad face! 20 minutes later turned it into a smiley face! I got one idea stuck in my mind and it was hard to move away from it. Glad I did in the end!!! Awesome cache! Found with FairyDust01 Thanks
Didn't take long to spot what we needed here.A very clever hide and yet another favourite point awarded here. Thanks Phetlern.
While over this way visiting friends in Freshwater Creek had to get some caching done as well. This afternoon it was the G2Q (Geelong to Queenscliff) Rail Trail, had brought the Ebike along to assist. Drove over to the Queenscliff end, unloaded the bike and started looking and riding towards Geelong. Didn't get as far as hoped before it was time to return to the car to get back in time for dinner. Thoroughly enjoyed the variety of hides, some of which took longer than expected to find, and am looking forward to getting back sometime to complete the series. Thanks to Phetlern for adding this cache to this excellent series.Cache #14584 for me.*This log composed and published using GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife).*****SAs Leap Year Event GCA1DNA - keep the date free - 29th February 2024. Cant wait!!****
Finally made a find in this series as I'm now 5 for 8 today. TFTC and I liked the camo
Found after a bit of hunting, nice cache. Had to squash atic on the cache so be careful if searching with your fury friends
Ok great find. Didn’t have a pen and if I took a photo of the cache it would make it a very easy find. This is a pic of the log. Great cache earns a fav. TFTC

Again, no luck within a tight time window here so I moved on. I read it can be tricky - it needed more than the five minutes I gave it.
Hello Phetlern thank you for the cache
A nice easy find.
This was one of many caches found on our way back home from Newcastle seeing our grand children.

Down in Queenscliff for a weekend break with my family... and after lunch it was time to start heading home... except for me! I had 8 more caches to find in Queenscliff so I could cross off the Borough for the WCW - The 80/20 Rule Challenge. With plenty of caches along the G2Q Rail Trail to choose from, I was back for more... this one had me puzzling for quite a while until I finally spotted something that looked a little out of place... sure enough, it was the cache.
Thanks **Phetlern** for the cache and the series.

Out and about in Queenscliff today, this was a cache that was a DNF for me 3 years ago. Today I walked straight up to it and found it in 5 seconds. Great little hide. TFTC
Continuing our walk, this was a great way to explore the coast on a flat Trail. We could see the land beginning to rise around us, and it was lovely to still be on the flat path by the water.

Not quite what I was expecting but great hide. Luckily had appropriate tool with me. Last find for day on a pleasant stroll from holiday rental. TFTC
#17242 - 1:21:00 PM; In Melbourne for a few days on family business and decided to head out to Queenscliffe to check out the sights and maybe collect a few caches to cross off another County/LGA from the 'to do' list. A convenient park and over to GZ where something worthy of further examination caught my eye and lo it was the cache! TFTC Phetlern
In Queenscliff to meet one E of iTEEM who had been to a wedding in Sorrento today and was returning on the last ferry.
This one took a minute or three, but soon my smile when I spotted it translated into a smiley on the map. Thankfully few muggles about, so a straightforward retrieve, sign, & reset. My trusty Leatherman multiTOTT extracted the log from the container.

In Queenscliff for 3 nights. My daughter's given me a very brief pass out. This wasn't what I was expecting at all - another challenge to my preconceived ideas. I should've learnt by now Many thanks
Very nice little hide. Phew! it’s quite warm out here today this is a lovely area.

Back in the Queenscliff LGA because we didn't get enough geocaches in the area because the music festival stopped our plans. As such this time, we came early starting at 7.30 am.
Signed this one at 8.40 am as the first along this trail this morning. I had parked nearby as the market had just started and then jumped the fences, and trail line while no one was looking. Pleased that this has hidden from view from the station by bushy trees.
Thanks for the cache Phetlern

In the area this morning for work so I had to collect a few smiley faces whilst I'm nearby.
Nice little hide on a very quiet rail trail

We were holidaying in Queenscliff with the geobeagles. Even though it was drizzling we walked down to the marina from our nearby accommodation to complete the Port Phillip Sea Pilots Adventure Lab. After completing the Ad Lab we decided to look for a few of these G2Q caches seeing as the drizzle had eased.
We found the G2Q cache near the railway station and then continued along the trail to this cache, which was near where we were staying. Thanks to the spot-on co-ords we found the cache after a brief search and signed the log at 4:10 pm. TNLN. We then hurried back to our accommodation before it started raining again.
Thanks Phetlern for the cleverly camo'd and well-hidden cache. We enjoyed today's walk along the trail and will be back to look for more caches in this fun series.

