Geoturtle37, OzHockeyChick and myself are staying on the peninsula tonight. OHC needed to be in Geelong last night so GT37 and I headed down this morning to join her for some caching. This one took longer than it probably should have. Thanks for placing this cache for all to enjoy.
In town for a non-geocaching event, I took the opportunity to make a weekend of it, and find some caches in the area. Papi4506 & Geoturtle37 joined in with the fun. Despite the rather high winds, we got the e-scooters out to attempt a few caches along the rail trail. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, Phetlern ~~
Having seen a few of this type in Melbourne, had a good idea where to find it. My wife snagged it pretty quickly. Very interesting building nearby as well, tftc
Found after about 15 minutes of head scratching. Very good cache not what I was expecting. TFTC
Staying in Geelong for last few days of my trip. Haven't cached this area very much.
Made the most of our day off for ANZAC day. Out to Queenscliff to find a few caches. Most were nice easy finds only 2 DNF. TFTC
A cache type that we have found quite a few times but never quite like this one. Mr Beetle made the find here. It looks like geocachers may be responsible for a bit of damage here. They were on the right track on what to look for though. Thanks Phetlern.
TFTC! 11 March 2024 3:43:04pm 7629 thanks to Phetlern for the cache! Another interesting find thanks!
Sneaky so and so ! You had us going here for a bit, but after going over our search area a second time, it was a Dooh ! moment.Nice work. Take a favourite !
After having a delayed arrival on the ferry, I was able to drop my caravan at a fellow cachers place so I could take a drive out to this little LGA to grab at least one cache to go towards a challenge Im working on, to find a cache in 200 LGAs!! Im getting there slowly. This cache could definitely be well hidden for some, but as I have found a couple similar to this I had the cache in hand reasonably quickly.TFTC PhetlernKeep smiling
While over this way visiting friends in Freshwater Creek had to get some caching done as well. This afternoon it was the G2Q (Geelong to Queenscliff) Rail Trail, had brought the Ebike along to assist. Drove over to the Queenscliff end, unloaded the bike and started looking and riding towards Geelong. Didn't get as far as hoped before it was time to return to the car to get back in time for dinner. Thoroughly enjoyed the variety of hides, some of which took longer than expected to find, and am looking forward to getting back sometime to complete the series. Thanks to Phetlern for adding this cache to this excellent series.Cache #14589 for me.*This log composed and published using GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife).*****SAs Leap Year Event GCA1DNA - keep the date free - 29th February 2024. Cant wait!!****
Twice Jo2022AUS yelled out "found it" only to quickly follow that up with "oh no, it's a can" She focussed on the bushes while I looked elsewhere. Process of elimination and I eventually had the clever cache in hand. Have seen a couple of this type before but still worth a favourite point. TFTC
Ive got it Tobes, no I havent and again Ive got it nope! Had my hand right on it but didnt even know. TFTC very clever!
We are down in Barwon Heads for a few days. JMelb was in the shops so I went to Queenscliff and found this cache on my way back. There was really only one place this could be. Nicely hidden. Thanks PhetlernGJMMelb
Found out on a birthday ride on the motorbikes. After a few minutes of searching it sprung to mind what l needed to be looking my for and bobs your uncle cache was in hand
Today we found G2Q - M&FWDC on our travels. A quick find in the only logical place! Thanks Phetlern for being part of our geocaching fun.
Spontaneous Spring Victorian RoadtripDay Five: Morang to Ballarat via QueenscliffWeather: Perfect for geocaching. One of six caches that I found today along the Geelong to Queenscliff Rail Trail. A great trail here with plenty of variety and clever hides. I regret not having the time to do more, but I have to be in Ballarat tonight. Thanks for the cache and the series Phetlern. This one had a first-to-find vibe to it, but alas no, just fresh maintenance. Its officially a mega.GCA1DNA The Great Leap ForwardAdelaide, South Australia, February 29, 2024.Wed love to have your company.
Another cool cache along this great rail trail. The steam train is running today, so I’m gonna sit and wait for it here. TFTC Phetlern
Outnabout for some solo caching. Very nice hide which earns a fav point from me. The log is full but I managed to find a little gap squeeze myself in. It’s always a great day for caching.

