Smile Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I live full-time in our caravan travelling around NZ, visiting the places we want to visit & doing the things we want to do and fitting in a bit of Geocaching here & there we decided wed move on to the Omarama area & stay somewhere local thought wed go for a drive out to the Lindis Pass this morning & check out some of the local caches I suppose, at times, this can be a lonely roadside stop, but not today, vehicles coming & going, but nobody really interested in what we were doing it was just a case of picking the right times to both retrieve & then return the cache Mrs McMike2012 loved this hide & thought it deserved a Favourite Point, so here it is ended up being quick and easy find, logbook signed & cache returned as found were also pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally TFTC ... TN except photos:LN:LS this was #6,584 for us!

Day 9: Across the Lindis PassThe route for today brought us back to close the big loop of our Southern journey by passing through Omarama and the Lindis Pass and back into Cromwell where we stayed the night. This would be my first trip across the Pass and we found many caches along the way, including the highlight of the day at the Bendigo Historic Reserve. Thanks for all of the caches along the route!(End of the cut and paste bit)Heres the specific log for the cache:A bit of a tricky stop here for the direction we were heading in, but we managed to pull all the way off the road anyway. Clever little hide here, and I am glad the gates were open. TFTC!

23/9/2023 Find #6595Day 15 of the Fangsoki/1MinnieMoo New Zealand South Island adventure. We were supposed to head from Queenstown to Haast and Franz Josef today however the pass was closed, so we headed up to Wanaka and then across to Christchurch for the night. To break up the drive a little, we stopped at just a couple of caches on the way. We pulled over and ran back for this one, having to wait out the traffic to make the grab and to replace. Thanks for the cache drawp.

Found with StreetWalkerNZ on day 2 of our geocaching trip down south. Today we are travelling from Twizel to Te Anau, the day started with clear blue skies (but rather chilly) and ended in rain as we neared our destination.
It pays to come prepared as I started looking for a systema under a rock, before we realised we needed to look for something smaller and SW made the find. Good hide. TFTC.

Day 16 of my 2020 NZE (New Zealand Experience).
(My apologies for the delayed logging but I'm still in catch-up mode)

Seeing as I can't be in America right now, I'm touring around the South Island instead. During my time here I am aiming to find as many of the TMGT caches as I can (preferably all 41) and also as many Virtuals, Earthcaches and Letterbox Hybrids as possible, plus any Trads or others that will fill a hole in my D/T grid, my Jasmer grid, or else the last 3 remaining Hidden Dates on that grid.

I was last in Queenstown about 18 months ago when some friends of mine were touring around the South Island and I flew in to join them for a few days. I've been lucky enough to visit a few times now and yet the sight of the Remarkables never ceases to amaze me. My wonderful tour is nearing the end, and today I was planning on having a leisurely drive from Queenstown to Tekapo.

The road from Queenstown through the Lindis Pass to Tekapo is one of my favourite drives. I love the juxtaposition of the drama of the rugged ranges and the flat calmness of the vineyards. This is not a drive to be rushed, so I was happy to pull over every so often to try for a cache.

I was able to park safely just off the highway and then walk back towards GZ. The cache itself was a quick find for me today, in the very first place I looked. There were no issues with it, so the log was duly signed and the whole lot replaced as found before returning to the campervan and getting on my way again.

Thanks for placing this cache.

Quick find here, RG liked this hide. TFTC drawp.

Second full day of a 10 day road trip for RG1972 and I to get to Te Anau, attempt a half marathon, and get safely back to Nelson/Marlborough. Today was Chch to Wanaka, so we hand picked a few park and grabs in between food and shopping stops. 20 plus for the day and all in good shape. Thanks all COs and sorry for the cut and paste bit.

For my personal challenge of working towards getting my calendar on GC.COM to be at least the same shade of green or darker I need to sign off at least 12 caches today. I won't grumble if I find one or two moreWinkRazz. Today I decided to go for a drive through the Lindis Pass to locate and sign off the required caches.

This one was very hard to get out as the container was deformed.

Cheers for the cache.

Parked nearby, open today. Couldn't remove the container but could open it to access the logbook.

Day 3 of a 4 day road trip. My mission on this trip was to travel South and West and then East and North. This road trip was all about the numbers but not quite in the usual way. In fact it was hours and hours spent on the road in search of minutes (and caches). I'm filling in gaps in my 'minutes' found across New Zealand in order to complete the 400 minutes challenge for the cache GC7YQZ8 - at the start of this trip I had a 52 minute gap to fill. I insisted in checking a few wrong spots before I checked the right spot. TFTC, Biggles.

Quick find on a day when it can safely stay open, TFTC!!

We are on our summer holiday driving around the South Island with no real idea of where we will end up each day. We are often drawn to an area that has the potential to give us a few geocaching smilies and somewhere we have not spent time exploring before. In some cases we are revisiting placed that we have been before but liked so much we are going there again.
We decided we would head to Cromwell to see an old friend, so here we are stopping along the way.
The cache was a quick find, but we had to open it in place, signed the log and returned it as we found it.
Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley

So, we took the time to visit a few Caches, to remove some green, orange or blue dots on our map.
We will distribute favorite points according to our mood and caches met.
Thank you to all Owners for the installation of these boxes and for their maintenance.

Isn't it strange that at least 9 people didn't appear to have signed the log book before I did today. Wonder how many times this has happened to CO's. I'm sure you really do appreciate the hard work that goes into placing caches and the CO's always appreciate the feedback in the form of the log online. Oh and its Open today.
