Thanks for your amazing cache vectis. I really appreciate the time you took to set up and maintain your caches. Found with Fisha1288 Cheers, Cympull.
Got this on the way back as signs say don't stop or get off your bike. But area is on the low risk area. Tftc!
Away for the weekend to ride a section of the Hauraki Rail Trail from Waihi. This afforded me the opportunity to snag some caches en route. No stopping was the advice. Meh! Theres a cache to be found. I needed a few minutes to zero in on the correct location. Pleased there were no muggles to disturb me. Thanks vectis#5076Logged using Cachly.
Cool hiding spot thank you - altho we had to ignore the no stopping signs. Tftc
Found whilst out on a ride with mum keylev, B4Dawn and NurseDr.
Had fun, thanks for the cache.

Apologies but completed these caches a few weeks ago and forgot to log them. Completed with Keylev.TFTC
Last rode this trail in April 2015 but with the geo-kids being quite small at the time we had to stop halfway so never got the caches at this end. This was a chance for me to tidy them up and NurseDr and B4Dawn to get them all.
Wasn't quite 1.3m but a nice quick find regardless.
Thanks for the cache.

Thanks for the cache.
We were staying at the camping area at the Waihi Railway Station with the aim of riding a portion of the Hauraki Rail Trail. This took a little bit of time to find. Cache is dry and in good order. TFTC.
Nice to be riding some of the trail today. A lovely area to cycle through. This one had us searching in the wrong place initially, was just about to give up, but luckily one last search produced the cache
This was such a cool area to bike through.
I dropped the bike at the end and wandered a short distance back, but it took me ages to lay my hands on the cache.
Thankfully no one came past as i was flaffing around.
Thanks for putting this here

The Kiwiscot clan hired some bikes from Waihi and hit the rail trail. Enjoyed our cycle through the gorge and tunnel. On our return journey now. Short of time with the bikes needing to be returned before hire shop closing so glad of the quick find here. TFTC
After a bit of searching, we soon had it in hand.
Now we have to return for our next part of the weekend.

A nice quick find thanks.
Ms_KR and I are off on a wee tour of the North Island. The weather was mostly dry today, a bonus. We cruised from Waihi Beach to Paeroa, me on the bike down the HRT trail. A really nice bike ride.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Enjoyed this part of the track. Glad I decided to walk along here today. Great spot. Tftc
Mr P and I had the best time, biking, finding caches and just enjoying the area. Highly recommended. T4tc
Heading from Paeroa to Waihi and back again on the HRT today, we collected a few caches along the way. We found this part of the trail to be very popular, and it is not hard to see why as this is a very scenic part of the HR trail.
A quick find here thanks to the hint and we were back on our bikes.

The Hauraki Rail Trail is closed while the Covid 19 rahui is in place. Anyone geocaching during this time is putting themselves and others at risk by handling the containers, stash and logs. So this cache is disabled until this present emergency ends. I reserve the right to disable any logs dated after the lockdown started.
Loaded the electric scooter and bike into the
chariot and off to Waihi before lockdown, to
tidy some odd caches up with ABCDF4.Thanks
to the Cos for the placements in awsome areas.

I looked for a minute at where my GPSr said GZ was, but then expanded my search pattern and found the cache. TFTC.
An amazing amount of work must have gone into cutting out this section of the trail. We really enjoyed walking back through history.
A quick find once at GZ. Thanks vectis.

Quite an impressive cutting for the mine loco's to pull the ore wagon;s from mine to battery.
Found during my third visit on HRT. This time most beautiful section. Section C: Paeroa to Waihi. This time 46km on my bike. Enjoyed so much!
As per hint. All good at GZ! TFTC

Todays mission was to ride from Waihi to Waikino. We went a bit further on towards Karangahake in the end. 23.8 km return. We made many finds and a few DNF's. We replaced 1 cache with CO permission but didn't have anything else with us for the other DNF's we came across. We met up with a buddy cacher "Tramyard" at the waterfall and met again on our return journeys. Great to meet another cacher on the journey. We found the first part of the track a little challenging with the the up and down portions of the track, but after that the track became very pleasant to ride. A lovely sunny day with lots of fellow riders and walkers on the trail today. Spooky space to ride through, fortunate to make a quick find here.. SL. TFTC.

Today we cycled the Hauraki Rail Trail from Thames to Waihi. We stopped for lunch at Karangahake Gorge and then belted along to Waihi to catch the shuttle back to Thames. We only just had time to stop for one cache on the trail - and this was it. Fortunately, a quick find thanks to the good clue.

Found on the return bike ride. At least the GZ was cool unlike the previous cache where we fled the heat after 2 minutes. As we passed here this morning a morepork was hiding in the shadows.
Had a great time at this morning's " Race the Train" funrun. It was fun to cycle back thru the course & and on through the tunnel, to see & cheer on the ultra distance runners. With a "hydration" stop at the Waikino Hotel, & stopping to grab this cache along the way. Nice easy find. TFTC!
One of eight caches located on our bike ride this afternoon between Waikino and Waihi. Great day for it. Found this one reasonably quickly. #1861. TFTC.
Nice ride this morning, Waihi to Paeroa and return caching along the way. TFTC!
No problems here even after midnight. Time to turn back though, will need to come back for the rest along here some time soon, TFTC
Kiwis69 and myself are doing the HRT the long, yet less painful way. We have done one section previous and it was decided that it was time to tackle another chunk of the trail. We picked to cycle from Waihi - Paeroa as there was a slight time restraint, plus it was the shorter option and I was worried since it had been awhile since I had some serious seat time. All up it took us 4.5hr (which included a lot of hunting at some caches and a few breaks)
Once we had the cars sorted, and then the bikes sorted it was time to hit the trail. The weather forecast was average today and we hoped that would keep the muggles away. Well there were still quite a few muggles out and about but not as bad as it could be so we managed to time our hunting inbetween people passing by.
A nice cool spot through here, provided some welcome shade and we soon had the cache in hand as well
Thanks for the hides and giving us some welcome breather stops!