For anyone making Geo plans, do yourself a favour and visit Australia’s only current Geotour at Ballarat while it lasts: https://www.geocaching.com/play/geotours/ballarat-victoria
And for anyone that can travel to Longreach, Queensland, late September 2023, Google “QOGM” which is the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster. You’ll have at least 8 or 9 days of pure geocaching fun with around 200 like minded people attending a mix of events and access to over 200 geocaches placed by the QOGM team. It’s not a Mega, it’s better.

Day along the coast with, thankfully a nice quick find here again as it's getting late. TFTC
Down in Queenscliff for a weekend break with my family... after lunch we went for a stroll so that my grand daughter could find a few caches. This was the last cache for our stroll... my grand daughter found it first... but didn't realise it was a cache as it is a rather uncommon style of hide.
Thanks **Phetlern** for this cache and the series.

Over from NZ for a weeks holiday around Melbourne. Today our children had shouted us a round the bay sightseeing tour but it almost didn't go ahead due to very small numbers booked - like only us 2 .. !!
Luckily they put on a super small bus , ( actually an Audi Q2 small SUV .. !! ) so we ended up with our own private chauffeur, who was quite interested in my geocaching passion. This one had high FP's and as we would be driving right by, I asked our driver to make the slight detour. No worries, "I can do that for you" said our driver . Not many tour bus drivers would be doing that I imagine .. .. !!!
At GZ there wasn't many options for a hiding place, so I soon sussed out where it might be. Gets a FP from me too. TFTC

A nice cache. Just finished up a marine biology prac and knew I had a little bit of time before I had to catch the bus. Decided to tick this one off the list. Found after a short amount of searching once I saw the cache size. TFTC
Found it....while out on a scenic drive we stopped by this one. After starting to second guess myself, another search of the structure soon revealed the cache. TFTC Phetlern
I kind of quessed what I was looking for from a distance- these finds are always satisfying. Luckily after loosing so many pens over the last few days, today I actually found one and its waterproof so it sure did come in handy when signing the log.
Great Cache
Found this cache after going to Apple Isle Moot & Tassie on my trip home.
I’ve may have added one of my moot pathtags for the next person to find (physical locations that will fit a pathtag only)
Thanks Phetlern for the cache

#17238 - 11:38:00 AM; In Melbourne for a few days on family business and decided to head out to Queenscliffe to check out the sights and maybe collect a few caches to cross off another County/LGA from the 'to do' list. Stopped off for this one as we headed in to the town and despite my confidence about the likely GZ, it took quite a bit of hunting before I turned up the cache and could add my name to the log! TFTC Phetlern
I love this Marine Discover Centre. Been here a couple times with the kids. Very cool indeed putting your fingers under the abalone letting them nibble on you.
Had 20 minutes to kill before our session here so we lingered around trying to locate this one. I see a trend starting to happen where I almost give up looking and always it's my 8yo who then proclaims "Here it is Daddy". I think I'd be hopeless without him.
All the same, log happily signed.
Thankyou for the find Phetlern.

Off for a weekend holiday in the Bellarine Peninsula area. The plan is to do an "O" Parkrun and collect some geocaches in Queenscliff. That will almost complete our Parkrun Alphabet and give us another Geocaching LGA. That mission was completed today with these geocaches. Now for the next mission, collect more smiley faces.
Was unable to get to the next planned area, Fort Queenscliff because of the music festival. We knew it was on, but didn't expect that there would be absolutely no car parks to be found anywhere in town. As such parked down near this part of the rail trail.
Was onto this one straight away.
Thanks for the cache Phetlern

Caching out Queenscliff with day1976. I had never been to this side of the bay before so it was a lovely change. Very nice area.
Quick stop and find, I headed for the path first but my GPS was pointing me wrong and so I spun around and headed right for the obvious structure.

