Time[hh:mm]Received message that indicates someone thought it would be good to dismantle the cache - only a day after the last 'Found' log!OOS until it can be checked out and restored.
Geoturtle37, OzHockeyChick and myself are staying on the peninsula tonight. OHC needed to be in Geelong last night so GT37 and I headed down this morning to join her for some caching. Almost needed to go for a swim which the cache certainly had. OHC eventually made the find. Thanks for placing this cache for all to enjoy.
In town for a non-geocaching event, I took the opportunity to make a weekend of it, and find some caches in the area. Papi4506 & Geoturtle37 joined in with the fun. Despite the rather high winds, we got the e-scooters out to attempt a few caches along the rail trail. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, Phetlern ~~
Tftc lovely creative hide last person or nature has left it exposed but none the less fav point from us found with trex
This stop was such a good idea!Just getting a few of this COs caches today got us the idea that we were in for some complex camouflage. And we were quite right about that! The efforts put in the construction of the cache allow it to go easily unnoticed by walkers passing by.Why not just hang a bison? I asked myself few times during my unsuccessful search But what we later on found was worth the waitBuckoraider seems to be in tune with this CO as he made the find again Favourite for me one more time
We almost walked away from this one! But then something caught my eye at the death, and soon enough Baristayan and I had another in hand.Pretty funky little spot this, think I need some more grip on my shoes And what a superbly designed cache, blending into the natural landscape and tucked away just out of sight. Or so it seemedThanks!
Came back from walking to the previous cache and the motorhome was locked and then I spotted Mr Beetle nearby looking for this cache. Took quite a while to find this one even though it was exactly what I suspected it would be. Did find part of the camouflage of this cache up near the parking area so returned it to where it should be and attached it, although it might need a check. Thanks and a favourite point from us for your effort here.
TFTC! 10 March 2024 7:52:57pm 7608 thanks to Phetlern for the cache! Thanks for the awesome cache. Targeted tonight for the highfavourites and didnt disappoint. Left a trackable.
While over this way visiting friends in Freshwater Creek had to get some caching done as well. This afternoon it was the G2Q (Geelong to Queenscliff) Rail Trail, had brought the Ebike along to assist. Drove over to the Queenscliff end, unloaded the bike and started looking and riding towards Geelong. Didn't get as far as hoped before it was time to return to the car to get back in time for dinner. Thoroughly enjoyed the variety of hides, some of which took longer than expected to find, and am looking forward to getting back sometime to complete the series.Nice camo job, log was a touch damp but not too bad. Thanks to Phetlern for adding this cache to this excellent series.Cache #14592 for me.*This log composed and published using GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife).*****SAs Leap Year Event GCA1DNA - keep the date free - 29th February 2024. I know it's there as co was out yesterday

Staying at the nearby Beacon Big 4, we decided to nab just one cache today, and we weren’t disappointed. Geowife made the discovery. Awesome cache. Another fave point coming your way. TFTC Phetlern
Found on our way home from the Great Victorian Cache Crawl. Fabulous cache. Favourite point from us.
Out for a day of caching by myself today out of the 13 I was chasing I found 9, 3 DNFs and one note as I wasn't going to get my feet wet. Last find of the day and it looks like I have left the best for last. Cache was exposed when I found it but it was impressive when it was back together. Adding another point. TFTC
This cache was on the list today due to the high amount of favourite points it has been given.
I parked at the nearby car park and took the very short work to GZ. The cache was spotted very easily due to it being out and exposed for all to see. I signed the log and replaced the cache back the way I believe it should have been.
Smart Camo
Thanks for the hide

It was starting to rain. Luckily the cache was located. All dry!! Thanks for fixing this one up.
Found on a trip to Mexico City from the town north of the border….

This took a little bit of looking but soon found the camouflaged cache, wonder if the water rises much here? Thanks Phetlern for placing this cache and contributing to this great game. Happy trails, Deanside
Cache back and ready for seekers. Be sure to look carefully, the cache log is there.
Maintenance check and everything is OK - cache was there waiting to be found (logbook and all), but cache removed for a bit of TLC to the cameo - back shortly.
We found a suspicious pile of rocks under a bush at GZ, but no hide visible.
Nonetheless…a beautiful place to visit.
Thanks Phetlern

Brilliant hide loved the Camo job. Located in approximately 10 minutes, TFTC SLTNLN...
I must not have looked hard enough inside container yesterday, but I am reliably informed log book is inside
Loved this cache hide. No log book or treasures in it, but I didn’t have a pen anyway!
As a family, we are holidaying on the Bellarine Peninsula for the week and I took the opportunity to grab a cache that had lots of favourites en route to collect my husband from Queenscliff. When I arrived I was delighted to discover it was one of Phetlern’s caches and got to work. I wasn’t disappointed.
Such a brilliant hide, deserving of a favourite from me. TFTC!!

