Geoturtle37, OzHockeyChick and myself are staying on the peninsula tonight. OHC needed to be in Geelong last night so GT37 and I headed down this morning to join her for some caching. This cache nearly didn't exist. Spotted just in time. Thanks for placing this cache for all to enjoy.
In town for a non-geocaching event, I took the opportunity to make a weekend of it, and find some caches in the area. Papi4506 & Geoturtle37 joined in with the fun. Despite the rather high winds, we got the e-scooters out to attempt a few caches along the rail trail. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, Phetlern ~~
Trekked out on a clear sunny day, was a relatively quick find but can understand the previous DNFs, great cache spot. TFTC
While over this way visiting friends in Freshwater Creek had to get some caching done as well. This afternoon it was the G2Q (Geelong to Queenscliff) Rail Trail, had brought the Ebike along to assist. Drove over to the Queenscliff end, unloaded the bike and started looking and riding towards Geelong. Didn't get as far as hoped before it was time to return to the car to get back in time for dinner. Thoroughly enjoyed the variety of hides, some of which took longer than expected to find, and am looking forward to getting back sometime to complete the series.Spent a while looking but the previous DNFs possibly ended the search too soon. My device can't have been up to date as it didn't have the recent CO maintenance on it. I'm hoping it was cache blindness on my behalf and cache is available to be found. Thanks for the hunt Phetlern*This log composed and published using GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife).*****SAs Leap Year Event GCA1DNA - keep the date free - 29th February 2024. 14:30Checked on cache today. Found it lying a short distance from where it should be. Replaced log and returned to correct location.
Out for a day of caching by myself today out of the 13 I was chasing I found 9, 3 DNFs and one note as I wasn't going to get my feet wet. No luck on this one today, another one for the watchlist.
I was heading to the dinner in Queenscliff, but came early to do some shopping and caching. This was a nice quick find, but only because of the way the previous finder left the cache visible.
Thanks to Phetlern for the cache.

Toot toot. There was really a train!!

Headed to Ocean Grove for a night , staying at SILS caravan , great base to get out and find caches whilst the weather is kind. Thanks Phetlern for placing this cache and contributing to this great game. Happy trails, Deanside
Always a good day when out caching and finding them.
Thanks for the cache Phetlern

Day out along the coast to add some smileys to the map. A lot of mozzies around and once we changed our search tactics we were signing the log. TFTC
Spoted cache after opening my eyes and not looking for the obvious regret forgetting to put the repellent on these mosquito's are vicious.
Thanks for the water warning - we have disabled the cache until the ground is dry.
aketch1 (from the UK) and I decided this weekend was the right time to continue tackling the G2Q series and a smattering of other Bellarine peninsula caches which we started in 2016.
Despite relatively cool temperatures for this time of year, the caching journey was quite the grind with the recent wet weather posing consistently thick vegetation, a mosquito paradise and the constant threat of dangerous creatures. Added to that was aketch1's electric fence zap, a stubborn lizard causing chaos at a GZ and a pack of chicken defending 'livestock guardian dogs' not too happy about the presence of geocachers.
Thanks to all the cache owners for placing and maintaining a variety of hides. It's much appreciated.
Unfortunately, GZ was flooded here so we couldn't attempt this one. Hopefully all is well with the cache.

A sneaky hide but one that we fortunately spotted fairly quickly. Not many muggles around today despite the Easter long weekend. TFTC.
Mr H keeps making quick work of his as we are rotating who finds them so someone can stay with our stuff! Loving this trail! Thanks for placing and maintaining these caches
Managed to to grab a couple more of the G2Q Series a little while back. Thanks again Phetlen.
On my way to pick up my 1000th cache today. This was 997.
Spent a bit of time wandering around here, read some logs, and no hint….gah….only the name. Turned my attention to something that made me think and there it was. Really don’t like these fellas, but was able to extract the log TOTTless, completed duties and replaced!

Found on the ground after a long search . Not sure if that is where it's supposed to be.
Very hard if you have looked at the ones around it you see they say micro but they are quite big but this one is really micro
Out and about on a nyochi and merkin of loki adventure, off to tackle many finds in a day by bike before the potential lockdown of melbourne happens :3
All the ladies getting their seed on today
All the ladies getting their seed on today
Eventually located this. The container had fallen out of its hide when i picked it up. All good. 9th find of the day.
Thought this one was going to be more tricky than it was. We did it after our bike ride and I car was nearby. Thanks for the cache. The lid is missing and the waterproof paper was wet.
An enjoyable experience finding this one. The grass around seemed to have been mowed, so wandering around in our usual aimless manner for 5 minutes or so was not dangerous, and allowed us to concentrate on getting close to gz. That achieved, it was then a case of look for something different, and we managed that soon enough. A signature, and we had found 3 out of 3 on a day in which we had not really intended to go caching. Thanks for hiding this one and for doing the maintenance.
Wow, the rain has been heavy today. Stopped for long enough for us to find this ingenious cache. The end cap has come off which has allowed some water to get to the log. Dried the log off in the car and replaced cache so as to minimise water damage. I love it when the cache is imaginative and makes you look very carefully, and this one fits that bill beautifully so a favourite point from us. When I got back to the car, my jeans were soaked, so off home to change and a hot cup of tea. #104
Could not find it! I probably went at the wrong time though, spent a half hour looking at 7.30-8pm. Will try again during the day next time!
Part luck, part thanks to previous logs. Cache had actually fallen out of it's hiding place. It's back in there now. Log was ever so slightly damp. I came straight across from the gate on the Yarram Creek caches. Bad move, very swampy.
Well camouflaged, I noticed it immediately but didn't twig that it was the cache until i looked at logs. Fortunately was able to extract without tweezers.
I then spent 10 minutes hunting through the long grass for the GPSr I somehow managed to drop :/

20 Minutes spent looking, lots of little bugs but no cache . Alas, we will try again another time
Great day for a long bike ride. Really enjoyed these cache hides along the trails.some hard and some harder. Well hidden and simple.
Thanks for your efforts in placing these for us to look for.

