I remember Queenscliff High fondly such a pretty setting.Cache is great - clever indeed
Apologies for the late log - semi retirement is busy!! lol We're staying in Point Lonsdale for a few days and today is our Anniversary With the weather predicted to be showery we thought we better set off reasonably early as it was currently fine and this was next on the agenda. On arrival JMelb spotted something that was very appropriate for our anniversary today (photo attached) The cache however was doing a good job of hiding until suddenly JMelb said I wonder .... and the cache was revealed. This one could have taken some time to locate but OHC found it nice and quickly. Thanks for the placing of this cache.
Geoturtle37, OzHockeyChick and myself are staying on the peninsula tonight. OHC needed to be in Geelong last night so GT37 and I headed down this morning to join her for some caching. We were pleased when OHC made short work of finding this one. A favourite for us.Thanks for placing this cache for all to enjoy.
In town for a non-geocaching event, I took the opportunity to make a weekend of it, and find some caches in the area. Papi4506 & Geoturtle37 joined in with the fun. Despite the rather high winds, we got the e-scooters out to attempt a few caches along the rail trail. A fav point here. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, Phetlern ~~
Wow this one nearly got us! Great cache! Thanks for the effort put in! Found with FairyDust01
Ohh wow that was a toughie! What a brilliantly designed cache. And such a beautiful place to come and watch a sunset, which Baristayan and I were fortunate to do after about 15 mins of searching here. Finally turned up the goods after changing our angle of approach. Thanks!PSJust your standard face in a tree Fav point from me.
Marvellous cache!Only able to touch this as I know is the camouflage for the cache, but Im not usually a friend of the real ones the hide is a T 1.5 which kept us searching the right places. Buckoraider made the find and we soon left this wonderful spot This cache was so cool and well deserving the hype.A favourite for me too
Made the most of our day off for ANZAC day. Out to Queenscliff to find a few caches. Most were nice easy finds only 2 DNF. TFTC
Round and round we went and in desperation we checked previous logs to see if there was anything in them to help. Nothing though!! Mr Beetle wanted to quit but I suggested 2 more minutes and in that short time this clever hide was finally found. Thanks for this nicely crafted, sneaky cache which definitely deserves a favourite point from us.
TFTC! 11 March 2024 3:51:03pm 7635 thanks to Phetlern for the cache! Thanks agai. Keeping us on our toes!
A sneaky little hide in plain sight, dead trees or not ! Mrs rhubarbroad's eagle eyes had this one in hand whilst I discounted a few close by structures. Another favourite from us, thanks Phetlern.
Find number 12945 at 11:43:22am on Friday the 23 February 2024Well, I'm on my way, here we come Adelaide. I have seven days to get there and I'm travelling via the wiggly geocaching road so I hope I've allowed enouth time Today I'm travelling down to Aireys Inlet via Little River, Geelong, Queenscliff, Moriac and Jan Juc. Found all my targets bar one so, not a bad start to the trip.Trying to fill a gap in a challenge "Eighty LGA's with twenty finds" (yep, you can blame Adriaan) so here I am in Queenscliff . All were in good condition and found quickly but this was a sneeky little one. I'll have to bring the misses back if she every retires.**Thanks for placing this cache Phetlern**---Don't miss finishing the Ballarat GeoTour before it ends on 4th March 2024. A list of the geocaches can be found [here](https://coord.info/BM9GWJ5). The final GeoTour Event is the [Farewell Ballarat GeoTour](https://coord.info/GCAFQ8B) on the 18th February 2024!You can also get prepared for the 2023 Victorian Cache of the Year Awards by checking out our preliminary lists [here](https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/information/great-caching-lists/).
Road tripping to the Adelaide Mega, caching all the way and trying to fulfil various challenges. This cache- why?helps various challenges could do at nightfavourite points new target COIt's now dark so I don't like being too far from the car on my own so this looked okay. Hunted high and low and there it was!Clue is now irrelevant as both look the same when I visited so some trimming must have happened. TFTC