Out on a Christmas break with sir_spectre, exploring southern Victoria grabbing lots of smilies, finding caches in LGA's and of course signing a few more challenges.
Thanks for placing this cache for us to find.
Thanks for placing this cache for us to find.
stopped because the number of fav points on this one and needed to find a cache in this LGA ( a new LGA for me and mogni ). The GPS bounced me around every where and didn't settle. Nice cammo work on the container, it blends in very well, mogni found the cache. fav point
Left with Mogni the day before Christmas to go down to Mount Gambier for Christmas Day. Then on the 27th left for Victoria. Plan A was to go to the Ottway Rangers, complete the Geo tour in Ballarat and then head to Geelong and take the Queenscliff ferry over to Sorrento then grabbing new LGA's on route to almost the New South Wales/Victoria border and the old 2001 cache near there. Also attending a community day event, a CITO and a couple of other events as well. Then head in to the high country and come back to SA in 11 days. Things didn't go to plan. Turns out that one of my almost new tyres was defective ( side wall blown out ) and blew in the ottway ranges on a narrow road in the rainforest, Drove to Melton to stay overnight and get a new tyre there, tyre machine broken and the other 5 tyre companies not open so off to geelong for a new tyre ( and some caches on the way and in geelong ) . The event we where going to attend in geelong didn't turn out, he was late by ALOT to his own event. Then to ballarat to same day since we had a b&b booked for the next few nights. Planned on getting the ferry at 1200 and ended up on the 400 pm ferry but we did attend a event and CITO in geelong. Then we drive into the rear end of a thunder storm with forecast 20 mm dropping for the next few days. Cancel the high country and change targets to letterbox D/T for fizzy grid only using letterboxes and same wirh the multi fizzy grid plus fizzy grid only using victorian caches plus any challenge caches we where near. Plus getting a few more victorian 2001 caches. And finally any caches that had 40 more more favourite points. Only got soaked to the bone for a couple of days but the water on the tracks was noticeable. On the return home tried to get the rest of the missing LGA's around the Melbourne CBD i missed in the last mega. Still a fun trip was had if not the planned one.

Many a prickle locating this one but it was worth persisting for - lots of slugs on the container but still worth it. tftc
Change of altitude and habitat is always interesting and rather nice. Peaceful early start to the day with local land carers just beyond chatting as they went about their work. Today I jumped at the chance to join the ever fun crustyvarmint later on with a plan and the tinny so arrived a tad earlier with trusty treadles to hunt down a few trads in Queenscliff. TFTC and the fun.
This cache was found today and brings our overall cache find tally to 12077.
A nice quick find whilst hunting down LGA’s today.
Thanks Phetlern for the cache.

Well, what a day. As I sit and type this, I look down upon several mosquito bites, a long, bloodied scratch on my leg and the aftershock of an actual electric shock. Have I been on a Commando course in the jungle? No, I’ve been caching along the Bellarine Rail Trail (amongst other places). Returning to the area after being locked out of the country for two years, it was great to finally reunite with Ketchthor to continue our occasional caching adventures in this part of the world. This is a generic log for all the caches that we found today. Setting off around 9 am, it soon became apparent that our expectation of a reasonably straightforward stroll through the Bellarine countryside was well off the mark. It became hot quite quickly; mosquitos were out in force, and there were a few hidden ‘natural’ surprises at a few cache sites. The worst was a lizard guarding a cache and refusing to move. We spent about four hours walking along the trail and then back along Knights Road to look for the ‘Do you Believe in…’ series. At one point, I managed to come into contact with an electric fence. It didn’t look like an electric fence, obviously – although I now realise that I don’t know what an electric fence looks like—what fun. Some of the GZs were waterlogged and prohibited access but we managed to find most of what we looked for. Despite the bites and scratches, it was a fun morning and as always, I'm really grateful to the cache owners for taking the time to design, place and maintain the caches. Thanks to all!!
aketch1 (from the UK) and I decided this weekend was the right time to continue tackling the G2Q series and a smattering of other Bellarine peninsula caches which we started in 2016.
Despite relatively cool temperatures for this time of year, the caching journey was quite the grind with the recent wet weather posing consistently thick vegetation, a mosquito paradise and the constant threat of dangerous creatures. Added to that was aketch1's electric fence zap, a stubborn lizard causing chaos at a GZ and a pack of chicken defending 'livestock guardian dogs' not too happy about the presence of geocachers.
Thanks to all the cache owners for placing and maintaining a variety of hides. It's much appreciated.
Right next to our car, this was the last find of the day and boy did we save the best til last. Thanks Phetlern for a fantastic hide, one of the best there is!