Enjoyed a day out with ilukaperi finding geocaches in Queenscliffe today. I had only ever found a handful of geocaches in Queenscliffe before, so that's why the location was chosen. Plus it was a good day as it had been 16 weeks since my last geocache find. So it was nice to be out again.
Ah yes, its along this trail.. No its not, its over here, right next to where I parked the car. Ilukaperi found it straight away with no hassles.

Having read a few of the previous logs I thought about all the interesting hiding techniques I’ve encountered but none helped me find this one today

On a road trip to Bellbrae (Torquay) and the Surf Coast and today we took a side trip to Queenscliffe. After walking a short section of the rail trail this morning and picking up three caches, we then had our lunch in the geo4WD due to the heavy rain. The rain eased and we attempted a couple more caches between the showers, this being the first. Initially the GPS had us looking in the wrong spot but once it settled down it was Mr Pooky who found this clever hide. TFTC and we also visited 3 TB'S.
Day 2 of the Easter long weekend, and we set course for Queenscliff's G2Q cycle trail with our sister-in-law, our youngest and her friend in tow. Great spot - we had a picnic lunch nearby at the deck (thanks to the Vic Fisheries Dept.) overlooking the bay and enjoyed a great day out with the fam.
Mmm...I think I know what this cache may be...but didn't see it. Hopefully I just missed it instead of it being missing.
In previous years, a thousand caches ago, I would have found this hard. I remember searching for half an hour for a similar hide once. Today, it was quick. We love going to the nearby marine centre, worth a visit, especially for kids. Tftc.
With the centre closed for a few days, made a quick grab a whole lot easier

I had a pretty good feeling what this may be and my hunch was correct. I've seen a few of these in my time.

Sneeky sneeky hide, i must be clumsy because i missed this one about three times. Nice little challenge
Very very sneaky - I think we all had a go at touching it before Kpatt17’s geo hubby found it - TFTC

With team tackt on a beautiful day it almost had times out when geo hubby found it, nice hide yhanks
Thanks heaps to the cache owners for hiding these caches along this trail!!
I stared my journey early in the morning from Queenscliff in hoping to get as far down the trail on my bike as I could before the rain started to set in. Ended up making it almost to Drysdale until I got my first few drops of rain, so I decided it was time to start heading back. Made it to the car just in time before the clouds opened up and the whole place was soaked within minutes!!. Phew! Lucky I gave up on some of those annoying micros, they do my head in!
Sorry about the generic copy and paste logs, but all caches were in good working order unless otherwise stated. Thanks again cache owners for the adventure!
I'm sure the cache is there somewhere, but somebodys 4 year old kid came flying down the hill at warp speed and come a gutzer right into the bushes, so the cache GZ was quite compromised as this was the location all the family stopped to clean up the mess and road kill. Next time!

Cache number 1 today and unfortunately no luck. GPS bouncing around. Will come back another day
Found at 4am while doing milk run in the area. It's a very clever hide and in really good condition. TFTC
It was a wild and wintry afternoon when we headed out to Queenscliff for caches and fish and chips. The geodogs are always calmer in the geomobile when we eat fish and chips at the Rip if they have had a bit of a run on the beach. Well, they had their run and a couple of dimmies, and we had our fish and chips. We then headed home and stopped off to pick this cache up on the way home. We have always bypassed this one due to there being plenty of cars in the car park. Tonight there were no cars parked there, so we popped in to have a look. The GGPS took us straight to GZ and we felt we knew how the cache would be hidden. We looked and were correct in our assumptions. This is a sneaky little hide, and it is in perfect condition. Thank you for this cache Phetlern.
Tricky but we made an assumption about what we were looking for and there it was.
For several months now we have been doing regular caching runs with Rebel Acts, but commitments put a stop to that for a while. We have come down to stay in Geelong for a week or two, and invited Rebel to come for a few nights so we could complete some of the numerous caches around here. As usual we have signed our Joint find logs RASH (Rebel Acts SKI Pair).
The weather started out miserable today so we decided to stick with as many caches as possible that we could get from the car. A few short trails helped with with the numbers, and we were very pleased to see a number of small and regular caches instead of the micro and nanos we often find doing trails. Well done to the Bellarine CO's, its great to find the bigger
containers.