Out caching while on a weekend away in this beautiful part of the world. This one took a little while, but found it in the end - would not have had success without the hints and clues though.
Caching out Queenscliff with day1976. I had never been to this side of the bay before so it was a lovely change. Very nice area.
I found it this time. Accurate hide here.

Enjoyed a day out with ilukaperi finding geocaches in Queenscliffe today. I had only ever found a handful of geocaches in Queenscliffe before, so that's why the location was chosen. Plus it was a good day as it had been 16 weeks since my last geocache find. So it was nice to be out again.
Another quick find as the steam train went past, made me feel at home.

A nice example of deliberate confusion as to which side of the path to look. Easy to choose the harder option and then find you've been fooled. Suehut found it of course but I played my part and admired the container appropriately. Thanks.
On a road trip to Bellbrae (Torquay) and the Surf Coast and today we took a side trip to Queenscliffe. We parked near the road to Swan Island, and went for a short walk along the trail to our furthest point in case the heavens opened, and then picked up the three caches on our walk back. If it hadn't been for the threatening rain we would have walked further. It was Mr Pooky who spotted the well hidden cache with the container that was apt for its position. TFTC and bringing us to this great walking track. We also visited 3 TB'S.
Great cache holder!! Not quite a diamond yet but a fun find for the geo-kids. Very relevant for its surroundings.
Nice cache keeping with the theme of the trail. Left this as our last to find for today along the trail. Sun now out and got a real kick to it
Nice cache but the log is v difficult to retrieve, needed tott but was able to sign and replace, hopefully a little easier to get at for the next cacher.
Out with team tackt for a fantastic day, geo hubby found this one, replaced missing log, thanks
Thanks heaps to the cache owners for hiding these caches along this trail!!
I stared my journey early in the morning from Queenscliff in hoping to get as far down the trail on my bike as I could before the rain started to set in. Ended up making it almost to Drysdale until I got my first few drops of rain, so I decided it was time to start heading back. Made it to the car just in time before the clouds opened up and the whole place was soaked within minutes!!. Phew! Lucky I gave up on some of those annoying micros, they do my head in!
Sorry about the generic copy and paste logs, but all caches were in good working order unless otherwise stated. Thanks again cache owners for the adventure!

Find #4860. Found @ 11:44 with The Good Lady Wife
The family is on a mid-school holiday break since we can get away for this one, and chose the Queenscliff area to chill out (based on the current weather, that is literally as well as figuratively). Every break has to involve some caching so TGLW and I found a few caches while getting some exercise along the rail trail.
This was the first one of the day, and the one that took the longest to find (if you discount the DNFs). A great job on the camouflage combined with lots of muggles around walking, on bikes, and appreciating the steam train that was nearby made it a bit of a stop start search.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache Phetlern

We tried to find this cache when we had very little caching experience and didn't post a DNF; we were that green. Today we just missed the 11 am ferry to Sorrento and had some time to kill. While close to the ferry, we decided to pick up the last two caches on the Bellarine Rail Trail. We parked the geomobile nearby and set off to look. This is one luxurious cache. However, I fear that this comment may be lost on some younger cachers. A very clever hide and last time we were looking in all the wrong places. Thank you for this cache Phetlern.
Headed out on the Bellarine Rail Trail on our ebikes today, first one on the way back to Clifton Springs. TFTC
Such a clever clever hide, we are having a great day out with the clever cache hiders.

Out and about in Queenscliff today with the kids trying to clear off some unfinished caches. This one got me today, I went up and down on both sides with no luck, another one to go on the list.
Returned to have another go, this time with success. First time GPS had me 8M too far west. Reading previous logs about jumping the fence, well that depends on the direction of approach. I found the path side most rewarding. Anyway found the well camoed hide, signed the log and replaced as found. All in condition.
Thanks for the cache.