Caching out Queenscliff with day1976. I had never been to this side of the bay before so it was a lovely change. Very nice area.
First of the day, a tricky search, it had been a while since we had both been caching so we were a bit rusty.
I found it after a while, spotted something that didn't quite belong.
The area was a bit spiky. The flowers nearby smell really nice.

*The "Gotta Sorta Isolate, But Can't Stay In The House" Adventure #10*
I'm Day 8 of my seven-day isolation period. I'm still feeling scratchy around the nose and throat, but SueHut has people coming over. I need to clear out, just in case. A no-contact Geocaching adventure in the offing!
Definitely not a wasteland... when it's got at least four caches in it!
Thanks heaps, Phetlern!

Same type of hide re-positioned to new spot. All good to go. Whilst cache is classified as 'Small', due to the marine environment, swaps, trackables etc., are not encouraged.
Land redevelopment and wetland redesign likely to continue through to end of April.
Looks like a long term works going on here - there is now a single lane road diversion and traffic lights.
Will check again in another two months - September.
Will check again in another two months - September.
Cache is gone, as is GZ itself. Attached is a photo - cache is supposedly 5m that way, which is now water
Thanks for the advice 'monch's mob ' - we will look into it and consider a new site. Certainly not going to Archive though!
**Footnote:** Site inspection reveals cache site is decimated - new cache location will be available once works are completed - approx 2 months time.

Gotcha
It gives me great satisfaction when I find one of Phetlern’s caches.
Last year I tried three times with no success, this year just a little hunt before I discovered it (funny about that)
How many times have you heard that.
I must agree the grasses and trees are prickly, so I went dressed accordingly, long sleeves and jeans.
I could make lots of comments but the hunt is what counts, so MUMS the word.
Thanks Phetlern for a wonderful hide. Gotta get a FAV from me.
PS; cache in good condition

This section of the Bellarine Rail Trail is relatively isolated, and this meant we were able to let the geodogs roam a little as we were looking for caches. This one took us quite a while, and we weren't helped by the phone's GPS jumping around all over the place (It seems to behave like this more when it is overcast). Some of the plants in the area are less than friendly, which made checking some potential hiding places a bit uncomfortable. We persisted, and our persistence paid off as we eventually had the cache in hand, which we signed and returned to its site. As you can see from the photo, even overcast weather can provide stunning views. Thank you Phetlern for this cache.
No luck which is a shame considering that this cache has a lot of favs. Any hints? TFTC
Well thus one lead me on a merry dance and in many circles, finally something caught my eye, thank goodness otherwise who knows how long I would have been here!! very happy to add a smile to this one. Great camo. Many thanks for the cache.
Had a bit of trouble with this cache a few years ago. Today it was a pretty quick find.

#3848 Well we have now made a start on this powertrail by completing this cache . We had a scratch around for a while until Mrs BGF spotted something worth interrogating further and voila the cache was revealed. A nice creative hide here. Emptied water out of the cache but otherwise in ok condition. TFTC Phetlern.
Making our way back to Melbourne from Queenscliff Music Festival and decided to collect some caches and let the traffic settle down. Something didn’t quite look the same and bam the cache was in hand. TFTC
Since the day we booked the air tickets for our current geocaching holiday to Australia we had been looking forward to hiking and geocaching the Bellarine Rail Trail. We finally arrived in the area last night and so this morning we parked up in Drysdale and hiked to Queenscliffe then took a taxi back to Drysdale at the end of the day (the following day we started in Geelong and hiked to Drysdale to complete the trail). We throughly enjoyed the hike in some truly lovely Australian weather and of course we also found many geocaches, and so many thanks to the COs for having provided us with the opportunity to have enjoyed yet another great day out geocaching! It didn’t take too long to home in on and locate this very nicely hidden cache. We signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cache and a favourite point awarded for the very nice hide. Greetings from Zimbabwe

Today Family Perpetuallylost continued with some more caching around Barwon Heads then heading clockwise around the peninsula finishing up at Portarlington where the Celtic festival was in full swing.
After a reconnaissance run to the nearby letterbox cache and realising it was just a bit far out for attempting so late in the day, i convinced Mrs Perpetuallylost to stop the car one last time to make this the last find for both today and the weekend.
Glad i did as this one was a beauty, spot on coords and clever camo! Hope the nearby construction works won't affect it in future. Thx Phetlern for ripper cache.

I was meeting up nearby with the CO of a cache but arrived early, so backtracked to have a look at this one. While still looking, the said CO drove past, so I hurriedly abandoned my search to join him on our quest.
On our return, the whole group (of four) joined the search and the cache was found in a place and manner I hadn't considered. Thanks for a well hidden cache. It gets a favourite from me.

2nd time here Phetlern. One would think that after finding it once, it would be a cinch. But no. I remembered exactly what I was looking for but like the last time, was convinced it was entirely in the wrong place. Ouch. The grasses at and near GZ are spiky. Jimmytherat with Noelle04.