While over this way visiting friends in Freshwater Creek had to get some caching done as well. This afternoon it was the G2Q (Geelong to Queenscliff) Rail Trail, had brought the Ebike along to assist. Drove over to the Queenscliff end, unloaded the bike and started looking and riding towards Geelong. Didn't get as far as hoped before it was time to return to the car to get back in time for dinner. Thoroughly enjoyed the variety of hides, some of which took longer than expected to find, and am looking forward to getting back sometime to complete the series. This one had me wandering in circles for quite a while before the find was finally made, nice work. Thanks to Phetlern for adding this cache to this excellent series.Cache #14587 for me.*This log composed and published using GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife).*****SAs Leap Year Event GCA1DNA - keep the date free - 29th February 2024. Cant wait!!****
I climbed, I perused, I put my finger in a lot of holes, then Jo2022AUS sings out "got it hunny" and there it was, another clever hide in this series. Jo2022AUS now has 999 caches so we head into Queenscliff with the anticipation of her reaching 1000. TFTC
On a roadtrip to great ocean road. Took a ferry from Sorrento to Queenscliff and stopped here on the way. TFTC!
Definitely deserves a favourite point for this one. So so clever! And to think, this was a topic of discussion today. TFTC now off to find my 1000th. I have my bottle of bubbles in the car ready to celebrate
Couple of Finnish vanlifers traveling around this beautiful Australia with Matilda the campervan. Stopping here and there to enjoy life without any plans. After getting everything set up and visiting some friends, Mntti1 and I began our travels few months ago. After visiting Melbourne we headed to Great Ocean road. Fresh from visiting Peninsula hotsprings we took the ferry over to this side and stopped here also. Fun little cache and luckily spotted pretty quickly! Thank you for the cache!
I searched for 10 minutes for this one but as I was on a time crunch waiting for the bus, I'm sure it's still there7 for 12 today...
Time to avenge my dnf of quite a few years ago while in the area.Started by doing what I did last time. Which clearly didnt end well then, and didnt end well now. With a few more years experience under my belt I stepped back, assessed the situation, assessed the D rating, and found the cache. One less blue sad face on the map!
Today we found G2Q - School's Out on our travels. The train went chuffing by while we were signing the log! Thanks Phetlern for being part of our geocaching fun.
Wow! Great hide, took me sometime to locate. Having a few days holiday in Queenscliff with muggle friend. Not a lot of geocaching happening but had to get a couple. Chose this one as easy parking nearby and thought would be quick but was not so much but well worth the time. A favourite from me. TFTC
Spontaneous Spring Victorian RoadtripDay Five: Morang to Ballarat via QueenscliffWeather: Perfect for geocaching. One of six caches that I found today along the Geelong to Queenscliff Rail Trail. A great trail here with plenty of variety and clever hides. I regret not having the time to do more, but I have to be in Ballarat tonight. Thanks for the cache and the series Phetlern. Favourite of the ones that I did. Something a bit different and unexpected here, nice work indeed. Its officially a mega.GCA1DNA The Great Leap ForwardAdelaide, South Australia, February 29, 2024.Wed love to have your company.
Great day for a walk, and I’m glad I kept walking a lil further. Another fave point coming your way for another great cache. TFTC Phetlern
We're in Queenscliff for a few nights. Getting close to a milestone so looked for a few special caches & found one here. What a fabulous hide. I loved it. Favourite point from me. Many thanks
Down in Queenscliff for a weekend break with my family... and after lunch it was time to start heading home... except for me! I had 8 more caches to find in Queenscliff so I could cross off the Borough for **WCW - The 80/20 Rule Challenge**. With plenty of caches along the *G2Q Rail Trail* to choose from, I was back for more... starting with this very clever hide.
Thanks **Phetlern** for the cache and the series.