It's nearly 4 years to the day since our usual caching cronies cycled the HRT trail but without 11hpg11 & myself being part of that group. Today, its finally our turn! Thanks heaps for keeping the HRT series going. Cycling the Waihi - Paeroa section today & really enjoying it. Thought this could be tricky but thankfully a nice quick find here, TFTC
I'm travelling around NZ for 7 weeks, using geocaching as my guide-book. I'm glad geocaching took me to Waihi, I wasn't planning to stay here, but driving through the Karangahake Gorge last night made me want to explore more. Today I rented a bike and biked the beautiful trail from Waihi to the gorge and back. Thank you for placing all these caches along the way, otherwise I wouldn't have tought of this. I rented a bike for half a day (5 hours), so I didn't have time to find all the caches, but I got to see a lot, and I did the windows-walk. It was a beautiful day!
About this cache:
A quick and easy find. Nice new log and container. Tftc, greetings from Norway

Headed over this way to do part of the trail sadly the weather is crap but happy to continue. Thanks so much for the smiles was still a great day.
Great views and a cool tunnel too.

On a mission with fellow cacher, Dee+ME. A great winters day for a bike ride along this fabulous track, fantastic history in the area, all good here, many thanks for bringing us here. Cheers.
The log sheet was very damp on this one, so we replaced it for you with a strip of waterproof paper. Thanks for the cache, much appreciated.
After planning a trip to the bay of plenty for easter to gather a cache or two, it changed dramatically (we thought) when we heard that cyclone cook was about to bear down on this area our hopes had dropped .
But no almost the complete opposite, so after getting bike and body sorted it was to the start we went and ride the HRT trail, we started in thames and the plan was to ride to te aroha if the body allowed.
Nice quick find here exactly where and how it should be.
Thanks for the smiley and the placement.
Another helpful hint

Today we decided to hike this trail..... We started at the "HRT start" and walked to "Victoria Battery" and turned around and came back. While we were hiking we had to stopped on the way to search for geocaches that was hidden on this scenic route. We had a lot of fun
Thanks for bringing us to this part of Waihi.

More of the HRT series of caches. Today was from Waihi to Waikino. Thanks for placing the series vectis.
Near one of my favourite spots during this leg. I had not cycled this part before, the trail previously ended at Waikino, so today its all new Love the hide, thanks for cache.
Out with Rustynz, Out playing on the bike with friends and Family having a fun time in the sun TFTC
Hahahaha, after realising I had been looking at the wrong wall the cache was quickly in hand and signed.
Biking from Paeroa to Waihi and caching along the way. Nice cool section of the trail here, it was nice to feel the temperature drop while biking through. I used the hint to help narrow down the search area. Log sheet was a little damp, but not too bad. Thanks for the hide!
Glad it wasn't very small, as xs is indicated. Didn't took too long to find but could have. Hint helped, as I was just looking at that height and soon found it, covered again after signing the log
This is a nice spot on the bike trail. Soon spotted the particular rock. I wonder how long it will remain perched there. Thanks for the cache
Found it in good condition nice hide and quick find and sign...thanks for a great cache
With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... It feels like ages since the last time we were out on the hunt. The weather has been predictably wet of late...
HRT Trail: This was an unusual section of the trail. It seemed quite narrow through this cutting, and a bit of a bottleneck compared to the rest of the track. We were surprised to find the cache out in the open. The rocky camouflage had obviously fallen away. Despite its exposure to the weather, the log wasn't too bad. We repositioned the cache where we found it and replaced the material that should have concealed the hide. TFTC.

Earlier in the year, tikitour and I decided we would team up and cycle the whole Hauraki Rail Trail over the long Easter weekend and look for all the caches along the way. On Good Friday we did the Thames to Paeroa leg and yesterday we did the Te Aroha to Paeroa leg. Today we left the best till last and did the final leg from Waihi to Paeroa. It was another lovely day today and this section of the trail was a whole lot busier than the other 2, but we didn't have too many troubles with muggles. It was lovely cycling through here and I would come back and do it again. Soon found this cache along the way. TFTC!

Day 3 of our cycling weekend and this was the best of the three days...fantastic track with lovely views, ups and down, great bridges , historical sites to visit, amazing tunnel and of course caches to find. It was a day of great variety, riding and walking. We cycled down from where we were staying in Waihi and we picked up a few along the way. Thanks for the placement of all the caches.
So the GPS beeped, I stopped, Rich read out the clue and I pointed straight to it! Easy as!

We were out on our bikes by 8 this morning to ride the Hauraki bike trail from Waihi to Paeroa, with a little detour to do the Karangahake Windows Walk (which meant we missed going through the 1 km tunnel). It was a perfect day for it, no wind, cloudy and not too hot. A great ride with wonderful scenery as well as the history lessons along the way.
Must be getting close to the gorge. Didn't take long to track down this cache. TFTC.