Travelled to Geelong today for the Christmas series on events and to also revisit a few of my past DNF's to correct their status.
DNF #3 addressed! Had to move around a little to get the iPhone to settle down on a location but the object was spotted pretty quickly after that. Looking at it know I can see why we had problems finding it last time.
**Thanks for placing this cache Phetlern**

Since the day we booked the air tickets for our current geocaching holiday to Australia we had been looking forward to hiking and geocaching the Bellarine Rail Trail. We finally arrived in the area last night and so this morning we parked up in Drysdale and hiked to Queenscliffe then took a taxi back to Drysdale at the end of the day (the following day we started in Geelong and hiked to Drysdale to complete the trail). We throughly enjoyed the hike in some truly lovely Australian weather and of course we also found many geocaches, and so many thanks to the COs for having provided us with the opportunity to have enjoyed yet another great day out geocaching! It didn’t take long to home in on and locate this one once at Ground Zero. We signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the nicely hidden cache and greetings from Zimbabwe
Very tricky find. Not sure it was in the right spot. There has been a lot of wind lately

This log is to tidy up a mess I made with GSAK . I forgot to apply the template so my finds were published with a nonsensical log.
Rather than try and edit all the logs I post this not with what the log should have been.
My apologies for the confusion caused.
A few days away with Freddo, e.gregory1 and The White Dog Gang.
Fun was had by all. Not too many dnfs
Most logs signed as FETT.
Thanks for all the caches.

Found with Freddo, Team Waldron and thewhitedoggang on a short, post-Christmas sojourn to Victoria that involved plenty of driving, cycling, walking and even some boating and wading.
The weather was on our side (albeit a little warm at times), which made for some great caching. There were plenty of varied finds, with some excellent and often tricky hides and and just a few DNFs. We signed most logbooks ‘F.E.T.T.’
Thanks Phetlern for the cache.

Another container we often use - very handy for small caches. Again once we saw something familiar it was a quick extraction. Thanks Phetlern. &
In the area to explore by geocaching .
Have been picking bits and pieces of this trail .
Many more to find .
Lovely area to visit .
Thankyou for your contribution Phetlern

Good camo.
Our first visit to Victoria so we thought we'd head to the Bellarine rail track for a caching bonanza. Had a great day with 56 finds; quite a few dnfs as we rigidly applied Draper's rule which says "no ......... shilly-shallying!"
Used (hired) electric bikes, a first for us, and can only describe them as like cruising on a Harley; virtually no energy expended, and so easy to use.
Only downside was that it was a tad chilly. Only 16 degrees when we got back to the car whereas at home in sunny Serre Chevalier at 1400m today was 21 degrees!
Many thanks to all the local placers and apologies for the generic log, but time is precious and the Great Ocean road beckons.

lid might need cammo to make it a bit more tricky but great and signed. By the way two warm days after the wet winter has unleashed the mossies ..They were on the prowl !
Out and about with Bogonghazy to try and reach the 5000 milestone. A quick find as I spotted something not quite right. Thanks Peter and Helen.

Found by Mary & David, in company with GeoJo, at 1615. Most enjoyable having her company. Home later tonight after two great days around Colac. Found this one quite quickly this afternoon, after a DNF here almost two years ago. Cache still in good condition. Our thanks to Phetlern.
On our weekend to Queenscliffe with our new bikes we chose this track to ride on the nicer days of the cold rough weather. The posts for these will be generic sorry but only 2nd time riding and caching - a little harder to manage. I will say that we had alot of fun and enjoyed the various cammo. We also got to see the old train go by and will earmark the rest of the trail on return to the area. Tyftc
Grub62 and I decided to do some caches in the area so I could finish the world turtle souvenir also getting 1000 cache logs for myself. This was a well made and clever cache. TFTC.
An important day of caching - hope to get my 150th find, Bunadoorians World Turtle and his 1000th find - so we started on the Shepherd's Road Treasure series then onto Do You Believe In series both by deshut and suehut. Then finishing in Queenscliff at 360degrees. #29 of 30 today . Picking up this cache because we had a DNF in the Shephard's Road Treasure series. That is just sneaky- but loved it. TFTC Phetlern!

Hi again, Phetlern! I'm still chipping away at it. About 66 logs ago, I started a story about that place north of Tullamarine. The second part of the story is, although it was late October and started off brilliantly sunny and warm...
Thanks heaps, Phetlern!

With the goal of reaching 3000 finds at our event in Melba Gully, with the glow worms tomorrow, I was out today needing 30 odd caches so that could happen.
After doing the last section of the trail on foot it was nice change for some drive by's and a change to rest my feet for a bit.
A nice little hide here that when I approached from the right direction stood out as if to say hello.
Thank you Phetlern for the good work here

On what started out as a cloudy threatening sky, ended with a perfect caching day.
This will be generic, so apologies in advance. Thank you to all the CO's for their hard work and maintenance. We will keep you posted if we find any issues and/or anything of interest. Us geriatrics need some motivation to get out there and combine with some pedals is fantastic.
Special thanks to Phetlern for their thought and ingenuity. Always amazed with some of yours.