Passed by and checked today. Found to be not in correct hiding spot for a DR3.5 and returned to correct location.

We were on our bike ride and just happened to stop right by this one when I removed my jacket so decided we might aswell find it. Made a quick find as it was making its escape on the ground. Have put it back where it may have come from.
Thanks for the cache

Love the camo. It is appropriate for the area. After narrowing our search we found it exposed. Just needed a minor adjustment. Thanks.
Very deserving of a fav point - first of this Camo type ive come across..and it took me awhile to find it, eventually my curiosity won the find.
Out on a Christmas break with sir_spectre, exploring southern Victoria grabbing lots of smilies, finding caches in LGA's and of course signing a few more challenges.
Thanks for placing this cache for us to find.
Thanks for placing this cache for us to find.
Stopped because this cache had a good number of fav points and trying to get a few caches in this LGA since it turns out i need 20 caches in every LGA for a challenge cache. quick find. I have seen this type of hide before up not for a few years.
Left with Mogni the day before Christmas to go down to Mount Gambier for Christmas Day. Then on the 27th left for Victoria. Plan A was to go to the Ottway Rangers, complete the Geo tour in Ballarat and then head to Geelong and take the Queenscliff ferry over to Sorrento then grabbing new LGA's on route to almost the New South Wales/Victoria border and the old 2001 cache near there. Also attending a community day event, a CITO and a couple of other events as well. Then head in to the high country and come back to SA in 11 days. Things didn't go to plan. Turns out that one of my almost new tyres was defective ( side wall blown out ) and blew in the ottway ranges on a narrow road in the rainforest, Drove to Melton to stay overnight and get a new tyre there, tyre machine broken and the other 5 tyre companies not open so off to geelong for a new tyre ( and some caches on the way and in geelong ) . The event we where going to attend in geelong didn't turn out, he was late by ALOT to his own event. Then to ballarat to same day since we had a b&b booked for the next few nights. Planned on getting the ferry at 1200 and ended up on the 400 pm ferry but we did attend a event and CITO in geelong. Then we drive into the rear end of a thunder storm with forecast 20 mm dropping for the next few days. Cancel the high country and change targets to letterbox D/T for fizzy grid only using letterboxes and same wirh the multi fizzy grid plus fizzy grid only using victorian caches plus any challenge caches we where near. Plus getting a few more victorian 2001 caches. And finally any caches that had 40 more more favourite points. Only got soaked to the bone for a couple of days but the water on the tracks was noticeable. On the return home tried to get the rest of the missing LGA's around the Melbourne CBD i missed in the last mega. Still a fun trip was had if not the planned one.

Excellent hide and worthy of a favourite. We would not have found it if it had not for you for some previous logs.

Caching out Queenscliff with day1976. I had never been to this side of the bay before so it was a lovely change. Very nice area.
We spent a long time here, and we were about ready to give up and move on, but day1976 had messaged the CO who got back to us right before we jumped back into the car.
Thanks to CO's assistance we found it. Was hidden under some natural materials I would not have otherwise moved.

Enjoyed a day out with ilukaperi finding geocaches in Queenscliffe today. I had only ever found a handful of geocaches in Queenscliffe before, so that's why the location was chosen. Plus it was a good day as it had been 16 weeks since my last geocache find. So it was nice to be out again.
Mam did this one have us going. We searched high and low, in and out, everywhere (well not everywhere, otherwise we would have found it). But we didn't.
So I shot the CO a message and we kept searching, still with no luck.
Just as we gave up and were getting back into the car did I get a reply with a hint.
BANG!, ilukaperi was on to it and had it in her hand in about a minute.
Very sneaky!

I'm Day 8 of my seven-day isolation period. I'm still feeling scratchy around the nose and throat, but SueHut has people coming over. I need to clear out, just in case. A no-contact Geocaching adventure in the offing!
This is not the first time I've been to this cache. Clearly, it won't be the last either. I've been stymied and stymied again. But rest assured, there will be a day... a great day... a glorious day of destymification!
Thanks heaps, Phetlern!

Find 500! A beautiful container for it as well . Thanks for the great series Phetlern - one day we will complete them all!
Thanks for the cache. I introduced 5 staff from the Cottage by the Sea to geaocaching as a camp activity. Yay. Great cache!
Very cute cache that took us a while. But we are fairly certain it wasn't in the right spot. FP from us
Too tricky today couldn’t figure out what the hint was referring to so makes it harder when you don’t know where to look
Wow,I think I remember the High school. We used to visit Queenscliffe as kids, then later in life I took up Scuba diving , the club being based in town. Many happy and exciting weekends spent here
This was my first cache of the day. Supposed to be what I thought a quick trail like previous ones from yesterday. It's not. Wait for a break in pedestrians traffic. This one took forever for me to spot. Well done on the hide. Won't be muggled in any great hurry. Saw the train go past. Tftc
Found the lovely hide after stopping across the road to cook dinner in our geovan
