Thanks. Great view from here. It as well say to spot the cache from the top. Regards from Byford, Perth.
My partner and I are spending a few days in Esperance on our way to Mandurah for a wedding. I thought Id come along to find this one. When I looked up at where I thought GZ was, I wasnt quite so sure about climbing the hill. It actually turned out easier than I thought. Unfortunately the gate was closed with a sign saying the footpath was closed. I think this is due to vandalism at the top, where the seat is broken. Luckily that didnt stop me heading up for a look and I can happily log a smiley for this one.
#5677 Found this cache while completing the local tourist drive. Looks like a pretty intense fire went through here not so long ago. Green grass has returned however the shrubs have been cooked. Great views from gz however. Cache found on its way rolling down the hill but has been rescued and secured with some rocks again. TFTC.
WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 21 - Esperance Day. Today turned out to be a long day, with lots of caching and lots of chores to do all over town. When it came to caching, I found myself doing several short walks, but found quite a few great headlands and interesting rock formations. The air temperature was down, but it was hot out in the sun. I ended my day with a drink in a bar overlooking the bay on the esplanade. I'm off further around to the west tomorrow, hopefully another county as well. This was nice solid little walk. The trail is still marked as closed, but, well, there is a cache, so up I went. The cache was fine and I was soon on my way down after admiring the stunning views. Of course a council truck had just started along the main trail. They did not say anything and I headed down to the beach to have a look at the roots. Thanks for the cache ESHS Bush Rangers46788.13 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & Wangaratta Event Purple Eartag A#525**Albida**
A stunning view from the top, and a blue sky and Aqua water in the distance. This area is absolutely superb.Officially, the pathway is not open at the moment due to some nasty vandalism of the table and chairs at the top, but given we were not seeking to sit down on the chairs, we decided to sneak around the side and stay away from the pathway. Log signed. Photos taken of the great view and then back down to road level once again. Thanks ESHS Bush Rangers for showing us this beautiful location. Domsky
Ciao e grazie. #10817Last day in Esperance, tomorrow we head west. Since BA is busy for a few hours I take this opportunity to clean up the surroundings and dye the last little faces of this quiet town yellow. This is the second. I park along the road and walk along the dirt road. Once you reach the detour where the path leads to the top of the hill, a sign indicates that you cannot pass due, I think, to the fire that devastated the area last May and the entire area is subject to reforestation. I delicately break the law and arrive at the GZ, being careful not to step on anything. I immediately find the SpudBex replacement, sign the logbook and retrace my steps. Hello and thanks. #10817
Replaced cache container added some swaps and new log pleas4 cover with rocks to save containerfrom sun. Ducked under the footpath sign and climbed the path to the hill top.
What a beautiful view today as the sea is really rough and its sunny. Found it easily bit unfortunately the container got cooked in the recent fire so I couldn't sign the log. A new container will be needed. Tftc
Thank you! Day 5 of my road trip to Esperance and back. Happy to make the find. Thanks for bringing me here.
Dried out the soggy logs and put them in the plastic bag!
The container is damaged and will leak until replaced.

Lovely stretch of the legs and cardiovascular system walking up here but great views on a sunny day. Cache has cracked and the contents are a little damp. Dried it out at the table then signed the log.
Found it quickly in the bush but logs are wet. Replaced it where I thought it should be. Tftc
Nice easy find after a brisk uphill trot. BOM says it feels like 6 degrees - completely agree! TFTC!
We trekked up the hill to the lookout. What a view. The cache was found quickly and easily. The Esperance coastline is so beautiful
Nav took me wrong direction then tried again and geohubby found. Nice ride worth doing
Early morning caching in Esperance. Quick find with a nice little walk and view.
Thanks for the hide

Drizzly and cool day but we ventured out to grab a few caches nearby. Thanks ESHS Bush Rangers
This is worth the few minute stroll just for the view, great spot that geocaching has brought us to, TFTC & fav!
Very glad of a seat at the top of the hill. Not a good climb for asthmatics but however found cache, signed and returned. Worth the post card view at the top!!
Worth the treck up the hill. Tftc. Probably would have driven straight past otherwise
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for us to find. Container and log in good condition. We were ahoy to have a seat to sit and enjoy the view
Found at 9pm at night by torch light, so the best view I had was a magnificent array of stars, so mb e of which you don't see very often. Not much light out here. TFTC.
Made it to the too and had a quick find relatively. We weren't leaving until we had it signed anyway. Great views but quite climb for us seniors. Tftc

My GPS had my further over climbing thru the bushes. Lucky I checked someone else's log before I left empty handed(as it were). Found, logged and loved the views. TFTC
I don't want to kow what a D5/T5 cache is from you.
Usually a D1,5/T1,5 is a quick stopp and grab.
After the short hike, we climbed the hill and went into the bush to look for a cache with many possible hiding spots.
We got it, but this one should be changed to a D3/T3.
Anyway, TFTC and greetings from Austria

A short walk yes but the terrain should be higher because you had to go up and in the bushes.

Such a spectacular view and never would have seen it if we went looking for this geocache! Thank you!
We are at the start of our 5week holiday travelling to the coast to enjoy the sunshine and water. Along our travels we made a few stops to explore the area and grab a few caches . Great view from gz, I wouldn’t have come here if there was not a cache so thank you for placing and bringing me here.
In espie for a work trip. Making the most of my day off.
Spectacular view from here! Though I'd probably guess more like 2.5 for terrain, particularly the scrub bashing at the top.
Thank you

What a shocker morning it has been. Had no sleep last night after nursing a few injuries (after tripping up the stairs at the Foreshore last night). Also discovered a slow leak in the car tyre, which was beginning to bald the outside edge, so I got that replaced this morning too. However, after that, things began to run a bit smoother and I picked up the last of the caches in Esperance, ahead of my return to Perth tomorrow.
Had to wait for some muggles to move off before I could head in to search. This was a quick find due to the pin point accurate coordinates - thank you for that! [^] I did actually pick up what I believe may have been two ticks here, which I brushed away promptly before they set in. The cache was in need of a new log, so I put in a new log inside a ziplock bag with a cache note.
Cheers ESHS Bush Rangers!

Well done bushrangers, a nice location, well worth motivating us to climb up here. And a great bench to sit at and recover. Cache will need airing occasionally as it seemed a bit damp.
Travelling Australia since March 2014 now we are making our way west for a visit with family.
Wow such a gloomy overcast and windy day, and yet what did we decide to do today. Go caching of course. [:o)]
